        차량번호판 색상모델에 의한 번호판 영역분할 알고리즘

        The license plate recognition (LPR) unit consists of the following core components: plate region segmentation, individual character extraction, and character recognition. Out of the above three components, accuracy in the performance of plate region segmentation determines the overall recognition rate of the LPR unit. This paper proposes an algorithm for segmenting the license plate region on the front or rear of a vehicle in a fast and accurate manner. In the case of the proposed algorithm, images are captured on the spot where unmanned monitoring of illegal parking and stoppage is performed with a variety of roadway environments taken into account. As a means of enhancing the segmentation performance of the on-the-spot-captured images of license plate regions, the proposed algorithm uses a mathematical model for license plate colors to convert color images into digital data. In addition, this algorithm uses Gaussian smoothing and double threshold to eliminate image noises, one-pass boundary tracing to do region labeling, and MBR to determine license plate region candidates and extract individual characters from the determined license plate region candidates, thereby segmenting the license plate region on the front or rear of a vehicle through a verification process. This study contributed to addressing the inability of conventional techniques to segment the license plate region on the front or rear of a vehicle where the frame of the license plate is damaged, through processing images in a real-time manner, thereby allowing for the practical application of the proposed algorithm. 번호판인식은 번호판 영역분할, 개별문자 추출, 문자 인식의 세 가지 핵심부분으로 구성된다. 이 가운데 번호판 영역분할의 정확성은 전체 인식률을 결정한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 도로주변 환경을 고려해야하는 불법주정차 무인단속 현장으로부터 획득된 영상에서 차량의 번호판 영역을 정확하고 빠르게 분할하는 방법을 제안한다. 접근방법은 현장영상으로부터 번호판영역의 분할성능을 높이기 위하여 번호판색상의 수학적 모델을 제시하고, 이를 이용한 이진화를 수행하며, Gaussian Smoothing과 Double Threshold을 이용한 잡영제거, 1-패스 경계추적 레이블링 및 레이블링 이후 MBR을 이용한 번호판 영역후보 판정과 판정된 번호판 영역후보에서 개별문자 추출을 통한 번호판영역 검증과정을 통해 최종적으로 번호판영역을 분할하는 방법이다. 본 연구는 기존방법의 번호판 테두리 훼손에 따른 번호판 영역분할 실패의 문제점을 해결하고 시간소요의 문제를 실시간 안에 처리함으로서 실용적 응용이 가능하게 되었다.

        풍진의 임상 및 병리조직학적 고찰

        Background: Although rubella is a mild exanthematous viral infection and its incidence has been greatly decreased after effective vaccination, epidemics of rubella has been noted at 5- to 7-year intervals. But there has been few report about the clinical and histopathologic study of rubella in Korean literatures. Objective: The purpose of this study was to review the clinical and histopathologic characteristics of rubella of 1996 outbreak. Methods: We reviewed the clinical features and histopathologic findings in 50 patients diagnosed as rubella in Department of Dermatology, Presbyterian Medical Center from January 1996 through to May 1996. Results: 1. The male-female ratio was 1:1.17. The age distribution was 13-32 years and 72% of patients were aged 16-25 years. 2. Erythematous maculopapular rash on whole body was developed in all patients. Eighty two percent of the patients had fever and lymphadenopathy, and 36% of the patients had petechiae of soft palate. The main prodromal symptoms were sore throat (50%), headache (34%), and upper respiratory symptoms(22%), as order of frequency. 3. Positive serologic test for rubella IgM antibody was 79.5%. 4. The most common abnormal laboratory finding was leukopenia(58%), and followed by positive ASO(34%), the presence of atypical lymphocytes(21%), and thrombocytopenia(8%). 5. Histologically, epidermal changes were mild to moderate vacuolopathy(92.3%), the presence of dyskeratotic cells(30.8%), spongiosis(23.1%), and exocytosis(15.4%). Dermal findings were mild superficial perivascular lymphohistiocytic infiltration (100%), upper dermal edema (53.8%), perivascular edema(38.4%), pigmentary incontinence(30.8%), and the presence of extravasated RBC(23.1%). Eosinophil infiltration (15.4%) and the presence of large nucleated lymphocytes (92.3%) were also observed. Conclusions: According to the results of our study about rubella outbreak in 1996, clinical signs and symptoms were similar to those of previously described, Histologically, superficial perivascular dermatitis with mild to mederate vacuolar interface change was a main feature and large nucleated lymphocytes were frequently noted.

