Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1997. 99 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 45(45.5%) were PPNG. Conclusion : The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 45.5% in 1997.

Colloidal gold nanoparticles might be of use as nano scale delivery systems of various therapeutic materials in the firture. Recent studies have reported the feasibility of colloidal gold nanoparticles as gene delivery systems or protein delivery systems. In this study, we aimed to develop a short-step method useful for screening the optimal coating conditions of colloidal gold nanoparticles with proteins. We observed that colloidal gold nanoparticles have properties of changing its unique color when they were exposed to NaCl solution. Taking advantage of the color changing properties of colloidal gold nano-particles, we applied the color testing method of colloidal gold nanoparticles solutions for evaluating the protein coating nature. Using bovine senim albumin as a model protein, we tested the protein coating of colloidal gold nanoparticles via the color change upon NaCl addition. The optimal coating concentration and coating conditions of colloidal gold nanoparticles with bovine serum albumin were fixed using the color testing methods. We suggest that the color testing method might be applied to optimize the coating condition of colloidal gold nanoparticles with other therapeutic proteins.

다중경로 환경에서 시공간 빔포머를 이용한 시스템의 채널 파라미터 부정합에 대한 성능 평가

As a channel of a DS-CDMA system is shared among several users, the receivers face the problem of MAI. Also the bandlimited channel leads to ISI. Both components are undesired, but unlike the additive noise process, which is usually completely unpredictable, their space-time structure helps to estimate and remove them. This paper investigates a DS-CDMA system with a fading multipath channel. The investigations have been separated into a channel estimation part and a reception part. In the estimation part of separated two parts, the multipath parameters such as DOA and TOA are evaluated in this paper. In the part of receiver, we used these parameters and tested the performance of this receiver about space-time beamforrners(Decorrelating, Match-Filter, Wiener-Hopf, Subspace-Based). To assess many different estimation techniques and beamformers, the simulation compared with theoretical values is performed.

ICP(Inductively Coupled Plasma) 처리에 따른 n-type SiGe/Metal contact의 SBH(Schottky Barrier Height) 연구

The effect of surface treatment of n-type SiGe using the inductively coupled plasma (ICP) was studied by current-voltage and x-ray photoemission spectroscopy measurements. The ICP treatment produced surface oxides and point defects at the surface of SiGe. The x-ray photoemission spectroscopy measurements showed that atomic ratio of Ge/Si was increased after the etching treatment. These results provide the evidence that Si vacancies were produced at the etched surface. Si vacancies acting as donor for electrons resulted in shift of Fermi level to near the conduction band. As a result, Fermi level could be pinned at such Si vacancies, leading to the remarkable reduction of Schottky barrier height and the reduced dependence of Schottky barrier height on metal work function. La presente etude se propose d'analyser la technique narrative dans les romans de Celine. Il modifie les rapports classiques entre l'auteur et le narrateur, le narrateur et le lecteur. D'abord, la fusion de Celine et ses personnages, la disparition de l'auteur au profit du narrateur provoquent au recit une plus grande neurtralite, au sens etymologique du terme, le 'je' n'est ni l'un ni l'autre. Il en resulte que l'auteur peut etre plus present lui-meme dans le texte, a la fois dans le passe de ses avantures et dans le present de sa narration. Dans les innovation des rapports entre l'auteur et narrateur, Celine elargit la sphere d'activite du narrateur. S'ecartant de la mode narrative traditionnelle, la de narrateur, ches Celine, tient a la complexite dansla mesure ou il n'est pas une personnage 'monophonique', mais le dispositaire de tous les discours. Dans les romans de Celine, les 'vous', du narrataire, sorte de lecture ideale, se trouvent presque aussi nombreux que les 'je' du narrateur. Si l'une des principales fonctions narratives, chez Celine, est de constamment 'chercher' le lecteur, c'est le narrataire qui est la contribution ce travail. L'engagement implique par ces 'vous' interpellent le leteur en tant qu'homme en generale et en tant que destinataire du recit. Parces procedes, Celine impose son projet litteraire a l'attention du lecteur, leur subjectivite etant masquee par le 'nous'.

미스 반데어 로헤(Ludwig Mies vander Rohe, 1886-1969년)의 구축적 특성에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to investigate the career of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe(1886-1969) as a constant struggle between three divergent factors: the technological capacity of the epoch, the aesthetics of avant-gardism, and the tectonic legacy of classical romanticism. Mies effort to resolve these vectors is reading in itself, since it enlightens us as to the nature of the avant-garde and indicate the relative incompatibility of abstract space and tectonic form. The sublime for Mies resided in the quality of the material itself and in the revelation of its essence through careful detailing. Aside from this, the contrasting qualities of different materials become the terms of a binary position in Mies work, comparable to the distinction that semper drew between stereotomic mass and skeletonal, tectonic form. His concern for the precision of tectonic form is always tempered, not only by the infinite space field of the avant-garde and the dematerialized membrane but also by the even-changing forces of technology and time. Within this parameters, the art of building for Mies means the embodiment of the spirit in the banality of the real; the spiritualization of technique through tectonic form.

