        This article conducted an pilot study on Lee Gyu-Jun(李圭晙)’s life and thoughts. He championed, and is mainly based on, old annotations of ancient Confucian bibles古文 that were made in the Han漢 and Tang唐 era in Chinese history and consequently took additionally into account Zuxi朱熹’s annotations on Confucian bibles. This cause big trouble to him in conservative Gyeong Shang Province(嶺南). He participated in the Confucian Religion Movement孔敎運動 and proposed constitutional monarchy as a new polity fit for changing Korean history. He closely interacted with many resistants to the Japanese rule of Korea and had a mixed perspective on Western culture, science and technology, and social system, positive or negative, contingent on cases. He made great footprints in the history of both modern Korean medicine and philosophy. Thus there is an urgent need for the overall study on Lee Gyu-Jun in every aspect.

        This paper presents a tunable filter that can be used in front stage of UWB receiver operating under 2GHz frequency range. It presents the optimum design method of comb-line structure tunable filter keeping the fixed bandwidth and attenuation characteristic in the tunable frequency range. This filter is implemented by applying a tunable capacitor, obtained by reverse-biased varactor diode, to a capacitor used in SIR structure. As a result of tunable filter measurement, the center frequency was little moved down. Its bandwidth was almost corresponded with the result of a simulation but did not meet the given 100MHz bandwidth.

        The purpose of this study is to determine how a Taekwondo player's athletic satisfaction affects his/her psychological health and overall personal happiness. A questionnaire survey was carried out on a sample group of 200 students attending colleges located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Then, 23 questionaries deemed not trustworthy were eliminated, leaving 178 questionaries for analysis. The questionnaire, which contained total 128 questions, showed the confidence level falling between .5241 and .8945 (Cronbach's alpha). The study, which relied on frequency analysis, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Scheffe test, produced the following results. First, athletic satisfaction showed a statistically significant difference (5% range) depending on sex, school year or athletic experience. Second, psychological health resulted in a statistically significant difference (5% range) depending on sex or athletic experience while no difference was noticed regarding school year. Third, happiness in life showed a statistically significant difference (5% range) depending on sex or school year while no difference was noticed with regard to athletic experience.

        Excerpt Melisa Cha(車美理士; 1879-1955. Against traditional Korean custom, she changed her family name to her husbands. Therefore, she is also generally known as Melisa Kim) was an educational leader who led Koreas educational movement when Korea was under the colonization of Japan. Her views on education are significant in the following points. First, she advocated for and promoted the women's education movement based on the perspective of gender equality and equal rights of women. Second, she considered the situation in Korea at that time, and believed elementary school education and general education for the people was more important than elitist education or higher education. Third, she advocated that economic independence was necessary for the liberation and independence of Korean women, therefore, vocational education for women is necessary. Fourth, she tried to teach students to be patriotic and to honestly face up to the reality of their country. As were other education movements during the Japanese colonization period, Melisa Cha's educational activities were for national emancipation through education. In this regard, Cha's educational activities and educational objectives are historically significant in that they are in line with the country's 19^(th) century tradition of national salvation through education and that she led the education movement at a time of national hardship when Korea was under Japanese colonization.

        Obwegeser Ⅱ method and Rigid fixation conserving the condylar position has been performed on 5 patients with severe mandibular prognathism, and we obtained the result after the follow up study follows. 1. Obwegeser Ⅱ method is considered to move the distal segment passively when surgical correction of severe open bite correction and large amount of set back above 15mm is needed. 2. In one case that has more change of condylar position after operation, documented immediate post- operative relapse have been occurred 3. In the others that have adequate control of condylar position, passive set back and firm skeletal fixation, more functional and esthetic improvement and more post-operative stability has been achieved

