Dong-A University Department of Health Care, Handong University Sunlin Presbyterian Hotpital1) Department of Occupational Medicine, College of Medicine, Dong-A University2) 0bjectives : This study was performed to determine the reference values of blood lead, manganese, aluminium, and silicon in healthy adults. Methods : The subjects were 132 (67 male and 65 female), and classified to three age groups (≤39,40∼49, and 50≤). Hood lead, manganese and aluminium were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer, and blood silicon was analyzed by direct current plasma optical omission spectrometer. Results : Blood lead levels(geometric mean, S.D) were (3.49, 1.70) ㎍/dL in male auld (3.04, 1.65) ㎍/dL in female, but the difference is not significant, and there was no significant difference between age groups. Mean blood manganese level was 0.99±0.41㎍/dL, and there was no significant difference between sex or age groups. Mean blood aluminium level was 0.59±0.35㎍/dL and there was no significant difference between sex or age groups. Mean blood silicon level was 54.41±27.64㎍/dL in male and 43.34±23.51㎍/dL in female, and the level in male was significantly higher than that in female (p〈0.05). There was significant difference between age groups, and the oldest showed the highest level in male (p〈0.05), but no significant difference between age groups in female. Conclusions : Authors hope that this study would provide basic data for determininig reference values and evaluating health effects.

        The thermal decomposition process of Mo(CO)_6 on chemical vapor deposition was investigated by analyzing the effects of deposition temperature, pressure, and reaction gas on the phase change of deposited films. Mo_2C was deposited at or below 350℃ due to the incompleteness of thermal decomposition of Mo(CO)_6, but Mo films was successfully deposited at 400℃ or higher temperatures. The variation of deposition pressure did not change the dependence of decomposition process on deposition temperature. The activation energy of surface reaction was 5.8 ㎉/mole.

      • 151종 생약제 추출물이 B형 간염 바이러스 표면 항원(HBsAg)과 항체(HBsAb)의 결합반응 그리고 HBV DNA polymerase 활성에 미치는 효과 : 한국산 각종 생약제를 이용한 B형 간염치료제의 개발

