        An Attention-based Temporal Network for Parkinson's Disease Severity Rating using Gait Signals

        Parkinson's disease (PD) is a typical, chronic neurodegenerative disease involving the concentration of dopamine, which can disrupt motor activity and cause different degrees of gait disturbance relevant to PD severity in patients. As current clinical PD diagnosis is a complex, time-consuming, and challenging task that relays on physicians' subjective evaluation of visual observations, gait disturbance has been extensively explored to make automatic detection of PD diagnosis and severity rating and provides auxiliary information for physicians' decisions using gait data from various acquisition devices. Among them, wearable sensors have the advantage of flexibility since they do not limit the wearers' activity sphere in this application scenario. In this paper, an attention-based temporal network (ATN) is designed for the time series structure of gait data (vertical ground reaction force signals) from foot sensor systems, to learn the discriminative differences related to PD severity levels hidden in sequential data. The structure of the proposed method is illuminated by Transformer Network for its success in excavating temporal information, containing three modules: a preprocessing module to map intra-moment features, a feature extractor computing complicated gait characteristic of the whole signal sequence in the temporal dimension, and a classifier for the final decision-making about PD severity assessment. The experiment is conducted on the public dataset PDgait of VGRF signals to verify the proposed model's validity and show promising classification performance compared with several existing methods.

        Research on a fault diagnosis method of rolling bearings using variation mode decomposition and deep belief network

        The working conditions of rolling bearings during the running change in real time. Aiming at the problem of fault diagnosis of rolling bearing under complex working conditions, a new fault diagnosis (VHDBN) method based on variation mode decomposition (VMD), Hilbert transform (HT) and deep belief network (DBN) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the proposed fault diagnosis method performs the VMD decomposition for the time domain signal in order to obtain a series of intrinsic mode functions (IMFs), and Hilbert envelope spectrum is obtained by Hilbert transform. The Hilbert envelope spectrum is used to construct the feature matrix, which is used as an input of the DBN network in order to obtain a fault diagnosis model. In order to test and verify the effectiveness of the proposed fault diagnosis method, the experimental data of rolling bearings under variable load is used in here. The experimental results show that the VMD-Hilbert envelope spectrum can better reflect the fault characteristics than the time domain spectrum, and the proposed fault diagnosis method under variable load has higher recognition accuracy than other comparison methods.

        M-DOF dynamic model for load sharing behavior analysis of PGT

        A Multi-degree-of-freedom (M-DOF) nonlinear dynamic model for n-pinion Planetary gear train (PGT) is presented in this paper to investigate load sharing behavior of planet gears. In this dynamic model, manufacturing and assembly errors, elastic deformation and time-varying mesh stiffness are considered. Two sets of elastic compatibility equations are proposed to describe compatibility relationship between displacements, errors and elastic deformations. By means of Ishikawa formula, time-varying mesh stiffness of the gear pair is determined. The dynamic motion equations are solved with Runge-Kutta numerical integral method, which yields the displacements and deformations of each component. With the model, dynamic load sharing behavior of planet gears is evaluated. An example of 3-pinion PGT dynamic modeling is included, for which the influence of floating sun gear and adding flexible planet pin on the load sharing characteristics is analyzed.

      • Study on A Fault Diagnosis Method of Rolling Element Bearing Based on Improved ACO and SVM Model

        The vibration signal is nonstationary and it is difficult to acquire the sample with typical fault. An improved ACO algorithm based on adaptive control parameters is introduced into SVM model to propose a new fault diagnosis (IMASFD) method in this paper. In the IMASFD method, the EMD method is used to decompose fault vibration signal into IMF components, the energy of IMF components is selected to construct the fault feature vectors. Then the adaptive controlling pheromone strategy, adaptive controlling stochastic selection threshold strategy and dynamic evaporation rate strategy are used to improve the basic ACO algorithm. The improved ACO algorithm is used to optimize the parameters of SVM model in order to obtain the optimal values of parameter combination in the SVM model. And a new fault diagnosis (IMASFD) method is proposed. Finally, the proposed IMASFD method is applied to the test data from bearing data center of CWRU. The experimental results show that the proposed method can accurately and effectively realize high precision fault diagnosis of rolling bearing, and has strong robustness and generalization ability, provides an effective method for realizing fault diagnosis of rolling bearing.

