        The differences of the liver scintigraphic features between postnecrotic and nonpostnecrotic liver cirrhosis were studied for 69 patients. Degrees of mottling and splenomegaly were no different between two groups but shrinked form was more frequent finding in postnecrotic type(23:10), and normal shape & enlarged left lobe with shrinked right lobe were relatively dominant in non-postnecrotic group(15:6, 10:2). Grade of extrahepatic uptake of ^99mTc-tin colloid was significantly higher in Child-Pugh B & C group than A group(p<0.05), but there was no difference between postnecrotic and non-postnecrotic groups. These will be important results on the dicision for the presence of cirrhosis according to the variable causes.

      • 비타민 E·C의 복합섭취가 최대운동수행력에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of combined vitamin E.C supplementation on maximal exercise performance. 7 young healthy male students were participated in the maximal exercise test before and after 5 weeks vitamin supplementation. Maximal exercise test was performed on the treadmill with a kattus protocol until subjects were exhausted. During maximal exercise test, oxygen uptake per kilogram as well as maximal oxygen uptake was measured with automatic gas analyzer at rest, at every 3 minutes, and from exercise begining to exhaustion, exercise endurance time was measured. Oxygen uptake per kilogram as well as maximal oxygen uptake after vitamin supplementation was increased at all exercise stages, but it was not significant. Exercise endurance time after vitamin supplementation was significantly increased (P<.05).

      • IL-1 수용체를 통한 T세포 활성화에 Genistein 과 Staurosporin이 미치는 영향

        Stimulation of T-cells through TCR/CD3 complex alone is known to be not enough but also require a costimulatory signal, such as IL-1 stimulation. to induce IL-2 production. In this report, we studied the differential effects of staurosporin (a PKC inhibitor) and genistein (a PTK inhibitor) on the IL-2 production by EL-4 and A2.5 cells, to determine which pathway is responsible for IL-1 receptor signal transduction. While staurosporin suppressed the IL-2 production induced in EL-4 cells upon PMA stimulation but not upon PHA plus IL-1, genistein inhibited the IL-2 production induced by PHA plus IL-1 but not by PMA. Genistein also completey abrogated the IL-2 production by A2.5 cell when stimulated with PHA and IL-1. These results suggest that the costimulatory signal by IL-1, which leads to IL-2 production and proliferation, is closely linked to the PTK activity in T cells.

      • 개선된 직렬승산기 설계에 관한 연구

        본 논문에서는 쌍대기저상에서 수행되는 Berlekamp의 비트 직렬승산(bit-serial multiplication) 알고리듬을 기초로 하여 개선된 쌍대기저 승산기를 설계한다. 이를 위해 본 논문의 수학적 기반이 되는 유한체상에서의 트레이스(trace) 특성에 대해 고찰하고, 이를 기초로 하여 Berlekamp의 비트직렬승산알고리듬 기술과 개선된 승산알고리듬을 ??상에서 설계한다. 본 승산기는 두 입력 원소에 대해 모두 쌍대기저표현되므로 설계시 기저변환이 필요없다는 이점을 갖는다. 또한 Reed-Solomon(이하RS) 부호의 비트직련부호기에 대응되는 복호기 구성시, 오중생성기를 직렬화시키는 회로를 유한체 ??상의 (31,27) RS 부호에 적용시켜 설계한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 승산기는 RS 부호의 부호기 및 복호기 설계시 직접 적용이 가능하며, 다른 기존의 설계방법에 의한 것보다 훨씬 간단한 하드웨어 장치화가 가능할 것으로 기대된다. We propose an improved dual basis multiplier based on Berlekamp's bit-serial multiplication algorithm. For implementation of this scheme, the conception of trace and dual basis will be introduced in detail. The proposed multiplier is designed over the finite ??. This multiplier offers advantages for implementation using the same dual basis representation for two input elements. Also, for the decoding of a Reed-Solomon code which is matched to bit-serial Reed-Solomon encoder, the conventional RS syndrome generators will be converted into the bit-serial manner. The improved bit-serial multiplier discussed here can also be applied to design of the CODEC of Reed-Solomon codes. It is expected from our results that the RS encoder and decoder using the propose multiplication algorithm requires substantially less hardware any other kind of CODEC design.

      • 오류정정부호를 이용한 스트림 암호시스템에 관한 연구

        본 논문에서는 스트림 암호시스템의 종류와 오류전파 특성에 대해 분석한다. 또한, 암호문 전송중 전송로상에서 발생하는 오류를 제어할 목적으로 DSEC(31,27) RS 부호를 암호문 귀환 암호시스템에 내부오류제어 및 외부오류제어로 분류하여 적용하고 오류정정과정을 분석한다. In this paper, the stream cipher systems and the error propagation are analyzed. During the ciphertext transmission, for the error control of errors occurred in the channel, the DSEC(31,27) RS codes will be used for both internal and external error controls for the self-synchronizing cipher system with ciphertext feedback.

      • 다공질 규소의 라만 산란

        양극반응 전류밀도를 변화시키면서 다공질 규소를 제작하여 라만산란을 관측하였다. 전류밀도가 증가함에 따라 라만신호는 520.5㎝-₁에서 멀어졌으며, 봉우리의 반치폭이 증가하였다. 또한 전류밀도 증가에 따라 원통형 다공질 결정의 직경은 감소함이 계산되었으며, 길이가 길어짐을 AFM으로 관찰하였다. The Raman scattering was studied from the porous silicons which were made by changing anodization current. As the current density was increased, it was observed that Raman was gradually far from the value of 520.5 cm ̄¹and the full width half maximum increased. The decrease of radius of cylindrical porous crystal was calculated and the increase of its length was investigated through AFM.

