Purpose: To compare the measured values of anterior chamber depth and angle in glaucoma patients using Ultrasound Biomicroscopy (UBM) and OrbscanTM IIz Topography. Methods: We measured the anterior chamber depth and angles of four directions in 26 eyes of 13 primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) patients, 26 eyes of 13 normal tension glaucoma (NTG) patients, and 20 eyes of 10 angle closure glaucoma (ACG) patients, with UBM and Orbscan. Results: The values of anterior chamber depth did not show any difference between UBM and Orbscan. The values for anterior chamber angle in POAG and NTG eyes were not different between UBM and Orbscan, but the values for all anterior chamber angles except the superior angle, measured with UBM were significantly larger than those for ACG measured by Orbscan. Conclusions: Both UBM and Orbscan showed similar results in the measurement of anterior chamber depth and angle in POAG and NTG patients, but showed different results in the anterior chamber angle for ACG patients. UBM will be more useful in evaluating the anterior chamber angle in ACG patients because it can assess the structures of the anterior chamber angle objectively.

Purpose: Robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RPN) has emerged as an alternativetreatment for the management of small renal masses. This study was designed to investigateparameters that predict perioperative outcomes during RPN. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 113 patientswho underwent RPN between September 2008 and May 2012 at the SeoulNational University Bundang Hospital. Clinical parameters, including warm ischemiatime (WIT), estimated blood loss (EBL), and R.E.N.A.L and PADUA scores, were evaluatedto predict perioperative outcomes. Results: Of the 113 patients, 81 were men and 32 were women. The patients’ mean agewas 53.5 years, and their mean body mass index was 22.3 kg/m². Age, gender, and masslaterality had no effect on perioperative complications, WIT, or EBL. Univariate analysisrevealed that a distance between the tumor and the collecting system of ≤4 mmor a renal mass size of >4 cm were associated with adverse profiles of complications,WIT, and EBL. However, multivariate analysis showed no association between the predictiveparameters and tumor complexity as assessed by nephrometry scores. Tumorsize of >4 cm increased the risk of blood loss >300 mL (odds ratio [OR], 3.5; 95% confidenceinterval [CI], 1.3–9.7; p=0.016). A distance between the tumor and the collectingsystem of ≤4 mm was associated with increased risk of WIT exceeding 20 minutes (OR,2.8; 95% CI, 1.3–6.3; p=0.012). Conclusions: Tumor size and proximity of the mass to the collecting system showed significantassociations with EBL and WIT, respectively, during RPN. The R.E.N.A.L andPADUA nephrometry scoring systems did not predict perioperative outcomes.

PURPOSES: This research analyzes how the distribution of users changes when roads that impede walking are transformed into a pedestrian friendly space. The scope of the areas that are benefiting is presented, and the results can be used as basic data for demand generation and as indicators of policy judgments used in economic analysis. METHODS: Using statistical models, the scope of park users was analyzed by park type and the distribution of park and eco-friendly space users was compared. Differences in the moving distance of users was compared by using ANOVA and T-test analysis, and the distribution of users was compared by Kdenicity and Cumulative distribution plots. RESULTS : Based on the cumulative 90 percent distribution, the user’s walking range is about 1.3 km in small-scale parks, 2.2 km in ecofriendly spaces and 3.8 km in the western highway. The Anyangcheon Waterfront Area currently has a pedestrian impact zone of about 1 km (the 10% utilization rate) and will increase to 3.8 km after the project. CONCLUSIONS : Pedestrian-friendly road projects can improve access to existing waterfront areas. The walking user’s range will be wider after completing the project and has a different range to existing parks in Seoul.

Purpose: The eyeball has 2 blood-ocular barriers, i.e., the blood-retinal and blood-aqueous barriers. The purpose of this study was to evaluate if triolein emulsion could disrupt the barriers, and we wanted to suggest as an experimental model for future blood-ocular barrier studies. Materials and Methods: The triolein emulsion was made of 0.1 ml triolein and 20 ml normal saline, and this was infused into the carotid artery of ten cats (the experimental group). As a control group, only normal saline was infused in another ten cats. Precontrast and postcontrast T1-weighted MR images were obtained at 30 minutes and 3 hours after embolization in both groups. The signal intensities were evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively in the anterior and posterior chambers and also in the vitreus fluid. Statistical analysis was performed by employing the Kruskal Wallist test, Dunn’s Multiple Comparison test and the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results: In the control group, no contrast enhancement was demonstrated in the anterior or posterior chamber or in the vitreus fluid of the ipsilateral or contralateral eyeball on the 30 minutes MR images. The anterior chambers of the ipsilateral and contralateral eyeballs revealed delayed contrast enhancement on the 3 hour MR images. In the experimental group, the 30 minute-postembolization MR images were not different from those of the control group. The 30 minute-postembolization MR images demonstrated delayed contrast enhancement in the anterior chamber of the ipsilateral and contralateral eyeballs and in the posterior chamber of the ipsilateral eyeball. The delayed contrast enhancement of the posterior chamber of the ipsilateral eyeball was statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: The present study demonstrated significant contrast enhancement in the posterior chamber with infusion of the triolein emulsion, and this can serve as a model for blood-aqueous barrier studies.
자연복원 형태의 승기천 하수조 정비사업의 경제적 가치 추정 연구

This study estimates the economic value of the Seunggicheon Stream River Restoration Project, an inner city stream in downtown Incheon, which is a non-market good. To estimate the willingness to pay(WTP) of a family for the project, we estimate the mean WTP using the truncated median model and the Spike model considering the high rate of zero-bidders. The mean WTP is estimated at 2,243won/year/family(2,401won, except for protest bidders) by the truncated median model and 1,735won/year/family(1,934won, except for PR bidders) using the Spike model. Residents within 3 ㎞, who have a higher use value, had approximately three times more WTP than others. Additionally, we verified that WTP was underrepresented by the anchoring effect with OLS and logit, tobit regression analyses using open WTP questions. As the bid price increases, the WTP of non-zero bidders increase, but the rate decreases. The size of the anchoring effect was 1,732won/year/family(1,634won, except for PR bidders). 본 연구는 비시장재화인 인천시 승기천 하천복원 사업의 경제적 편익을 조건부가치측정법을 이용하여 추정하고 추가로 초기제시값에 의한 정박효과를 검증하였다. 해당 사업은 응답자의 지불의사율이 낮고 저항응답이 발견될 수 있어 0의 지불의사액을 고려하여 truncated median 모형과 스파이크 모형으로 평균 지불의사액을 추정하였다. 지불의사액은 truncated median 모형으로 저항응답을 포함하여 분석 시 가구당 연간 2,243원, 제외 시 2,401원으로 추정되었다. 스파이크 모형은 저항응답 포함 시 1,735원, 제외 시 1,934원으로 추정되었다. 3㎞ 내외로 구분하여 비교했을 때 사용가치가 높은 3㎞ 내 거주자의 지불의사액이 그 외 보다 약 3배 높았다. 지불의사액 추정 외에도 토빗분석을 활용한 정박효과 검토 방법을 제시하고 본 사업의 지불의사액이 과소추정되었음을 검증하였다. 초기제시값이 커질수록 지불의사자의 지불의사액은 커지나 지불의사율은 감소한다. 이는 지불의사액의 분포로도 확인되었다. 정박 효과의 크기는 1,732원(저항응답자 제외 시 1,634원)으로 추정하였다.
