        飮酒步行者의 車事故損傷

        The injuries in motor vehicle accidents are characteristic according to victims such as driver, passenger and pedestrians. Also it should be considers whether suicide, homicide or accident. In accordance with such decisions, the criminal and civil problems of motor vehicle accident will be solved. The recognition and careful evaluation of wounds permit reconstruction of accident with a degree of accuracy, the doctor have to familiar with the characteristics and mechanisms of injuries. The author described generally about pedestrian injuries and particularly about drunken victims through author's experiences and referred to literatures.

        치과용 도재분말의 제조 및 물리적 성질

        In this study, the prepared glasses were heat-treated to precipitate the leucite crystal in order to control the thermal expansion coefficient which is an important property of dental porcelain powder. The effect of addition of Li₂O and Na₂O on the amount of the precipitated leucite crystal were also examined. The mixing ratio of the leucite-containing glass must be controlled to match the thermal expansion coefficient of dental porcelain to that of metal. The physical properties of the dental porcelain powder prepared in this study were characterized. The results of this study were obtained as follows : 1. Conditions for the preparation of the maximum amount of leuctie crystal were compostion L-2(2.0 wt% Li₂O added) heat-treated at 950℃. 2. The phase of the precipitated crystals was turned out to be the tetragonal leucite crystal. 3. Maximum relative crystallinity was 64.2% for composition L-2, heat-treated at 950℃. Its linear thermal expansion coefficient was 16.1×10-6/℃ in the range of room temperature to 500℃. 4. The optimum mixing ratio of the leucite-containing glass was 45% in order to match the thermal expansion coefficient of dental porcelain to that of metal. In this case, the thermal expansion coefficient of the prepared dental porcelain was 10.6×10-6/℃ (∼500℃). 5. The physical and chemical properties of the prepared dental porcelain were suitable for the requirements of ISO 6872 and 9693.

        Locoregional recurrence is the most common type of recurrence in surgical operation of gastric adenocarcinoma, and peritoneal dissemination is one of the most difficult problems in advanced gastric adenocarcinoma treatment. Because the peritoneal cavity is the most common site of the first recurrence after gastric cancer resection, intraperitoneal chemotherapy seems a logical choice for cancer chemotherapy. In this study, Mitomycin C (MMC)-activated charcoal (CH)-alginate (ALG) beads were prepared by the mixtures of CH particles adsorbed with MMC as an anti-cancer drug and aqueous alginate solution. The alginate is recognized as biodegradable, nontoxic, and biocompatible. The release of MMC from the beads in 0.1 M Tris buffer was stable and continuous until about 1 week. The MMC-CH-ALG beads can be applied in the peritoneal cavity for intraperitoneal chemotherapy since they provide a good adhesiveness on the tissue and controlled release pattern of the drugs.

      • 유산양 유방염에 대한 Chitosan 약침의 치료 효과

        To improve the therapeutic method for mastitis, treatment effect of chitosan pharmacopuncture was examined in three milking goats(A,B and C). Mastitis was artificially induced in two milking goats(A and B) and one goat(C) was naturally infected case with mastitis. The acupoint used was Yang-Ming and chitosan suspensions(provided from Tottory University, Japan: 30㎎ of chitosan/㎖)were injected to the acupoint with 5㎖/time for 3 days, respectively. As for the change of somatic cells in milk along with chitosan pharmacopuncture, they showed a decreasing tendency after increase on the 3rd day in all udders of B. In addition, as for the change of total leukocyte counts of peripheral blood with chitosan pharmacopuncture, they showed a decreasing tendency after increase on the 3rd day in B and C except A which showed a increasing tendency until on the 7th day. In the change of neutrophil/lymphocyte(N/L) ratio, increasing tendency was seen in A and C but increasing tendency after slight decrease was observed in B. Further, in the change of serum total protein and A/G ratio, serum total protein content was decreased after slightly increase on the 3rd day in A, and they were decreased after increase until on the 7th day in B and C, respectively. As for the change of A/G ratio, different pattern increasing tendency was shown in A, B and C.

