        개에서 포도껍질 섭취 후 발생한 급성신부전 치료 증례

        A 2-year-old, female, Maltese dog (3.2 kg of body weight) was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, Chungnam National University with vomiting, anorexia and depression. Twelve hours prior to the onset of clinical signs, the dog ingested some grape skins (about 60 g). Physical examination at the time of presentation showed peripheral edema and mucous pallor. Blood and blood chemical analysis revealed anemia and moderate azotemia with elevated blood urea nitrogen (107.2 mg/dl), creatinine (6.3 mg/dl) and hyperphosphatemia (11.3 mg/dl). Echogenicity of renal cortex were observred by ultrasonography. The dog was diagnosed as acute renal failure occurred by grape skin toxicosis. The dog was treated with supportive care such as fluid therapy, diuretics (furosemide) and phosphorus binder (almagate). A normal condition of blood and blood chemical findings and clinical signs was observed at five days after treatment, and prognosis is good to date.

        Probiotics Inhibit Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Interleukin-8 Secretion from Intestinal Epithelial Cells

        It has been suggested that probiotics could be useful for the prevention of symptomatic relapse in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Interleukin (IL)-8 has been well recognized as one of the pro-inflammatory cytokines that could trigger inflammation and epithelial barrier dysfunction. In this study, the anti-inflammatory effects of probiotics were investigated using a human epithelial cell line (HT-29). Probiotics from infant feces and kimchi were tested for their cytotoxicity and effects on adhesion to epithelial cells. The present results show that seven strains could form 70 % adhesion on HT-29. The probiotics used in this study did not affect HT-29 cell viability. To screen anti-inflammatory lactic acid bacteria, HT-29cells were pretreated with live and heat-killed probiotics, and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (1 μg/mL) was then added to stimulate the cells. The cell culture supernatant was then used to measure IL-8 secretion by ELISA, and the cell pellet was used to determine IL-8 and toll-like receptor (TLR-4) mRNA expression levels by RT-PCR. Some probiotics (KJP421, KDK411,SRK414, E4191, KY21, and KY210) exhibited anti-inflammatory effects through the repression of IL-8 secretion from HT-29 cells. In particular, Lactobacillus salivarius E4191, originating from Egyptian infant feces, not only decreased IL-8mRNA expression, but also decreased TLR-4 expression. These results indicate that Lactobacillus salivarius E4191 may have a protective effect in intestinal epithelial cells.

        Therapeutic Approach by Traditional Veterinary Medicine in a Case with Canine Myleomalacia: Case Report

        A 4-year-old castrated male Cocker spaniel was referred with chief complaint of pelvic limbs paralysis and trembling. This dog was diagnosed as a case of myelomalacia complicated with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) by radiography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This patient was treated by injection-AP with apitoxin, herbal medicine and moxibustion. The acupoints such as GV02-1, GV04, GV11, GV12, GV13, GV14, BL11, BL18, BL23, BL25, BL28, GB21, HT07, KI03, LI04, LU07, SI03, SI06, ST36, ST38, ST39, ST40, ST41, GB30, GB31, GB34, Liv03, SP06 and trigger points(T1~T4 and T9~L1) were used for treatment. At the session 1, the dog could not stand and move the limbs. However, gradual improvement of clinical signs was observed after 7, 14 and 21 session of treatment. Although the clinical signs related to pelvic paralysis were not completely abolished with TVM methods, this case showed the marked improvement of clinical signs after 21 sessions of treatment. In conclusion, the present patient was a case with canine myelomalacia complicated with IVDD which showed not so complete but somewhat improvement by TVM method.

