EIA-709.1 Control Network Protocol을 이용한 필드버스 시스템 구현

EIA-709.1 Control Network Protocol is the basic protocol of LonWorks systems that is emerging as a fieldbus device. In this paper, the protocol is implemented by using VHDL with FPGA and C program on an Intel 8051 processor. The protocol from the physical layer to the network layer of EIA-709.1 is implemented in a hardware leval. So it decreases the load of the CPU for implementing the protocol. We verify the commercial feasibility of the hardware through the communication test with Neuron Chip, based on EIA-709.1 protocol, which is used in industrial fields. The developed protocol based on FPGA becomes one of IP and we are able to implement SOC for the terminal device in the distributed control systems. Also, the result can be applicable to various industrial field because it is implemented by VHDL.

Polynorbornenes prepared by vinyl addition pathway are known to have some desirable characteristics for wider application but they have some critical drawbacks such as brittleness, poor solubility and adhesion. In order to improve these drawbacks, extensive research for the successful homo- and copolymerization of polar functionalized norbornene with olefin has been carried out. Even though considerable advance has been achieved in the polymerization of polar functionalized monomers, successful catalytic systems for the homopolymerization of polar functionalized norbornene are rare. In this study, a novel successful catalytic system for the polymerization of polar functionalized norborene is proposed. This system employs Pd ${\beta}$-diketiminate/borate cocatalyst in water/organic mixed solvents and it is unique due to introduction of water as a component of solvents. Polymers obtained in this study show high Mw with narrow PDI. Effects of several reaction parameters to the polymer activity and properties are investigated and optimal catalytic system are proposed.

<P><B>Background and Objectives</B></P><P>Predictive factors of mortality in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients with left ventricular dysfunction were analyzed during 5-year clinical follow-up after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).</P><P><B>Subjects and Methods</B></P><P>A total of 329 ACS consecutive patients (64.6±11.3 years, 227 males) who underwent PCI from January 2001 to March 2006 were followed for 5 years. All patients had lower than 40% of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Patients were divided into Group I (survived longer than 5-years: n=130, 101 males) and Group II (survived shorter than 5 years: n=199, 126 males).</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>The cumulative survival rate was 88.0% at 1 month, 78.0% at 6 months, 75.0% at 1 year, 67.0% at 2 years, 62.0% at 3 years, 57.0% at 4 years and 40% at 5-years. Group II was older (61.6±11.2 years vs. 66.4±11.4 years, p<0.001), and showed higher prevalence of female gender (28.4% vs. 36.7%, p=0.006) and lower LVEF (35.3±5.2 vs. 33.6±5.6) than Group I. The independent predictors for mortality were LVEF <30% {odds ratio (OR)=1.793, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.234-2.452, p=0.002}, serum creatinine >3.0 mg/dL (OR=2.455, 95% CI: 1.306-4.614, p=0.005), older than 65 years (OR=1.594, 95% CI: 1.152-2.206, p=0.005), and female gender (OR=1.524, 95% CI: 1.090-2.130, p=0.014).</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>Five-year survival rate was 40% in ACS patients with left ventricular dysfunction, and the predictors for mortality were low LVEF, high serum creatinine, old age, and female gender.</P>
The Ballooning Time in Endoscopic Papillary Balloon Dilation for the Treatment of Bile Duct Stones

Background/Aims: Endoscopic papillary balloon dilation (EPBD) is a safe and effective method for the treatment of choledocholithiasis, but previous studies have rarely reported the appropriate ballooning time (BT). We prospectively evaluated the safety and efficacy of EPBD according to BT in patients undergoing bile duct stone removal. Methods: Seventy consecutive patients with bile duct stones were randomly assigned to receive EPBD with either conventional (n=35, 60 seconds) or short (n=35, 20 seconds) BT. Results: EPBD alone achieved complete bile duct clearance in 67 patients (long BT, n=33, 94.3%; short BT, n=34, 97.1%; p=0.808). We also found no significant difference in the rate of complete duct clearance, including procedures that used mechanical lithotripsy, between the long and short BT groups (97.1% vs. 100%; p=0.811). Mild pancreatitis was noted in four (11.4%) patients in the long BT group and two (5.7%) patients in the short BT group, but this incidence was not significantly different. Conclusions: The study showed that EPBD using both 20-sec and 60-sec BTs is safe and effective for the treatment of bile duct stones. Short and long BTs produced comparable outcomes. Loop heat pipe is a very reliable and versatile heat transport system which makes it possible to considerably extend the capability of two phase heat transfer devices with a capillary pumping force. In this study, heat transfer characteristics of the loop heat pipe at the vertical mode was investigated through the fabrication of practical heat sink models. Heat sink model basically consist of the separated vapor/liquid channels, evaporator having sintered ceramic wick and condenser cooled by air, water and ammonia were used as the working fluid.

In this study, we have manufactured the LHP(Loop Heat Pipe) with sintered metal wick and investigated the working characteristics of LHP experimentally. Water was used as a working fluid and fill charge rate was changed. LHP basically consist of the separated vapor/liquid channels, evaporator having sintered metal wick(effective pore diameter :16~19㎛), and condenser cooled by water. The diameter of vapor/liquid line tube are 3.2㎜/6.35㎜, respectively. Heat transfer rate and thermal resistance was represented to study the basic characteristics of LHP at each conditions.