        충청북도 쌀농가의 벤치마킹을 위한 경영진단표 개발

        A new set of benchmarking lists for Korean rice farm is constructed in the following way. First, a set of benchmarking lists is made by a panel of specialists. The panel decides the research items and the scoring method of the lists. Second, a survey on rice farms are made with the lists. Third, by regression analyses based on the data from the survey, insignificant items are dropped out of the lists and the remaining significant items are given new weights.

        In this paper, we implemented the hangeul tactile recognition system for the Blind. The system is consist of hardware part and software part.The hardware part is consist of a scanner interface image processing system, a electro tactile output device inter and auser interface. The software system consist of pattern learning routine,image processing and character pattern output routine, file management and operation window routine. The 16 by 16 of return electrode is driven by a electro-tacttile device. The recognition experimention distinguished learning beforefrom learning after,after learning the recognition rate is higher than learning before. As a results of experimentation before and after learning,the later is superior to the former. Therefore,if learning is increased, we can take higher recognition rate.

        Recently, as the alternatives to preserve environment such as effective usage of wastes or unusable resources are drawing attentions, researches and measures for the two tasks, which are reuse of waste wood and development of eco friendly materials, are being examined and established in various fields. However, they are still insufficient. Therefore, in this study, for the efficient application of waste woods and eco-friendly effects, mortar was produced using sawdust as the waste wood and mineral material cement for combination, in order to produce inorganic boards using waste woods, which were made when sawing. This study attempted to suggest a basic material about the physical properties of mortar, which used waste woods, after examining the features of wood mixture rate, water-cement rate, congelation according to the mixture rate of the setting accelerator, specific gravity, compression intensity, and bending intensity as experiment factors.

        Shigella flexneri에 의한 집단발병의 역학적 양상

        배경 : 국내에서 Shigella flexneri에 의한 감염으로 인한 집단발병은 2000년도에 국립보건원에 집단발병례가 보고된 이후 보고되지 않았으나 최근 저자 등은 S. flexneri에 의한 대규모 집단발병을 경험하여 역학적인 양상을 기술하였다. 방법 : OO회사의 직원 및 구내식당을 이용한 사람 및 가족들을 대상으로 증상여부 및 2002년 12월 23일 이후 식당이용 여부와 취식음식에 대하여 설문조사를 실시하였으며 검체를 확보하여 미생물학적 검사를 실시하였다. 결과 : 조사대상 총 258명 중 총 110명에서 증상이 발생하였으며 증상발생일의 분포는 단일정점을 보였다. 확진자는 82명으로 이중 81명은 OO의 식당을 이용한 사람이었고 1명은 식당에서 직접 조리과정에 참여한 사람이었다. 식사여부와 증상여부의 관계를 분석한 결과 특히 24일의 취식여부의 상대위험도가 가장 높았다(RR=6.46, 3.56≤95% CI≤11.75). 항균제 내성 양상은 ampicillin 내성균주가 82균주(100.0%) ampicillin-sulbactam 내성균주가 55균주(67.1%), amoxicillin-clavulanic acid에 대한 내성균주가 62균주(74.4%), trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole 내성균주가 82균주로 나타났다(98.8%). 분리된 균주간의 연관성을 보기 위하여 실시한 PFGE 결과 본 집단발병에서 확인된 균주는 동일한 양상을 보였으나 비슷한 시기에 분리된 균주와는 서로 다른 양상을 보였다. 결론 : 본 집단발병은 국내에서 발생한 S. flexneri에 의한 집단발병 중 가장 대규모 집단발병이었다. 본 집단발병에서 확인된 균주간의 PFGE양상이 동일하였으나 기존에 국내에서 분리된 균주의 PFGE양상과는 다른 양상을 보였다. 따라서 이러한 상황을 감안한다면 S. flexneri 및 설사환자에 대한 감시체계를 강화해야 할 것이다. Background : Most of the shigellosis outbreak in Korea was caused by Shigella sonnei since late 1990's. In contrast, outbreak by Shigella flexneri were rare since late 1990's. Currently. we experienced the shigellosis outbreak by S. flexneri and described the results of investigation. Methods : We recruited employees from company "A" who had a meal at least once at the company's cafeteria from Dec 23th, 2002 to Dec 26th, 2002. We surveyed the symptoms, food items, and history of travel of eligible persons and their family members. For the microbiological examination, we collected specimen from eligible persons and their family. Collected specimens were cultured for bacteriologic agents and viruses. Epidemiological relationship among the isolates were analyzed by pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Results : Among the eligible persons, one hundred ten were symptomatic (110/258, 42,6%). Eighty-two were confirmed bacteriologically. Day of symptom onset showed a unipolar pattern. Diarrhea was the most common symptom among the symptomatic patients (110/110, 100%). The other symptoms included abdominal pain (81.8%), tenesmus (70.0%), headache (63.6%), nausea (61.8%), febrile sense (59.1%), and vomiting (24.5%). Lunch on 24th Dec was the most significant risk factor of the outbreak (RR=6.46, 3.56≤95% Cl≤11.75). All isolates of the outbreak has the same pattern on PFGE analysis and the PFGE pattern was not similar compared with other S. flexneri isolates from Korea. Conclusion : This is the largest and unique outbreak by S.flexneri since 2000 in Korea. The outbreak has the same origin according to the PFGE pattern and epidemic characteristics. Considering rarity of S.flexneri among shigellosis in Korea, surveillance for S.flexneri should be enhanced.

