        스트레칭이 의료기관 사무직 종사자의 근 경직도에 미치는 효과

        본 연구는 의료기관 사무직 종사자들의 근 경직도에 대한 스트레칭의 효과를 알아보려고 한다. 총 40명의 젊은 여성 대상자들이 자발적으로 이 연구에 참여했다. 대상자들은 스트레칭 군과 대조군에 무작위로 분류하였다. 스트레칭 중재 전, 대상자의 흉쇄유돌근, 상부승모근, 후두하근, 소흉근의 근 경직도를 측정하였다. 그리고 스트레칭을 스트레칭 군에 적용하였다.중재 후 5분이 지나서 각 근육의 근경직도를 재측정하였다. 스트레칭 군에서 흉쇄유돌근, 상부승모근, 후두하근, 소흉근의 근 경직도는 유의하게 감소하였으며(p<.05), 대조군에서는 중재 전과 후에 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 적절한 스트레칭은 의료기관 사무직 종사자의 근 경직도의 증가로 인해 야기될 수 있는 근골격계 질환을 예방하고 감소시킬 것으로 사료된다. This study is to investigate the effects of stretching of hospital office employees on muscle stiffness. A total of 40 healthy young women voluntarily participated in the study. The participants were randomized to the stretching groups and control groups. Before stretching, the participants measured muscle stiffness of sternocleidomastoid muscle, upper trapezius muscle suboccipital muscles and pectoralis minor. And then applied stretching to stretching group. Muscle stiffness remeasured five minutes later in each group. In all muscles, muscle stiffness of stretching group were significant decreased(p<.05), but control group were no significant difference between pre and post. therefore appropriate stretching is expected to prevent and reduce musculoskeletal diseases caused by increased muscle stiffness in hospital office employees.

        In this study, we study about park and ride facilities at subway station in seoul, since we have perceived that park and ride facilities at subway's station's serious problem on its operation and usage. We practiced the interviews and transfer rate survey so found these problems of operation usage problem, spatial utilization, private park and ride facilities. Through the analysis of these problem we propose the adequate alternatives and we hope that our study contribute operation rationalization of park and ride facilities at subway station.

      • 벼꽃으로부터 두 개의 calmodulin cDNA 유전자의 분리 및 특성 연구

        Ca^(2+)은 신호전달과정에서 중요한 작용을 하는데 CaM은 이러한 Ca^(2+)이은의 modulator로서 중요한 작용을 하는 것으로 알러져 있다. 벼꽃의 cDNA library로부터 rice genomic DNA(RCaM-2)를 probe로 사용하여 30여개의 Positive clones을 얻어 이 중 두 개의 벼꽃 calmodulin CDNA clone을 분리하였다. RFCaMs CDNA clone의 총염기수는 RFCaM-3은 831p, RFCaM-4는 751bp이고 open reading frame은 각각 149개의 아미노산으로 구성되어 있다. RFCaM-3 과 RFCaM-4의아미노산은 동일하지만 nucleotide 순서는 상당한 차이를 나타내고 있다. RFCaMs CDNA clone의 open reading flame은 protein serine/threonine kinase에 보존되어 있는 catalytic domain을 가지고 있다 RfCaM-3은 5'-untranslated region은 105bp, 3'-untranslated region은 270bp이고 RfCaM-4는 5'-untranslated region은 78bp, 3'-untranslatedregion은 283bp이다. RFCaMs는 Arabidopsis와 70%, potato와는 92%, carrot과는 98%의 유사성을 보였다. Genomic southern blot분석에 의하면 벼의 clamodulin 유전자들이 7-8개의 multigene family로 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. Two different calmodulin (CaM) cDNAs (RFCaM-3 and RFCaM-4) were isolated from a rice flower cDNA library by screening with a rice genomic probe (RCaM-2). Both cDNAs are 90% sequence homologous inside the coding region but are highly divergent outside this region. The polypeptides encoded by RFCaM-3 and RFCaM-4 show identical sequence homology. Comparison of the deduced amino acid sequence of the RFCaMs cDNA clone have identity to Arabidopsis (70%), potato (92%), carrot (98%), and barley and soybean (98%). Southern analysis revealed that both cDNAs are encoded by different genes. Four intense and a few weaker bands were observed in the restriction fragments. Most restriction fragments showed high intensity hybridization signals under stringent conditions, suggesting the presence of a small multigene family for CaM in the rice genome as in other plants.

