      • Progress Report on Development of the MIRIS, the Main Payload of STSAT-3

        MIRIS (Multipurpose Infra-Red Imaging System), the main payload of STSAT-3 (Science and Technology Satellite-3), is the first Korean Infrared Space Telescope developed by KASI (Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute). The FM (fight model) of MIRIS has been recently completed, and various performance tests have been made to measure system parameters such as readout noise, system gain, linearity, and dark current. The MIRIS FM has been integrated to the satellite system for the environment tests scheduled in September 2012. The MIRIS is expected to be launched in November 2012.

      • 精子 洗滌液의 pH와 洗滌頻度 및 수소個體가 精子洗滌液內 水素이온濃度와 소 精子의 尖帽反應에 미치는 影響

        This study was carried out to investigate the effects of pH of sperm-washing solution, sperm-washing frequency and individual bull on concentration of hydrogen ion in sperm-washed solution and sperm acrosome reaction. The results obtained were as follow. 1. When bovine sperm was washed at 4 times with SHP solution and incubated, the difference of light absorbance between sperm-washing and sperm-washed solution(${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At) was higher in 2nd sperm-washed solution than that in the other washed solutions. 2. When sperm was thrice washed with SHP solutions of pH 5.99, 6.38, 6.78, 7.10, 7.40, 7.69, 8.15, 8.45, and 8.83, ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At was significantly increased at pH7.69 to 8.83, and ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At in 1st sperm washed solution was significantly higher than that in 2nd and 3rd sperm washed solution. 3. When sperm of Holstein, KNC and Hereford was thrice washed with SHP solutions of pH 5.99, 6.38, 6.78, 7.10, 7.40, 7.69, 8.15, 8.45, and 8.83, Holstein showed higher ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At of sperm Washed solution than KNC and Hereford, and ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At in sperm washed solution was significantly increased at 7.69 for Holstein and at 8.15 for KNC and Hereford, respectively. 4. When sperm was thrice with SHP solution of pH 6.8, 7.1 and 7.4, and then incubated in mTALP of pH 7.4 for 15 minutes, in 1st and 2nd sperm washing ${\Delta}$Ao-${\Delta}$At of sperm washed solution was significantly higher at pH 7.1 and 7.4 than at pH 6.8, and the sperm acrosome reaction of pH 6.8, 7.1 and 7.4 was 49.1, 68.8 and 72.9%, respectively. The sperm acrosome reaction of pH 7.1 and 7.4 was higher than that of pH 6.8.

        수지의 하전 입자빔 전처리 공정의 최적화

        최근 휴대단말기 시장에서는 블루투스, GPRS, EDGE, 3GSM, HSDPA 등과 같은 높은 대역폭의 RF를 사용하고 있다. 높은 대역폭의 RF 영역에서는 높은 면저항(Sheet resistance)을 갖는 무전도 금속박막 코팅 방법이 사용되고 있는데, 기존의 무전도 금속증착은 사출물 세정, UV 하도 코팅, 금속증착, UV 중도 코팅, 상도 코팅 등 다수의 복합 공정으로 이루어져 있다. 특히 하도공정은 금속 증착(Sputtering)과 일괄 처리가 어려워 생산성이 낮고 생산원가 상승의 원인이기도 하다. 따라서 이를 극복하기 위하여 최근 Na 등 (2014)은 무전도 금속코팅에서 Primer 대체를 위한 전자빔의 표면처리의 가능성을 가능함을 보였다. In this paper, 플라즈마 생성 전자빔 소스(Plasma generated electron beam source)를 활용하여 PC/ABS 수지 사출물의 공정을 실험계획법에 의한 전자빔 조사 조건을 탐색하여, 즉, 수지 표면처리공정 조건을 탐색하여, 그 실험 결과를 분석하여, 진공전처리공정 개발 및 양산공정라인의 처리의 최적 조건을 찾고자 한다. High bandwidth RF such as Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, 3GSM, HSDPA is papular in the mobile phone market. A non-conducting metal coating process requires an e-beam deposition of metal, two steps of UV hard coating primer and top coating; however, it is inefficient. We navigate to the electron beam irradiation conditions(resin surface treatment conditions) in the PC/ABS resin injection process. By analyzing the experimental results, we find the optimum development conditions for the electro deposition pre-treatment process and mass production lines using the plasma generated electron beam source.

