연구논문초록(’81-’90) : Al - Zn - In 계 유전양극의 성능에 미치는 Cd , Ca 및 Ga 첨가와 열처리의 영향

This paper is an attempt to improve the performances of Al alloy anodes which were made of the second grade of KS D2304 aluminium ingot. The effect tests of adding Cd, Ca or Ga element and heat treatment of the Al anodes of Al-2.5Zn--0.02In system were made by measuring the anodic polarization potential, current efficiency and by observing the corrosion pattern of the anodes in the 3% NaCI solution for 10 days and 40 days. The results of the performance tests are as follows : 1) The performance tests of Al alloy anode should be a long-term test, for a short-term test of 10 days is not enough. 2) The performances of Al alloy anodes containing 0.01% of Cd, Ca or Ga were better than those containing 0.02%. 3) The suitable annealing temperature of the Al alloy anode containing 0.01% Ca was 550℃, but the performances of other anodes were rather fine than when they were not annealed. 4) Al alloy anodes of the good performances, which had moderate anodic potential, were more than 85% in current efficiency and were excellent in corrosion pattern, were the Al-25Zn-0.02In-0.01Ca anodes which were annealed on 550℃ or not annealed.

This study is to verify experimentally the validity of the polarization resistance technique that has been introduced previously. The corrosion-loss measurement for brass in natural seawater was adopted as the experimental method. For brass in natural seawater, the potential of maximum polarization resistance, which appeared at o.35V (vs. SEC) on the cathodic polarization curve, was coincided with the optimum cathodic protection potential which was determined by the corrosion-loss measurement. This potential of maximum polarization resistance corresponds to the potential 0.1 V below the corrosion potential of brass in natural seawater. This experimental result supports the aurhor's technique that the optmum cathodic protection potential coincides with the potentiae of the maximum poarization resistance of metal. This optimum cathodic protection potential for brass in natural seawater is in very good agreement with the cathodie protection potential that was recommended by NACE Standard, Federal Register and Shigeno. But it is not in good agreement with the protection potentials that were recommended by Schwerdtfeger, Nagakawa, Crennel, and England Standard of Copper alloys. The tatters are considered as the cathodic protection potentials for special copper alloys.

Kadsura coccinea (Lem.) A.C. Smith is used as a medicinal plant and cosmetic material in China and Southeast Asia. To mass-produce Kadsura coccinea seedlings, the effects of gibberellic acid (GA3) and cold stratification treatments on seed germination were investigated. Seed germination rate with GA3 treatment was most effective at concentrations of 250 or 500 mg/L. With respect to mean germination time (MGT), mean daily germination, and T50 (days to reach 50% seed germination), the germination-promoting effect was improved as the concentration of GA3 increased. Stem growth of seedlings was the highest following GA3 treatments of 250 and 500 mg/L, and the growth promoting effect gradually decreased as the concentration of GA3 decreased. Root growth was stimulated at GA3 concentrations of 250–1,000 mg/L. Examination of the effect of stratification treatment for 15, 30 and 60 days at temperatures of 0, 5 and 10℃ on the germination rate revealed that the most stratification treatment temperature was 10℃, and the results improved with longer treatment periods. Altogether, GA3 and stratification treatments improved the seed germination rate, shortened the MGT, improved germination uniformity, and produced healthy seedlings.
