        In recent days the more use of CFRP composite is in the airplane, automobile, and sport goods , etc., the more necessity of research on it in this engineering. In this research, the CFRP composite specimen are fabricated by 48 CFRP plies with 6 stacking sequences, and the specimens are drilled with 4 tools. The results are analyzed with consideration of cutting force, type of tools and fabrication condition. The specimens with each drilling conditions are also investigated with SEM. The optimal drilling conditions such as drill types and cutting force with respect to the fabricating condition are studied.

        (Banwolsi:A poem about half moon) generally was famous for the works composed by the celebrated kisaeng Whang, Jin-I during the mid-Cho Sun Dynasty and introduced in the Chinese Wring Text in highschool. While I had been studying the poems written (Yang Gok) Sho, Se-Yang, I was surprised to find that some poems titled as (Shinwolsi:A poem about new moon) in a collection of Yang Gok's works which was almost similar to (Banwolsi:A poem about half moon) of Whang, Jin-I, and he made sure that it was Yang Gok's work by marking only this work as (the work written at 7) in a collection of Yang Gok's works. That's why I became excited to research this tie only to realize that Yang Gok and Whang, Jin-I had lived together for more than one month. So I thought the co-relationship between (Banwolsi:A poem about half moon) and (Shinwolsi:A poem about new moon) because one was a man of high birth and excelled in literature and the other was the best kisaeng with wit and beauty in Cho Sun Dynasty. He was contemporary with her : they met and loved each other, exchanging common feeling for the time being. Information about the year of his birth and death and his chronological record were clear, but there was no way to confirm the exact facts about her life because of her special social status as kisaeng. So this thesis was completed by inferring indirectly from some records related to her.

        위절제술 환자의 표준진료지침 개발 및 적용 효과

        Background : Gastric cancer is the most common malignant tumor in Korea. surgical operation is one of the major treatment modalities for gastric cancer patients. Therefore, gastrectomy is one of the most common procedures in General Surgery. There were variation in length of hospital stay and medical treatment for gastrectomy between three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. Clinical pathways have received considerable attention as a tool for recucing the medical practice variation, increasing the efficiency of care process, and improving the quality of care. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a clinical pathway for gastrectomy in gastric cancer patients. Methods : The clinical pathway for gastrectomy was developed and implemented by a multidisciplinary group in Asan Medical Center. A computerized clinical pathway program was developed and revised after a pilot test. A total of 145 patients underwent gastrectomy by three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. We compared the length of hospital stay, patient satisfaction, and unplanned readmission rate between the pre-pathway group(n=67) and the post-pathway group(n=78). We also investigated the degree of satisfaction among the physicians and nurses who were main end-users of the clinical pathway. Results : The clinical pathway was applied to all target patients. The average length of hospital stay was shortened from 12.7days to 10.6days(p<0.01). The degree of patient satisfaction with the care process changed from 90.3% to 89.2% after the implementation of the clinical pathway, but the difference was of satistically significant(p=0.761). Unplanned readmission rate was 2.9% in the pre-pathway group. More than 90% of physicians and nurses answered that the clinical pathway had been a useful tool in their medical practice. Conclusions : The findings of the study demonstrated that implementation of the clinical pathway for gastrectomy produced substantial reduction in the length of hospital stay while improving the quality of patient outcomes. The computerized clinical pathway program can be used as one of the powerful patient management tools for reducing the practice variations and increasing the efficiency of care process in Korea hospital settings.

        차광재배가 눈개승마(Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus)의 성분 및 항산화 특성에 미치는 영향