      • 급성신우신염의 임상적 고찰

        A clinical retrospective study was undertaken in 81 patients with acute pyelonephritis admitted to the Department of Internal Medicine, Chungnam National University Hospital from January 1983 to December 1989. The results were as follows : 1. Total number of patients studied was 81(M/F ratio, 1 : 4.4). The M/F ratio of 22 complicated patients (27.2%) was 1 : 2.7 2. The predisposing factors associated with complicated patients were as follows : 7 cases of urinary tract stone, 7 cases of pregnancy, 4 cases of neurogenic bladder and each one case of prostatic hypertrophy, ureter cancer, bladder diverticulum and polycystic kidney disease. 3. The common subjective symptoms on admission were fever and chills, frank pain, nausea and vomiting. High body temperature and CVA tenderness were noted in 61% and 95% of patients respectively. And 50.6% of patients revealed right CVA tenderness and 28.4% in left, 16% in both respectively. There was no difference in symptoms and signs between complicated and uncomplicated groups 4. In 50 patients(61.7%) microorganisms were isolated on the urine culture specimens. The most common organism was E. coli(80%), and followed by Staphylococcus aureus and Serratia odorifera. E coli was the most frequent pathogen in both female and male patients, and in complicated and uncomplicated groups. (In sensitivity test of complicated and uncomplicated groups). In sensitivity test of causative pathogens to antibiotics, E coli was sensitive to amikacin(93%), tobramycin(83.3%) and gentamycin(79.4%) and 88.9 percent of E coli were ressistant to ampicillin 5. In urinary examination on admission, pyuria was noted in 81% of patients, and proteinuria and microscopic hematuria were noted in 68% and 44% of patients respectively. 6. Within 3 days after antibiotics treatment deference was occured in 73.5% of total patients, and complicated patients revealed delayed defeverence compared to uncomplicated ones.

      • 지속성 외래 복막투석 환자의 복막염

        CAPD has established itself as an effective method maintaining the patients with end stage renal disease. CAPD peritonitis is one of the most important complication of peritoneal dialysis. We analyzed the incidence, pathogens, and outcome of the peritonitis, of the 95 patients who underwent CAPD at CNUH from January 1993 to July 1998. The result were as follows : 1) A total of 72 episodes of peritonitis occurred during this periods. The incidence of peritonitis were 0.64/patient/year. 2) The first episode of peritonitis was occurred within a year in 75%, within two year in 95.8%. 3) The rate of positive and negative culture were 27.8% and 72.2% respectively. Gram positive organisms were cultured in 60%, Gram negative organisms in 40%. S. aureus were most prevalent organisms(30%). 4) The cure rate were 83.3% in Gram positive organisms and 62.5% in negative organisms. 5) Peritoneal catheter were removed in 18 cases. Among them, 7 cases are due to peritonitis. In conclusion, improved technology and increasing patients' effort to careful management of catheter will reduce the incidence of peritonitis.

      • 과학적 실재론과 과학이론의 변화

        Ⅰ. Positivism argues that the change of seientific theory is proceeded by substitution, subsumption and extension. It's argument is based on the assumption that scientific theory is logically systematized by the formal system. Ⅱ. Kuhn and Feyerabend criticised against the positivist argument in the change of scientific theory. They argue that there are incommonsurability in the history of science. On the base of the incommonsurability. , they explain that later scientific theory does not have subsuned the older scientific theory in terms of substitution and extension. But their arguments are resulted in relativism or anarchism. Ⅲ. Seientific realism criticizes the positivism's argument. For the instrumentalism is logically followed from the positivism's argument on the basis of assumption that there are theory-neutral observational term in scientific theory. From this point, scientific realism have accepted Kuhnian argument. But they differ in opinion with Kuhn and Feyerabend due to their relativism and anarchism. Scientific realism interpreted micro-physical theory realistically. According to their argument, a statement in the micro-physical theory corresponds to the real world like the way that a statement in the macro-physical theory corresponds to the real world. For scientific theory describes the real world. Therefore a statement in the micro-physical theory is true or false as like as a statement in the macro-physical theory. They conclude that there is convergence in the change of scientific theory. Ⅳ. Luntley and Putnam opposed against scientific realism in that they have assumed the truth as nonepistemic (transcendental) concept. Luntley criticizes the scientific realism in the point that all statement must not be necessarily true or false. Of course, he argues that theoretical terms noninferentially refer to theoretical entities and that theoretical entities exist without the inference fron the observational statements. He devlops his arguments through the objection against instrumentalism. He accepts that a scientific statement with the effecitve procedure (e.g. epistemic skill) is true or false, but other statements with noneffective procedure necessarily must not be true or false. Therefore he accepts that there may be nondecidable sentence in scientific theory. But he says that the suggestion that there are nondecidable sentence in scientific theory does not imply that theoretical entity which theoretical term in such sentences refers to is 'not-real', but nondecidable. Also he objects that there is convergence in the change of scientific theory because convergence assumed the truth as the transcendental non-epistemic concept. Ⅴ. Putnam agrees with Luntley in that there are absurdity in scientific realism that assumed truth as nonepistemic concept, but differently argues that there is convergence in the change of scientific theory. Putnam criticizes the arguments of the scientific realism about truth through his 'brains-in-a-vat' argument and model-theoretic interpretaion. He regards truth as ideal justification and identifies truth with warranted assertability. He explains that truth is relative to theoretical system. But he argues that there is convergence in the change of scientific theory because the stability of reference is preserved despite scientific changes by means of the principle of benefit of the doubt. Ⅵ. As Luntley and Putnam attack on the scientific reailism, scientific realism accepts their criticism, or continuously argues that explanatory power of scientific theory assumes truth as nonepistemically primitive concept.
