        이 논문은 시각예술의 경제적 역할에 대한 개념적 틀을 제시하면서 시각예술 관련한 다양한통계 데이터베이스 구축을 통해 예술과 창조성의 상관관계를 분석하려는 하나의 시도이다. 문화예술 인프라가 특허출원, 브랜드 같은 경제성장에 더 직접적인 변수에 상당한 영향을 줄 수 있다는 결론이다. 특히 문화변수(cu1tural variables)를 조사하여 우리나라 문화예술의 국제적 위치에 대한 문제점을 지적하였다. 보다 엄밀한 추가연구가 중요하다. This is an preliminary attempt to collect various art related variables. Based on this international cross section data, it shows that art and cu1ture affects creativity related variables such as patents and brand in a positive way, Farther analysis is needed to verify this conclusion.

        폐엽절제술 후 생긴 급성폐동맥색전증에서 수술을 통한 색전 제거술

        Acute massive pulmonary artery embolism after pulmonary resection is very rare, but has a high mortality rate. This is one of the most severe complications after pulmonary resection. Acute pulmonary artery embolism developed suddenly in a patient who underwent lobectomy and was recovering without complications. Because the patient’s condition was aggravated after conservative treatment, we did emergency open embolectomy which was successful. Hence, we report this case with a literature review. 폐절제후 발생하는 급성폐동맥색전증은 매우 드물지만 높은 사망률을 보인다. 이는 폐절제후 발생하는 가장 위험한 합병증 중에 하나이다. 폐엽절제 후 아무런 합병증 없이 회복 중이던 환자에서 갑자기 발생한 급성폐동맥색전증으로 보존적 치료에도 악화되어 응급 색전제거술로 치료하여 좋은 결과를 얻었기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 발표하는 바이다.

        췌장암 환자의 난치성 통증 해소를 위한 흉강경하 내장신경절제술 −2예 보고−

        Many patients with upper abdominal organ cancers, including pancreatic cancer, suffer from severe pain, and various methods and techniques have been used for relieving this pain. We present here two cases of patients with pancreatic cancer and they were both successfully relieved of their abdominal pain by performing video-assisted thoracoscopic sympathectomy and splanchnicectomy. This minimally invasive procedure offers promise in carefully selected patients with severe pain from pancreatic cancer and other conditions. 췌장암을 포함한 여러 종류의 상복부암에서 많은 환자들이 심한 통증으로 고생하고 있고, 이로 인해 여러 가지 방법들이 통증조절을 위해서 시도되었다. 저자들은 췌장암으로 극심한 고통을 가진 환자를 흉강경하 내장신경절제술과 교감신경절제술을 시행하였고 별다른 합병증 없이 효과적으로 통증을 조절하였다. 이 미세침습수술은 췌장암 등에 의해 고통 받는 일부 선택된 환자에 있어서 밝은 전망을 제시해 준다.

      • JPEG2000 정지영상 부호화 기술 개요

        멀티미디어 기술의 이용 증가와 더불어, 영상 압축은 새로운 기능과 보다 나은 성능을 필요로 한다. 정지영상 인코딩 분야에서 이 기술을 언급하기 위하여 JPEG2000이라 하는 새로운 표준이 최근 개발되고 있다. JPEG2000 기술은 기존의 표준기술보다 율왜곡, 영상성능 면에서 우수성을 제공할 뿐 아니라 또한 현재의 표준들이 언급할 수 없는 특징이나 기능들을 제공해준다. JPEG2000의 대표적 기술적인 특성으로는 무손실/손실 압축, 무손실 코딩에의 내포된 손실, 화소 정확성과 해상 등에 의한 진보적인 전달, 비트 에러 그리고 관심영역 부호화의 견고함 등이 있다. JPEG2000의 필요성이 강조되는 다양한 응용분야로는 인터넷, 컬러 팩스, 인쇄, 스캐닝, 디지털 사진, 원격 탐사, 이동식 적용, 의학 영상, 전자 도서관과 E-commerce 등이 있다.

        Virtual reality application on MFL gas pipeline inspection system

        This paper describes a visualization technique that animates geometrical defect data that are extracted using a magnetic flux leakage (MFL) operating system on nondestructive evaluation (NDE). Since data are collected from different locations and often not regular, the data must be converted to the standard format that is used within the pipeline in visualization procedures. In order to navigate inside of the pipeline, 3D virtual objects are generated and are able to explore the pipeline continuously. The major objectives of this paper are to characterize, generate general shape of defects, and enable computer interaction in virtual environment. Pipeline navigation system (PNS) has introduced the framework for interactive visual applications based upon the principles of modeling 3D objects. PNS presents some preliminary efforts to enable the user to interact human and computer with each other.

        Scout 영상 기반의 의료영상 정보시스템 구현

        The medical imaging processing area with the development of high-speed Internet and the portable embedded system under prevailed ubiquitous environment is quick in research and development for the system that can search and decipher the patient's information in anytime and anywhere. Especially, the new applications demand utilizing scout images besides diagnostic purposes. With the development of ubiquitous system, medical image viewers are utilizing to the hospitals combined with PACS system and Web browser. This paper implements the mobile terminal based medical image viewing system that shows the potential in wireless environment. 초고속 인터넷의 발달과 휴대용 임베디드시스템이 보편화된 유비쿼터스 환경 아래에서 의료영상처리 분야에도 언제 어디서든지 원하는 환자에 대한 정보를 검색하고 판독할 수 있는 시스템에 대한 연구 및 개발이 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 특히, scout 영상은 진단 목적 이외에 새로운 응용분야에서 필요로 하고 있다. 유비쿼터스 시스템 개발로 의료 영상 뷰어는 PACS 시스템 및 웹브라우저와 결합한 병원에서 활용되고 있다. 본 논문은 무선 환경에서 잠재력을 보여주고 있는 이동단말기 기반의 의료영상 뷰잉시스템을 구현하였다.

