Uterus didelphys with unilateral obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis usually presents after menarch with progressive abdominal pain during menses secondary to hematocolpos, and indeed a very rare congenital anomaly due to Mullerian duct malformation. An accurate and prompt diagnosis is of importance to permit treatment and to assure the future fertility of the patient. Pelvic ultrasound, physical examination and pelvic MRI established a diagnosis of hematometracolpos secondary to uterus didelphys with unilateral imperforate hemivagina. An incision in the vaginal septum allowed drainage of the hematocolpos, providing relief of the patients symptoms. We report two case of uterus didelphys with obstructed hemivagina with brief review of the literature.

Ectopic eruption is caused by an abnormal direction of eruptive path, most common in maxillary first molar, mandibular lateral incisor, and maxillary canine, and sometimes mandibular first molar. Ectopic eruption of first molar leads to abnormal root resorption of second deciduous molar, which, if left untreated, could cause premature loss of second deciduous molar; mesial tilting and rotation of first permanent molar; lack of space for eruption of second premolar; and occlusal problems. Therefore early treatment is advised when diagnosed as ectopic eruption. Treatment of ectopic eruption in the first permanent molar involves providing proper guidance for the direction of eruption using interproximal wedging and distal tipping methods while preserving second deciduous molar. This case report shows satisfactory results of the ectopic eruption of mandibular first molars in young patients who were treated with Humphrey appliance and Halterman appliance. 이소맹출은 치아가 비정상적인 위치로 맹출하는 경우를 말하며, 주로 상악 제1대구치, 하악 측절치, 상악 견치에서 발생하며 하악 제1대구치에서는 드물게 발생한다. 제1대구치의 이소맹출은 흔히 제2유구치의 비정상적인 치근흡수를 야기하며, 이를 방치하게 되면 제2유구치의 조기상실, 제1대구치의 근심경사 및 회전, 제2소구치의 맹출 공간 부족 및 교합문제 등을 야기하게 되므로 이소맹출로 진단될 경우 조기 치료가 추천된다. 이소맹출은 대개 통상적인 방사선검사를 통해 발견되나, 간혹 제2유구치의 치근흡수가 심할 경우 치수가 감염되어 동통을 야기하는 경우도 있다. 이소맹출의 치료는 제2유구치를 보존하면서 제1대구치의 맹출 방향을 바로 잡아 주는 것으로 크게 치간이개(interproximal wedging)와 원심경사이동(distal tipping)을 이용한 방법을 사용한다. 본 증례들은 하악 제1대구치의 이소맹출을 보이는 환아들로, Humphrey appliance와 Halterman appliance를 이용하여 양호한 치료 결과를 얻었기에 보고하는 바이다.

이 연구는 한국과 다른 나라의 치매환자의 지원과 관련한 장기요양보험제도에 대해 분석하였다. 이것은 치매노인과 장기요양보험제도에 대해 책, 세미나 공지와 인터넷 자료들을 참고로 한 문헌 고찰로, 선진국의 관리시스템과 치매 노인을 위한 장기요양보험제도에 대해 비교하여 해결책을 찾았다. 앞으로 좀 더 깊은 이해를 바탕으로 다양한 정책 제안을 도모하여야겠다. The Purpose of this study is to analyze the support for dementia elderly in Long-term Care Insurance System of Korea and other nations. This is a literature review with books, seminar notice and internet research for dementia elderly and Long-term Care Insurance System. Future technologies based on deeper understanding and disseminating the various policy proposals there.