        내관(PC06) 및 심수(BL15)에 대한 자침이 개의 서맥에 미치는 효과

        The objective of this study was to investigate the efficacy of needle-acupuncture (needle-AP) at PC06 andBL15 on xylazine induced bradycardia in dogs. Total 12 dogs were divided into control (4 dogs), PC06 (4 dogs)s in each group, control group was injected with xylazineonly. PC06 and BL15 groups were treated by needle-AP during 20 minutes at the same time of xylazine injection.The changes of heart rates, R-R intervals and respiratory rates were investigated on pre, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60minutes after xylazine injection..The change of heart rates in experimental PC06 and BL15 groups revealed significantincrease on 10 (p<0.05) and 20 minutes (p<0.05) after xylazine injection, compared with those of control group. Inaddition, heart rates in PC06 group showed increased value on 30 minutes (p<0.05) after xylazine injection, comparingwith those of BL15 group. The changes of respiratory rates in experimental PC06 and BL15 groups revealed significantincrease on 20 minutes (p<0.05) after xylazine injection, compared with those of control group, however, significancewas not found between experimental groups. In conclusion, needle-AP at PC06 and BL15 were effective forimprovement of xylazine induced canine bradycardia and needle-AP at PC06 was more effective than that at BL15.

        초기수위해석을 이용한 2차원 유한요소모형의 개선

        Initial condition of water surface elevation with boundary condition is required to simulate two-dimensional finite element model. In general, in order to perform two-dimensional finite element model, unrealistic initial water surface elevation which is above all-terrain bed elevation and unmatched downstream boundary condition is used, which will make it difficult to perform stably. In this study, the water surface elevation caused by the actual river bed rather than a fixed value is applied automatically as the initial condition of a two-dimensional finite element model. The algorithm to automatically extract river cross section for simulation of one-dimensional hydraulic analysis from a two-dimensional element mesh is developed. And the accuracy of twodimensional model tried to upgrade by improving the two-dimensional finite element model, which used the results of one-dimensional non-uniform analysis as the initial condition of two-dimensional model. To examine the applicability of an improved model,the model was applied to the rectangular channel with a rapid slope, mild-steep slopes channel, steep-mild slopes channel and Han River. The results of the model, which the initial water surface elevation of one-dimensional flow analysis is used, were more stably converged than those of existing model and the stability of numerical computation was improved by using physical initial water surface elevation. 2차원 유한요소모형을 수행하기 위해서는 경계조건과 함께 대상구간에 대한 초기수위를 지정하여야 한다. 일반적으로 2차원모형을 수행하기 위해 하상의 모든 지형고보다 높으면서 하류단 경계수위와 일치하지 않는 비현실적인 초기수위를 사용하게 되며, 이는 모형의 안정적인 모의를 어렵게 한다. 본 논문에서는 2차원 모형의 초기수위가 고정값이 아니라 실제 하상경사로 인해 발생하는 하천의 수위를 사용하여 2차원 유한요소모형에 자동 적용되도록 하였다. 이를 위해 2차원 요소망으로부터 1차원동수역학 해석을 수행할 수 있는 하상자료를 자동으로 추출하는 알고리듬을 개발하였고, 2차원 모형 내에서 모의된 1차원 부정부등류 해석 결과가 2차원 모형의 전체구간에 대한 초기수위로 적용될 수 있도록 2차원 유한요소모형을 개선함으로써 모형의정확도를 향상시키고자 하였다. 개선된 모형의 적용성을 검토하기 위해서 급격한 경사를 가지는 직사각형 하도, 완경사-급경사하도 그리고 급경사-완경사 하도와 같은 가상하도 및 한강 본류구간에 대해 흐름해석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 기존의 2차원 유한요소모형의 결과보다 1차원 흐름해석 결과를 초기수위로 이용한 모형의 결과가 보다 안정적으로 해에 수렴하고 있는 것을 확인함으로써 물리적인 초기 수위값의 부여로 인한 수치계산의 안전성이 향상되었음을 확인할 수 있었다.

