        M20J 시뮬레이터 개발을 위한 시스템 통합

        This paper proposes a system intergration method for M20J flight simulator development. The simulator consists of three modules. The first module is for flight dynamics simulation, and the second module is for avionic systems and flight instrument and the last module is for interface card which connects PC and input devices using rotary encoders and switches. Two computers are equipped in the simulator for instructor and trainee. An instructor can give a mission to a trainee, and control the flight simulation options through RS-232C serial port. Also, the instructor can monitor the training results of the trainee

        CHIP Promotes Human Telomerase Reverse Transcriptase Degradation and Negatively Regulates Telomerase Activity

        <P>The maintenance of eukaryotic telomeres requires telomerase, which is minimally composed of a telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) and an associated RNA component. Telomerase activity is tightly regulated by expression of human (h) TERT at both the transcriptional and post-translational levels. The Hsp90 and p23 molecular chaperones have been shown to associate with hTERT for the assembly of active telomerase. Here, we show that CHIP (C terminus of Hsc70-interacting protein) physically associates with hTERT in the cytoplasm and regulates the cellular abundance of hTERT through a ubiquitin-mediated degradation. Overexpression of CHIP prevents nuclear translocation of hTERT and promotes hTERT degradation in the cytoplasm, thereby inhibiting telomerase activity. In contrast, knockdown of endogenous CHIP results in the stabilization of cytoplasmic hTERT. However, it does not affect the level of nuclear hTERT and has no effect on telomerase activity and telomere length. We further show that the binding of CHIP and Hsp70 to hTERT inhibits nuclear translocation of hTERT by dissociating p23. However, Hsp90 binding to hTERT was not affected by CHIP overexpression. These results suggest that CHIP can remodel the hTERT-chaperone complexes. Finally, the amount of hTERT associated with CHIP peaks in G(2)/M phases but decreases during S phase, suggesting a cell cycle-dependent regulation of hTERT. Our data suggest that CHIP represents a new pathway for modulating telomerase activity in cancer.</P>

        Development of a high power three-loop nuclear power plant

        A conceptual design for a new three-loop nuclear power reactor at 1700MWe, P<SUP>3</SUP>-1700, is developed. P<SUP>3</SUP> stands for a new design philosophy, which requires protection, performance, and pro-activeness in the design. The design is developed from the proven technology of APR1400, while a significant improvement in the safety and performance is pursued by adopting a new fuel assembly design, a three-loop configuration, and a new safety injection configuration. Feasibility of the proposed design is investigated in terms of the sizing of the major components, a general arrangement, the core design, and a safety system configuration.

        This paper describes the controller for the improving speed control of the AC servo motor. The microprocessor provides an output to the difference in command. The servo system improves the characteristics of speed control. When the motor is running at the same sped as set by the reference signal, the speed encoder also provides a signal of the same frequency. Thus, the microprocessor controlled digital techniques enable to realize the flexible performance and control which was possible with time constant. The results shows that the optimal speed of machining center is 75msec in 30000㎜/min and actually, 75msec is using on machining center. Finally experimental results prove excellent performance of this control system. This can be reduced error with more exact measure of actual speed. The system can be adaptable to CNC machine.

        화상시 T세포 및 자연살해 세포면역능의 변화에 관한 실험적 연구

        Studies of the immune system in both clinicl and experimental burn injury have noted impairment of cellular immunity and this impaired cellular immunity after burn has been demonstrated by prolonged survival allograft, marked depression on delayed hypersensitivety or failure of lymphocyte mitogenesis. However, the exact nature of the mechanisms leading to immunosuppression remains unclear. The aim of this study is to evaluate the level of cellular immunity in burned rats with immune paramenters of T cell subsets and colony forming unit-T lymphocyte (CFTL) as well as natural killer cell mediated cytotoxicity (NKMC). Lymphocytes were isolated sequentially from the blood of control and experimental animals on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 14th postburn days (PBD). T-cell subsets were defined with monoclonal anti rat T lymphocyte antibody by the indirect immunofluoroscence method. The proportions of tatal T cell (Tan T), helper T cell (Th) and helper T cel/suppressor T cell ratio decreased from the 1st PND and revealed most significant reduction on the 5th PBD (Pan T)and 7th PBD (Th, Th/Ts ratio)respectively, but they recovered by the 14th PBC. On the contrary, the percentage of suppressor T cell (Ts) in creased after burn injury and was maximum on the 7th PBD, thereafter it decreased to the nearly control level on the 14th PBD, Number of T-lymphocyte colony (TL-colony) decreased after burn injury, and the changing pattern of its number was quite similar to that of Pan T. The cytotoxicity of natural killer cell against Molt 4 target cells depressed rapidly after burn injury and revealed most significant reduction on the 3rd PBD, but it restored completely on the 7th PBD. Sequential change of cortisol level didn't co-ordinate with that of cellular immunity, and it showed that stress after burn injury did not frnction as a major role to decrese cellular immunity. The results of this study give us a speculation that immunosuppression after burn injury was resulted from decreased helper T cell, increased suppressor T cell and depressed NKMC, and that damage or recovery fo natural killer cells after burn injury is of precedence to that of the T cells.

        This study was tested for the bending stress analysis of hand splint for Hemiplegic Patients. Hemiplegia was represented the stroke and the cerebral palsy. Hand splints of four materials was an Orthoplast hand splint, a Polypropylene hand splint, a Yogips hand splint and an Aluminum hand splint. The Stress Analysis system was made by the electronic oscilloscope, strain gage sensors, amplifier, A/D converter, PC with C program. It will be able to using the important data in splint design. The results of analysis were obtained various different graphes and maximum data in an Orthoplast hand splint, a Polypropylene hand splint, a Yogips hand splint and an Aluminum hand splint.

