태연혈(太淵穴)의 유침 시간에 따른 체온 변화 -적외선체열촬영(赤外線體熱撮影)을 중심으로-

Objectives: This study was performed to find the desirable remaining time of needle in the acupuncture treatment. Methods: The 21 volunteers were given acupuncture at LU9 vertically and needles were remained for 2 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, respectively. The thermographic change induced by acupuncture was measured with Digital Infrared Thermographic Image at the following acupoints: LU11, LU10, LU9, LU8, LU5, LU1, and PC7. The statistical significance of thermographi change was evaluated using paired t-test and post hoc Wilcoxon test. Results: The most significant changes after acupuncture were produced when needles were remained for 10 min or 15 min. LU11, LU5, LU1, and PC7 were the point at which all of the remaining time produced significant change commonly. At LU11, the biggest change was produced when needle was remained for 15 min, while at LU5, LU1, and PC7, the biggest change was produced when needle was remained for 30 min, and the smallest change was produced when needle was remained for 10 min at all of acupoints of LU11, LU5, LU1, and PC7. The unbalance between left side and right was decreased the most largely in 15 min group. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that the desirable remaining time of acupuncture needle might be 15 min.

This study is to interpret the social contributions of the Korean national football team supporters, Red Devils. The background of this issue is related to the present situation of supporters in Korea. The purpose of this paper is to grasp the present situation of supporters, to investigate the recognition of Red Devils, and to discuss the social contributions of Korean national football team supporters, Red Devils. The conclusions are as follows. First, the images of Red Devils were `red colored`(45%), `street cheering`(36%), `Dae! Han! Min! Kuk!`(10%). be the reds`, `oh! Pil seung Korea`. Second, the answers of the question about the relation between cheering activity of supporters and the performance of the football team were; `gives a positive effect psychologically`(72%), `gives pressure on the team`(13%). <P>In this study, diamond thin films were deposited on tungsten carbide tools using surface-wave plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (SWP-CVD). To eliminate the adverse effects of cobalt on the diamond deposition process, the cobalt was removed from the surface of the tools by etching with Murakami’s reagent for various times (30, 60, and 120 min). The cutting performance of the untreated and the diamond-coated WC tools was examined by performing cutting test on carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP). The results showed that all the diamond-coated tools exhibited great improvement on the durability and wear resistance compared to the uncoated one. In addition, the diamond-coated tool lift time is found to be proportional to the etching time. An increase more than twofold has been achieved when the etch time was increased from 30 min to 120 min.</P>

N/A 131I-6β-iodomethyl-19-norcholesterol(NP-59) has an advantage to assess adrenal dysfunction caused by adrenal cortical disorders. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical usefulness of NP-59 scintigraphy in each adrenral disease. Ten patients who did eleven NP-59 adrenal scintigraphies at Dong-A University Hospital from March 1990 to December 1996 were selected as the subject. Among the subject there were 5 cases of Cushing's syndrome, 2 cases of incidentaloma, 1 case of metastatic adrenal tumor, liver cirrhosis with hirsutism and hypertension respectively. Among 5 case of Cushing's syndrome, there were 2 cases of Cushing's disease, 2 cases of adrenal adenoma and 1 case of adrenal carcinoma. There are no disagreement between clinical diagnosis and scan finding in Cushing's syndrome. In 2 incidentaloma cases, even though one is interpretated as a functioning tumor, both of 2 cases could avoid unnecessary biopsy according to scintigraphy result. One case of hirsutism, clinically adrenal originated, revealed the normal scintigraphic hirsutism was extra-adrenal origin. One case of hypertension took the study to exclude the possibility of primary aldosteronism. Normal suppression scan finding revealed that primary aldosteronism did not exist in this case. In conclusion, NP-59 scintigraphy was very useful in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of Cushing's syndrome and it could avoid unnecessary biopsy in the incidental adrenal tumor.
뇌출혈로 내원한 성인 모야모야병 환자에서 응급 혈종제거술과 Encephalo-duro-arterio-synangiosis: 1예 보고

출혈성 성인 모야모야병 환자에서 이상적인 치료법에 대하여 아직 많은 논란이 있으나 근본적으로는 허혈성 질환이며 이로 인해 뇌기저부 등에 측부혈관들이 발달하게 되고 여기에 발생한 미세동맥류나 측부혈관에 미치는 혈류역학적 과부하가 출혈을 일으킨다는 점에서 볼 때 허혈을 개선시키기 위한 수술적 요법이 재출혈을 예방하는 효과가 있을 것으로 판단된다. 저자들은 우측의 심한 뇌출혈로 내원한 43세 여자 모야모야병 환자에서 응급 혈종제거술과 동시에 encephalo-duro-arterio-synangiosis(EDAS)시술을 시행하여 양호한 치료결과를 얻었기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하며 향후 수술 시기나 방법 등에서 치료결과를 최적화하기 위한 연구의 필요성을 제기하고자 한다. There are many controversies over ideal treatment methods for adult hemorrhagic moyamoya disease, but because it is basically an ischemic disease leading to formation of collateral vessels and microaneurysms or hemodynamic stress on collateral vessels cause hemorrhage, revascularization procedures to improve ischemia seem to be effective in prevention of rebleeding. The authors report on good result of emergency hematoma evacuation and concurrent encephalo-duro-arterio-synangiosis(EDAS) in a 43-year-old woman moyamoya disease patient presented with massive intracerebral hemorrhage in the right hemisphere and suggest the necessity of further study to optimize the treatment result especially in regard to timing and specific methods of revascularization procedure.