        세계인구 43억명 중 B형 간염 바이러스 보균자는 2억 1천 5백만명이며 이중 78%인 1억 6천만명 이상이 아시아 대륙에 집중되어 있다. 한국도 B형 바이러스 간염의 침윤지대이다. 본 연구는 B형 바이러스 보균자 혹은 만성간염을 치료할 수 있는 생약제를 탐색할 목적의 일환으로 한국에서 시판하는 생약제 151종을 구입하여 증류수로 추출하고 여과한 후 냉동건조하여 HBs 항원에 대한 결합능, HBV DNA polymerase억제능, tumor necrosis factor(TNF) 유리에 미치는 영향, 그리고 galactosamine 유발 간염에 대한간장보호 작용을 조사하였다. 151종의 생약제중 0.16㎍/㎖ 농도에서 간염 vaccine 내에 함유된 HBs 항원과 결합하는 생약제는 지유, 가자, 복분자, 대황, 정향, 빈량, 산수유, 소목, 마황, 쇄양, 후박, 목과, 양강, 오약, 산사, 목단피 등 16종이었다. 이들 생약제중 대황(Rheum palmatum L. 大黃), 가자(Terminalia chebula R. 訶子), 지유(Sanguisorba officinalis L. 地楡), 복분자(Rubus coreanus M. 覆盆子)는 HBV DNA polymerase 활성도를 비교적 강하게 억제하였으며 빈량(Areca catechu L. 빈랑), 정향(Eugenia caryophyllata T. 丁香), 목과(Chaenomeles japonica L. 木瓜), 산수유(Cornus officinalis S. 山茱萸)는 약하게나마 HBV DNA polymerase 활성을 억제하였다. 또한 HBV DNA polymerase를 억제한 대황, 가자, 지유, 복분자, 빈량, 정향, 마황, 소목, 산수유를 대상으로 TNF 유리에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과 소목을 제외한 8종의 생약제 모두가 대식세포를 자극하여 TNF를 유리시켰다. 그리고 장차 임상에 사용함을 전제로 HBV DNA polymerase를 억제한 대황, 가자, 지유, 복분자, 빈량, 정향, 마황, 소목, 산수유를 galactosamine 유발 간염(백서)에 투여하여 간기능 검사에 미치는 효과를 조사하였으나 간기능 검사상으로는 특별한 보호작용을 나타내지 못하였으며 생약제 단독 투여로서는 간기능에 대하여 나쁜 영향을 주지 않았다. Hepatitis B virus infection is major cause of acute and chrome hepatitis, cirrhosis of liver, and hepatocellular carcinoma. There are over 200 million carriers of hepatitis B virus in the world, nearly 80 % of whom live in the South East Asia, Korea is also highly endemic area of hepatitis B virus infection. This study was performed to evaluate the effect of extracts of traditional Korean herbal medicines on hepatitis B virus. 151 traditional herbs were extracted, filtered and lyophilized. Using 151 herbal extracts we tested binding capability to the HBs Ag, inhibition of HBV DNA polymerase, release of tumor necrosis factor (TNF), and protection against galactosamine induced liver damage. Among 151 herbs, 16 herbs (Sanguisorba officinalis L., Terminalia chebula R., rubus coreanus M., Rheum palmatum L., Eugenia caryophyllata T., Areca catechu L., Cornus officinalis S., Caesalpinia sappan L, Ephedra sinica S., Cynomorium songaricum R., Machilus thunbergii S., Chaenomeles japonica L., Alpinia officinarum H., Lindera strychnifolia V., Crataegus pinnatifida B., Paeonia suffruticasa A. ) had binding capability to HBs Ag which contained in the commercial hepatitis vaccine, at 16 ug/㎖ of concentratioa Among the above 16 herbs, Rheum palmatum L., Terminalia chebula R., Sanguisorba officinalis L., Rubus coreanus M. significantly inhibited the HBV DNA polymerase activity, and Areca catechu L., Eugenia caryophyllata T., Ephedra sinica S., Caesalpinia sappan L., Chaenomeles Japonica L., Cornus officinalis S. also inibited the HBV DNA polymerase activity but less effective. All of the herbs, except Caesalpinia sappan L., which inhibited the HBV DNA polymerase activity, actively stimulated the mononuclear cells to release tumor necrosis factor(TNF) in whole blood culture system. The herbs which inhibited the HBV DNA polymerase activity, did not show any protective effect in galactosamine-induced hepatitis in rats, but there was no direct toxic effect when herbs were administered alone.

      • 일측성 질폐쇄 및 동측 신장 무발생을 동반한 중복자궁 2예

        Uterus didelphys with unilateral obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis usually presents after menarch with progressive abdominal pain during menses secondary to hematocolpos, and indeed a very rare congenital anomaly due to Mullerian duct malformation. An accurate and prompt diagnosis is of importance to permit treatment and to assure the future fertility of the patient. Pelvic ultrasound, physical examination and pelvic MRI established a diagnosis of hematometracolpos secondary to uterus didelphys with unilateral imperforate hemivagina. An incision in the vaginal septum allowed drainage of the hematocolpos, providing relief of the patients symptoms. We report two case of uterus didelphys with obstructed hemivagina with brief review of the literature.

