Background: Vaccination is the most powerful and useful preparation against infectious diseases. However, developing vaccines costs a lot and requires extensive long-term efforts. Therefore, the government should research and develop vaccines with a national-level policy. To greatly enhance the success rate of vaccine development, the policy should be set up considering priorities such as the current status of domestic research, the importance for public health, the urgency of research. Methods: The Delphi technique was utilized to draft this survey, through a brainstorming stage, then two inquiries, and finally the final panel meeting where unresolved items were discussed, to draw the conclusion. Results: Among the results, firstly, the highest ranked item on centralized fields for vaccine development by the Ministry of Health was ‘self-sufficiency of vaccines.’ Secondly, ‘emerging infectious disease’ was most highly ranked in prioritized fields of vaccine development and research. Thirdly, for the vaccine that needs to be improved and developed further by the government to improve its efficacy and safety, BCG (Bacille de Calmette) for tuberculosis was ranked the highest on both types (intradermal and subcutaneous injection) from National Immunization Programme (NIP) and non-NIP. As for the high risk pathogens, ‘anthrax’ and ‘smallpox’ were first and second, consecutively. Lastly, ‘development and control of vaccine candidates’ was ranked the highest for the area in need for technique development in order to improve domestic vaccine’s research level. Conclusion: The results of this study will be put to good use as basic data for the national vaccine research and development (R&D) policy of the country. This study was first step and more studies should be carried out for the final decision of the national vaccine R&D priority.
An attempt was carried out to suggest a nano-sized agent for durable fragrant finishing of fabrics. By adopting emulsification-diffusion method, we could prepare polystyrene (PS) aromatic nanoparticles (ANP) with lavender oil (LO) in core. Effects of process parameters on mean particle sire and its distribution of PS-ANPs were also examined. With controlled preparative condition, we could obtain PS-ANPs of diameters ranging 200 to 400 nm with narrow distribution. PS-ANPs were coated with poly(vinyl alcohol) layer to restrict the diffusion of LO from PS-ANPs. Sustained release properties of PS-ANPs were also evaluated.

This study was designed to elucidate whether combination with Korean red ginseng and Morus alba L. (MPM), traditional treatment for diabetes, ameliorates on high fructose-induced steatohepatitis and vascular inflammation. Animals were divided into four groups; Control receiving tap water, fructose-fed, rosiglitazone-treated fructose-fed rats, and MPM-treated fructose-fed rats both receiving supplemented with 60% fructose (n=10). The MPM or rosiglitazone groups initially received a high-fructose diet alone for 8 weeks, with supplementation with MPM or rosiglitazone, peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) agonist, occurring during the final 6 weeks. Treatment with MPM significantly prevented the increase in c-reactive protein (CRP) levels in the high fructose group. MPM suppressed high fructose diet-induced vascular inflammation marker expression such as intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1), and E-selectin. MPM also reduced intima/media thickness of thoracic aorta. Histologic observation and oil red O staining demonstrated hepatic tissue damage and lipid accumulation were severe in high fructose group. Treatment with MPM ameliorated hepatic tissue morphology with minimized steatosis. In addition, MPM attenuated hepatitis by inhibition of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) expression. MPM-fed group showed lower serum GOT and GPT levels comparing with high fructose group. MPM and rosiglitazone (positive control) significantly decreased the size of epididymal adipocytes. Taken together, the administration of MPM inhibited high fructose-induced steatohepatitis and vascular inflammation. These results suggested that MPM is useful in the prevention or treatment of metabolic syndrome-related disorders such as fatty acid metabolism and vascular homeostasis.
Objectives : Diabetes mellitus is the leading cause for vascular complications such as atherosclerosis. The present study is to investigate whether Doinseunggi-tang (DST) improves diabetic vascular dysfunction in type II diabetes. Methods : The db/db mice were treated with high fat/high cholesterol diet and DST (200 mg/kg/day) for 8 weeks. Results : DST significantly lowered blood glucose and systolic blood pressure. In addition, DST also markedly decreased total plasma cholesterol, triglyceride, and LDL-cholesterol, whereas increased the HDL-cholesterol. Vascular relaxation of aortic rings by acetylcholine or SNP was ameliorated by DST in a dose-dependent manner. Damage of vascular intima and hypertrophic of media was improved by DST. Immunohistological study revealed that DST attenuated the increase of ICAM-1, VCAM-1, and ET-1 expression in thoracic aorta. Conclusions : Taken together, DST suppressed hyperglycemia and diabetic vascular dysfunction in type II db/db mice. The present data suggests that Doinseunggi-tang may be prevent a development of diabetic atherosclerosis.
This paper explores intersectionality in Bruce Norris’ Clybourne Park by focusing on the oppression structure over 50 years. In Act One, the Youngers, a black family in Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, moves to the white middle-class neighborhood of Clybourne Park in 1959. Set in the same house in 2009, Act Two shows a white family moving into the black community. While the ownership of the house moves from one race to the other, the play represents the interrelated power structures caused by not only race but also gender, class, sexuality, and even disability. All the characters get suppressed and alienated from one another at the point where theses identities intersect, finally causing conflicts and disputes about discrimination. To investigate the structure of intersectional oppression, this paper explains the intersectionality theory and the concept of “matrix of domination.” Patricia Hill Collins has defined intersectionality with the notion of “matrix of domination,” which refers to the four domains that organize power structure in society, especially to black women who are doubly oppressed by both race and gender. It is also argued that the oppression structure has been changed in Act Two and that the debate over political correctness exacerbates marginalization.
