Long-term outcomes of single-port laparoscopic myomectomy using a modified suture technique

Objective To evaluate the long-term outcomes, including the pregnancy outcome and recurrence rate after single-port laparoscopic myomectomy (LM) using a modified suture technique with a Hem-o-lok clip (Choi’s LM) and conventional 4-port LM. Methods A retrospective study of patients who underwent Choi’s LM (n=55) and 4-port LM (n=102) in a single institutional hospital was conducted. Patients with <3 symptomatic myomas sized <10 cm each and operated on by a single surgeon were included. Recurrence was confirmed when a myoma measuring ≥3 cm was detected. Results The patients in both groups had similar demographic characteristics. Single (76.4% vs. 62.7%) and intramural (52.7% vs. 56.9%) tumors were commonly detected in both groups in the mean diameter (6.8±1.5 cm vs. 7.0±1.6 cm; P=0.40). In Choi’s LM, 16 patients (29.1%) needed an additional port; those who were nulliparous and/or had a large leiomyoma more frequently required an additional port (P=0.023 and 0.04, respectively). During a median follow-up period of 69 months, 17 patients (7.1% vs. 14.6%) had recurrence. The size of dominant myomas at recurrence was significantly smaller in patients who underwent Choi’s LM (3.4±0.7 cm vs. 5.7±2.4 cm; P=0.004). All 13 patients in both groups who successfully conceived had a full-term delivery. No major complications occurred during pregnancy. Conclusion Although an additional port was frequently used, the long-term outcomes of patients who experienced recurrence and pregnancy after Choi’s LM were acceptable. Considering its usability, Choi’s LM is feasible for the treatment of uterine leiomyoma.

In this paper we designed the content-based image system. It discovers the characteristic value of color area for the existing image, when any user establishes the special interesting region for the question images. And we designed the system to be able to search the similar image of the interesting region, compared with the table that saved the characteristic value of moment which is unchangeable for the size and the rotation of from. In this paper, we suggest th image search model based on neural network. This is able to seek for the aimed image through the feedback to search the nonlinear relations by th method of searching content-based image using SOM neural network. We make use of the Precision and the recall that are used for the system evaluation using the similar matching method in general. As a result of the evaluation of the content-based image system, we can reduce the time and memory to find out the feature value of the image that is meaningless in the general images.

The semiconductor gas sensors with a tin oxide as the raw material have been generally used to detect gases in the principle of electrical conductivity variation. However, it was difficult to design the gas detection system due to the non-selectivity, the non-stability and the influence of temperature, humidity etc. Therefore, it was proposed NDIR(non-dispersive infrared) method using pyroelectric infrared sensor to overcome the disadvantage of the semiconductor gas sensors. This method has been recently used to detect various gases in industrial parts. It has the advantages of selectivity, stability and responsibility. The gases used in this paper were CO_(2)(carbon dioxide) and HC(hydrocarbon) series. The system was designed with the Intel MCU i8097BH microprocessor. Main topics were to remove interference effect for other gases and to minimize influence for ambient circumstance by using the software and the hardware techniques.

가시오가피의 부위별 물 추출물이 흰쥐의 혈관이완반응에 미치는 영향

In this study we have examined the actions of water extract of Eleutherococus senticosus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Maxim. (ESH), Stem, Root bark (RB) and Root xylem (RX) in isolated thoracic and abdominal aorta assay. To compare the vasodilation effect, put. ESH, Stem, RB and RX into them which vessels were precontracted by 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT). We found out the thoracic aorta segments were responded to ESH with a dose-dependent vasodilation. The 5-HT induced contraction at 10-4M were relaxed after addition of the 2.0 ㎎/㎖ ESH as 32.1% (Stem), 34.9% (RX) and 87.2% (RB). The 5-HT induced vasocontraction at 10^-4M were vasodilated such as 87.2% in thoracic aorta and 89.0% in abdominal aorta with 2.0㎎/㎖ ESH. Addition of 2.0㎎/㎖ ESH in thoracic aorta which was precontracted by the 5-HT at 10-4M were come out differently 0% (water fraction), 53.8% (butanol fraction) and 96.6% (ethyl acetate fraction). The 5-HT induced contraction at 10-4M with and without endothelium were inhibited by 87.2% and 87.8% after addition of the ESH (2.0 ㎎/㎖). In conclusion, ESH-induced relaxation in the isolated rat thoracic aorta and abdominal aorta were come out be dose-dependent relaxation, and ESH's ethyl acetate fraction was showed the potent vasodilation effect.

High quality diamond films of the silicon on diamond (SOD) structure are deposited using CH₄ and H₂ gas mixture in microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (CVD), a SOD structure is fabricated using low pressure CVD polysilicon of diamond/Si(100) substrate. The crystalline structure of the diamond films which composed of {111} and {100} planes, were changed from octahedral one to cubo-octahedron one as the CH₄ ratios are increased. The high quality diamond films without amorphous carbon and non-diamond elements were deposited at the CH₄ flow rate ratio of 1.5%, and the main phase of the diamond films shows (111) plane. The poly-Si/Diamond /SiC/Si(100) structure shows that the interface is flat without voids.
