This thesis proves masochism in the art aspect could be a dynamic power to get over and critique a materialistic and impure world which oppress individual, and it is most likely imaged as overturn writing through Seo Young-en's Story. In the real world of suffering and trial there is hopelessness and loneliness. We can sustain both virtue's of patience and affirmation through bravery and transcendence through Seo Young-en's Masochism is not to escape but to fight against it all. The Masochism in Seo Young-en's story is the power to withstand this real world. Therefore, Seo Young-en's Masochism deepens a solitude because of the coldness against sensual pleasures. And there is criticism, challenge, and sublimation inside. Seo Young-en writes about the women-herself existence and resistance strategy by enlarging self-conscious challenges through patience and not to revenge about the world. In a disguised women outward appearance, it may seem like means of a woman independence following with sexual method to protect herself. However, Seo Young-en's heroins who protect themselves and make desire under the sexual oppression. With this reason, the challenge is not agile or easy. She resembles a warrior fighting bravely against her own destiny. Seo Young-en's writing style, ""crying in the heart, smiling on the face"", is deceiving all people included her colleagues, that is, get out of the real world, but says the truth, and seems like agreeable, but offers a desperately resistance. This point tells us Seo Young-en's novel is the double-faced text looked on both excessively conservative and radical. Seo Young-en's writing through the masochism esthetic finally shows the mainstream of the woman writing which is not passively and dependably escapable masochism but tolerate and making up the independence oneself. This discovery is revaluation about writer Seo Young-en and should be comprehended the recovery about the masochism which was known as supplementary configuration of the Sadism.

A survey of knowledge and behavior regarding skin cancer.

Background: The recognition of prevention and early detection of skin cancer has been increased more than before. Although skin cancer is not rare, most patients are little known about general awareness of skin cancer. Objectives: In this study, we survey the awareness and knowledge of skin cancer and sun protection behavior among South-Gyeongnam province. Methods: We reviewed a written questionnaire and patients’ self-checked records including patients’ basic medical information and knowledge of skin cancer protective modalities. Results: In total 284 subjects (94.7%(284/300), 67%(190/284) females, mean age 57.4 years) completed the survey. Most people (77.5%, 220/284) knew that the sun was most dangerous for their skin but relatively large portion of them (42.7%, 94/220) had no action to protective attitude like sun screen, large hat and gloves. Conclusion: The results show that many participants had known necessity of skin cancer prevention and importance of early detection, but didn’t have had any protective action. Therefore, a more effective skin cancer education and prevention program is needed. We suggest that the measurement of effects of a multimodal educational intervention on knowledge of sun protection practices and engagement in self sun-protection behaviors also need to be check.