        가시화 영상의 웨이브렛 해석

        영상처리에 있어서 갑작스러운 신호와 불확실한 시스템의 특징을 정확하게 표현하기 위하여 많은 연구가 수행되어 왔다. 많이 알려진 퓨리어 변환은 임의 신호의 주파수 해석에 폭넓게 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 이 방법은 시간 축에서 발생하는 갑작스러운 신호 변환과 비정상적인 신호를 주파수 변환 영역에서 나타낼 수 없으므로 유용하지 않다. 본 논문은 이산 웨이브렛을 이용한 영상해석을 하였다. 이는 웨이브렛 영역에서의 극대치는 Lipschitz 지수 표현이 가능하고, 또한 극대치만 사용하여 영상 데이터의 윤곽선 및 데이터 특성을 표현하는 유용함을 나타내었다. 더욱이 적은 극대치만을 사용하여 본래 영상을 재생하는 것도 가능하게 되었다. fractal 해석은 예로서 적용되었다. 그리고, 모형 배에서 기름 띠의 가시화 영상이 해석되었다. 극대치 해석으로 fractal 변수를 구하고, 가시화 영상 해석의 실험으로 양호한 결과를 얻었다. The many studies have been proceeding to express accurately the feature of a sudden signal and a uncertain system in the image processing field. It is well know that Fourier Transform is widely used for frequency analysis of any signal. However, The frequency transform domain is not used for expressing the sudden signal change and non-stationary signal at the time-axis by this method. This paper describes of image analysis by discrete wavelet transform. Wavelet modulus maxima on transformed plane gives the Lipschitz exponent expression, which is useful to examine the characteristics of signal or the edge of an image. It is possible to reconstruct the original image only using the few maxima points. The fractal analysis is applied as an examples. The visualized image of oil flow on a ship model is analyzed. The fractal variable is obtained by the maxima analysis and the good results on the exprement is obtained by the visualized image analysis.

        PbO<sub>2</sub> 전극을 이용한 산화제 생성과 염료 Rhodaime B 제거

        This study has been carried out to evaluate the performance of $PbO_2$ electrode for the purpose of degradation of N,N-Dimethyl-4-nitrosoaniline (RNO, indicator of OH radical), generation of ozone and decolorization of Rhodamine B (RhB) in water. The effect of the applied current (0.2~1.2 A), electrolyte type (NaCl, KCl and $Na_2SO_4$), electrolyte concentration (0.0~2.5 g/L) and solution pH (3~11) were evaluated. Experimental results showed that RhB and RNO removal were increased with the increase of current, NaCl dosage and decrease of pH. Ozone generation tendencies appeared with the almost similar to the RhB and RNO degradation, except of solution pH (Ozone generation was increased with increase of pH). Optimum current for RhB degradation and consumption of electric power was 1.0 A. The RhB degradation with Cl type electrolyte were higher than that with the sulfate type. Optimum NaCl dosage for RhB degradation was 1.0 g/L.

      • 영역기반 영상부호화를 위한 이진 분열에 의한 계층적인 영상분할

        본 논문에서는 이진 분열(binary split)에 의한 새로운 계층구조(hierarchical structure)의 형태학적 영상분할 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 이는 각 계층에서 화질이 가장 낮은 하나의 영역에서 생성된 여러 마커중에서 단지 밝기 차가 가장 큰 두 개의 마커를 이용하여 두 영역으로 분할한다. 따라서 제안한 알고리즘은 기존의 방법보다 제한된 개수의 영역으로 화질의 개선을 가져오고 부호화 비용이 많이 소요되고, 인간시각에 민감하지 않는 경계선 정보를 감소시킨다. 또한 분할되는 영역의 개수를 조절할 수 있어 대역폭이 매우 제한된 PSTN(public switched telephone network), LAN, 그리고 이동통신망과 같은 환경에서 사용하기에 적합하다. 그리고 분할 결과에서 작은 영역을 없애기 위한 후처리 과정이 필요 없고, 각 계층의 단순화 단계에서 작은 크기의 형태소만을 사용하므로 기존의 방법보다 연산량이 적고 구조적으로 매우 간단하다. In this paper, a new morphological image segmentation algorithm of hierarchical structure by binary split is proposed. It splits a region with the lowest quality into two regions using only two markers having the highest contrast. Therefore, it improves the quality of image with limited regions and reduces contour information which is not sensitive to human visual system, when compared with the conventional algorithm. It is appropriate to PSTN, LAN, and mobile networks, of which the available transmission bandwidth is very limited, because the number of regions can be controlled. And the proposed algorithm shows very simple structure because it doesn't need post processing to eliminate small regions and reduces much computation by using only structuring element of small size at simplification step of each hierarchical structure when compared with the conventional algorithm.