        눈개승마의 총 엽록소, 총 카로테노이드 함량은 무차광에 비하여 차광율이 높을 수록 높았다. 지방산함량은 무차광 재배에 비하여 차광 재배 및 식용 가능시기간의 생육 후기에 감소되었다. 식용가능시기에서의 지방산 종류간의 함량은 oleic acid, palmitc acid, linoleic acid, stearic acid 순으로 높았으며, 무차광에 비하여 차광율이 높을 수록 낮았다. 특히 linoleic산의 함량은 타 지방산에 비하여 차광정도에 따른 함량의 감소율이 매우 높았다. 차광율 및 수확시기간의 휘발성 정유성분의 함량은 차광율이 높을 수록 증가하였고, 초기수확이 높았다. DPPH 소거활성은 6.64-14.49(IC50:㎍/㎖로 항산화 활성이 매우 높게 나타났고 차광정도가 높을 수록 낮았고, 조기 수확 할 수록 높았다. POD 및 SOD 활성은 식물체에 비하여 종자가 매우 낮았고, 무차광에 비하여 차광 재배 시에 증가하였다. POD활성은 식용가능시기의 생육 초기에 비하여 후기에 높았으나, SOD활성은 감소되었다. POD Isozyme band 수는 이식묘의 종자, 잎 및 줄기에서 각 각 6개의 밴드를 나타내었으나, 뿌리에는 없었다. SOD Isozyme band는 송자와 잎에 비하여 뿌리에서 뚜렷하였다. This study was conducted to determine chemical compounds and antioxidant in Aruncus dioicus. Further, effects of cultural practices such as the shading conditions on the general compounds, essential oils and antioxidants. The chemical compounds and antioxidant activity of edible extracts on the shading cultivation and harvesting time were measured by crude fiber, pigments, higher fatty acids, essential oils and DPPH free radical scavenging ability and activities of SOD and POD in edible shooting parts of Aruncus dioicus. The contents of crude fiber, total chlorophyll and total carotenoids in extracts of edible shooting by shading cultivation and later harvesting were higher than those of non-shading cultivation and early harvesting. Phenolic compounds such as benzoic acid were identified as the aromatic compounds in the edible extracts of Aruncus dioicus. The contents of azulene, benzaldehyde and linalool among those compounds on the cultivation conditions increased in shading cultivation. IC50 values of DPPH free radical scavenging activities were high from 6.644 to 14.499m㎍/㎖ in extracts of edible parts and those of edible shooting parts was high such as edible shooting cultivated by 60% shading, 30% shading and non-shading, respectively. The activity of POD and SOD in seeds was lower than that of edible shooting and that by shading cultivation was high in extracts cultivated by non-shading. POD activity of extracts on harvesting time was high in earlier harvesting but SOD activity was low. The numbers of isozyme pattern of POD and SOD in seedling showed 7 bands and 3 bands, respectively, especially, bands of POD and SOD in the first year-growing plant did not show and show a difference according to plant positions, respectively.

        제7차 고등학교 사회 교과서 지리내용의 비교분석 - 3. 생활공간의 형성과 변화 단원을 중심으로 -

        The 7th national curriculum aims at creating education of student level and self-directed learning environment. Therefore, textbooks should be composed of easy and interesting materials which provide learners with independent thinking, support their learning activities and enhance the quality of creativity and inquiry. Using Romey`s textbook analysis method, this article evaluates if textbooks are inquiry-oriented, contents of curriculum are substantial, research activities and examples for basic concepts are appropriate, explanation for concept and theory is valid, and sentences are grammatical or consistent. According to the analysis of six kinds of textbooks in the 7th curriculum, they can encourage students` creativity and inquiry by providing meaningful situation for learners and diverse collaborative environments with peers. Also, students can be exposed to various kinds of materials and research activities closely related to the subjects of each chapter. But some problems are found that a few textbooks don`s fully reflect the contents of curiculum and research activities are somewhat irrelevant to their subjects along with some ambiguous contests.

        Identification of Neuroactive Constituents of the Ethyl Acetate Fraction from Cyperi Rhizoma Using Bioactivity-Guided Fractionation

        Cyperi Rhizoma (CR), the rhizome of Cyperus rotundus L., exhibits neuroprotective effects in in vitro and in vivo models of neuronal diseases. Nevertheless, no study has aimed at finding the neuroactive constituent(s) of CR. In this study, we identified active compounds in a CR extract (CRE) using bioactivity-guided fractionation. We first compared the anti-oxidative and neuroprotective activities of four fractions and the CRE total extract. Only the ethyl acetate (EA) fraction revealed strong activity, and further isolation from the bioactive EA fraction yielded nine constituents: scirpusin A (1), scirpusin B (2), luteolin (3), 6'-acetyl-3,6-diferuloylsucrose (4), 4',6' diacetyl-3,6-diferuloylsucrose (5), p-coumaric acid (6), ferulic acid (7), pinellic acid (8), and fulgidic acid (9). The activities of constituents 1-9 were assessed in terms of anti-oxidative, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and anti-amyloid-${\beta}$ activities. Constituents 1, 2, and 3 exhibited strong activities; constituents 1 and 2 were characterized for the first time in this study. These results provide evidence for the value of CRE as a source of multi-functional neuroprotectants, and constituents 1 and 2 may represent new candidates for further development in therapeutic use against neurodegenerative diseases.