      • 肝吸蟲症 診斷에 있어서 間接螢光抗體 反應(IFAT)의 應用에 관한 硏究

        Human clonorchiasis is one of the most common trematode disease and of very important public health problem in Korea. A number of serological techniques have been in use for diagnosing parasitic diseases, efforts in recent years have been made for the development of a more new promising serological technique. The present study was conducted to evaluate to evaluate the diagnostic potentialities of human clonorchiasis by the indirect fluorescent antibody test (IFAT) using frozen sectioned antigen of adult worm of Clonorchis sinensis. A total of 117 sera from clonorchiasis patients, 16 sera from persons with other parasitic infections and 9 sera from non-infected healthy persons were tested. Frozen sections of adult worm of C. sinensis were placed on the spot-slide and incubated in two fold serially diluted sera and subsequently stained with goat anti-human immunoglobulin labeled with fluorescein isothiocyanate and Evans blue. The worm sections were examined with a fluorescent microscope, A.P\O. Series No. 10 Microstar. If the test is negative, the preparations are colored a uniform red. On ? other hand, if the test is positive, the adult worm sections display an intense green fluorescence localized in the tegumental region of C. sinensis. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The results indicated that IFA titers at 1/16 were regarded as positive reaction. Therefore, the positive reaction revealed in 72 (61.5%) out of 117 sera from clonorchiasis patients. 2. In the intensity of Clonorchis infection, the positive reactions of IFA titers showed 28.1% in light infection, 68.9% in moderate infection, 77.8% and 84.6% in heavy and very heavy infection respectively. 3. All serum samples from 16 cases infected with parasites other than Clonorchis were diagnosed as negative. Only one out of 9 sera from non-infected healthy cases showed false positive. With the above results, IFAT has great practical advantage since the antigen is easy to place on slides and easier reading than those of adult C. sinensis particles as an antigen. Therefore, this study suggest tat the IFAT can be applied in the diagnosis of human clonorchiasis.

        국내 살모넬라 분리주에서 spvR 유전자 분포와 단일 뉴클레오티드 다형 연구

        목적 : 지금까지 병원성 살모넬라를 확인하기 위해 분자량이 큰 플라스미드의 존재 유무를 확인하여 왔으나 살모넬라 혈청형 및 검출 방법에 따라 양성율에 큰 차이를 보이고 있고, 일부 병원성 살모넬라 분리주에서 병원성 플라스미드가 관찰되지 않아 spv 유전자들의 유무에 대한 아른 확인방법이 필요하다. 본 실험은 국내 동물 유래 주요 살모넬라 혈청형에서 spvR 유전자의 분포를 알아보고, 병원성 살모넬라 분자진단을 위한 분자표지로써의 가치를 평가하기 위해 실행하였다. 재료 및 방법 : 국내 가축 유래 S. lyphimurium (ST, 26주), S. enteritidis (SE, 10주), S. pullorum (SP, 40주), S. gallinarum (SG, 53주)에 대해 GenBank에 등록된 ST, SE, SP의 spvR 유전자를 비교하여 ST와 SE 간에 차이를 보이는 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP, 625번 뉴클레오티드)을 포함하도록 시발자를 합성하여 집락-PCR을 수행하였다. 증폭 산물(194bp)은 자동 염기서열장치를 이용하여 염기서열을 결정하였고, 제한효소인 MseI을 사용하여 PCR-RFLP를 실시하였다. 결과 : 집락-중합효소연쇄반응 결과 SP, SG, SE의 모든 (100%) 분리주에서 특이 증폭산물이 검출되었으나 ST의 경우 19주(73%)에서만 증폭되었다. 특히 병원성 관련 플라스미드가 관찰되지 않았던 SP 4주에서 특이적인 증폭산물이 검출되었다. 염기서열 분석결과 SE, SG, SP는 625번 뉴클레오티드에 아데닌을, ST는 구아닌을 가지고 있어 PCR-RFLP를 이용하여 쉽게 구분할 수 있었다. 결 론 : spvR에 대한 집락-중합효소연쇄 반응법은 병원성 플라스미드 검출법보다 SE, SP, SG 병원성 주를 신속하게 검출하는데 유용하고, 625번 뉴클레오티드의 SNP는 ST와 SE, SG, SP를 구분하는 분자표지로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대되며, ST에 비해 SE는 진화적으로 SG와 SP에 가까운 것으로 생각되었다. Background : The Salmonella virulence plasmid (spv) genes (spvR, A, B, C and D) on the large virulence plasmids of pathogenic Salmonella serotypes can replace the virulence of the whole plasmid. Recently, virulence plasmid-negative pathogenic Salmonella isolates were isolated. However, positive rates of spv genes among Korean Salmonella serotypes have been obscure. spv genes are conserved in compared to other virulence genes but there are single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) conserved in only certain serotype. Such SNPs are useful for differentiation and understanding evolution of certain serotypes. Materials and Methods : Salmonella serotypes isolated from live stocks [Salmonella typhimurium (ST, 26), S. enteritidis (SE, 10), S. gallinarum (SG, 40) and S. pullorum (SP, 53)] were used for colony-PCR. A primer set covering single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) at 625th nucleotide of spvR was designed. The nucleotide sequences of amplicons were determined by cyclic sequencing method and RFLP was performed by using MseI. Results : All isolates of SE, SG and SP, including four plasmid-negative isolates, showed specific amplicons but not all of ST (19/26, 73%) were positive to spvR. Based on the nucleotide sequence of 625th nucleotide and PCR-RFLP, SE, SG and SP [A(625)] and ST [G(625)] could be differentiated. Conclusion : spvR can be used as a molecular marker to detect virulent SE, SG, SP and the SNP may be useful for differentiation of SE, SG, SP and ST. According to the SNP study SE may be evolutionarily closer to SG and SP than ST.

