The purpose of this study was to identify the general characteristics and to measure the professional adjustment level of beginning technology teachers. The population for survey was all beginning technology teachers who were employed during the period from March 1, 2003 to September 1, 2005 in middle schools and high schools. A survey questionnaire was developed by researchers, which consisted of 27 professional adjustment items including 6 domains. The questionnaire was sent to the sample by mail. One hundred ninety seven out of 339 questionnaires were returned. Through data screening process, 187 questionnaires were analyzed. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed for data analysis. An alpha level of 0.05 was established a priori for determining significance. Major findings of this study were as follows: The professional adjustment level of beginning technology teachers was a little more than average(3.41). In the six domains of professional adjustment, the Human Relationship was the highest, but the Norm & Order Observance was the lowest. Four related variables were found to be significant in affecting the professional adjustment of beginning technology teachers. They were gender difference, terms of job experience, a number of teaching subject, obtaining a technology education teacher certificate course. However, school level (middle school/high school), school location, and school size had no affect on professional adjustment.
우리나라 응급의료센터의 제세동시 패들-피부 결합물질 사용현황 및 결합물질의 임피던스 측정

Purpose: While the use of coupling material (CM) during defibrillation is known to decrease transthoracic impedance more so than other materials elsewhere, the situation in Korea is unclear. The study assessed the use of paddleskin CM during defibrillation in South Korean emergency institutes (EIs) and measured the impedances. Methods: From October 15 to October 19, 2009, 112 EIs (all of regional emergency medical centers (EMCs), specialized care centers, and local EMCs) were surveyed. Institute members were queried about their current use of paddleskin CMs during defibrillation. Indications for use were studied by means of a World Wide Web search, descriptions on the CM packaging, and telephone conversations with CM manufacturers and related people. Impedance measurements were recorded from April 13 to August 3, 2009. Results: During defibrillation, 27 different CMs were used in the 108 EIs. Only nine institutes used CMs directly for defibrillation. Impedence of nine CMs could not be measured. The impedance values were 1.69, 1.71, 2.00, and 6.12 ohm for four CMs used for defibrillation; 6.66 and 11.94 ohm for two CMs used for electrodes; 9.71, 9.82,11.57, 13.68, 13.89, 14.36, 18.31, and 19.66 ohm for eight CMs used for ultrasonography; and 14.05, 17.71, 35.44,and 41.15 ohm for four other CMs. Conclusion: More education and public information about the use of CMs for defibrillation are needed.

The purpose of this study was to identify the important job items as perceived by technology teachers and to determine their performance level and educational needs in the job items. The population was technology teachers in middle schools and high schools. Using systematic sampling technique, 1,051 technology teachers were sampled for this study. Five hundred sixty six technology teachers were asked to indicate the performance level of each of 48 job items and also to rate the importance of each items on a mailed questionnaire. The educational needs of technology teachers were analyzed by using the Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA). The finding of this study were as follows. 1) The important job items as perceived by technology teachers were those in 'assess students reasonably', 'practice safety direction', 'investigate characteristics of student', and 'develop learning guidance'. 2) They perceived that their current job performance level was just beyond the ordinary level but was lower than the good level. 3) The highest needs were 'investigate characteristics of student', 'prepare teaching & learning materials', ‘provide learning motivation’, 'use diverse teaching method', 'use appropriate questions & answers', 'establish evaluation plan', 'guide the career of students', 'accumulate knowledge about subject matter contents', 'develop the teaching skills', 'accumulate method about student's life guidance', 'acquire general culture', and 'collaborate with parents'.It is recommended that the programs to enhance the job performance of technology teachers should be developed based on their educational needs.

The optimum cathodic protection potentials of aluminum and its alloys in natural static seawater were evaluated by their potentiostatic polarization resistances. The theoretical optimum cathodic protection potentials obtained in present study were consistent with such empirical values as NACE standard, British criterion, and Nagakawa' s and Ido's propositions. The empirical method which is decided a practical cathodic protection potential by the potentiostatic polarization curve is applicable to aluminum and its alloys as well as carbon steels and copper alloys.
