파노라마 X-선사진을 이용한 측두하악관절 장애환자의 수직적 하악비대칭에 관한 연구

To evaluate of the relationship between the TMJ disorder and the vertical mandibular asymmetry, the author analyzed the differences between condylar heights, ramus heights and mandibular heights of both sides. All measurements were performed with a digital micrometer on the panoramic radiographs of 36 TMJ disorder patients and 30 normal control group. The differences were expressed in millimeters and percentage using the following formula; |(R-L)/(R+L)|X 100% The results were as follows: 1. The condylar height difference was greater of in patient group (1.86±1.66㎜) than that of in control group (1.22±0.85㎜)(p<0.05). But there was no significant difference in the condylar height ratio difference between patient group(11.67±11.44%) and control group (7.64±6.21%) (p>0.05). 2. The ramus height difference and ramus height ratio difference of patient group (4.52±3.70㎜, 4.39±3.49%) were greater than those of control group (2.64±2.13㎜, 2.46±2.02%)(p<0.05, p<0.01). 3. The mandibular height difference and mandibular height ratio difference of patient group (4.32±3.52㎜, 3.59±2.81%) were greater then those of control group (2.57±2.46㎜, 2.01±1.95%)(p<0.05). 4. The ratio difference in condylar height to ramus height and condylar height to mandibular height of patient group (5.01±4.13%, 3.26±2.88%) were greater than those of control group (2.33±1.78%, 1.90±1.40%)(p<0.01).

Paraganglioma is an extraadrenal pheochromocytoma originating from chromaffin cells distributed in the sympathetic nervous systems. Functioning extraadrenal paragangliomas represent more than 10% of all pheochromocytomas, and seems to be highly malignant tumor in comparison to intraadrenal pheochromocytomas. Recently, we experienced a case of a paraganglioma in the posterior mediastinum. A 32-year-old woman was admitted to hospital due to dyspnea on exertion, and intractable hypertension. A chest X-ray showed a well-defined mass density on the right cardiac border, and biochemical studies showed characteristic findings of pheochromocytoma. A solitary pheochromocytoma was located in the posterior mediastinum using 131I-MIBG scintigraphy. The clinical manifestations, including hypertension and dyspnea were improved after operation

Neuroinflammation is implicated for amyloidogenesis. Sulfur compounds extracted from garlic have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Previously, we have investigated that thiacremonone, a sulfur compound isolated from garlic has anti-inflammatory effects. To investigate thiacremonone`s potential effect on anti-neuroinflammation and anti-amyloidogenesis, 4 week old ICR mice were given different doses of thiacremonone (1, 3, and 10 mg/kg) in drinking water for 1 month and received intraperitoneal injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (250 μg/kg/day) at last 7 days of treatment. Our data show thiacremonone decreased LPS-induced memory impairment, glial activation, pro-inflammatory mediators` expression, and amyloidogenesis. In an in vitro study, we obtained similar results, with thiacremonone (1, 2, and 5 μg/ml) effectively decreased LPS (1 μg/ml)-induced glial activation and inflammatory mediators generation which are implicated in amyloidogenesis. Our data also demonstrated that thiacremonone inhibited LPS-induced amyloidogenesis in cultured astrocytes and microglial BV-2 cells. NF-κB, a critical transcriptional factor regulating not only inflammation but also amyloid-β generation, was inhibited by thiacremonone via blocking of phosphorylation of IκBα in mice brain as well as cultured astrocytes and microglial BV-2 cells. These results indicated that the anti-inflammatory compound, thiacremonone, inhibited neuroinflammation and amyloidogenesis through inhibition of NF-κB activity, and thus could be applied for intervention of inflammation-related neurodegenerative disease including Alzheimer`s disease.

