mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and root dentin, and cytotoxicity on murine macrophage. Materials and Methods: OrthoMTA (BioMTA) was mixed and packed into the human root dentin blocks of 1.5 mm diameter and 5 mm height. Four groups, each of ten roots, were exposed to 10% citric acid (CA), 5% glycolic acid (GA), 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), and saline for five minutes after setting of the OrthoMTA. Vickers surface microhardness of set MTA and dentin was measured before and after exposure to solutions, and compared between groups using one-way ANOVA with Tukey test. The microhardness value of each group was analyzed using student t test. Acid-treated OrthoMTA and dentin was examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM). Cell viability of tested solutions was assessed using WST-8 assay and murine macrophage. Results: Three test solutions reduced microhardness of dentin. 17% EDTA demonstrated severe dentinal erosion, significantly reduced the dentinal microhardness compared to 10% CA (p = 0.034) or 5% GA (p = 0.006). 10% CA or 5% GA significantly reduced the surface microhardness of set MTA compared to 17% EDTA and saline (p < 0.001). Acid-treated OrthoMTA demonstrated microporous structure with destruction of globular crystal. EDTA exhibited significantly more cellular toxicity than the other acidic solutions at diluted concentrations (0.2, 0.5, 1.0%). Conclusions: Tested acidic solutions reduced microhardness of root dentin. Five minute’s application of 10% CA and 5% GA significantly reduced the microhardness of set OrthoMTA with lower cellular cytotoxicity compared to 17% EDTA.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of increased irradiation distance on the flexural strength (FS), dentin micro-shear bond strength (μSBS), and the degree of conversion (DC) of bulk-fill flowable, conventional flowable, and packable resin composites. Methods: The resin composites tested were Surefil® SDR™ (SDR), Filtek Z350 XT Flowable Restorative A2 shade (Z3F), and Filtek Z350 XT Universal Restorative A2 shade (Z3P). Specimens were cured at four irradiation distances (0, 2, 4, and 8 mm) with an Elipar DeepCure-S LED curing light for 20 s. FS tests were performed (n= 15) using bar-shaped specimens (8 mm × 2 mm × 2 mm) of the resin composites. μSBS tests were performed on the occlusal surfaces of extracted third molars from humans that were ground to expose dentin (n= 15). DC was measured by using Raman spectroscopy on the top and bottom surfaces of disk specimens (2-mm thick) (n= 3). To further investigate whether extended irradiation times could compensate for reduced irradiance, additional Z3P specimens were prepared, which were light-cured at 8-mm distances for 40 and 60 s and subjected to FS tests, μSBS tests, and Raman spectroscopy. Both two-way and one-way ANOVA were used for statistical analyses. Results: Both FS and DC of Z3P specimens cured at an 8-mm distance were significantly lower than those cured at shorter distances (p < 0.05), whereas the FS and DC of the Z3F and SDR specimens were not significantly influenced by increasing distances. The μSBSs of the three types of resin composites reduced with increasing irradiation distances. The FS, μSBS, and DC of the Z3P specimen light-cured at 8 mm for 40 s were comparable to those of the Z3P specimen cured at 0 mm for 20 s. Conclusions: Increasing the irradiation distance to 8 mm can have a deleterious influence on mechanical performances, including the FS, DC, and dentin μSBS, of the resin composites polymerized with high-irradiance light curing units
Periodontal regenerative therapy in endo-periodontal lesions: a retrospective study over 5 years
오소람,정신혜,한지영 대한치주과학회 2019 Journal of Periodontal & Implant Science Vol.49 No.2
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate clinical and radiographic changes and the survival rate after periodontal surgery using deproteinized bovine bone mineral (DBBM) with 10% collagen or DBBM with a collagen membrane in endo-periodontal lesions. Methods: A total of 52 cases (41 patients) with at least 5 years of follow-up were included in this study. After scaling and root planing with or without endodontic treatment, periodontal regenerative procedures with DBBM with 10% collagen alone or DBBM with a collagen membrane were performed, yielding the DBBM + 10% collagen and DBBM + collagen membrane groups, respectively. Changes in clinical parameters including the plaque index, bleeding on probing, probing pocket depth, gingival recession, relative clinical attachment level, mobility, and radiographic bone gains were evaluated immediately before periodontal surgical procedures and at a 12-month follow-up. Results: At the 12-month follow-up after regenerative procedures, improvements in clinical parameters and radiographic bone gains were observed in both treatment groups. The DBBM + 10% collagen group showed greater probing pocket depth reduction (4.52±1.06 mm) than the DBBM + collagen membrane group (4.04±0.82 mm). However, there were no significant differences between the groups. Additionally, the radiographic bone gain in the DBBM + 10% collagen group (5.15±1.54 mm) was comparable to that of the DBBM + collagen membrane group (5.35±1.84 mm). The 5-year survival rate of the teeth with endo-periodontal lesions after periodontal regenerative procedures was 92.31%. Conclusions: This study showed that regenerative procedures using DBBM with 10% collagen alone improved the clinical attachment level and radiographic bone level in endo-periodontal lesions. Successful maintenance of the results after regenerative procedures in endo-periodontal lesions can be obtained by repeated oral hygiene education within strict supportive periodontal treatment.

임소람(Lim, Soram),정세환(Chung, Sehwan),지석호(Chi, Seokho),송준호(Song, Junho) 대한토목학회 2016 대한토목학회 학술대회 Vol.2016 No.10

‘Haptic Visuality’ is the perceptual concept which based on the objective sense of body that is consistently changing due to the individual situation. The aim of this study is to figure out that "Haptic Visuality" could be the driving force of the process that makes atmosphere in memory to real architecture with tracing the sequences in Peter Zumthor"s design and user"s experience especially on water in Therme Vals. From his process, ‘Atmosphere’ in architect’s memory turns into a universal form which includes sensory information that based on the human body. ‘Memory?Image?Reality’ phase can preserve memory and substantialize it into a building. Therefore, by analyzing this process can be a valid suggestion about what makes architecture to form a close relationship with human body and by considering "Haptic Visual Phenomena in Architecture’ helps people to be touched in it.