The average indoor concentration of the library's TSP was 0.03 ng/m³. TAB in library and lounge in college of engineering showed higher concentrations in corridors than indoors. The correlation coefficient between TAB and humidity is 0.985, so it is judged that there is a significant need for humidity control in indoor air quality management to reduce the concentration of total suspended bacteria(p<0.01).
차전초 잎의 물 추출물이 고지방식이로 비만 유도된 C57BL/6 생쥐의 체지방 감소에 미치는 영향

Objective : Plantago asiatica L. has been used for many years in Korea, China, and Japan for the treatment of many diseases such as anti-inflammatory, anti-asthma and diuretic. But the anti-obesity effect of Plantaginis asiaticae Folium has not been studied yet. Thus, this study aimed to demonstrate the anti-obesity efficacy of Plantaginis asiaticae Folium water extract (PAF) in high fat diet-induced obesity animal model. Method : Male, five-weeks old C57BL/6 mice were divided into 5 groups; ND (normal diet + 0.9% saline), HFD (highfat diet + 0.9% saline), PC (high-fat diet + Garcinia cambogia 500 ㎎/㎏), PAF 100, 300 (high-fat diet + PAF 100, 300 ㎎/㎏. Treatments were performed daily for 6 weeks per os. We evaluated the changes of body weight, white adipose tissues weight, hepatic and fecal lipids level, pancreatic lipase activity and lipid profiles in plasma. Result : Body weights, adipose tissue weights and FER were significantly lower in mice fed the high-fat diet with PAF treatment than in mice fed the high-fat diet alone. In plasma, TG, TC, LDL-C, ATS and ALT levels significantly decreased in PAF groups compared with HFD group. Also, hepatic triglyceride (TG) levels decreased and fecal TG increased in PAF groups compared to HFD group. In addition, the activity of pancreatic lipase was decreased in the PAF groups compared to that of HFD group. Conclusion: These results suggest PAF extract is effective in preventing and improvement obesity, so it might be a potential and safe material for anti-obesity agent of weight control or functional supplements.
The Effect of ZD 1839 (Iressa) in the Treatment of RefractoryNon Small Cell Lung Cancer

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate theefficacy and the safety of ZD 1839 (Iressa) as a 3rd or4th line chemotherapy regimen in NSCLC patients whoare refractory to a previous chemotherapy regimen.Materials and Methods: Twenty-five patients who wererefractory to previous chemotherapy were selected forthis study. The eligible patients had an ECOG performancestatus of 0 to 2, and an appropriate end organfunction. ZD 1839 (Iressa) 250 mg/d was orally administereduntil the patients experienced disease progressionor unacceptable toxicity.Results: Twenty-five patients were analyzed. The medianage of the patients was 57 years. The response ratewas 12.0% with partial responses in 3 patients. Fourteenpatients (56%) remained in the stable disease state and8 patients progressed. The median overall survival was9.0 months (95% CI 6.7~11.2). The median progressionfree survival was 3 months (95% CI 2.2~3.8). Hematologicaltoxicities of grade 3 or 4 neutropenia, anemia andthrombocytopenia were absent. Non-hematological toxicitieswere grade 2 or 3 skin rashes in 10 (40.0%) patientsand 1 (4.0%) patient and grade 3 nausea in 3 (12.0%) patients.No patient failed to continue chemotherapy due toany drug-related adverse events.Conclusion: The results suggest that ZD 1839 (Iressa)monotherapy is effective and tolerable as a 3rd or 4th linesalvage treatment for NSCLC patients refractory to previouschemotherapy regimens. <P>Interleukin (IL)-33 is a recently described pro-inflammatory cytokine. Here we demonstrate IL-33 as a regulator of functional osteoclasts (OCs) from human CD14(+) monocytes. IL-33 stimulates formation of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP)(+) multinuclear OCs from monocytes. This action was suppressed by anti-ST2 antibody, suggesting that IL-33 acts through its receptor ST2, but not by the receptor activator of NF-κB ligand (RANKL) decoy, osteoprotegerin, or anti-RANKL antibody. IL-33 stimulated activating phosphorylations of signaling molecules in monocytes that are critical for OC development. These included Syk, phospholipase Cγ2, Gab2, MAP kinases, TAK-1, and NF-κB. IL-33 also enhanced expression of OC differentiation factors including TNF-α receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6), nuclear factor of activated T cells cytoplasmic 1, c-Fos, c-Src, cathepsin K, and calcitonin receptor. IL-33 eventually induced bone resorption. This study suggests that the osteoclastogenic property of IL-33 is mediated through TRAF6 as well as the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif-dependent Syk/PLCγ pathway in human CD14(+) monocytes.</P>