        All-Optical OR/NOR Bi-functional Logic Gate by Using Cross-gain Modulation in Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

        An OR/NOR bi-functional all-optical logic gate has been experimentally demonstrated at 10Gbit/s by using cross-gain modulation (XGM) in only 2 semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs). One SOA was used for NOR operation and the other SOA was used for inversion to obtain OR operation. Numerical simulation has also been performed, which coincided well with the experimental results.

        In the hot forging process, the forging faulty product due to strain and temperature should be controlled in order to obtain sound S/CAM forging products. The forging defects that are caused by metal were strain, temperate, and inclusion. But the control of forging defects has been based on the experience of the foundry engineers. In this paper, the computer simulation analyzed the effective plastic strain and temperature behaviors. The quantitative analyses which proposed the effective mold design of S/CAM shaft was executed. The parameters of forging shape that affected on the optimize conditions that was calculated with simple equation were investigated. it is expected that the developed analysis model and design technique would greatly contribute to the drum brake optimal design considering effective plastic strain and temperature affected behaviors.

      • 위암 수술 후 발생한 복강 내 체액 저류의 치료

        목적: 위암 수술 후 이환율 및 사망률과 관련된 인자로 복강 내 체액 저류가 보고되고 있다. 저자들은 위암 수술 후 복강 내 체액 저류가 발생한 환자군의 임상적 특징과 이에 관한 치료 방법으로 경피적 배액술을 시행한 군의 임상적 특징에 대하여 분석하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2005년 4월부터 2006년 7월까지 서울대학병 원 외과에서 위암으로 수술 받은 1,277명 환자 중 117명에 서 체액 저류가 확인되었다. 체액 저류의 치료 방법에 따 라 임상 병리학적인 인자들의 차이를 분석하였다. 결과: 복강 내 체액 저류가 확인된 117명의 병기는 1기 42 명(36.8%), 2기 23명(20.2%), 3기 16명(14%), 4기 33명(28.9%)이 었다. 수술 방법으로 위아전절제술은 38명(32.5%), 위전절제 술은 27명(23.1%), 위확대전절제술은 41명(35%)이었다. 치료 방법으로써 경피적 배액술 시행 군과 보존적 치료를 한 군 간에 나이, 성별, 동반 질환 유무, 림프절 청곽술 범위, 병기, 체질량지수 등에서 차이를 보이지 않았다(P>0.05). 그러나 복부 전산화 단층 촬영에서 체액 저류 크기가 4 cm 이상인 경우와 감염증이 있는 경우에 치료 방법으로써 경피적 배액술을 더 많이 시행하였다(P<0.05). 결론: 위암 수술 후 복강 내 체액 저류가 발생한 환자는 4기 위암 또는 타 장기 합병 절제의 경우가 많았고 체액 저류에 대하여 2/3 (41명, 35%)에서 보존적 치료로써 호전 이 되었다. 경피적 배액술은 체액 저류 크기가 4 cm 이상 일 때 또는 감염증이 있을 때 필요하다고 생각한다.

        졸-겔법을 이용한 실리카 핵을 가지는 하이브리드 안료의 제조와 잉크젯 분산 잉크로서 응용

        N-(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)-1,4-diaminoanthrquinone-2,3-dicarboximide (TESP-DADI), an organic blue pigment, has been prepared and incorporated into silica solid matrix reacting triethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) via sol-gel method. Morphology and microstructure of resulting hybrid pigment were studied employing SEM and TEM. The micrographs and particle size distributions showed that uniform pigment can be obtained employing TEOS-based sol-gel method forming silica core. Particle size distribution of dispersed pigment in water was examined using the technique of dynamic light scattering. The ensuing pigment dispersion ink was subjected to various physicochemical evaluation such as viscosity, surface tension, inkjet stability, storage stability, and color change as inkjet ink using spectrophotometric, and microscopic techniques.

        10-GHz Harmonically Mode-Locked Fiber Ring Laser Stabilized by Cavity Length Control for over 16 Hours

        We have successfully stabilized a 10-GHz harmonically mode-locked fiber ring laser for over 16 hours by feedback control of the cavity length to suppress relaxation oscillation. The laser cavity was composed of all polarization-maintaining fibers and components to eliminate polarization instabilities. The noise characteristics of the laser output were measured from the single-sideband noise spectra of the 1st and the 4th harmonics. The rms timing jitter was maintained at under 0.5 ps and the noise components were suppressed by over 50 dB when the laser was stabilized by keeping the detuning frequency within ±2 kHz.
