        Heavy concrete shielding properties for carbon therapy

        As medical facilities are usually built at urban areas, special concrete aggregates and evaluation methods are needed to optimize the design of concrete walls by balancing density, thickness, material composition, cost, and other factors. Carbon treatment rooms require a high radiation shielding requirement, as the neutron yield from carbon therapy is much higher than the neutron yield of protons. In this case study, the maximum carbon energy is 430 MeV/u and the maximum current is 0.27 nA from a hybrid particle therapy system. Hospital or facility construction should consider this requirement to design a special heavy concrete. In this work, magnetite is adopted as the major aggregate. Density is determined mainly by the major aggregate content of magnetite, and a heavy concrete test block was constructed for structural tests. The compressive strength is 35.7 MPa. The density ranges from 3.65 g/cm<sup>3</sup> to 4.14 g/cm<sup>3</sup>, and the iron mass content ranges from 53.78% to 60.38% from the 12 cored sample measurements. It was found that there is a linear relationship between density and iron content, and mixing impurities should be the major reason leading to the nonuniform element and density distribution. The effect of this nonuniformity on radiation shielding properties for a carbon treatment room is investigated by three groups of Monte Carlo simulations. Higher density dominates to reduce shielding thickness. However, a higher content of high-Z elements will weaken the shielding strength, especially at a lower dose rate threshold and vice versa. The weakened side effect of a high iron content on the shielding property is obvious at 2.5 µSv=h. Therefore, we should not blindly pursue high Z content in engineering. If the thickness is constrained to 2 m, then the density can be reduced to 3.3 g/cm<sup>3</sup>, which will save cost by reducing the magnetite composition with 50.44% iron content. If a higher density of 3.9 g/cm<sup>3</sup> with 57.65% iron content is selected for construction, then the thickness of the wall can be reduced to 174.2 cm, which will save space for equipment installation.

        MiR-374b Promotes Proliferation and Inhibits Apoptosis of Human GIST Cells by Inhibiting PTEN through Activation of the PI3K/Akt Pathway

        Gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. In order to investigate a new treatment fot GIST, we hypothesized the effect of miR-374b targeting PTEN gene-mediated PI3K/Akt signal transduction pathway on proliferation and apoptosis of human gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) cells. We obtained GIST tissues and adjacent normal tissues from 143 patients with GIST to measure the levels of miR-374b, PTEN, PI3K, Akt, caspase9, Bax, MMP2, MMP9, ki67, PCNA, P53 and cyclinD1. Finally, cell viability, cell cycle and apoptosis were detected. According to the KFGG analysis of DEGs, PTEN was involved in a variety of signaling pathways and miRs were associated with cancer development. The results showed that MiR-374b was highly expressed, while PTEN was downregulated in the GIST tissues. The levels of miR-374b, PI3K, AKT and PTEN were related to tumor diameter and pathological stage. Additionally, miR-374b increased the mRNA and protein levels of PI3K, Akt, MMP2, MMP9, P53 and cyclinD1, suggesting that miR-374b activates PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in GIST-T1 cells. Moreover, MiR-374b promoted cell viability, migration, invasion, and cell cycle entry, and inhibited apoptosis in GIST cells. Taken together, the results indicated that miR-374b pro-motes viability and inhibits apoptosis of human GIST cells by targeting PTEN gene through the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Thus, this study provides a new potential target for GIST treatment.