        인천 인현동 호프집 화재 피해자 분석

        Purpose : This study was conducted to develop field triage, transportation, distribution, and prehospital care at a fire disaster by analyzing the victims of the fore that broke out at a bar in Incheon. Method : We analyzed the cases of the victims of a fire in Incheon in Oct. 1999. We determined the primary care hospital, the arrival time, the burn size, the outcome, and the injury type from the medical records, the concerned organ records, and interviews with concerned persons. Result : The total number of victims was 137: 56 prehospital deaths, 1 hospital death, and 80 survivals. The Pearson correlation coefficient between the burn size and the severity was -0.175. There were 121(89.6%) cases of inhalation injury, 59 (43.7%) cases of flame burns, 66 (48.9%) cases of hypoxic brain damage, and 16 (11.9%) cases involving other types of injury. Conclusion : The causes of death of the fire victims were inhalation injury and hypoxic brain damage due to CO poisoning and other toxic inhalants. We propose the use of a simple triage and rapid treatment(START) system and a reassessment the delayed category in fire disasters.

        Non-iterative harmonic <i>B<sub>z</sub></i> algorithm in MREIT

        <P>The goal of magnetic resonance electrical impedance tomography (MREIT) is to produce a tomographic image of a conductivity distribution inside an electrically conducting object. Injecting current into the object, we measure a <I>z</I>-component <I>B<SUB>z</SUB></I> of an induced magnetic flux density using an MRI scanner. Based on the relation between the conductivity and measured <I>B<SUB>z</SUB></I> data, we may reconstruct cross-sectional images of the conductivity distribution. In a two-dimensional imaging slice, we can see that conductivity changes along equipotential lines are determined by the measured <I>B<SUB>z</SUB></I> data. Since the equipotential lines themselves depend nonlinearly on the unknown conductivity distribution, it is not possible to recover the conductivity distribution directly from measured <I>B<SUB>z</SUB></I> data. Conductivity image reconstruction algorithms such as the harmonic <I>B<SUB>z</SUB></I> algorithm utilize an iterative procedure to update conductivity values and in each iteration we need to solve an elliptic boundary value problem with a presumed conductivity distribution. This iteration is often troublesome in practice due to excessive amounts of noise in some local regions where weak MR signals are produced. This motivated us to develop a non-iterative reconstruction algorithm which does not depend on a global structure of the conductivity distribution. In this paper, we propose a new MREIT conductivity image reconstruction algorithm, called the non-iterative harmonic <I>B<SUB>z</SUB></I> algorithm, which provides a conductivity image directly from measured <I>B<SUB>z</SUB></I> data. From numerical simulations, we found that the new method produces absolute images of a conductivity distribution with a high accuracy by maximizing the use of reliable <I>B<SUB>z</SUB></I> data. It effectively reduces adverse effects of excessive noise in some local regions of weak MR signals by restricting the influences within them.</P>