        Modeling and Analyzing for Magnetic Field of Segmented Surface-Mounted PM Motors with Skewed Poles

        The skewed PM (permanent magnet) in the axial direction and the segmented PM in the circumferential direction, can reduce the cogging torque of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). In this paper, the magnetization expression, which can be applied to diff erent circumferential sectioning modes, is derived. The quasi-3D magnetic fi eld analytical model suitable for diff erent circumferential and axial segmentation modes is proposed. The magnetic fi eld, cogging torque, back-EMF, and electromagnetic torque are obtained by the proposed modeling. The accuracy of the analytical method is verifi ed by 3D fi nite-element analysis. Finally, the modeling is used to analyze the variation of electromagnetic performance with diff erent radial skew angle and axial segments. The proposed modeling can shorten the calculation time, and analyze the variation law of motor performance with PM segmentation and skew comprehensively. It provides a reference for the design and optimization of segmented PMSM with skewed poles and has great signifi cance for improving motor performance.

        부산 지하철 휴게 공간 리디자인에 대한 연구 - 대연역 생태 공간 개발 중심으로 -

        (연구배경 및 목적) 본 연구는 부산 대연역 지하철 휴게 공간 리디자인을 통해 향후 관련 디자인에 기초적인 자료로 삼기 위함이다. 또한 부산의 기타 지하철역에 적용함으로써 부산 전체의 쾌적한 도시 건설을 유도함으로 부산의 발전을 촉진하며, 도시주민의 편의성 및 삶의 질 향상을 도모하기 위함이다. 지하 공간 개선 목적은 지상 환경을 손상하지 않는 범위 내에서 공간개발을 합리적으로 제안하는 것에 있다. 이러한 제안은 시민편의 활용, 지면 및 도시 지하 환경 개발 가치가 있다. 도는 공공장소 시설 및 장소의 보존과 같은 이유에서 출발한다. (연구방법) 연구방법은 휴게공간의 연속성과 접근가능성을 중시하고, 도시디자인 요소 방면에서는 구역경제, 생활 방식, 생태기술 등의 요소 연구에 중심을 둔다. 이 연구에서는 자연채광 시스템, 벽면녹화시스템과 음이온환기시스템 등 기술 융합을 통해서 지하 휴게 공간 리디자인을 제안하고자 한다, 지하공간의 기본방향은 ①치유 기능 ② 녹색 에너지 제어 기능 ③ 실용 기능 크게 세 가지로 구분한다. 기대하는 결과는 도시 공공 공간 부족의 문제를 대한 도시환경 문제의 해결을 도모하는 것이다. (결과) 도시 공간형태구성과 시설구성 요소적인에 따라서 도시 지하 휴게 공간 개발을 이용 목적, 휴게공간에서의 개선점 등에 대한 설문조사에서 나온 응답자의 선호와 만족여부를 토대로 살펴보기로 한다. 현재 대연역부근에 거주하는 인원은 대부분 단독주택으로 인구밀도가 상대적으로 낮은 편이나, 교통이 편리한 지역이라 부경대학교, 경성대학교, 동명대학교 유학생 대학생 등 등 학생들의 주요 자취 지역으로 선호되어 높은 밀집이다. 하지만 밀집도에 비해 휴게공간이 많이 부족한 편이다. 이러한 휴게 공간 부족 문제의 해결책으로 등장한 것이 입체적인 도시공간계획이다. (결론) 대연역 지하철 지하 휴게 공간 리디자인(재개발)을 통해서 향후 관련 디자인에 기초적인 자료로 삼을 수 있고, 또한 부산의 기타 지하철역에 적용함으로써 부산 전체의 도시 건설을 제고하고 부산의 발전을 촉진하며, 도시주민의 편리성을 제고하고 삶의 질을 좋아지는 것이다. 이를 위해 공공 공간의 연속성과 접근가능성을 중시하고, 구역경계, 생활 방식, 생태기술 등의 도시디자인 요소에 관심을 가져야 한다. (Background and Purpose) This study aimed to redesign the rest space of Busan Daeyeon subway station as the basic data for future design. It attempted to make this research applicable to other subway stations in Busan, guide Busan to build a more comfortable city, promote its development, and improve the convenience and quality of life of city dwellers. To improve the underground space requires putting forward reasonable suggestions for the development of space without damaging the ground environment. These renovations are beneficial to improve the use of underground by citizens and the value of urban underground space development. The purpose of this research is to maximize the preservation of space and facilities in public places. (Method) We emphasized the continuity and accessibility of the space for rest and focused on the elements of regional economy, lifestyle, and ecological technology in urban design. In this research, we hoped to redesign the underground rest area through technology integration, such as natural lighting system, vertical greening of walls, and negative ion ventilation system. The basic direction of underground space design was divided into (1) the healing function; (2) Green energy control function; and (3) practical function. To seek solutions to urban environmental problems and the shortage of urban public space. (Result) According to the configuration of urban space and the composition of facilities, the possibility of improvement and development of urban underground leisure space will be studied based on the survey data of the functional needs and improvement points of the respondents. At present, most of the people living near Daeyeon station are students, and the population density is relatively high. However, due to the convenient transportation, it has become the preferred residence for international students and Korean students of Pukyong National University, Kyungsung University, and Tongmyong University. However, compared to the population density, the rest space is insufficient. To solve these problems, this research used three-dimensional urban space planning. (Conclusion) Through the redesign (redevelopment) of the underground rest area of Daeyeon subway station, this research can be used as the basic data for future design, and it can be applied to other subway stations in Busan, which will enhance the urban construction of the whole Busan and promote its development. Furthermore, it improves the convenience of urban residents and improves the quality of life. Therefore, we should emphasize the continuity and accessibility of public space, and pay attention to the design elements of urban space, regional boundaries, lifestyle, ecological technology, and other urban design elements.