한국전쟁기 김말봉 소설의 이데올로기 연구 -< 별들의 고향 >을 중심으로-

본고는 김말봉의 소설 < 별들의 고향 >을 대상으로 한국전쟁기에 발표된 해방-전쟁 체험문학으로서 가치와 김말봉 소설을 통시적으로 연구하기 위한 단초를 마련하고자 하였다. <별들의 고향>은 1947년 크리스마스를 이틀 앞둔 날로부터 시작하여 대한민국 정부 수립의 과정, 한국전쟁, 피난 등 한국 역사상 가장 비극적인 4년을 기록하고 있다. 처절한 역사의 소용돌이에서 작중인물이 겪는 삶의 부침은 역사적 사건 뒤에 숨겨진 혼란한 이면들에 대한 문학적 반영이다. 작가는 역사적 사실로서 ‘전체주의’(공산주의)와 ‘자유주의’(민주주의)를 이항 대립적으로 서사화하면서 반공주의를 당위적 가치로서 선언하고 있다. 우익의 자유주의, 민족주의적 색채를 표면화하기보다 좌익의 ‘악’,‘추’, ‘부정’적 요소를 전면화하여 당위적으로 제시되는 인과응보적 결말은 이데올로기의 교훈성을 강제하며 자유민주주의/반공주의를 수호하고자 했던 작가 김말봉의 사상의 민낯을 드러낸다. 반도대학 정치과의 최창열은 스스로를 초인으로 자처하였기에 송난,연심과의 애정 관계에서 심한 마음의 부침을 겪고 신을 모독하고 부정한다. 하지만 이러한 반항의 과정은 두 번의 탈피(연심의 죽음을 통한 육체적 탈피, 송난의 애정갈등을 통한 정신적 탈피)를 통해 자기 부정의 과정을 거치면서 자연스럽게 하느님과 김영숙에게 인도되는 필연적 과정으로 그려진다. 이론과 간접 경험으로만 하나님을 영접한 창열에게 한국전쟁은 하나님을 권능을 생 체험하게 되는 종교적 계기가 된다. 신의 사도들에게 한국전쟁은 신을 불신하는 계기가 아니라 오히려 기도를 배우고 신을 경험하게 되는 계기가 되었다. 이 작품의 주제의식은 결말에 이르러 ‘별’을 통해 상징화된다. 공산주의에 대항하여 끝까지 자유민주주의/반공주의를 선택한 사람들의 영혼으로서의 별은 이데올로기적 투사물이며, 암흑의 시대에 고향을 지키는 수호와 안내의 상징으로서 별은 종교적 투사물이다. 두 개의 주제의식은 변별적으로 제시되는 것이 아니라 반공주의=기독교주의=가족주의가 동항을 이루고 공산주의=반기독교주의=반가족주의가 대립적으로 위치하면서 선과 악의 이항대립적 관계를 형성한다. 작가는 반공이데올로기를 비롯한 정치적 강령이 삼투된 기독교주의를 절대적 우위를 놓고 있는데 이러한 우익 편향의 시대인식은 김말봉의 해방이후 작품세계를 지배하는 절대적 가치로 군림한다. This study evaluates war-experienced literature which is released in Korean War, Kim, Mal-bong``s noble < Homeland of Star >, and begins to study Kim, Mal-bong``s story with diachronic change. Writer makes a narrative by mutual oppositively between communism and democratic, and testimonies liberal democracy as a natural value. Fictionalizing of historical incident faces crisis when a ``goodwill(liberal democracy)`` in poor exposed to coercive and strong ``evil(communism)``. Evil``s temporary victory and goodwill``s reserves are related to return of stronger goodwill and evil``s extermination, and good will``s one-sided victory is realized naturally as a punitive justice at last. Choi, Chang-yeol, political science of Bando college, named himself as a superman. That is the reason why he has been tortured by the relationships with Song nan and Yeon sim, and he violates the sanctity and denies. But, this kind of reaction describes to guide to the God and Kim, young-sook smoothly via self-denial steps through twice breaks(physical break through the death of Youn sim and mental break through Song nan``s love affair). For Chang-yeol who receive the God with a theory and secondary experiences, Korean War is a religiously momentum to experience the God``s power. For messengers of the God, Korean War is the chance to learn a pray and not to disbelief the God but to experience the God. They became messengers to deliver a God``s message that they``ve experienced from human being with a desire. As a appropriate value, liberal democracy and christianity show compressively < Homeland of Star >``s sense of subject, writer``s sense of history, and his world of writing works. At the last part of the story, a star that Chang-yeol, Young-sook, Young-joo, and Deuk-soon watch together is a symbol to prove these two values literally and religiously. A star that is identified a ghost of dead people who worked for value of liberal democracy expresses a virtue of justice, order, and freedom. Now, Chang-yeol, Young-sook, Young-joo, and Deuk-soon will illuminate splendid light to human world as a messenger of the God and will open at dawn to stimulate hope and courage with other stars that will be risen up afterwards.

