The lonely deaths of the elderly is one of the various emerging social problems as the population aging of our society is accelerating. According to statistics from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, cases of lonely deaths have increased significantly since 2019. In particular, as the number of lonely deaths increases, the importance of prevention increases as well. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a smart wearable band design to prevent lonely deaths among senior citizens living alone in Korea. As for the research methods, first, we investigated the current situation of lonely deaths among the elderly living alone in Korea through a literature review. Second, we interviewed stakeholders related to the issue of lonely deaths in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, and analyzed case studies of related products and services. Third, based on the design direction and design concept derived from the stakeholder interview and case analysis, we propose a smart wearable band design and a related safety protection system concept. Smart wearable bands are used for the elderly living alone, mainly to prevent lonely deaths. It is usually used in link with a safety protection system, and if a senior citizen is in danger, it will automatically deliver the content of the threat to the safety protection system. In addition to preventing lonely deaths, it can also be used as a healthcare wearable band. The safety protection system is designed mainly for community center officials, so that they can detect danger in the homes of the elderly in the shortest time possible. Through the safety protection system, officials can immediately realize the daily situation of the elderly in their charge. As mentioned earlier, the lonely death of the elderly is an accelerating social issue. Hence, prevention work is utmost important as we might encounter unexpected consequences down the road if the neglection continues. We look forward for the research outcomes of this paper to be used as base data for preventing lonely deaths among the elderly.

병행수입 활성화 방안에 관한 연구

본 연구는 국내 수입물가 안정을 위한 정부의 유통 다변화 정책 중 하나인 병행수입 활성화 정책에 대하여 소비자가 체감할 수 있는 실질적인 병행수입 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 기존 병행수입 관련 선행연구는 지식재산권(Intellectual Property)과 관련된 법학적 측면에서 이루어졌으나, 무역의 관점에서 병행수입을 통한 경제적 측면, 소비자 후생 등에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 결과 현행 병행수입제도는 보이지 않는 정부 규제, 유통시장 구조에 따른 한계 요인이 있었으며, 이를 극복하기 위한 정책 제안, 유통구조 변화 등 실질적인 방안을 제시하였다. This study is to present practical plan to stimulate Parallel Import Policies, Which is one of the government policies to drop import prices of imported goods. Although, preliminary studies focused on legal aspects related to Intellectual Property Right, from the perspective of trade, we conducted a study on economic aspects through parallel import, consumer welfare, etc. For this study, the parallel import system of the United States and Japan was compared with Korea and the domestic parallel import market status was analyzed by comparing market price. According to the study, the current parallel import system lacked the limits of government regulation and distribution market structure. It proposed practical plans such as political suggestions and changes in distribution structure. This study is meaningful in analyzing the problem of parallel imports that currently occur in the Korea market based on data concerning parallel imports in practical terms

유라시아 랜드브리지 활용을 위한 TKR 연결 전략 수립

유라시아 대륙을 둘러 싼 주요 국가들의 관심이 고조되는 환경에서 중국은 일대일로, 러시아는 신동방정책, 미국은 신실크로드 전략, 한국은 신북방 정책을 제시하고 있다. 이러한 전략들의 공통점은 유라시아대륙을 랜드브리지로 활용하여 아시아와 유럽을 연결하는 물류 시스템을 구축하여 천연자원의 안정적 공급과 나아가 유라시아 국가들의 경제 활성화 등에 공동의 목적을 가지고 있다. 특히 우리나라는 유라시아 대륙에 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 지리적 이점을 가지고 있음에도 불구하고 북한과의 정치적 문제로 인하여 이러한 이점을 활용하지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 유라시아 대륙을 바라보는 주요 국가들의 정책을 살펴보았으며 그동안 유라시아 대륙과 관련된 문헌 및 한국의 제도적 준비 등을 살펴보았다. 이를 토대로 남북철도 연결을 위한 정책적 제언을 시도하였다. 남북철도(TKR)의 효율적인 연결 및 운영을 위한 정책으로 유라시아 대륙 진출을 위한 남북철도 연결 구축 정책으로 시범사업의 확대, 민간기업이 아닌 정부나 지자체 차원의 사업, 국제협렵기구(OSJD) 가입, 인증제도의 확립 등을 제안하였다. Many countries are implementing various policies regarding the logistics network in Eurasia, especially, China has presented “the Belt and Road”, “Act East Policy” of Russia and new Act North Policy of ROK. They are expected to have a major influence on logistical infrastructure developments in Eurasia. It is essential to connect the railroads between South and North Korea in order to the implementation of the ‘new Act North Policy’ of Korea government. This study is composed of five chapters. We explains the present conditions of Eurasia and policies of surrounding nations such as Russia, China and the ‘new Act North Policy’ of ROK. For suggesting efficient construction of TKR, we explore the policy and law of Korea and previous studies. As regards efficient construction of Eurasia Land Bridge, we proposes as follows: ⅰ) expanding of demonstration project ⅱ) rail logistics standardization ⅲ) OSJD registration ⅳ) AEO authorization etc. It is expected that this study will provide good insights to make effective policy for government and public organizations.