      • 비행시험을 통한 엔진의 실린더 헤드와 배기가스 온도측정

        항공기의 운용에서 엔진의 성능 및 운용범위의 설정은 매우 중요한 사랑이다. 엔진의 기본적인 성능은 제작사에서 제시하지만, 항공기에 장착되어 나타나는 엔진의 운용범위는 비행시험을 통해서만 결정딜 수 있다. 따라서, 운용조건의 설정을 위한 일부로서, 엔진의 실린더 헤드 및 배기가스의 온도를 측정하였다. 이들 온도는 고도 및 출력조건이 미리 정해졌을 때, 혼합비 레버의 변화에 따른 온도를 측정하였고, 이러한 오로 부터, 경제출력과 최대 출력이 나타나는 혼합비 조건을 찾았으며, 정상적인 엔진의 운용을 위한 혼합비 조건을 결정하였다. 본 연구에 이용된 항공기는 창공-91이며, 대상엔진은 Textron-Lycoming사의 IO-360-A계열의 200마력 4기통 피스톤 엔진이다. It is very important ot determine the performance and operation envelope of engine for aircraft's flight. The basic performance is provided by manufacturer, but installed engine's operation envelop is only determined by flight test. First, this paper was measured cylinder head temperature(CHT) and exhaust gas temperature(EGT). At pre-determined altitude and power rate, these temperatures were measured by change of mixture ratio and mixture ratio condiotn for economic operation and max. power were found. Normal operation condition for engine was also found with mixture ratio. Chang-91 and Lycoming IO-360-A series four cylinders engine with 200 hp was used for this paper.

      • Chlorophyll-金屬錯體에 의한 廢水中의 重金屬 除去

        The objective of this study is to get fundamental data of the possiblity of heavy metal removal by Chlorophy which is extracted from plants and the development of dried leaf powder as a adsorbent agent of heavy metals, and the adsorption removal of heavy metals by the aquatic plants. The conclusions obtained in this study were as follows. (1) Leaves of green plant in the suburban mountain contained 13.00~30.00 ㎎/l of Copper Cu(Ⅱ), but Cadmium and Lead were not detected. (2) The maximum removal efficiency by the chlorophyll of Cd , Cu , and Pb was occurred at pH 8.0~8.5(44.00~68.40%), pH 6.0~8.5(69.52~97.82%) and pH 7.0~8.5(84.60~99.80%) respectively and The Net Removal Efficiencies of wiout hydroxide-precipitation effect of Cd , Cu , Pb were 36.20% (pH=8.5), 63.61% (pH=7.5), 50.60% (pH=6.0) respectively. (3) In the experiments about the effect of metal/chlorophyll concentration ratio on the RE , RE of CD was 51.60~88.40% when Cadmium/chlorophyll ratio (Cd[㎎/l]/chlorophyll[㎎/l]) was 0.10~0.50, and the maximum RE of Cd was obtained at optimum ratio, 0.16, RE of Cu was 94.36%~96.88% when Cu/chlorophyll ratio was 0.16~1.0 and optimum ratio was 1.0, and not less than 95% of Pb was removed at the same ratio range with Cu , and optimum ratio of Pb was 0.5. (4) In the experiments about the effect of pH on the heavy metal RE of dry-leaf powder under the pH 2.0~13.0, the maximum Re of Cd , Cu Pb were 59.26% (pH=8.5), 55.60% (pH=8.5), and 96.12% (pH=8.0) respectively. (5) In the experiments about the effect of dry leaf powder on the RE of heavy metals, under the natual water condition of pH 7.0, 57.74% of Cd and 13.00~23.60% of Cu and 82.50~89.56% of Pb were removed when 0.5~6.0 gm of dry leaf powder were added.

        전기로 분진에서 납의 휘발반응에 대한 속도론적 연구

        "he removal of lead from electric arc furnace (EAF) dust is important in the process for recovering zinc by a reduction-volatilization method. In this study, experiments on kinetics of the volatilization reaction of lead by chlorine components as NaCl and KCl contained in the EAF dust were carried out in the temperature range of 973 to 1223 K under an air atmosphere using a weight-loss technique. As a result, the volatilization ratio of lead was about 99.0% at the temperature of 1223 K and the reaction time of 180 min. Jander equation was found to fit well the volatilization reaction rate over the entire temperature range. The volatilization reaction of lead is rate controlled by solid-solid diffusion. An activation energy of 175 kJ/mol(41.8 kcal/mol) was obtained. (Received January 8, 2004)
