A Cytotoxic Component from Angelicae Koreanae Radix against L1210 and HL-60 Cells

A cytotoxic sesquiterpene against L1210 and Hl-60 cells was isolated from Angelicae Koreanae Radix (bulk-kang-hwal). The component was identified as bisabolangelone by means of chemical and physical methods. The $ED_{50}$ values of it were $1.20{\;}\mu\textrm{g}/ml$ against L1210 cells and $2.30{\;}\mu\textrm{g}/ml$ against HL-60 cells. Bisabolangelone was found in bulk-kang-hwal but not in kang-hwal.

To investigate the microfloral composition in activated sludge, more than six hundred bacterial and fungal strains isolated from influent sewage, return sludge and aeration tank of an activated sludge sewage treatment plant were identified to the genus level. During the holding period in the aeration tank development of diverse heterotrophic microbial populations occurred and bacterial and fungal numbers in the aeration tank were 10- to 100-fold higher than in the influent sewage and return sludge. A large number of Gram-negative rods, particularly Pseudomonas, Flavobacterium, Enterobacter, Klebsiella, and Alcaligenes were found to be the dominant genera in the aeration tank. The species of filamentous fungi Trichoderma, Aspergillus, Rhizopus and Lepiomitus, and various yeasts were frequently associated with activated sludge. The most commonly found yeast genera were Candida, Geotrichum, Saccharomyces, Torulopsis and Rhodotorula.
Benzo(a)pyrene에 의한 돌연변이원성과 지질과산화에 미치는 d-Limonene과 Cineole의 억제 효과에 대한 비교연구

It has been reported that d-limonene inhibits chemical-induced rat mammary cancer by the mechanism of increases in detoxification enzymes such as glutathione S-transferases and that cineole fails to exhibit significant suppressive effect on chemical-induced carcinogenesis. The present study was designed to compare the effects of d-limonene and cineole on the benzo(a)pyrene (BP)-induced mutagenicity, BP metabolism and lipid peroxidation. Modified Ames assay was employed to evaluate the inhibitory effect of d-limonene and cineole on the BP-induced mutagenicity. The number of revertant-bearing wells was decreased by 44∼77% in the presence of both BP and d-limonene compared with that of BP alone whereas cineole decreased the number of revertant-bearing wells by 28∼45% at the concentrations between 2㎛ and 2mM. d-Limonene suppressed BP metabolism by 16, 54 and 67% at 1, 10 and 100 mM, respectively while cineole inhibited the metabolism by 16, 26 and 55% at the same concentrations. The EC_50 values for d-limonene and cineole in inhibiting lipid peroxidation were 2.0 mM and 16 mM respectively, as assayed by thiobarbituric acid method. The present study showed that d-limonene and cineole have common antimutagenic effects although d-limonene appeared to be more effective than cineole in suppressing mutation and lipid peroxidation. The results suggest that the antimutagenic effects of d-limonene and cineole may be associated with alternation in enzyme activities and with inhibition of lipid peroxidation.

Nowadays many products using nano-technology have been released and nano-technology would be more prospected in all kinds of industries especially cosmetic manufacturing and ingredient fields. In cosmetics, the saturated lecithin, one of the main surfactants to make liposome, has been used for its stability but it has been substituting by unsaturated lecithin which has excellent skin affinity and penetration. So we studied to develop nano-liposome below 50㎚ with unsaturated lecithin. To make stable nano-liposome, many factors including solvent like propylene glycol, pH balance, homogenizing pressure and liposome stabilizer like surfactant are important especially stearate series surfactants have positive effect in liposome size and long term stability. But in liposome with saturated lecithin, surfactant has negative effect and appropriate amount of oil should be used to be stable. So we could conclude that unsaturated lecithin is suitable than saturated lecithin to make nano-liposome.
傾斜地果樹園의 開園方法과 土壤管理法이 土壤浸蝕防止에 미치는 效果

완 傾斜地에 있어서 開園方法과 土壤管理法이 土壤浸蝕防止에 미치는 效果를 調査하기 위한 方法으로 本實險에서는 傾斜地 果樹園에서 채용되리라 생각되는 몇가지 開園方法과 土壤管理法을 달리하는 試險區를 두어 降雨時 流去되는 流去水量과 流去土重을 調査하였다. 1. 流去水量은 開園方法間에 있어서는 계 단밭區가 가장 적고 土壤管理法間에 있어서는 敷草區와 草生區가 標準區에 比하여 적다. 敷草區와 草生區 間에는 有意差가 없었다. 2. 流去土重은 開園方法間에 있어서는 계단밭區-테라스밭區-標準區의 順位로 土壤管理法間에 있어서는 敷草區-草生區-淸耕區의 順位로 적었다. 3. 結論으로 10˚內外의 완경사지라 할지라도 傾斜밭區로 構築하고 敷草法 土壤管理를 하는 것이 土壤浸蝕防地面으로 가장 效果的인 方法이다. In order to find effects of different establishment methods and soil management system in the hillside orchard on the soil conversation. This study was designed to investigate water quantity and soil weight run off by rain of each treatment plots. As the result of this study, it was suggested that bench terraces with grass mulch system should be the most effective method on protection orchard soil from erosion, even though it is sight solope land as 10˚.
에너지와 인근 피치 간에 유사도를 이용한 잡음레벨 검출에 관한 연구

Human has average pitch-level when speak naturally. That is "Habitual pitch level". However, if noise added at speech, the pitch-wave is changed irregularly. We can estimate noise level of speech by using this point. This paper calculates energy level of the input speech, pitch period from of above limited energy level by NAMDF (Normalized Average Magnitude Difference Function) method, after cut each frame by pitch period unit, and propose a method that estimate noise level through closed pitch of input speech.
