An experimental study is carried out to investigate the cahracteristics of heat transfer of outside helical tubes. The main heat exchanger consists of twelve curved columns with each 300mm diameter and the total length of 1.2m copper tube having an outer diameter of 19.05mm with 1.5mm thickness. Water flows down the outside of helical tube, where flow patterns are the vertical film falling flow, immerged flow, and mixed-flow which is the combination of film falling flow and immerged flow. Refrigerant 11 flows the inside of the tub countercurrently. The experimental range of inside flow rate is 1.7∼3.2ℓ/min. The results are presented as Nusselt number with corresponding Reynolds number for variety of outside and inside flow rates. The heat transfer rates of the mixed flow are 8 to 56% higher than those of film falling flow or immerged flow only. Interpretation of the results is given on the basis of physical reasoning and the correlation equations.

소결조건에 $Ta_2O_5$ 첨가된 Mn-Zn 페라이트의 전력손실에 미치는 영향

고주파 저손실 재질로 사용되고 있는 Mn-Zn 페라이트의 제조공정 중 소결조건과 Ta2O5첨가가 Mn-Zn 페라이트의전력손실에 미치는 영향에 대해서 연구하였다. 등조성선을 따라 냉각하기 위하여 컴퓨터를 사용해서 정확하게 산소분압을 조절하였으며 적절한 등조성선을 선택함으로써 보다 좋은 손실특성을 얻을 수 있었다. CaO-SiO2 첨가계에 Ta2O5를 0ppm에서 400ppm으로 변화시켜 가며 첨가하였으며, Ta2O5 가 400ppm 첨가되었을 경우 균일한 grain 성장과 더불어 낮은 전력손실을 나타내었다. 온도에 상응하는 상평형 산소분압을 정확히 맞춰 냉각할 경우 전력손실 최소값이 질소 분위기에서 냉각시킨 시편보다 높은 온도쪽으로 이동됨도 확인할 수 있었다.

Silica-manganese oxides with a core-shell structure were synthesized via precipitation of manganese oxides on the SiO_2 core while varying the concentration of a precipitation agent. Elemental analysis, crystalline property investigation, and morphology observations using low- and high-resolution electron microscopes were applied to the synthesized silica-manganese oxides with the core-shell structure. As the concentration of the precipitating agent increased, the manganese oxide shells around the SiO2 core sequentially appeared as Mn_3O_4particles, Mn_2O_3+Mn_3O_4 thin layers, and α-MnO_2 urchin-like phases. The prepared samples were assembled as electrodes in a supercapacitor with 0.1 M Na_2SO_4 electrolyte, and their electrochemical properties were examined using cyclic voltammetry and charge-discharge cycling. The maximum specific capacitance obtained was 197 F ^(g−1) for the SiO_2-MnO_2 electrode due to the higher electronic conductivity of the MnO_2 shell compared to those of the Mn_2O_3 and Mn_3O_4 phases.
Hemangioma Involving the Nasal Cavity and Maxillary and Ethmoidal Sinuses

Hemangiomas involving the paranasal sinuses are rare. The tumors are described as well circumscribed, intensely enhancing masses, causing benign-appearing bone changes on CT scans. CT scans show a large, nonhomogenously enhancing mass with remarkable bone erosion, which makes it difficult to differentiate it from malignant epithelial tumors on the basis of the radiologic finings. Medial maxillectomy by a midface degloving procedure or a lateral rhinotomy with lip splitting has been performed for surgical excision. Massive intraoperative bleeding could be avoided by adjunctive preoperative embolization or by intraoperative ligation of the external carotid artery. We report three cases of hemangiomas involving the nasal cavity and the maxillary and ethmoidal sinuses, presenting with refractory epistaxis and easily bleeding, friable intranasal masses.