        정저압력 계산 프로그램의 개발과 셰일 가스정에서의 검증

        Measuring bottomhole pressure accurately in shale gas wells is a difficult task owing to long-lasting transient flow. This study develops a program to predict bottomhole pressure based on pressure loss correlations using wellhead pressure and gas flow rate. The program adopts Gray correlation and Advanced Gray correlation mainly applied to wet gas wells as well as Beggs and Brill correlation applied to oil-gas wells. For a Marcellus shale gas well, the program provides similar performance compared to commercial software. This application shows 9% difference in the case of using Beggs and Brill correlation and 3% difference in the case of using Gray correlation. For 102 wet gas wells, Advanced Gray correlation yields the absolute average relative error of 9% whereas Beggs and Brill correlation and Gray correlation give 25% error and 10% error, respectively. This program could be applied to the calculation of bottomhole pressure in conventional oil-gas reservoirs as well. 이 연구는 수 년 이상 지속되는 천이유동으로 인하여 정확한 정저압력의 측정이 어려운 셰일가스전에서 압력손실 상관법에 기반하여 정두압력 및 가스 생산량으로부터 정저압력을 추정하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발한 프로그램은 유·가스전에서 보편적으로 사용하는 Beggs & Brill 상관법과 습식 가스전에 주로 사용하는Gray 상관법, 기존 Gray 상관법의 단점을 보완한 Advanced Gray 상관법을 탑재하였다. 북미 셰일가스전의 생산자료에 대한 상용 소프트웨어와의 비교 검증 결과, 개발한 프로그램은 Beggs & Brill 상관법의 경우 약 9%, Gray 상관법의 경우 약 3%의 정저압력 편차를 나타내어 관내 압력손실 예측의 정확도를 확인하였다. 습식 가스전 생산자료를 이용한 검증 결과, Advanced Gray 상관법은 약 9%의 절대 평균 상대오차를 나타내어 각각 약25%와 약 10%의 오차를 나타낸 Beggs & Brill 상관법 및 Gray 상관법보다 우수한 예측성능을 보였다. 개발한프로그램은 정저압력이 미확보된 셰일가스전 및 재래 유・가스전의 정저압력의 계산에 효율적으로 활용할 수있다.

        복합성요실금 환자에서 중부요도슬링의 술 전 예후인자

        Purpose: We wanted to investigate outcomes after midurethral sling(MUS) operations for treating women with mixed urinary incontinence(MUI) and we wanted to identify the factors for achieving a favorable outcome. Materials and Methods: The retrospective data was collected for 279 women with MUI and who underwent a MUS operation with at least 2 years follow up. The following measures were recorded before MUS: a disease-specific validated questionnaire, 1-hour pad tests, standardized stress tests and urodynamic study. The patients were divided as followed; a predominance of bothering symptoms(stress-predominance, urgency- predominance) and the presence of detrusor overactivity(DO). The patients with DO were further classified into the high detrusor pressure (HPDO) group and the low pressure(LPDO) group with a reference level of 15cmH2O of maximum detusor pressure at which involuntary contraction occurred during filling cystometry. The patient's postoperative global impression of improvement, the Bristol Female Lower Urinary Tract Symptom(BFLUTS) score, improvement of stress incontinence(SUI) and urgency were analyzed. Results: The overall success rate of SUI was 96.4%. The predominance of bothering symptoms or the presence of DO did not influence the over all SUI success rate. In a subgroup of women with DO, those women with LPDO showed a significantly higher SUI cure rate than those with HPDO. Urge incontinence resolved in 176(63.1%) and it improved in 60(21.5%), while it was aggravated or it persisted in 43(15.4%). Women with stress- predominant MUI, DO and LPDO experienced better resolution of urgency incontinence, an improved quality of life(QoL) and a higher global impression of improvement. Conclusions: Our results suggest that women with stress-predominant MUI and without DO or with LPDO are more likely to be cured of their urge urinary incontinence after a MUS operation for treating mixed urinary incontinence.         Locating Mechanical Damages Using Magnetic Flux Leakage Inspection in Gas Pipeline System

        Gas transmission pipelines are often inspected and monitored using the magnetic flux leakage method. An inspection vehicle known as a “pig” is launched into the pipeline and conveyed along the pipe by the pressure of natural gas. The pig contains a magnetizer, an array of sensors and a microprocessor-based data acquisition system for logging data. This paper describes magnetic flux leakage (MFL) signal processing used for detecting mechanical damages during an in-line inspection. The overall approach employs noise removal and clustering technique. The proposed method is computationally efficient and can easily be implemented. Results are presented and verified by field tests from an application of the signal processing.

        The mobile terminal system implementation of medical imaging based on Motion-JPEG

        The mobile terminal system plays a key role in medical industries which require in fast and accurate diagnosis from heterogeneous acquisition equipment. The demand for PACS (picture archiving and communication systems) has continued to increase in major hospitals and private clinics. Patient care depends on how fast the medical imaging system provides images and how accurately the images are interpreted by physicians. In this paper, we propose an efficient method to decipher the hundreds of images required by physicians to accurately diagnose patients. By exploring Motion-JPEG (M-JPEG), this paper has demonstrates the possibilities for efficient management of medical images with a newly designed image file format and improvement in imaging diagnoses through the replaying of moving pictures of a patient in a mobile environment.
