        Effects of Gibberellic Acid and Abscisic Acid on Proteolysis of Senescing Leaves from Rice Seedlings

        The effect of gibberellic acid ($GA_3) and abscisic acid (ABA) on KCl-enhanced proteolysis of senescing leaves of rice(Oryza sativa L. cv. Chilsung) was studied. Emphasis was given to their effects on KCI-enhanced efflux of amino acids and proteinase activity. When treated singly, $GA_3 affected leaf proteolysis little, while ABA increased proteolysis, the rate of amino acid efflux, and ribulose -1,5 -bisphosphate carboxylase / oxygenase (Rubisco)-degrading endoproteinase activity. An additive increase in all three parameters mentioned above was observed when leaves were treated with ABA and KCl. No such an additive effect was found when $GA_3 was treated with KCl. Both $GA_3 and ABA helped to alleviate the KCI-suppressed activity of Rubisco-degrading exoproteinases. The additive increase in proteolysis of rice leaves in the presence of both ABA and KCl could thus be ascribed to a further increase in the efflux of protein hydrolyzates and Rubisco-degrading endoproteinase activity. An increase in proteolysis was accompanied by a decrease in water absorption, and the combined treatment of ABA with KCl resulted in a further reduction of water absorption.

        노화 수도유묘엽의 단백질분해에 미치는 GA3 과 ABA의 영향

        수도 여절편의 단백질함량 감소는 KCI처리에 의해 촉진된다. 본 연구는 KCI이 증가 시키는 단백질 분해작용을 더욱 촉진시키기 위한 시도의 하나로 GA3 와 ABA를 KCI과 혼합처리한 다음, 이들이 노화엽의 단백질 분해작용을 조절하는 기작을 구명하기 위하여 수행하였다. 파종후 16~18일된 실행의 제2본엽을 5cm 길이로 잘라 test 용액에 배양하는 8일간 단백질, aminotks, 흡수량, 단백질 분해효소의 활성과 단백질 분해산물인 aminotks의 유출량 변화 드을 조사하였다. 1. GA3 단독처리는 잎의 단백질 감소에 큰 영향을 미치지 않았고, KCI과 혼합처리되어도 KCI 단독처리와 비교할 때 유의적인 변화를 유기하지 않았다. 그러나 ABA 단독처리는 단백질분해, amino산의 유출 및 endoproteinase 활성을 현저히 증가시켰고, ABA와 KCI의 혼합처리는 이들의 증가에 상조적이었다. 2. KCI은 Rubisco를 분해하는 exoproteinases의 활성을 감소시키는데 반해 GA3 나 ABA 첨가는 모두 이의 감소를 완화시키는 효과가 있었다. 그러나 KCI이 처리된 잎의 endoproteinase 활성은 ABA와의 혼합처리에 의해서만 상조적인 증가를 나타내어 이러한 효과가 없는 GA3 와는 그 기능이 대조적이었다. 3. 배양기간중 잎의 흡수량이 낮을수록 단백질 감소량이 많고 그 속도도 빨랐다.         왕고들빼기"선향"MAP에 적합한 저장온도 및 OTR 필름 구명

        These studies were conducted to identify the proper temperature and the effects of laser ablation OTR (oxygen transmission rate) film on storability of Lactuca indica L.‘Seonhyang’. Respiration rate in 2℃ and 8℃ was low (20CO2mg/kg/hr). We used 3,000 cc, 5,000 cc, 7,000 cc and 10,000 cc/m2·day·atm OTR films in this research. Fresh weight loss rate was less than 1.0% in all OTR films and storage temperatures. This was lower in the low temperature. The change of oxygen and carbon dioxide contents in packing show the normal trend. The more oxygen transmission rate rises, the more oxygen contents rises. On the contrary to this, the carbon dioxide contents became low. The more temperature rise, the less oxygen contents and the more carbon dioxide contents became. Visual quality had the long storage times for sail in the low storage temperature and the low oxygen transmission rate film. Following these results, it comes to conclusion the suitable type of OTR film such as 3,000 cc and 5,000 cc for MA storage of Lactuca indica L.‘Seonhyang’ in 2℃ low temperature and storage time was 40 days.

