Ene-hydrazide from Enol Triflate for the Regioselective Fischer Indole Synthesis

<P>Ene-hydrazide prepared from enol triflate undergoes a Fischer indolization reaction to give the corresponding indole with complete regioselectivity. The starting enol triflate is readily accessed in regiochemically defined form from the ketone precursor via various well-established methods. The opiate antagonist, naloxone, was injected for the reversal of hypotension due to Korean hemorrhagic fever, and the auihors observed changes in pituiiary hormones. In the hypotensive phase of the Korean hemorrhagic fever, the g-endorphin was high, and normal- ized granuaUy in the diuretic and conva1escent period. The naloxone raised the pulse rate and the blood pressure within 30 minutes without change in the central venous pressure. Around 30 minuted after the injection of the naloxone, the β-endorphin, ACTH and cortisol rose. The prolactin fell down 60 minutes after the naloxone injection.

외상성 뇌 손상은 많은 신경 정신과적 이상을 유발시킨다. 외상성 뇌 손상에 대한 뚜렷한 치료법이 아직 없는 반면, 운동이 신경세포의 보호작용이 있음은 여러 연구들에 의하여 잘 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 흰쥐를 이용하여 외상성 뇌 손상을 유발시켰고, 수영이 외상성 뇌 손상에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 외상성 뇌 손상은 기억력의 감퇴를 초래하였고, 해마에서의 뇌 유래 영양인자(brain-derived neurotrophic factor)와 그 수용체(TrkB)의 발현을 감소시켰다. 수영운동은 해마에서 뇌 유래 영양인자와 그 수용체의 발현을 증가시켰으며 외상성 뇌손상에 의한 기억력의 감퇴를 경감시켰다. 본 연구를 통하여 외상성 뇌 손상에 의한 신경계 후유증에 수영 운동이 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is known to induce many neuropsychiatric disorders. In the present study, we investigated the effects of swimming on the memory function and expressions of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its receptor tyrosine kinase B (TrkB) in the hippocampus, following TBI in rats. The animals were randomly divided into three groups (n=10 in each group): sham-operation group, TBI-induction group, and TBI-induction and swimming group. TBI was induced by an electromagnetic-controlled cortical impact. The animals in the swimming group were forced to swim for 30 min once daily, for ten consecutive days. TBI deteriorated memory function and suppressed expressions of both BDNF and TrkB in the hippocampus. Swimming alleviated TBI-induced memory impairment and also enhanced expressions of BDNF and TrkB in the hippocampus. In the present results, TBI elicited memory disturbance and swimming overcame the TBI-induced memory impairment through suppression on BDNF level in the hippocampus, thus facilitated recovery after brain injury. Herein, we suggest that swimming may be used as the useful strategy for the functional recovery of the brain following brain damage. (Korean J Str Res 2011;19:205∼212)
Pattern of metastasis related to clinicopathological features in curatively resected HNSCC

Background: Epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) means that the epithelial cells lose their properties of adhesion and polarization and gain properties of invasion and migration and has an important role in invasion and metastasis of tumor cells. EZH2 have an effect on EMT through regulating E-cadherin expression. However, the exact role of EZH2 and its clinical significance in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) are not yet known. We tried to examine EZH2 expression with clinic-pathological characteristics to clarify the role of the prognosis in HNSCC. Methods: We obtained formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues of 118 patients who received curative surgery for HNSCC. All patients received R0 resection. Six blocks of TMA were made for immunohistochemical study. Paraffin blocks of the tissue microarray weresectioned at a 4um thickness. The nuclear staining of EZH2 was evaluated semi-quantitatively on the basis of staining intensity and distribution using the immunoreactive scores. Results: Total 29 recurrences were observed. Among them, 17 patients showed local recurrence only, and 12 patients showed distant metastasis with or without local recurrence. We analyzed distinct patterns of metastasis according to protein expression profile. A significant association between high expression of EZH2 which is a kind of mesenchymal marker and the presence of distant progression was demonstrated (p=.026). In patients with node-negative HNSCC, total 15 patients had recurrences. Among them, 7 patients had distant metastasis and all of these 7 patients exhibited EZH2 atthe time of initial diagnosis. However, we did not find its correlation into overall survival. Conclusions: EZH-2, one of EMT-associated protein expressed HNSCC was associated with more distant metastasis. It could be a useful marker for determination ofadditional treatment (e.g. adjuvant chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy) in currently resected HNSCC patients in the future.

LNG는 대량운송 및 저장을 위해 천연가스를 -l62°C 로 냉각시켜 LNG 터미널에 저장해 두었다가 일반적으로 해수식 기화기 를 이용하여 LNG를 기화시켜 NG 인 가스상태로 수요처에 공급하게 된다. 이 와 같이 재기화 되는 과정에서 약 200kcal/kg의 냉열이 버려지는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 냉열은 공기액화, 냉열발전, 저온분해, 액화탄산, 저온창고, 지역난방 둥 다양하게 활용할 수 있다. 특히 냉열발전의 경우 일본을 중심으로 가장 많이 활용되는 기술이며, 그와 유사하게 공기액화를 위해 LNG 냉열을 이용하는 기술은 폭넓게 분포되어 활용되는 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 냉열발전에 대해 open source 프로그램 중 하나인 DWSIM을 이용하여 공정특성을 분석하였다. 250t/h급 75kg/cm2, -140°C 의 LNG롤 해수를 이용하여 재기화 후 터빈을 이용해 65 kg/cm2으로 NG를 송출할 경우, 약 879 kW를 얻을 수 있는 것으로 평가되었고, 해수를 이 용해 재기화 후 이산화탄소를 포집하기 용이하도록 이산화탄소가 포함된 고온(370°C)의 배출가스 200,000 Nm3/h로 재 기화를 추가로 시 킬 경우. 약 1,200 kW 의 전력을 얻을 수 있는 것으로 평가되었다. 기화기의 경우는 shell&Tube 타입의 열교환기 를 적용하였고, 해수 온도는 20'C 에 공급되 어 약 10°C 로 배출되도록 하였고, 7 kg/cm2 의 압력으로 1,000 t/h가 공급되도록 하였다. LNG 냉열발전의 경우, 기 술에 대한 가능성을 확인되었으나. 전력발생량 대비 경제성에 대한 평가가 반드시 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