        論宋代法律文明對社會歷史發展的積極作用

        宋朝는 中國法制史에서 唐朝 이후에 가장 빛난 업적을 이루었던 시기이고, 元ㆍ明ㆍ淸과 동시대의 서방과 비교해보아도 法律制度의 設計와 執行에 있어서 이들과 비교하여 文明化 되어가는 특징을 보여주는 시기이다. 송대 법률이 문명화는 국가정권의 안정과 吏治의 淸明함을 촉진시켰고, 司法의 公正과 사회모순의 불균형을 감소시켰다. 經濟法과 財政稅收法 등은 農業ㆍ手工業ㆍ商業과 같은 분야의 발전을 촉진시켰고, 국가 재정 수입을 확보하였으며 송조가 중국 경제사에서 전성기를 맞이할 수 있는 역할을 하였다. 民事法律의 제정과 개선은 중국사에서 법률의 기초가 되는 "重刑輕民"의 전통을 보완하는 역할을 하여 부녀자ㆍ노약자ㆍ장애인과 같은 사회 약자층의 權益을 보호하였다. 그리고 文化敎育ㆍ書籍出版ㆍ輿情收集 등의 방면에 法을 확립하였으며, 이와 관련된 분야의 발전과 여론의 개방을 촉진하였다. 송대 법률 문명화로의 발전은 송대 이후의 왕조들이 法制를 완성하는데 큰 영향을 끼쳤다. Compared with the Yuan Ming and Qing Dynasties and even the same period of the western countries, the Song Dynasty is the most glorious era after the Tang Dynasty in Chinese legal history.Its legal system shows more prominent civilization trend in the design and execution. The legal civilization of Song Dynasty promoted the stability of the state power and the integrity of the officials, maintained the judicial justice and reduced the social conflicts. The Economic Law and the Fiscal and Tax Law promoted agriculture, handicraft industry and business fields, guaranteed the national fiscal revenues and made the Song Dynasty to be another peak of the economic history in ancient China. Its adjustment and improvement to the Civil Law, in part make up for the tradition of "value the panalty and despise the people"in Chinese ancient law, and preferably maintained the rights of the social vulnerable groups such as women, young and old, orphans and the disabled. And the legislation on cultural education, book publishing and public opinion collection also promoted the development of the related fields and the freedom of public opinion.

        Proteomic Profiles of Mouse Neuro N2a Cells Infected with Variant Virulence of Rabies Viruses

        We characterized the proteomes of murine N2a cells following infection with three rabies virus (RV) strains, characterized by distinct virulence phenotypes (i.e., virulent BD06, fixed CVS-11, and attenuated SRV9 strains), and identified 35 changes to protein expression using twodimensional gel electrophoresis in whole-cell lysates. The annotated functions of these proteins are involved in various cytoskeletal, signal transduction, stress response, and metabolic processes. Specifically, a-enolase, prx-4, vimentin, cytokine-induced apoptosis inhibitor 1 (CIAPIN1) and prx-6 were significantly up-regulated, whereas Trx like-1 and galectin-1 were down-regulated following infection of N2a cells with all three rabies virus strains. However, comparing expressions of all 35 proteins affected between BD06-, CVS-11-, and SRV9-infected cells, specific changes in expression were also observed. The up-regulation of vimentin, CIAPIN1, prx-4, and 14-3-3 θ/δ, and downregulation of NDPK-B and HSP-1 with CVS and SRV9 infection were ≥2 times greater than with BD06. Meanwhile, Zfp12 protein, splicing factor, and arginine/serine-rich 1 were unaltered in the cells infected with BD06 and CVS- 11, but were up-regulated in the group infected with SRV9. The proteomic alterations described here may suggest that these changes to protein expression correlate with the rabies virus`` adaptability and virulence in N2a cells, and hence provides new clues as to the response of N2a host cells to rabies virus infections, and may also aid in uncovering new pathways in these cells that are involved in rabies infections. Further characterization of the functions of the affected proteins may contribute to our understanding of the mechanisms of RV infection and pathogenesis.

        Synchronous tele-ultrasonography is helpful for a naive operator to perform high-quality thyroid ultrasound examinations

        Purpose: This study investigated the value of synchronous tele-ultrasonography (TUS) for naive operators in thyroid ultrasonography (US) examinations.Methods: Ninety-seven patients were included in this prospective, parallel-controlled trial. Thyroid scanning and diagnosis were completed by resident A independently, resident B with guidance from a US expert through synchronous TUS, and an on-site US expert. The on-site expert’s findings constituted the reference standard. Two other off-site US experts analyzed all data in a blind manner. Inter-operator consistency between the two residents and the on-site US expert for thyroid size measurements, nodule measurements, nodule features, American College of Radiology (ACR) Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System (TI-RADS) categories, and image quality was compared. Two questionnaires were completed to evaluate the clinical benefit.Results: Resident B detected more nodules consistent with the on-site expert than resident A did (89.4% vs. 56.5%, P<0.001). Resident B achieved excellent consistency with the on-site expert in terms of ACR TI-RADS categories, nodule composition, shape, echogenic foci, and vascularity (all intra-class correlation coefficients [ICCs] >0.75), while resident A achieved lower consistency in ACR TI-RADS categories, composition, echogenicity, margin, echogenic foci, and vascularity (all ICCs 0.40-0.75). Residents A and B had excellent consistency in target nodule measurements (all ICCs >0.75). Resident B achieved better performance than resident A for gray values, time gain compensation, depth, color Doppler adjustment, and the visibility of key information (all P<0.05). Furthermore, 61.9% (60/97) of patients accepted synchronous TUS, and 59.8% (58/97) patients were willing to pay for it.Conclusion: Synchronous TUS can help inexperienced residents achieve comparable thyroid diagnostic capability to a US expert.