This study aims to propose a prediction model for the drape coefficient using artificial neural networks and to analyze the nonlinear relationship between the drape properties and physical properties of fabrics. The study validates the significance of each factor affecting the fabric drape through multiple linear regression analysis with a sample size of 573. The analysis constructs a model with an adjusted R<sup>2</sup> of 77.6%. Seven main factors affect the drape coefficient: Grammage, extruded length values for warp and weft (m<sub>warp</sub>, m<sub>weft</sub>), coefficients of quadratic terms in the tensile-force quadratic graph in the warp, weft, and bias directions (c<sub>warp</sub>, c<sub>weft</sub>, c<sub>bias</sub>), and force required for 1% tension in the warp direction (f<sub>warp</sub>). Finally, an artificial neural network was created using seven selected factors. The performance was examined by increasing the number of hidden neurons, and the most suitable number of hidden neurons was found to be 8. The mean squared error was .052, and the correlation coefficient was .863, confirming a satisfactory model. The developed artificial neural network model can be used for engineering and high-quality clothing design. It is expected to provide essential data for clothing appearance, such as the fabric drape.
본 연구는 성인의 아동기 정서적 외상이 이상섭식태도에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 신체자비와 신체수치심의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 전국의 성인여성 292명으로부터 자료를 수집하였고, 수집된 자료는 구조방정식 모형을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동기 정서적 외상은 신체자비와는 부적상관을 나타냈고, 신체수치심과 이상섭식태도와 정적상관을 나타냈다. 둘째, 성인 여성의 아동기 정서적 외상과 이상섭식태도 간의 관계에서 신체자비와 신체수치심은 이중매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 신체수치심에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있는 심리적 매개변인으로 신체자비의 영향이 밝혀진 점에서 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 아동기 정서적 외상을 경험한 여성의 이상섭식태도에 대한 이해를 높이고 이상섭식태도를 다루는 상담 장면에서 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구가 갖는 의의와 후속연구에 대한 제언을 논의하였다. The purpose of this study was to find the mediating effect of body-compassion and body shame between evaluative concerns prescribed abnormal eating behavior of adult women in childhood. The data were collected from 292 adult women nationwide, and the data were analyzed using a structural equation model, and the results of the study were as follows. First, emotional trauma in childhood showed negative correlation with body-compassion, and positive correlation with body shame, abnormal eating attitude. Second, body-compassion and body shame were found to be double-mediated in the relationship between childhood emotional trauma and abnormal eating habits in adult women. In other words, it is meaningful in that the impact of body compassion was revealed as a psychological parameter that can positively affect body shame. The study results are useful to enhance the understanding of abnormal eating behaviors of women who have experienced childhood emotional trauma and deal with abnormal eating behaviors in counseling practices. Based on these findings, we discuss the significance of this study and its suggestions for subsequent studies.

의료의 질은 효과, 효율, 적절성, 과학적-기술적 측면 등과 같은 4가지로 정의할 수 있다. 과학적-기술적 측면의 질 관리를 위해 의료기관에서는 매년 보수교육의 형태로 최신 지견을 현장에 보급하고 있다. 하지만 최신 지견이 가장 빠르게 보급되는 연구 결과들을 단발성인 보수교육만으로 임상 현장에 충분히 보급하는 것에는 명백한 한계가 존재한다. 빅데이터, 인공지능과 같은 지능정보처리 기술이 의료 분야에 적용될 경우 기존에 문헌 조사 등으로 연구되어 적은 정보만으로 연구를 수행해야 했던 한계를 극복할 수 있다. 본 논문은 기존 약재 처방 적응증을 확장할 수 있는 근거가 되는 데이터베이스를 구축한다. 이를 위해 한의학 관련 국내외 논문 정보를 수집, 저장 관리, 분석하는 작업을 수행한다. 약재 처방전의 확장 적응증 콘텐츠 구축을 위한 한의학 근거문헌 데이터의 처리 및 분석 기법을 설계한다. 본 연구를 통해 한의학 의사결정지원시스템에서 근거기반 약재처방 주치 정보의 기본 콘텐츠로 활용할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다. The quality of medical care can be defined as four types such as effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, and scientific-technical quality. For the management of scientific-technical aspects, medical institutions annually disseminate the latest knowledge in the form of conservative education. However, there is an obvious limit to the fact that the latest knowledge is distributed quickly enough to the clinical site with only one-time conservative education. If intelligent information processing technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence are applied to the medical field, they can overcome the limitations of having to conduct research with only a small amount of information. In this paper, we construct databases on which the existing medicine prescription adaptations can be extended. To do this, we collect, store, manage, and analyze information related to oriental medicine at domestic and abroad Journals. We design a processing and analysis technique for oriental medicine evidence research data for the construction of a database of oriental medicine prescription extended adaption. Results can be used as a basic content of evidence-based medicine prescription information in the oriental medicine-related decision support services.