우리나라 아파트團地의 問題點 分析 및 造景設計基準에 關한 硏究

It has been 22 years since the first apartment was built in Korea. Recently more and more apartments have been being introduced to Korean people and has been changing traditional Korean life style. Residents of apartment complexes in Korea suffer from various problems such as sisregarding of traditional Korean exterior space, pathology, improper community facilities and green spaces, destruction of natural environment, and lack of diversity and chracter in buildings and outdoor spaces. Historically the techniques of residential site design have been developed through three evolutionary steps. The first step was the Garden City idea of Ebenezer Howard in England(1898). In his conceptual plan he located Grand Avenue in the center of residential site. However, the green space was divided by road from residential site. The second step was the Sunnyside Gardens in New York(1924). The city Housing corporation of New York City built apartments with new concept which contained large common green spaces within a block surrounded by apartment buildings. This was possible because the lot subdivision no longer existed. The third step was the Radburn Plan(1929) in New Jersey. This was the second project of the City Housing Corporation. This plan invented two important concepts in residential site design. The one is super block concept which does not permit vehicle road within a large block. The other one is culs-de-sac road of which has a dead end on the one end. These two concepts contribute to making internal common green space without car traffic. With this concept the housing was ideally interwoven with green spaces. The Radburn Plan was the beginning of cluster development in residential site and innovation for moter age. At present, after 50 years from Radburn Plan, the basis concept of it is still valid and useful in residential site design. However, we need to make another evolutionary step for the better quality of living. The situations in Korea are different from those in western countries. Apartment is one of the western-origin housing types. Koreans have to modify western-oriented apartment buildings and site plans for cultural adaptation. Furthermore, we have to create new concepts for the better quality of living. Followings are the propositions for site design of apartment complex in Korea. 1. Cultural Aspect-One of the traditional characters of Korean exterior space os intermediate space between interior and exterior space. In order to provide intermediate space, sequence planning and gradual change of space atmosphere in outdoor space design is needed. 2. Social Aspect-We have to consider life cycle of residents, provide various community activities, increase natural elements, and decrease pathologh in apartment complex. 3. Functional Aspect-Pedestrian was should be separated from vehicle way in any case. Pedestrian way system can be benefited from combining with green space system. Green spaces should have systematic link instead of dispersed disposition without connection. The land use pattern should also have systematic and functional relationship. 4. Ecological Aspect-Dynamic equlibrium in eco-system should be preserved or modified with minimum change during and after development. The elements in inventory should be checked are land slide, erosion, surface and ground water, vegetation, wildlife, micro climate, etc. 5. Perceptional Aspect-Apartment complex should be considered as a group form as well as individual form of buildings. It is recommendable to divide outdoor spaces into human scale and to give diversity to each space and building instead of uniform treatment.

In the nuclear Test Case (1974), International Court Justice has recognized the binding effect of French declaration, unilateral in form, based on the fact that it was "given publicly, and with an intent to be bound". In 1947, the military tribunal in Nurmberg cited Hitler's pronouncement that Germany would respect the territorial integrity of Austria and Czechoslovakia as the ground for the indictment. Even earlier, Permanent Court of International Justice recognized the validity of Norwegian Foreign Minister's oral statement, unilateral in character, as a ground for the decision in the Eastern Greenland Case(1932). In international relations, it is not infrequent that governments issue unilateral proclamations or make offers and declarations toward international community in general or toward a specific state in particular. The Egyptian declaration of 1957 regarding its intention pertaining to the operation of the newly nationalized Suez Canal is an example of the former, and the "recognition" of particular state or government is an example of the latter. In examining the legal validity of unilateral or pronouncements, it appears that, in order for a declaration so made unilaterally to have the binding force, it must meet, at minimum, several conditions: (1) that the declaration is made by an entity or authority which, under international law, possesses legal capacity to enter into foreign relations, (2) that the declaration so made is made "publicly", as an expression embodying intent to be bound, and (3) that the target state or entity has utilized the declaration in basing its rights or obligations(explicit or implicit) regarding the respective subject matter. However, inasmuch as the as the declarant state cannot be prevented from withdrawing from the commitment so made unilaterally, it does not follow that declarations made unilaterally are nominally binding. But the fulfillment of the conditions, above stated, would substantially strengthen the case for its "contractual" character.