Lichen planus pigmentosus (LPP) is an uncommon variant of lichen planus that tends to occur in middle-aged individuals with darker pigmented skin. Clinical findings include hyperpigmented, brown to gray-brown macules and patches on sun-exposed areas and, in the rare inversus variant, on the flexural areas and intertriginous zones. The pattern of pigmentation is generally diffuse, although follicular, reticular, and unilateral linear variants have been described. We recently encountered a rare case of LPP developed in flexural area, not in sun-exposed area. A 58-year-old male patient presented with brown macules on the inguinal area for 6 months. One or two dark brown macules first appeared and spread gradually. A physical examination showed multiple, ill-defined, dark brown macules on inguinal area. The dermoscopic finding showed mottled pattern and elevated margin. The incisional biopsy was performed and a diagnosis of LPP was made. The fact that LPP can develop in non-sun-exposed areas as well as sun-exposed ones requires a new hypothesis for the pathogenesis of LPP.

Rat의 복강내에 투여한 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid 제형이 장기에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

For more effective intraperitoneal chemotherapy, the authers made 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid composite disks(FU-PGA disks) with 5-fluorouracil and polyglycolic acid, a biodegradable polymer. We inserted the FU-PGA disk into the peritoneal cavites of Sprague-Dawley male rats, the control and three experimental groups; one FU-PGA disk insert group(300mg/kg), two FU-PGA disk insert group(600mg/kg), and three FU-PGA disk insert group(900mg/kg). The control group received a similar number of PGA disk inserts. A pharmacokinetic study was performed to measure the 5-fluorouracil concentration in the peritoneal fluid, blood, and tissues(liver, kidney and heart) at 24 hours, 72hours and 168 hours after insertion of the FU-PGA disk. Light and electron microscopic studies were done. The results were as follows: 1) The number of white blood cells and platelets decreased after FU-PGA insertion. The degree was proportional to the duration and amounts inserted. The change in the number of red blood cells varied slightly. 2) Light microscopically, slight changes were noted at 168 hours in the 3 disk insert group (900mg/kg). Mild fatty change and hepatocyte degeneration around the central veins of the liver were noted, with vacuolar degeneration in the proximal convoluted tubules of the kidney. 3) Electron microscopically,the liver showed focal increases of lipid droplets in the hepatocytes, and irregular nuclear membrane with focal nucleolar segregation of the fibrillar and granular elements. Also the double membranous structure of the hepatocytes and Kupffer cells was widened with bleb formation. The kidney showed wide separation of the nuclear double membrane in the proximal convoluted tubular cells and mesangial cells, with vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the proximal convoluted tubular cells, at 72 hours and 168 hours in the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. The heart showed focal loss of cristae,vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. In conclusion, despite the large amont of FU-PGA inserted, the histopathological changes in the liver, kidney and heart were slight, and consonant with the very low amount of 5-fluorouracil concentrations detected in the liver, kidney and heart. The above results suggest that the FU-PGA composite can serve as a new device for releasing drugs in a controlled manner and easily targeted to intraperitoneal organs. This device can improve the efficacy of intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer.