        Economic Production of $\gamma$-Interferon from Recombinant Human Cells in Serum Free Medium by a Moving Aeration Membrane Bioreactor

        8 X 10$^{6}$(viable cells/ml) of maximum cell density and 9000(IU/ml) of $\gamma$-IFN production were obtained at 55(ml/hr) of a perfusion rate by cultivating HSF cells using a moving membrane aeration bioreactor. This system proves to be an efficient culture process by maintaning 90% of viable cells during the whole cultivation periods. The metabolic molar quotient of glucose to lactate was 0.81 for overall ranges of glucose consumed while the evolution of ammonia was not linearly related to the consumption of glutamine. Low molar conversion ratio was observed in low consumptions of glutamine and high molar conversion ratio in high comsumptions. It also shows that the glutamolysis plays important role in the steady state conditions by evolving larger quantities of ammonia than lactate. At the above of 50 rpm, which is the optimum agitation speed for this bioreactor, the cell growth was severely affected while the IFN production was less decrea- sed, maintaing 1.5 X 10$^{-3}$(IU/cell/day) specific IFN production rate. The cumulatvie $\gamma$-IFN production was 7.2 X 10$^{8}$(IU) for 70 days of the cultivation, which yields 1 X 10$^{7}$ (IU/day) of IFN production rate. Therefore, a commercial production of $\gamma$-IFN by this culture process can be achievable by maintaining the above IFN productivity in a scaled-up culture system.

        허혈 및 재관류가 흰쥐 및 고양이 심장에 미치는 영향에 관한 형태계측학적 연구

        To understand the structural changes of the myocardial myocytes and endothelial cells in ischemic and reperfused heart, and to elucidate their roles in those conditions, the authors observed cat and rat myocardium ultrastructurally and evaluated them with morphometric techniques. In cat, mild ischemia and moderate degree reperfusion injury was induced by ligation of the anterior interventricular branch of left coronary artery and reperfusion. In rat, severe ischemia and irreversible reperfusion iniury was made using in vitro Langendorff techniques. In normal cat myocytes, the volume densities of cytoplasm, myofibrils, mitochondria, sarcoplasmic reticulum and T tubules were $0.11{\pm}0.013,\;0.51{\pm}0.096,\;0.25{\pm}0.082,\;0.09{\pm}0.008,\;0.02{\pm}0.010$ (Mean${\pm}$S.D.) respectively, and the myofibril/mitochondria ratio was $2.33{\pm}1.379$. The numerical density and average volume of mitochondria were $0.76{\pm}0.210/{\mu}m^3$ and $0.33{\pm}0.057{\mu}m^3$ respectively. In normal cat endothelial cells, the volume densities of cytoplasm, cytoplasmic vesicles, tubular systems (including endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus) and mitochondria were $0.43{\pm}0.023,\;0.28{\pm}0.007,\;0.22{\pm}0.021,\;0.03{\pm}0.014$ respectively. The mean thickness of endothelial cells was $230{\pm}45.2{\mu}m$. The numerical density and average volume of cytoplasmic vesicles were $508{\pm}55.0/{\mu}m^3,\;578{\pm}104.8nm^3$ respectively. In cat myocytes which received mild ischemic injury, the volume densities of organelles were not changed significantly in ischemic and reperfusion states. In reperfusion group myocytes, the numerical density of mitochondria was decreased significantly and the average volume was increased significantly. In endothelial cells, the volume density of tubular system in ischemic group and the average volume of cytoplasmic vesicles in reperfusion group were increased significantly. In rat myocytes which received severe ischemic injury, the volume density and average volume of mitochondria were increased significantly, and the volume density of sarcoplasmic reticulum and numerical density of mitochondria were decreased significantly in both ischemic and reperfusion groups. In ischemic and reperfused endothelial cells, the volume density and numerical density of cytoplasmic vesicles, the volume density of cytoplasm were decreased significantly. The volume densities of tubular system were increased significantly in both ischemic and reperfused groups. The volume density of mitochondria in ischemic group and the average volume of cytoplasmic vesicles in reperfusion group showed significant increase. The authors, based on the above observations, conclude that the mitochondria of myocytes and the cytoplasmic vesicles of endothelia are the first group of targets in ischemic and reperfusion injury and in this respect, the degree of ischemic insult is not significant. The role of myocyte mitochondria in reperfusion injury may be insignificant, but endothelial cells may contribute actively to reperfusion injury.