        Aerobic Exercise Affects Myostatin Expression in Aged Rat Skeletal Muscles: A Possibility of Antiaging Effects of Aerobic Exercise Related With Pelvic Floor Muscle and Urethral Rhabdosphincter

        <P><B>Purpose</B></P><P>Aging-induced loss of muscle mass and subsequent reduction of strength is a fundamental cause of frailty, functional decline, and disability. And this may lead to muscular dysfunction, voiding dysfunction, or urinary incontinence due to pelvic muscle weakness induced by aging. Physical exercise has been recommended for the prevention and the treatment of these age-related frail states. We investigated the effects of treadmill exercise on muscle strength, myostatin mRNA and protein expression, and gastrocnemius myocytes proliferation in aged rats to investigate the possible antiaging effects of aerobic exercise on skeletal muscles such as pelvic floor muscles and urethral rhabdosphincter muscle.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>In this study, 5-month-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were used as the young-age group (n=20) and 24-month-old rats were used as the old-age group (n=20). Each group was randomly divided into two groups (n=10 in each group): the sedentary and the treadmill exercise group. The rats in the exercise groups were forced to run on a motorized treadmill for 30 minutes, once a day, for 6 weeks. For this study, a weight load test, hematoxylin and eosin staining, real-time and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction for myostatin mRNA, myostatin western blot, and 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine immunohistochemistry were performed in the gastrocnemius muscle.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>The age-induced reduction of muscle mass and strength was associated with a decrease in myocyte proliferation and an increase in myostatin mRNA and protein expression in the gastrocnemius. However, treadmill exercise improved muscle mass and strength through suppression of myostatin mRNA and protein expression, and myocyte proliferation increase in the gastrocnemius against the aging process.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>Aerobic exercise is a useful strategy for enhancing muscle function against aging-induced loss of skeletal muscle mass and functions.</P>

      • 전통발효식품으로부터 Chitin 분해 미생물의 분리 및 특성 규명

        A bacterial strain CJ-3 which produced chitinase was isolated from Korean traditional soy sauce. Using 16S rDNA analysis, the strain CJ-3 was identified as Bacillus atrophaeus. The approximate molecular weight of the putative chitinase enzyme was 31.0 kDa and the enzyme activity was remarkably induced by addition of colloidal chitin (0.5, 1.0, 2.0%). The antioxidant activity was increased 53% by the browning reaction products of B. atrophaeus CJ-3. Escherichia. coli lipopolysaccharides (LPS)-induced production of nitric oxide (NO) was reduced up to 45% by the browning reaction product in RAW264.7 macrophage. Inhibition of cell viability in the presence of LPS was recovered to normal level by the browning reaction product. These results suggest that browning reaction of B. atrophaeus CJ-3 plays an important role for activation of immune system. B. atrophaeus CJ-3 exhibited optimum temperature and pH of 37℃ and pH 7.8~8.0, respectively. The major intracelluar free amino acid was determined to be glutamate.

      • Bacillus subtilis CJ-3의 항산화력 및 chitinase 특성규명

        전통발효 식품인 간장으로부터 chitinase 활성이 높으면서 갈변반응을 일으키는 균주인Bacillus subtilis CJ-3를 분리하여 균주의 생화학적 특성을 규명하였다. 분리된 균주는 2% colloidal chitin의 첨가에 의하여 chitinase 활성이 현저히 증가되었으며분자량은 대략 31.0 kDa으로 나타났다. 분리된 균주는 항산화 활성을 나타내었으며 갈변반응에 의하여 DPPH 전자공여능법에의한 항산화력은 9.2%에서 63.0%로 증가하였다. 분리된 균주의 최적 생육조건은 최적온도 37℃, 최적 pH 7.0 및 염 농도는 9% NaCl놈도까지는 잘 생육하는 것으로 나타났다. 분리된 균주의 주요 intracellular 유리아미노산은 glutamate로 나타났다. The antioxidant activity of Bacillus subtilis CJ-3 was increased 53% by browning reaction. The Bacillus subtils CJ-3 has an optimum temperature of 37℃, an optimum pH of 7.0-8.0, and stable concentration of 0.5-9.0% sodium chloride. The major intracelluar free amino acid was determined to be glutamate.

        Calmodulin (CaM) plays an important role in sensing and transducing changes in cellular Ca2+concentration in response to several biotic and abiotic stresses. Two cDNA clones encoding two different calmodulin, RFCaM-1, and RFCaM-2, were isolated from a rice flower cDNA library and their nucleotide sequences were analyzed. Comparison of the deduced amino acid sequence of the RFCaMs cDNA clone have identity to Arabidopsis (70%), potato (92%), carrot (98%), and barley and soybean (98%). In order to determine the copy number and genomic structure of the CaM genes present in the rice genome, a genomic Southern blot analysis was performed using a rice calmodulin cDNA clone (RCaM-2) as a probe. Four intense and a few weaker bands were observed in the restriction fragments. Most restriction fragments showed high intensity hybridization signals under stringent conditions, suggesting the presence of a small multigene family for CaM in the rice genome as in other plants.

