Recently many researchers focus on thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPV) materials and also try to replace EPDM with TPV because of its reusability, and processibility. Research trends of weatherstrips for automotives in the world go for microcellular foam material using the supercritical system that make nitrogen gas to supercritical fluid. It is noted that supercritical fluid (SCF) state insert into injector part of extruder then well mixed to form single phase. SCF equipment make blowing agents such as CO₂, N₂ very effectively diffuse into polymer resin. In present study we try to find the relations between cell size and processing condition which are screw revolution per minute (RPM), temperatures, flow rate of nitrogen at SCF system. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to analysis cell morphology. We measured some kinds of properties like compression set, density, non-flammability, and tensile strength properties of microcellular TPV sheet. The experimental results showed that cell number density per unit area decreased and density increase with increasing screw RPM. We find that the pressure drop at the end of dies play a strong role to form microcelluar cell structure, and cell uniformity.