목적: 만삭임신 태반에서의 배아성 줄기세포포지자의 부위별 발현을 비교하기 위하여 본 연구를 시행하였다. 연구 방법: 만삭임신의 태반에서 배아성 줄기세포 표면항원인 TRA 1-60 (Tumor rejection antigen 1-60), TRA 1-81 (Tumor rejection antigen 1-81), SSEA-3 (stage-specific embryonic antigen-3) 및 SSEA-4 (stage-specific embryonic antigen-4)에 대한 면역조직화학적 방법을 이용하여 태반의 부위별 항원 발현을 비교하였다. 결과: 양막상피세포는 TRA 1-60과 TRA 1-81에 대하여 양성반응을 보였고 양막중간엽기질세포는 TRA 1-81에 대하여 양성 반응을 보였다. 융모막중간엽기질세포는 TRA 1-60과 TRA 1-81에 대하여 양성반응을 보였다. SSEA-3와 SSEA-4는 태반의 어느 부위에서도 염색이 되지 않았다. TRA 1-60이 가장 강하게 발현된 부위는 양막상피세포였고 TRA 1-81이 가장 강하게 발현된 부위는 융모막중간엽기질세포였다. 결론: 만삭 태반에서의 양막상피세포 뿐 아니라 양막 및 융모막기질세포도 다능성 줄기세포의 유용한 자원이 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. Objective: To determine which compartments of placenta in the term pregnancy express the embryonic stem cell markers. Methods: We have used immunohistochemical methods with antibodies to embryonic stem cell surface antigens, TRA 1-60 (Tumor rejection antigen 1-60), TRA 1-81 (Tumor rejection antigen 1-81), SSEA-3 (stage-specific embryonic antigen-3) and SSEA-4 (stage-specific embryonic antigen-4), to identify and localize stem cells in the term placenta. Results: Stem cell marker-positive cells were found in all layer of placenta. Amnionic epithelial cells was immunoreactive with TRA 1-60, TRA 1-81. Amnionic mesenchymal stromal cells was immunoreactive with TRA 1-81. Chorionic mesenchymal stromal cells was immunoreactive with TRA 1-60 and TRA 1-81. SSEA-3 and SSEA-4 were not stained at any compartment of the term placenta. Compartment that was stained most strongly by TRA 1-60 was the amnionic epithelial cells layer. Compartment that was stained most strongly by TRA 1-81 was the chorionic mesenchymal stromal cells layer. Conclusion: The mesenchymal stroma cells of the amnion and chorion as well as amnionic epithelial cells may be useful source of pluripotent stem cells in the term placenta.
Identification of meat quality related genes in Korean Native Chicken using Proteomics

본 연구는 proteomics의 방법을 이용하여 가금의 육질과 관련된 단백질을 찾고자 수행하였다. 인삼부산물 추출액을 급여한 실용 재래닭에서 육질과 관련된 것으로 추정되는 후보 단백질들이 선발되었으며, 이 결과는 가금의 육질을 향상시키는 단백질 Marker로서 이용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 현재까지 밝혀지지 않은 가금의 2D map을 만드는데 역시 중요하게 이용될 수 있다. There is growing interest for improving meat quality in chicken. Recently, the proteomics can be used as a valuable tool for identifying candidate proteins. In this study, we investigated the proteins expressed in chicken muscle for obtaining chicken muscle reference two dimensional(2D) map and identifying the proteins in muscle affecting Ginseng diet. A few candidate proteins have been currently characterizing using MALDI - TOF Mass spectrometry. Further investigations of the proteins can be used as valuable markers for selection of better quality chicken meat.

To develop and aceclofenac soft capsule, four preparations with various solubilizers were prepared and their dissolution test was carried out. Among four preparations tested, a preparation with ethanolamine was selected a formula of aceclofenac soft capsule (Clanza S^(™), since it showed the fastest dissolution rate. Bioequivalence of aceclofenac tablet, Airtal^(™)(Dae-Woong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) and aceclofenac soft capsule, Clanza S^(™)(Korea United Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) was evaluated according to the guideline of KFDA. Fourteen normal male volunteers (age 20-25 years old) were divided into two groups and a randomized 2×2 cross-over study was employed. After oral administration of one tablet or capsule containing 100 ㎎ of aceclofenac, blood ws taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentration of aceclofenac in plasma wa determined with an HPLC method under UV detector. The pharmacokinetic parameters (C_(max), T_(max) and AUC_(t)) were calculated and ANOVA was utilized for the statistical analysis of parameters using logarithmically transformed AUC_(t), C_(max) and T_(max) between Airtal tablet and Clanza soft capsule were 2.89%, 0.18% and 43.0%, respectively. There were no sequence effects between two formulations in these parameters. The 90% confidence intervals using logarithmically transformed data were within the acceptance range of log(0.8) to log(1.250(e.g.log(0.81) - log(1.23) and log(0.89) - log(1.14)) for AUC_(t) and C_(max), respectively. Thus, the criteria of the KDFA guidelines for the equivalence was satisfied, indicating that Clanza S^(™) soft capsule is bioequivalent to Airtal^(™) tablet.

본 연구는 proteomics의 방법을 이용하여 가금의 육질과 관련된 단백질을 찾고자 수행하였다. 인삼부산물을 급이한 실용재래계와 대조구와의 비교에서 육질과 관련된 3개의 후보 단백질이 이 연구를 통해 밝혀졌다. 이 유전자들은 tropomyosin, triosephosphate isomerase와 한 개의 기능이 밝혀지지 않은 단백질이었다.<br/> 각각의 기능을 살펴볼 때 이 유전자들은 근육의 성장과 면역의 증강에 관여하며 이 결과는 인삼부산물을 이용하여 가금의 육질을 향상시키는 단백질 마커로 중요하게 이용이 될 수 있을 것으로 추정된다. The present study was aimed to investigate proteome affected by Panax ginseng extracts in chicken muscles. More than 300 protein spots were detected on silver staining gels. Among them, four protein spots were distinctively up-regulated by Panax ginseng treatments. The up-regulated proteins were finally identified as tropomyosin (2 spots), triosephosphate isomerase, and one unknown protein. Based on the known functions of the identified proteins, they are highly related to the muscle development and enhanced immunity in chicken. These proteins can give valuable information of biochemical roles for Panax ginseng in chicken meats.