        In thermoplasticity polymer, mean molecular weight and molecular weight distribution are the important factors which effect the physical property. If impact strength(I.S-) is high, tensile strength(T.S.) and flating weight(F.W-) are low. Because of the reciprocal relation I.S. and T.S. there set a limit to satisfy I.S. and T.S. in single matter at the same time. Applying the superposition principle to the polymer, extemal impact wave pulse on the 3-1ayered stmcture may be changed to the transmitted wave and reflected wave, and then separated waves lose the mechanical energy to the S-layered structure which contains different molecular weight. There is the dispersion and attenuation of the impact energy, hence at the low temperature impact strength and tensile strength synchronously are high.

      • 봄철 농촌에서 집단발생한 장티푸스의 임상상

        Chinical observation was made of 202 cases of typhoid fever, whose charts were reviewed at the department of general surgery of Soonchunhyang University, Chunan Hospital from Mar., 1988 to May, 1988. 1) Typhoid fever was occured most frenquetly in those between the age of 0-9 years old. 2) The male-female ratio on admission was 112:90. 3) Symptoms and signs on admission were fever: 87%, abdominal pain: 68%, diarrhea: 52%, headache: 50%, chill: 43%, nausea and vomiting: 38%. 4) In hematologic fidings on admission, the leucocyte count was below 5000/㎣: 33%, between 5000-10000/㎣: 51%, and above 100000/㎣: 16%. 5) The result of Widal test was positive: 69%(above 1:160). 6) Complications of typhoid fever were intestinal bleeding: 29%, hepatitis or decreased liver function and no jaundice: 19%, intestinal perforation: 10%. 7) Intestinal perforation was occured most frequently in those 20-39 years old and the male-female ratio was 7:3. 8) Intestinal hemorrhage(31%) and intestinal perforation(51%) were developed most frequently at 2 to 3 weeks after onset of symptom. 9) Subdiaphragmatic free air in simple X-ray was found in 70% of intestinal perforated cases. 10) The site of intestinal perforation was within 60cm. proximal from ileocecal valve in 65% of the intestinal perforated cases. 11) Intestinal perforation showed multiple perforation(2-5 sites), 55% and single perforation, 45%. 12) In surgical management, primary closure of the perforation site was in 30% of the cases of anastomosis after resection in 70%.

      • Change in mean temperature as a predictor of extreme temperature change in the Asia–Pacific region

        <P>Trends (1961–2003) in daily maximum and minimum temperatures, extremes and variance were found to be spatially coherent across the Asia–Pacific region. The majority of stations exhibited significant trends: increases in mean maximum and mean minimum temperature, decreases in cold nights and cool days, and increases in warm nights. No station showed a significant increase in cold days or cold nights, but a few sites showed significant decreases in hot days and warm nights. Significant decreases were observed in both maximum and minimum temperature standard deviation in China, Korea and some stations in Japan (probably reflecting urbanization effects), but also for some Thailand and coastal Australian sites. The South Pacific convergence zone (SPCZ) region between Fiji and the Solomon Islands showed a significant increase in maximum temperature variability.</P><P>Correlations between mean temperature and the frequency of extreme temperatures were strongest in the tropical Pacific Ocean from French Polynesia to Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and southern Japan. Correlations were weaker at continental or higher latitude locations, which may partly reflect urbanization.</P><P>For non-urban stations, the dominant distribution change for both maximum and minimum temperature involved a change in the mean, impacting on one or both extremes, with no change in standard deviation. This occurred from French Polynesia to Papua New Guinea (except for maximum temperature changes near the SPCZ), in Malaysia, the Philippines, and several outlying Japanese islands. For urbanized stations the dominant change was a change in the mean and variance, impacting on one or both extremes. This result was particularly evident for minimum temperature.</P><P>The results presented here, for non-urban tropical and maritime locations in the Asia–Pacific region, support the hypothesis that changes in mean temperature may be used to predict changes in extreme temperatures. At urbanized or higher latitude locations, changes in variance should be incorporated. Copyright © 2005 Royal Meteorological Society.</P>

      • Distinctive hematological abnormalities in East Asian neonates and children with down syndrome

        <P><B>Summary</B></P><P><B>Introduction: </B> Neonates with Down syndrome (DS) are predisposed to developing transient abnormal myelopoiesis (TAM) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) associated with DS. However, there is a paucity of data on hematological aberrations and <I>GATA1</I> mutations in neonates with DS in East Asian populations.</P><P><B>Methods: </B> Total 109 patients with DS who had one or more CBCs obtained were enrolled. The molecular analysis of the <I>GATA1</I> gene performed in 10 patients (three TAM, three AML associated with DS at diagnosis, one remission case of AML associated with DS and three DS without TAM or AML).</P><P><B>Results: </B> East Asian DS neonates showed low frequency of thrombocytopenia, uncommon neutrophilia and higher prevalence rate of TAM compared to previous reports from western countries. <I>GATA1</I> mutations were identified in almost all TAM and AML associated with DS samples, but were not detected in the samples from DS without TAM or AML associated with DS.</P><P><B>Conclusion: </B> East Asian DS neonates and children showed distinctive spectrum of hematological abnormalities.</P>