일반논문 : 장덕조 신문 연재 장편 「은하수」 연구

식민지 시대에 쓰인 장덕조 초기소설은 이후 70여 년 동안 지속된 장덕조 소설의 주제의식을 예비하고 있다. 본고에서는 작가의 초기소설 중 신문에 연재된 처녀 장편 「은하수」(1937.7.17-12.29.)를 통해 초기소설의 주제 의식과 작가의 세계관을 살펴보고자 한다. 「은하수」는 장르적으로 볼 때 대중연애소설임에도 주인공 남성과의 연애 관계는 약화되고 오히려 식민지 여성들의 개인적, 사회적 수난사가 전면화 되어 있기에 제명 (題名) 「은하수」처럼 아름답고 고귀하지만 한 곳에 정착하지 못하고 부유(浮游)하는 ``약하고 불쌍한 무리들``의 수난을 인물 분석을 통해 살필 필요가 있다. 소설 속에서 세상의 지탄을 받는 살인하는 여자(신영순), 타락하는 여자(김명애), 자살하는 여자(정신적 자살-오현경)의 내막과 심경은 광인의 살기어린 목소리를 통해 직설적으로 전달된다. 이들이 살인하거나 타락하거나 미칠 수밖에 없는 이유는 남성으로 대변되는 사회의 부조리 때문이다. 여성들이 다른 시대적 감각과 성격, 외모를 가지고 있지만 하나같이 똑같은 운명을 살아갈 수밖에 없는 것은 ``계집된 죄``라는 공통된 운명의 질곡 때문이며 남성들은 오직 태생적으로 갖게 된 남성된 무기를 특권처럼 휘둘러 여성을 시련과 고통으로 내모는 것이다. 하지만 이 작품에서 남성으로 대변되는 사회적 불합리만을 비판하는 것은 아니다. 주눅과 자만, 콤플렉스 등의 여성 개인적 결함까지 함께 비판함으로써 다양한 각도에서 식민지 여성의 삶과 시련, 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하고 있는 것이다. Early Jang, Duk-jo`s story in colonial era presented her story`s main subject last for 70 years. This study examines her first serial story in a newspaper 「the Milky Way」(1937.7.17-12.29) and try to find out her early work`s thematic consciousness and her own view of the world. Although 「the Milky Way」 is the public love story, having relationships with male character weakened and female character`s individual and social hardships are exposed in colonial era. Accordingly, weak and pitiful character`s hardships in the story have to be analyzed just like "the Milky Way", beautiful and noble but go around. In the story, killer woman(Shin, Young-soon), corrupted woman(Kim, Myoung-ae), committing suicide woman(psychological suicide-Oh, Hyun-kyung)`s core hearts are delivered directly. The reason why they kill people, being corrupted, or get crazy is because social irrationality which is represented by masculine gender. Women have different sense and appearance, but they can`t live with same destiny. There is one very important reason; women have common guilt because they are female and men have a privilege and use this force only because they are male. However, this story criticized male-dominated social irrationality but female`s timid, conceit, and complex and suggested female`s life, hardship and promising perspective under the colonial era.