This study was conducted to know the removal characteristics of ammonia nitrogen by commercially available cation exchange resins. Eight acidic cation exchange resins were investigated in batch reactors. Among them, the most effective resin for ammonia removal in solution was PK228, which was a strong acidic resin of Na^+ type. PK228 was compared with activated carbon and natural zeolite. The effects of cation exchange capacity, ammonia concentration, resin amount, temperature and pH on ammonia removal by PK228 were investigated in batch reactor, and the effect of effluent velocity in continuous column reactor. Strong acidic resins of porous type were more effective than week acidic resins or gel type resins for ammonia removal in solution. PK228 was more effective than activated carbon and natural zeolite for ammonia removal in batch reactor. With increasing initial ammonia concentration, the amount of ammonia removed by PK228 increased, but the proportion of removed ammonia to initial ammonia concentration decreased. The effect or temperature on ammonia removal by PK228 was very slight. The ammonia removal to acidic solution was more effective than that at basic solution. With decreasing effluent velocity of solution through column, breakthrough point extended, and ammonia removal capacity increased.

Nitrate-selective ion exchange resin which have bulky tertiary amine as functional group have been synthesized by the reaction of chloromethylated polystyrene-divinylbenzene copolymer and the corresponding tertiary amine [NR_3=NEt_3 1, N(C_2H_4OH)_3 2] in ethanol, while commercial resin has NMe_3 as functional group. The fundamental properties such as bulk density, water content, appearance index, exchange capacity, effective size, uniformity coefficient of synthesized anion exchange resin (1) have been measured. The ion exchange resin (1) and (2) exhibited the better selectivity for nitrate than sulfate in both batch and continuous column experiments.

Nitrate-selective ion exchange resins have been synthesized by the reaction of chloromethylated polystyrene - divinylbenzene copolymer and corresponding trialkyl amine [NR₃〓 NEt₃ [N(CH₂CH₃)₃](2), NPr₃[N(CH₂CH₂CH₃)₃](3),NBu₃[N(CH₂CH₂CH₂CH₃)₃](4), NPe[N(CH₂CH₂CH₂CH₂CH₃)₃](5) in ethanol. The functional group of ion exchange resin for the effective NO₃ removal was the order of NPr₃> NBu₃> NEt₃> NMe₃> NPe₃.
소뇌연수열 박리를 이용한 상부 뇌교종양의 절제 : 증례보고 a case report

뇌교 및 연수에서 발생한 병변은 뇌간에 중요한 신경구조물들이 밀집하여 수술적 적출에 따르는 심각한 신경학적 장애가 발생할 가능성이 매우 높다. 병변이 제 4뇌실 전방에 위치한 경우는 제 4 뇌실바닥을 통하여 뇌간조직을 절개하여야 하므로, 이 부위의 해부학적인 이해와 수술적 접근방법을 알고있어야 신경학적 손상을 최소화 할 수 있다. 저자들은 상부뇌교에서 발생한 낭성 양성 신경교종을 적출하기 위하여 소뇌충수를 보존하면서 좌측 소뇌연수열 접근법으로 제 4 뇌실바닥 상부까지 노출할 수 있었으며, suprafacial triangle을 절개하여 신경학적 후유증 없이 종양을 성공적으로 절제할 수 있어 증례보고와 함께 제 4 뇌실바닥 노출 방법의 하나인 소뇌연수열 접근법과 제 4 뇌실바닥 수술적 절개와 해부학적 특성에 대한 문헌 고찰을 하였다. Surgical removal of brain stem pathology causes high risks for neurologic deficits because of compact aggregation of important neural structures and complex anatomy. For the removal of pathologies which are located anterior to the floor of fourth ventricle in the brain stem, exposure of variable extents of the floor of fourth ventricle and incision of rhomboid fossa are necessary. In order to minimize postsurgery neurologic sequale for the removal of these pathologies, understanding of anatomy and surgical approach is very important. Authors successfully removed upper pontine benign cystic glioma by transmedullary fissure approach without vermian incision to exposure floor of fourth ventricle and by incision of suprafacial triangle of rhomboid fossa without causing further neurologic deficit. Surgical technique of transcerebellomedullary approach and surgical anatomy of rhomboid fossa are discussed with report of a surgical case.

Ion exchange performance to remove nitrate in water was studied using commercially available strong base anion exchange resin of Cl^- type in the batch reactors. Anion exchange resin was more effective than activated carbon or zeolite. With large resin amount or high temperature or low initial concentration, nitrate removal characteristics for a typical gel-type resin was increased. The curves showed the generally accepted selectivity sequence as SO₄^2-$gt;NO₃^-$gt;NO₂^-$gt;HCO₃^-.