        자연하천에서 마름/젖음 처리를 위한 격자재구성 기법의 개발 1: 모형의 개발 및 검증

        인접 Pd-MILC가 Ni-MILC에 미치는 영향

        본 연구에서는 Palladium-Metal Induced Lateral Crystallization(Pd-MILC)과 Nickel-Metal Induced Lateral Crystallization (Ni-MILC)을 동시에 사용하여 Ni-MILC의 결정화 속도를 향상시키는 방법을 제안하였다 이 방법을 사용하여 기존의 Ni-MILC 보다 거의 4배나 빠른 결정화 속도인 15 $\mu$m/h를 얻을 수 있었다. Ni과 Pd의 간격이 좁을수록 Ni-MILC의 결정화 속도가 더 빨라졌으며 Pd두께, Ni두께에, 비정질 실리콘 너비와는 큰 의존관계가 없었다. 하지만 Pd이 Ni에 의해 덮혀져 Pd-MILC가 일어나지 못하는 경우에는 이러한 현상이 발견되지 않았다. 이는 Pd물질 그 자체가 Ni-MILC를 향상시키는 것이 아니라 Pd MILC가 진행되면서 발생하는 tensile stress에 의해 향상되는 것임을 의미한다. 이와 같은 현상들을 새로운 MILC mechanism으로 설명하였다. In this study, we proposed the novel method that can crystallize the amorphous silicon by adjacent Pd-MILC enhanced Ni-MILC. With this method, the MILC rate was about 15 ${\mu}$m/h at 550$^{\circ}C$ which is four times faster than conventional MILC rate. The crystallization rate increased rapidly with the spacing between Ni and Pd decreased. And it was independent on Ni and Pd layer thickness and amorphous silicon active width. However, when Pd was capped by a Ni layer, there's no enhancement on Ni-MILC. This phenomenon implies that the enhancement of Ni-MILC rate comes from not Pd material itself but Pd-MILC induced tensile stress. We can explain these phenomena with a novel MILC mechanism.

        노인의 전자기기 사용이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 『2020년 노인실태조사』 자료를 활용하여 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 삶의 만족도와 전자기기 사용 실태를 확인하고, 노인의 전자기기 사용이 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는지 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 노인의 전자기기 사용을 목적에 따라 분류한 후, 독립표본 t-검증과 ANOVA분석을 실시하였으며, 전자기기 사용과 삶의 만족도의 관계를 알아보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 삶의 만족도는 ‘그저 그렇다’ 수준에 가까웠다. 둘째, 전자기기 사용은 전반적으로 남자가 여자보다, 연령대가 낮을수록, 교육수준이 높을수록, 독거가구보다 독거가 아닌 경우에 전자기기 사용 수준이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 전자기기 사용 목적 중 ‘타인과 교류’, ‘정보검색 및 습득’, ‘경제적 거래’는 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, ‘취미·여가’는 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 전통적 취약계층에 대한 정보화교육 강화, 전자기기를 사용한 온라인 상에서의 활동 장려, 소규모 정보화교육 실시, 전자기기를 사용하는 목적 등을 고려한 다양한 교육 프로그램 개발 등에 대한 정책적 제언을 하였다. The purpose of this study is to examine life satisfaction and electronic device usage by demographic characteristics using 『2020 Korean National Survey on Older Adults』 data. Also, to determine whether the use of electronic devices by the elderly affects their life satisfaction. For this purpose, the use of electronic devices by the elderly was first categorized by purpose. Then, independent samples t-test and ANOVA analysis were conducted. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between electronic device use and life satisfaction. The main findings are as follows. First, life satisfaction was close to the “so-so” level. Second, overall, electronic device use was higher among men than women, younger age groups, higher education levels, and non-living alone than living alone. Third, among the purposes of electronic device use, “interacting with others,” “searching and acquiring information,” and “economic transactions” were found to affect life satisfaction, but “hobbies and leisure” was not found to affect life satisfaction. Based on these results, policy recommendations were made to strengthen information technology education for traditionally vulnerable groups, encourage online activities using electronic devices, conduct small-scale information technology education, and develop various educational programs that take into account the purpose of using electronic devices.
