Taraxci Herba is in use in eastern medicine. The eastern medical doctors use Taraxci Herba for clearing away heat and eliminating toxin (淸熱解毒), inducing diuresis for treating stranguria (利尿通淋), etc. We investigated toxicity, symptoms of poisoning or side effect, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisongin and side effect of Taraxci Herba. The results were summarized ad follows: 1. The poisoning symptoms or side effects from Taraxci Herba occasionally are revealed. Those are mainly stimulating symptoms on gastrointestinal system and allergic reaction on the skin, etc. 2. If the patient has poisoning reactions or side effects, the patient should stop taking medicine of Taraxci Herba. In that case, the poisoning reactions or side effects will be disappeared. 3. In order to prevent against poisoning or side effect of Taraxci Herba, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

Artemisiae Argi Folium is in use in the Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Artemisiae Argi Folium for expelling pathogenic cold from channel(溫經散寒), promoting the flow of qi(通絡), stopping bleeding(止血), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, side effects, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Artemisiae Argi Folium. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are oil of Artemisiae Argi Folium, terpineol, thujone, terpinen-4-ol, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Artemisiae Argi Folium mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, nervous system, etc. And in case of external use of Artemisiae Argi Folium, that can cause hypersensitive reaction on the skin. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in Korean medicine, the Korean medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 3. The representative methods in poisoning treatments in western medicine are washing out the stomach, causing diarrhea, symptomatic treatment, etc. And the patients should be taken to stable room. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Artemisiae Argi Folium, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

종설(綜說) : 독활(獨活)의 독성(毒性)에 관한 문헌적 고찰

Angelicae Pubescentis Radix is in use in eastern medicine. Eastern medical doctors use Angelicae Pubescentis Radix for eliminating wind and dampness(祛風濕), relieving pain(止痛), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Angelicae Pubescentis Radix. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are angelicotoxin, volatile oils, coumarin compounds, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Angelicae Pubescentis Radix mainly cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, nervous system, circulating system, respiratory system, etc and cause hypersensitive dermatitis. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in western medicine are promotion of vomiting, washing out the stomach, causing diarrhea, supplies of grape sugar and symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in eastern medicine take advantage of herbs, such as Glycyrrhizae Radix(甘草), etc And Eastern medical doctor should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Angelicae Pubescentis Radix, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

The Korean medical doctors use Cinnamomi Cortex for warming the middle-jiao(溫中), and clearing away cold(散寒), and restoring yang(助陽), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, side effects, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Cinnamomi Cortex. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are cinnamic aldehyde, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Cinnamomi Cortex mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, urinary system and nervous system, etc. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the western medicine are washing out the stomach, promotion of vomiting, causing diarrhea, enema, supplies of grape sugar and symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the Korean medicine are removing heat(淸熱), nourishing yin(養陰), and relieving thirst(止渴), etc. And Korean medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Cinnamomi Cortex, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the Korean medicine take advantage of herbs, such as Glycyrrhizae Radix(甘草), Brassicae Pekinensis Folium(白 菜), etc. And the Korean medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 3. The representative methods in poisoning treatments in the western medicine are promotion of vomiting, washing out the stomach, causing diarrhea, supplies of grape sugar, inducing diuresis. And the medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Hydnocarpi Semen, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.