      • Potential probiotic Lactobacillus plantarum Ln4 from kimchi: Evaluation of β-galactosidase and antioxidant activities

        <P>This study was conducted to evaluate the probiotic properties, including beta-galactosidase and antioxidant activities, of lactic acid bacteria isolated from kimchi. Two isolates with a probiotic potential were isolated and identified by 16S rRNA sequence analysis. For comparison, a commercial probiotic strain, Lactobacillus rhamnosus KCTC 12202BP, was used. The isolates, Lactobacillus plantarum Ln4 and G72, and L. rhamnosus KCTC 12202BP, were able to survive under artificial gastric conditions (pH 2.5 in the presence of 0.3% pepsin and 0.3% oxgall). The safety of the LAB strains was tested in terms of antibiotic resistance and production of harmful enzymes. Antibiotic resistance was assessed according to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines. Assessment with the API ZYM kit showed that none of the strains produced harmful enzymes, such as beta-glucuronidase. Among the tested strains, L. plantarum Ln4 showed the strongest adhesion to HT-29 cells and the highest beta-galactosidase activity (3320.99 Miller Units). L. plantarum Ln4 was found to have higher 1-dipheny1-2-picrylhydrazyl radical-scavenging (40.97%) and beta-carotene oxidation-inhibitory activities (38.42%) than did L. rhamnosus KCTC 12202BP. These results suggest that L. plantarum Ln4 isolated from kimchi may have a probiotic potential and could be used in functional foods. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.</P>

        Reduced-Intensity Conditioning with Busulfan, Fludarabine, and Antithymocyte Globulin for Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation from Unrelated or Haploidentical Family Donors in Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Remission

        To investigate the role of antithymocyte globulin (ATG)-containing reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC) in hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) from unrelated (UD) or haploidentical family donors (HFD), we conducted a phase 2 trial of 237 patients (age range, 16 to 69 years) with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in remission. Patients undergoing UD-HCT (n@?=@?93) or HFD-HCT (n@?=@?59) received RIC comprising busulfan, fludarabine, and ATG, 9@?mg/kg, whereas those undergoing HCT from matched sibling donors (MSD, n@?=@?85) received myeloablative busulfan and cyclophosphamide conditioning or aforementioned RIC with ATG, 4.5@?mg/kg. For graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis, cyclosporine and methotrexate were administered. The median follow-up period was 44.7 months after HCT for 161 survivors. For UD-HCT versus HFD-HCT, there were no significant differences in leukemia recurrence, nonrelapse mortality, relapse-free survival, grades 2 to 4 acute GVHD, and moderate-to-severe chronic GVHD. Furthermore, when the outcomes of UD-HCT and HFD-HCT were combined and compared with those of MSD-HCT, there were no significant differences in leukemia recurrence (3-year cumulative incidence, 30% versus 29%), nonrelapse mortality (3-year cumulative incidence, 7% versus 8%), relapse-free survival (3-year estimate, 63% versus 63%), and grades 2 to 4 acute GVHD (120-day cumulative incidence, 16% versus 13%). Moderate-to-severe chronic GVHD, however, occurred less frequently in UD/HFD-HCT (2-year cumulative incidence, 22% versus 40%; P@?=@?.006). The addition of ATG to conditioning regimen was a significant predictor for less chronic GVHD (subdistribution hazard ratio, .59). In AML in remission, UD/HFD-HCT after ATG-containing RIC achieved leukemia control equivalent to that of MSD-HCT. Despite HLA disparity in UD/HFD-HCT, chronic GVHD occurred less frequently after ATG-containing RIC, suggesting a strong GVHD-modulating effect of ATG.