        Computed Tomography Arteriography for Detecting the Origin of the Inferior Pyloric Artery in Patients with Gastric Cancer

        Objective: To analyze the detection rate of the inferior pyloric artery (IPA) in patients with gastric cancer by computed tomography arteriography (CTA). Materials and Methods: Fifty-four patients (48 males and 6 females; mean age, 59.0 ± 1.5 years) who had undergone radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer from September 2016 to July 2017 at our institution were recruited prospectively. Patients underwent abdominal contrast-enhanced CT scans and CTA imaging reconstruction before the operation. The origin of the IPA in all cases was determined by a radiologist based on CTA images and verified by the surgeon. The accuracy of CTA in diagnosing the origin of the IPA was calculated. Dominant vessels of the origin were analyzed. Results: IPAs were detected by CTA in 51 patients (94.4%). Among these, IPAs originated from the right gastroepiploic artery (RGEA) (24 cases), the gastroduodenal artery (GDA) (4 cases), and the anterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery (ASPDA) (20 cases). In the remaining 3 cases, the IPAs contained two branches originating from the RGEA and ASPDA, respectively. During surgery, in 2 (3.7%) of the 54 cases of gastric cancer, IPAs could not be detected; the IPAs originated from the RGEA (22 cases), GDA (5 cases), and ASPDA (24 cases). One case had an IPA originating from both the RGEA and the GDA. Finally, the accuracy of CTA in diagnosing the origin artery of the IPA was 85.2% (46/54). Conclusion: CTA can detect the origin of the IPA accurately, which can aid surgeons while performing pylorus-preserving operations.

        Research on the Application of Financial Arbitration Rules and Hot Topics in China

        In China, financial arbitration is an integral part of the diversified mechanism for resolving financial disputes and serves as a valuable supplement to judicial litigation ain financial cases. With its comparative advantages in professionalism, efficiency, confidentiality, finality, and enforcement, financial arbitration has gained increasing popularity among parties involved in financial disputes, becoming an important system for their rights relief and leading to a continuous rise in the number and subject matter value of financial arbitration cases. However, there are certain differences in the financial arbitration rules formulated by arbitration commissions across different regions of China, particularly in terms of the application mode of arbitration rules, relevant time limits for arbitration procedures, and the appointment of arbitrators. Consequently, there is an urgent need for comprehensive national legislation specifically addressing financial arbitration. Regarding the focal points of disputes in financial arbitration cases, they mainly revolve around the determination of the manager’s fulfillment of the suitability obligations, the assumption of post-investment management obligations by managers, and the determination of the statutory responsibilities of asset custodians. In the post-pandemic era, the adjudicative approach of Chinese financial arbitration has been consistently evolving in line with the principles of good faith, freedom of contract, and fairness and justice. Additionally, there is a noticeable trend towards digital transformation in financial arbitration, and the synergistic mechanism among arbitration, litigation, and mediation has been greatly optimized.

        Load Sharing Performance of Herringbone Planetary Gear System with Flexible Pin

        To study the load distribution mechanism of the power-split transmission, and improve the carrying capacity of the herringbone star gear transmission system, the dynamic model of the planetary gear system for a geared turbofan engine with the flexible pin was established based on the node finite element method. The model considered the comprehensive influence of meshing error, time-varying meshing stiffness, bearing supporting stiffness and meshing phase. The dynamic load sharing performance of the system were studied in the equivalent meshing error, and the influence of the error incentives and structure of pins on the load sharing characteristics was analyzed. The results indicate that the vibration track of the center gears deviates from the origin because of the eccentricity error. The load sharing performance of the system can be improved by improving gears’ manufacturing precision. Moreover, the influence of manufacturing errors is larger than that of assembling errors. The flexible pin improved by Montestruc has the best load sharing performance among the four types of pin models designed in the study. The load sharing performance declines with an increase of in input speed and a decrease in input power.