        핸드피스 부문조건에 따른 부유세균 (氣菌) 의 분포

        최근 치과계에는 교차감염의 문제가 점차 대두되고 있으며, 그 감염경로에는 혈액이나 구강 분비물을 통한 직접접촉과 진료실 장비 등에 의한 간접접촉이 있다. 또한 병원 등 한정된 공간 내에 많은 인원이 수용된 환경에서는 공기 중을 떠다니는 오 염물질에 의한 공기 감염에 보다 많은 관심이 모아지고 있으며, 치과 진료실에서는 고속회전 핸드피스에서 발생하는 분무에 의한 감염이 가장 우려되고 있는 상황이다. 따라서 본 실험에서는 치과 진료실 내 핸드피스 분무에 의한 공기 중 세균 감염 위험성을 파악하고 실제 진료 시, 감염 방지 에 도움을 주는데 그 목적을 두었으며, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 핸드피스를 사용해 진료한 군 97.4 cfu, 핸드피스를 사용하지 않고 진료한 군 5.6 cfu로 핸드피스를 사용해서 진료한 군에서 박테리아 군집의 수가 높게 나타났으며 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(P<0.01). 2. 핸드피스 사용 시 러버댐을 같이 사용한 진료는 22.4 cfu로 러버댐을 사용하지 않고 진료하는 경우보다 박테리아 군집의 수가 낮게 나타났으며, 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(P<0.01). 3. 핸드피스 물 공급원으보 관주용액을 사용한 경우와 증류수를 사용한 경우를 비교 시 관주용액을 사용한 경우 cfu는 22.4 cfu, 증류수의 경우 17.0 cfu로 측정되었으나, 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다(P>0.05). 4. 핸드피스를 사용해 진료하는 경우, 0.5m와 1.5m 거리에서 측정 시 97.4 cfu와 22.0 cfu로 0.5m 거리에서 박테리아 군집의 수가 높게 나타났으며 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(P<O.01). 또한 원거리에서도 핸드피스 분무에 의해 박테리아가 검출되었다. 5. 박테리아균을 분류한 결과 그램양성 구균의 수가 73.9%로 가장 많은 비중을 보였고, 그램음성 구균, 그램음성 간균, 그램양성 간균의 순이었다. In recent years, cross-contamination has become one of the noticeable issues in dental clinic. Two major routes of contamination are the direct-contamination through blood and oral secretion and the indirect-contamination through dental office equipments. Especially, air-contamination through air-floating pollutant in a confined space like hospital, and also contamination through aerosol ejected from high-speed handpiece in a dental office was interested. The purpose of this study was to understand risk of bacterial infection through aerosol from handpiece in a dental office, which will help the practitioner with prevention of contamination during dental treatment. The main findings are as follows. 1. In a comparative test, the group using handpiece has higher bacterial number than the group not using handpiece with significant statistical difference(P<0.01). 2. The group using handpiece with rubber dam has lower bacterial number than the group using handpiece without rubber dam with significant statistical difference(P<0.01). 3. Comparing the group using drainage water with the group using distilled water as a handpiece water source results in 22.4 cfu and 17.0 cfu respectively but the difference is no statistically significant(P>0.05). 4. Measuring cfu at O.5m and 1.5m distance, O.5m distance showed higher bacterial number with statistical significance(P<0.01). 5. Classification of bacterial types showed the largest bacterial number came from gram-positive micrococcus(73.9%), and gram-negative micrococcus, gram-negative bacillus, and gram-positive bacillus follow in descending order.

      • Removal of Cochlodinium polykrikoides using a novel material produced from sediment - A field study

        The present study was conducted in three fields at Namhae to examine the removal efficiency of organic free, heavy metal immobilized sediment on Cochlodinium polykrikoidesand on sea water quality. The present study results concluded that removal efficiency was depends on the initial number of red tide cells. There was no drastic change in the sea water quality after sediment spray. For the comparison of effectiveness of betonite, zeolite and lime were mixed with sediment did not show any marked difference in removal. Finally, the present study evaluated 5Og/m² sediment is Sufficient to remove 100% cells density, even though various environmental factors are interfering the mechanism.