        This study was conducted to find out the actual state of smoking among female college students, their knowledge of harmfulness of smoking and their attitude about abstinence from smoking and to analyze their reasons for starting smoking. By doing so, this study aimed to provide the preliminary data for the educational program that prevents smoking and helps smokers to quit cigarettes. Also, this study was conducted to compare the self-esteem and the propensity to depression between female smokers and female non-smokers. Before carrying out the study, the study subjects were investigated about their gender, age, living allowance, residential condition, religion, high school, and whether or not they repeated a year in their high school in order to identify the factors related to smoking. Also, in case of smokers, their smoking amount, their smoking frequency, their first experience of smoking, their attempt of quitting smoking, etc were examined to find out the state of smoking among female college students. Also, as the core aspect of this study, the relationship of self-esteem and depression with smoking was investigated. As a result, the examination of smoking's effects on depression and self-esteem showed that the stud y subjects in the smoker group had a higher level of depression, indicating that smoking is related to the degree of depression (p-value = .017) (smoker group average: 14.75, non-smoker group average: 11.28). In the aspect of self-esteem, it was shown that the more self-esteem the subjects have, the more frequently they smoke, suggesting that whether or not people smoke is not related to the degree of their self-esteem (p-value = .017).

        The purpose of this study was to know relationship between important variables which influence lifestyle in college women`s health promotion, prove adjustable factors and provide basic data which develops nursing intervention health promotion program. The method of this study was descriptive correlational study. The convenience sample was 206 college woman who live alone in lodgings, dormitory, a reading room or off-campus housing. Research instruments were the Multidimensional Health Locus of Control(MHLC) developed by Wallston, Wallston & Devellis(1978), Interpersonal Support Evaluation List developed by Cohern, Hoberman(1983) and The Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile(HPLP) developed by Walker, Pender & Sechrist(1978) and the data was used after Factor Analysis. The result of this study was follows. 1. It can be found that the level of the college woman`s health promotion lifestyle was 2.46±.33 with higher fulfilling level: According to general characteristic, the level of health promotion lifestyle was 5% significant statistical differences by age and period of menstruation. 2. The level of health locus of control was 3.25±.31 with higher fulfilling level. 3. The interpersonal support level was 3.05±.44 with higher fulfilling level. 4. The level of interpersonal support turned out most convincing factor in health promotion lifestyle (9%). In addition to age factor, two factors was 10% power of explanation in whole health promotion.

        In this paper, an inspector measures the quality of water in contaminated place or anticipated place of pollution, or extracts polluted water and inspects the quality of water at an inspecting office by existing method of the quality of water analysis. These existing methods of the quality of water analysis are difficult to measure the quality of water with real time and they have some limits to measure the quality of water precisely. In this paper, to solve this problem, we propose a new method of the quality of water pollution measurement using a measuring instrument and RFID(Radio Frequency Identification). The whole system is processing automatically and through the real time analysis or monitoring, a supervisor processes analysis, measurement and supervision effectively.

        Busulfan TDM을 위한 약물동태학적 연구

        The influence of busulfan plasma concentration on outcome of bone marrow transplantation was examined in 10 patients transplanted. All patients received the same regiment of busulfan, 4㎎/㎏/day orally. Plasma concentrations of busulfan during the administration were measured at sampling time. As a result, means of half life, Kd, first-dose AUC, Cpss_(av??), Cpss_(peak) and Cpss_(trough) were 2.184hr, 0.352hr^(-1), 8,876ng·h/㎖, 2,548ng/㎖, 4,161ng/㎖ and 935ng/㎖, respectively. Of patients with high Cpss_(trough) (>1,000ng/㎖), three patients developed increased liver function test value. One patient (Cpss-(trough) 2,002ng/㎖) developed veno-occlusive disease. There was no significant association of plasma concentration with graft vs host disease, infection, regimen-related toxicity. We assume that high Cpss_(trough) may be associated with an increase risk of veno-occlusive disease.

The reason is solution the reinfection of Infectious Wastes illegal measure. Through this paper propose study, we offer a plan to slove inefficient business environment which is appeared management like computerization input to deal with paper working and wed application by management officer.
