Hot stamping is the most efficient manufacturing process to produce high strength automotive parts with reduced springback. Recently, 30MnB5 steel has been developed for hot stamping steel which can provide above 1700 MPa. However, resistance spot weldability of this steel is insufficient due to the need for a large amount of carbon addition. In this study, the effect of the hot stamping heat treatment temperature on resistance spot weldability of Al-10% Si coated 30MnB5 was evaluated to improve the resistance spot weldability of 30MnB5. In terms of nugget diameter, weldable current range, tensile shear strength and cross tension strength, the specimen heat treated at 850 oC achieved better performance than the specimen heat treated at 950 oC. There was a coating microstructure difference between the specimens heat treated at 850 oC and 950 oC whereas both specimens had similar microstructure and mechanical properties of their substrates. The Fe-rich layer of the specimen heat treated at 950 oC was twice as thick as the specimen heat treated at 850 oC because the diffusion rate was much higher at 950 oC. The thick Fe-rich layer deteriorated the resistance spot weldability due to high electrical resistivity during resistance spot welding.
영재교육기관 컨설팅에 대한 영재교육 이해관계자의 관심도 연구

This study examined whether there were differences in stakeholders' concerns regarding consulting in gifted education institutes. A total of 122 stakeholders in gifted and talented education responded to SoCQ(the Stage of Concerns Questionnaire, Hall & Hord, 2011). The SoCQ responses of these stakeholders to consulting for gifted education institutes were converted into relative intensities and SoCQ profiles, which were analyzed by the affiliated areas of institute, teaching years in gifted education, continuities of affairs in gifted education, and approaches to teacher training for gifted education with using t-test and one-way analysis of variance. Results indicated that stakeholders generally showed the highest concern for stage 1(information) and the lowest concerns for stage 4(consequence), which were the initial stage of change and innovation in consulting for gifted education institutes. In the meanwhile, skakeholders having training program for professionals showed the more concern for stage 6(refocusing), which was a kind of resistance for the present consulting for gifted education institutes. On the based on these results, this study suggested ways(or methods) for settlement and the diffusion of successful gifted education consulting. 본 연구는 영재교육기관 컨설팅에 대한 관심도를 조사하기 위하여, 영재교육 이해관계자를 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 122명의 이해관계자가 SoCQ(The Stages of Concerns Questionnaire, Hall & Hord, 2011)에 응답하였으며, Hall과 Hord(2011)의 채점표(SoCQ scoring device)를 활용하여 이해관계자의 응답 반응을 상대적 강도(relative intensity)로 환산하였다. 본 연구는 영재교육 이해관계자의 특성(소속기관, 영재교육경력, 영재업무 지속여부, 영재 연수유형)에 따른 영재교육기관 컨설팅에 대한 관심도를 살펴보기 위하여 t 분석과 일원분산분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 영재교육 이해관계자들은 1단계(정보)에 대한 관심이 가장 높고, 4단계(결과)에 대한 관심이 가장 낮은 변화초기 단계의 양상을 보여주었다. 한편, 전문가 연수를 받은 이해관계자들은 6단계(재조정)에 대한 관심도가 높게 나타나, 영재교육기관 컨설팅에 대하여 저항을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구에서는 연구결과에 기초하여 성공적인 영재교육기관 컨설팅을 정착하고 확산하는 방안을 제안하였다.

Joint strength prediction of multiple blind rivet connections with macroscopic model

Here, we present a macroscopic model of a blind rivet joint. To develop this model, the load-displacement curves of the blind rivet joint in the tensile and shear directions were measured by a single lap shear test, and a cross-tension test and optimization process were conducted. The model enables us to simulate various blind joint connections in components with high efficiency and accuracy and propose a specific joint strength per unit joint from the simulation results. Moreover, we analyzed the effect of the tensile strength and thickness of the plate on the joint strength per unit joint. As a result, we provide a prediction method for the number of joints for the component along with the proposed joint strength per unit joint for various materials and plate thicknesses.
Congenital Internal Hernia Presented with Life Threatening Extensive Small Bowel Strangulation

Internal hernia (IH) is a rare cause of small bowel obstruction occurs when there is protrusion of an internal organ into a retroperitoneal fossa or a foramen in the abdominal cavity. IH can be presented with acute or chronic abdominal symptom and discovered by accident in operation field. However, various kinds of imaging modalities often do not provide the assistance to diagnose IH preoperatively, but computed tomography (CT) scan has a high diagnostic accuracy. We report a case of congenital IH in a 6-year-old boy who experienced life threatening shock. CT scan showed large amount of ascites, bowel wall thickening with poor or absent enhancement of the strangulated bowel segment. Surgical exploration was performed immediately and had to undergo over two meters excision of strangu-lated small bowel. To prevent the delay in the diagnosis of IH, we should early use of the CT scan and take urgent operation. (Pediatr Gastroenterol Hepatol Nutr 2013; 16: 190∼194)
Factors affecting shrinkage voids in advanced high strength steel (AHSS) resistance spot welds

Among various defects formed in resistance spot welds of advanced high strength steels (AHSS), shrinkage voids are seldomly studied. Apparently, the voids are thought to be formed towards the end of solidification due to the material volumetric shrinkage. Although, the voids are reported to be influenced by rich material chemistry of AHSS, the exact mechanism of its formation in RSW is yet to be understood. Hence, this paper attempts to study the influence of various RSW parameters on the void size and its formation mechanism. Computed tomography (CT) technique was utilized to visualize and quantify the void formed in a nugget and to study the influence of resistance welding parameters such as weld current, squeeze force and non-welding factors such as sheet thickness material strength on the void volume. A comprehensive analysis reveal that the parameters such as weld current (nugget size), sheet thickness and sheet strength had direct influence on the void volume, but the influence of electrode squeeze force was dependent on the nugget size. Besides, an attempt was also made to develop an empirical relation for the prediction of void volume formed in resistance spot welds of AHSS utilizing the results of present study.