        The effects of nucleotides (Na-GMP, Na-IMP, Na-UMP, 5-50 ㎎%) on the physicochemical properties of frozen Alaska-pollack fillet containing 500㎎% of sucrose at 15℃ were studied by the quantitative measurements of myofibrillar Mg^(2+) - ATPase activity, trimethyl amine-N, total protein, pH and textural variations with the lapse of time. The results were compared with those of D-sorbitol, D-xylose, sodium citrate and monosodium glutamate at different contration levels (125 ㎎% - 500 ㎎%) 1. The more higher the concentration of additives, were observed the more higher myofibrillar Mg^(2+) - ATPase activity In contrast, however, trimethylamine-N content was decreased with the concentration increase 2. All the "Kamaboko" groups containing at different concentration levels maintained almost similar elasticity On the other hand, they were not only easily crumbled but also markedly decreased hardness, cohesiveness and gumminess with the lapse of time 3. The Na-UMP groups showed inferior textural characteristics to other additives, but Na-IMP groups were superior 4. The Na-IMP groups increased hardness, cohesiveness and gumminess However, the Na-GMP groups increased hardness and gumminess with the concentration increase On the other hand, hardness was decreased in Na-UMP groups 5. Nucleotides showed superior protective effects of myofibrillar protein in frozen Alaska-poliack fillet over D-sorbitol, D-xylose, sodium citrate and monosodium glutamate And it appears that nucleotides would be promising additives for the quality improvement of a variety of fish products

        연 X-선 현미경을 이용한 금 나노입자 세포영상

        연 x-선 현미경은 ‘물의 창’ 영역(2.3~4.4 nm)의 파장을 이용하여, 수십 nm의 분해능으로 세포를 파괴하지 않고 살아있는 상태에서 세포의 내부구조를 관찰할 수 있어 가시광선현미경과 전자현미경을 단점을 보완하는 특징을 갖는 세포 생물학 연구에 적합한 현미경이다. 그러나 기존 연 x-선 현미경은 광원으로 방사선 가속기를 이용하기 때문에 사용이 제한적이었다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 2.88 nm의 연 x-선을 광원으로 사용하는 소형 연 x-선 현미경을 이용하여, 내포작용에 의해 금 나노입자를 포획한 HT1080과 MDA-MB 231 세포의 영상을 약 60 nm 분해능으로 획득하였다. 금 나노입자의 세포에 대한 독성을 제거하기 위하여 폴리에틸렌 글리콜을 캡핑하였고, 2.88 nm 파장의 연 x-선에 대하여 충분한 조영효과로 인하여 세포영상에서 뚜렷한 대조도를 나타내었다. 내포작용에 의해 액포에 포함되어 있는 다양한 크기의 금 나노입자 군집을 확인하였으며, 세포내부의 액포의 분포상태도 관찰할 수 있었다. 따라서 고분해능을 가진 소형 연 x-선 현미경을 이용하여 금 나노입자를 세포내의 미세기관이나 특정 단백질에 표지하면 연 x-선에 대한 조영효과의 증가에 의하여 더욱 유용한 정보를 획득할 수 있을 것으로 생각한다. A compact soft x-ray microscope operated in the ‘water window’ wavelength region (2.3~4.4 nm) was used for observing cells with nano-scale spatial resolution. To obtain cellular imaging captured with colloidal gold nanoparticles using a compact soft x-ray microscope. The colloidal gold nanoparticles showed higher contrast and lower transmission more than 7 times than that of cellular protein on the soft x-ray wavelength region. The structure and thickness of the cell membrane of the Coscinodiscus oculoides (diatome) and red blood cells were seen clearly. The gold nanoparticles within the HT1080 and MDA-MB 231 cells were seen clearly on the soft x-ray microscopy. The gold nanoparticles were aggregated within vesicles by endocytosis.