        Pain on injection with microemulsion propofol

        <P><B>WHAT IS ALREADY KNOWN ABOUT THIS SUBJECT</B></P><P>• Aqueous free propofol in lipid emulsion elicits pain.</P><P>• No data on the incidence and severity of injection pain for Aquafol™ (Daewon Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, Seoul, Korea), a lipid-free microemulsion propofol, are available.</P><P>• Two hypotheses involving plasma bradykinin generation have been proposed to explain propofol-induced pain; one implicates aqueous free propofol, the other implicates the lipid solvent.</P><P><B>WHAT THIS STUDY ADDS</B></P><P>• Microemulsion propofol produces more frequent and severe pain on injection, an effect that may be attributable to the high concentration of aqueous free propofol.</P><P>• There was no evidence that plasma bradykinin generation caused propofol-induced pain.</P><P>• In addition, agents known to prevent propofol-induced pain did not decrease aqueous free propofol concentrations.</P><P>AIMS</P><P>To evaluate the incidence and severity of injection pain caused by microemulsion propofol and lipid emulsion propofol in relation to plasma bradykinin generation and aqueous free propofol concentrations.</P><P>METHODS</P><P>Injection pain was evaluated in 147 patients. Aqueous free propofol concentrations in each formulation, and in formulation mixtures containing agents that reduce propofol-induced pain, were measured by high-performance liquid chromatography. Plasma bradykinin concentrations in both formulations and in their components mixed with blood sampled from six volunteers were measured by radioimmunoassays. Injection pain caused by 8% polyethylene glycol 660 hydroxystearate (PEG660 HS) was evaluated in another 10 volunteers.</P><P>RESULTS</P><P>The incidence of injection pain [visual analogue scale (VAS) >30 mm] caused by microemulsion and lipid emulsion propofol was 69.7 and 42.3% (<I>P</I> < 0.001), respectively. The median VAS scores for microemulsion and lipid emulsion propofol were 59 and 24 mm, respectively (95% confidence interval for the difference 12.5, 40.0). The aqueous free propofol concentration of microemulsion propofol was seven times higher than that of lipid emulsion propofol. Agents that reduce injection pain did not affect aqueous free propofol concentrations. Microemulsion propofol and 8% PEG660 HS enhanced plasma bradykinin generation, whereas lipid emulsion propofol and lipid solvent did not. PEG660 HS did not cause injection pain.</P><P>CONCLUSIONS</P><P>Higher aqueous free propofol concentrations of microemulsion propofol produce more frequent and severe pain. The plasma kallikrein–kinin system may not be involved, and the agents that reduce injection pain may not act by decreasing aqueous free propofol concentrations.</P>

      • Serum Procalcitonin for Differential Diagnosis of Acute Exacerbation and Bacterial Pneumonia in Patients With Interstitial Lung Disease

        <P>Background: Acute exacerbation and bacterial pneumonia are major life-threatening conditions in patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD). The rapid recognition of these 2 different conditions is important for their proper treatment. An elevated procalcitonin (PCT) level is commonly detected in patients with bacterial infections. This study assessed the usefulness of the serum PCT level as a biomarker for the differential diagnosis of acute exacerbation and bacterial pneumonia in patients with ILD. Materials and Methods: In this prospective observational study, we enrolled patients with ILD who had experienced recently progressive dyspnea and exhibited new infiltrations on chest radiographs. We classified these patients into an acute exacerbation group and a bacterial pneumonia group and compared their baseline characteristics and laboratory parameters, including the PCT level. Results: Of 21 patients with ILD, 9 patients had bacterial pneumonia. Both the groups showed similar baseline characteristics. The bacterial pneumonia group demonstrated a high PCT level. The PCT level in the acute exacerbation group was significantly lower than that in the bacterial pneumonia group (0.05 versus 0.91ng/mL, respectively; P < 0.001). Other parameters, such as the C-reactive protein level, leukocyte count and body temperature, were also lower in the acute exacerbation group. At a cutoff value of 0.1ng/mL, the sensitivity, specificity and negative predictive values of the serum PCT level were 88.9%, 100.0% and 92.3%, respectively. Conclusions: These findings suggest that the serum PCT level is useful in the differential diagnosis of acute exacerbation and bacterial pneumonia in patients with ILD.</P>

        Two Cases of Diagnosis and Removal of Endobronchial Hamartoma by Cryotherapy via Flexible Bronchoscopy

        Although endobronchial hamartoma is a rare benign tumor, most patients with endobronchial hamartoma have respiratory symptoms such as obstructive pneumonia, hemoptysis, cough, or dyspnea due to bronchial obstruction. It can cause irreversible post-obstructive pulmonary destruction, thus early diagnosis and treatment is very important. Recently, there have been cases of neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser and electrocautery procedures for bronchoscopic treatment of malignant or benign central airway obstruction with comparable therapeutic efficacy and few complications. Bronchoscopic cryotherapy is a newly developed technique for management of central airway obstruction. Moreover, it provides diagnostic methods with improving diagnostic yield and safety. We report two cases of endobronchial hamartoma, each diagnosed and definitively treated with bronchoscopic techniques. Endobronchial biopsy and removal was successfully performed by cryotherapy via flexible bronchoscopy without notable complications. Follow-up bronchoscopic examinations excluded residual or recurrent disease.