2003년 국내 중증급성호흡기증후군 진료 현황 및 문제점 분석

목적 : 2002년 말 중국에서 SARS가 발생한 이후 국내에서도 2003년 10월까지 총 3명의 추정환자, 17명의 의심환자가 보고되었다. 향후 추가적인 SARS의 유행이 우려되는 상황에서, 그간의 SARS 환자 진료에 있어서의 실질적인 준비사항, 진료 현황 등에 대한 조사를 통해 문제점을 파악하여, 향후 더 나은 대비가 될 수 있도록 개선점을 제시하고자 하였다. 재료 및 방법 : SARS로 의심되는 환자를 진료 경험이 있는 병원의료진을 대상으로 2003년 10월에 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문에는 SARS 환자 진료 시의 실질적인 조치, 진료 현황, 병실, 응급실 및 외래에서의 격리 시설과 준비사항, 보건당국의 관리와 지원에 관한 사항을 포함하였다. 결과 : 대상이 되는 22개 병원 중 17개(17/22, 77.2%) 병원이 설문에 응하였다. SARS 환자를 위한 격리실은 응급실, 외래, 일반병실 및 중환자실에서 각각 9개(9/17, 52.9%), 5개(5/17, 29.4%), 15개(15/16, 93.7%), 4개(4/16, 25%) 병원에서 음압처리가 되어있지 않은 일인실 혹은 다인실이 사용되었고, 1개(1/16, 6.3%) 병원에서만 일반병실에서 음압격리실이 운영되었다. 입원환자의 진찰 시 개인보호구의 착용은 거의 모든 의료기관에서 이루어졌다. 보건당국에서 SARS지정병원의 시설 등을 사전에 확인한 곳은 1곳(1/12, 8.3%)이였고, 14개 병원(14/15, 93.3%)에서는 보건당국에 의뢰한 검사결과를 통하 받지 못하였다. 결론 : 의료기관에서 SARS 환자용 격리실뿐만 아니라 기존의 격리실 설비 등이 미흡하였으며, 특히 중환자실 및 외래의 준비가 더욱 부족하였다. 보건당국의 의료기관에 대한 종합적인 지원이 부족하였고, 병원과의 원활한 연계가 잘 이루어지지 않았다. SARS 만이 아닌 격리를 필요로 하는 질환의 적절한 진료를 위해 향후 병원 시설의 정비와 정부차원에서의 보다 구체적이고 실질적인 대책마련이 필요하다. Background : There was an worldwide outbreak of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) originated from China in late 2002. During that period three cases of suspected SARS and 17 cases of probable SARS were reported in Korea. With the concerns about the reemergence of SARS-coV transmission, it is important to be prepared for any possibility. So, this study is aimed to analysis the past measures in managing SARS and propose the amendatory plans to improve the preparedness. Materials & Methods : Questionnaires were collected among clinicians with any experience in managing the probable or suspected SARS cases in Oct. 2003. 17 out of 22 hospitals responded to the questionnaire. The contents in the questionnaire were practical activities, personal equipments, response plans, isolation facilities in emergency centers, outpatient clinics, general wards and intensive care units, and relationship with the public health department. Results : The dedicated isolation rooms in emergency centers, outpatient clinics, general wards, and intensive care units were prepared in 9 (9/17, 52.9%), 5 (5/17, 29.4%), 15 (15/16, 93.7%), and 4 (4/16, 25.0%) hospitals, respectively. Except for one hospital that newly made negative pressure room for SARS, single or multi-bed rooms without airborne infection control were used in all the other hospitals. The personal precaution principles were kept quite well in general wards. Before the designation of SARS hospital by the public health department prior evalution to see if the hospital was suitable for managing SARS was conducted in only 1 (1/12, 8.3%) hospital. The results of laboratory diagnosis were reported back in 1 (1/15, 6.6%) hospital. Conclusions : The isolation facilities which can control airborne infection were almost deficient not only for SARS but also for other respiratory transmissible diseases. For the infection control of transmissible diseases including SARS, more investment is needed on medical facilities and comprehensive support from the public health department required.

시중 절임배추의 품질 평가

This research aimed to investigate the quality of conventional salted cabbages. Here, we studied the general characteristics and microbiological aspects of purchased salted cabbage samples from 15 companies. The purchased salted cabbages used a sun-dried salt, but two samples used a mixture of sun-dried salt and processed salt. There were 4 times of washing, 3 steps of washing after automatic washing, and 3 steps of washing after bubble washing as washing methods for the salted cabbages and ground water was used as the washing water. Also, three samples received HACCP certification. The salt contained in the purchased salted cabbages ranged from 0.5% to 2.0%, representing low salted cabbages. The pH of the purchased salted cabbages ranged from 5.32 to 6.47, and hardness ranged from 1,997g to 3,665g. Rewashing was necessary before using some salted cabbages due to foreign materials such as insects, soil, etc. Total bacterial counts of the purchased salted cabbages ranged from 3.36 log to 6.06 log and coliform bacteria ranged from below 1 log to 6.05 log, whereas other pathogens were not detected.

The Actinomyces species are normal flora of oral cavity and upper intestine characterized as gram-positive, non-spore-forming anaerobic or mjcroaerophilic rods. Actinomycosis is a chronic suppurative and granulomatous disease characterized by abscess, sinus, abundant granulation and mass. The appendix is the commonly involved site among abdominal actinomycosis. Abdominal actinomycosis is often difficult to diagnose before operation because of no reliable clinical features and infrequency of the disease. We report two cases of abdominal actinomycosis which were manifested as acute appendicitis. Those were detected Incidentally tv the pathologist after routine appendectomy. Both patients were successfully treated with appendectomy followed by proper antibiotics use.