The Effect of a Sympathectomy Using Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation in Patients with Acute Herpes Zoster - A case report - Kyung Joon Lim. M.D., and Sang Yu Wei. M.D. Department of Anesthesiology, College of Medicine, Chosun University, Gwangju, korea Herpes zoster represents the reactivation of latent varicella-zoster virus located in the dorsal root ganglion. The virus multiplies and migrates to the skin surface producing a characteristic, usually painful, pustular eruption. Severe pain during the acute phase of herpes zoster has been associated with a higher risk of developing postherpetic neuralgia. Sympathetic ganglion blocks have been used for patients in the acute phase of herpes zoster to alleviate pain and prevent postherpetic neuralgia. We experienced 2 cases of patients with acute herpes zoster in which one of them presented with pain localized to the dermatomal distribution of L_2-3, the other T_3. The authors report the results achieved in treatment of the herpes zoster patients, using radiofrequency thermocoagulation of the sympathetic ganglion. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2001; 41: 260~264)

골관절염 환자에서 관절내 Sodium Hyaluronate(Hyruan®)의 투여가 슬관절통에 미치는 영향

Background : Sodium Hyaluronate has been found to be deficient in the synovial fluid of patients with osteoarthritis. We evaluate the effect of intraarticular Sodium Hyaluronate(Hyruan®) on the knee joint pain in patients with osteoarthritis. Method : Ten patients with osteoarthritis of the knee were participated in this study. Sodium Hyaluronate was injected into knee joints weekly for 5 weeks consecutively. Clinical evaluations were performed using visual analogue scale(VAS) for pain, tenderness and swollen joint counts weekly for the first 5 weeks and at 10 weeks postinjection. Result : VAS, tenderness and swollen joint were all significantly improved from 2 weeks to 10 weeks. There was no complication, except pain on injection site in two patients. Conclusion : Intraarticular injection of Sodium Hyaluronate has been shown to be effective on the treatment of patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.

후외측으로 탈출된 경추부 추간판 탈출증 환자에서 L’DISQⓇ를 이용한 수핵성형술 3예 -증례 보고-

Recently, various studies evaluating percutaneous cervical nucleoplasty have reported good results. Percutaneous cervical nucleoplasty has been commonly used for treating contained herniated disc or protrusion, but a posterolateral extruded disc has not been considered to be an indication. The tip of the L’DISQⓇ wand can be curved to the desired angles by the rotation of the control wheel. Therefore, L’DISQⓇ can directly access the extruded disc. We report the application of percutaneous cervical nucleoplasty by using the L’DISQⓇ in three patients with an extruded disc. Decompression was successfully performed, and the symptoms improved immediately. In one patient, a 6-month follow-up magnetic resonance imaging study showed disappearance of the extruded cervical disc. Percutaneous cervical nucleoplasty using the L’DISQⓇ can be an effective, low complication, minimally invasive procedure for treating cervical disc herniation.