        Dammarane-type saponins from heat-processed Gynostemma pentaphyllum show fortified activity against A549 cells

        An ethanol extract from heat-processedGynostemma pentaphyllum showed more potent cytotoxicactivity against human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cellsthan that of raw G. pentaphyllum. Four constituents wereisolated from heat-processed G. pentaphyllum using resinHP-20, silica gel and reversed ODS column chromatography. They were identified by mass and NMR spectra asdamulin A and damulin B, gypenoside L and gypenosideLI, respectively. To evaluate the efficacy of these fourconstituents, the MTT cytotoxicity assay was performedusing A549 cells. Based on the structure of these fourconstituents, the results indicate that the hydroxyl group inC-2 and double bond in C20(21) and C20(22) positions areof importance in inhibition of A549 cell proliferation.

        Comparative Metabolite Profiling and Hormone Analysis of Perennial and Annual Rice

        Perenniality is one of the important topics in rice breeding which is generally accompanied by complex physiobiochemical processes. To understand the metabolic characteristics of perennial rice, in the present study, gas chromatography–mass spectrometry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays were used to profile the distribution patterns of 33 primary metabolites and hormones [indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and zeatin riboside (ZR)] of annual (RD23) and perennial (Oryza longistaminata and the line AA with RD23 genetic background) rice genotypes. Results showed that both metabolites and hormones have distinct genotype and organ distribution patterns, and considerable variations were observed between the metabolites in stem bases of perennial and annual rice. Most of the metabolites,including sugars, organic acids, and amino acids, significantly accumulated in the stem bases of perennial rice by decreasing the level in roots and leaves. Fifteen metabolites consistently accumulated significantly in the stem bases of both perennial genotypes. Additionally, the organ-level IAA content and IAA/ZR ratio in the two perennials were considerably higher than those in RD23. The present study indicated that the significant accumulation of the metabolites at stem base and the higher IAA/ZR ratio are involved

        Study on Preparation of Core-Spun Yarn Surgical Sutures by Compositing Drug-Loaded Nanofiber Membrane with PLA and Its Controllable Drug Release Performance

        Polylactic acid (PLA) surgical suture is considered to be one of the most ideal materials for tissue closure due to its rich raw materials and excellent biological properties. However, surgical sutures face great challenges due to problems such as wound infection and tissue reaction in practical applications. In order to improve the clinical applicability of surgical sutures, we constructed a new drug-loading system for core-spun surgical sutures. The shell was composed of nanofibrous membranes composed of polyglycolic acid (PGA) and polycaprolactone (PCL) and ciprofloxacin (CIP) antibacterial drugs, and the core layer adopts PLA filament. By adjusting the composition ratio of PGA and PCL in the shell, a new mode of regulating the release rate and release cycle of the suture was constructed. According to different wound healing time, different drug release cycles of surgical suture were selected. In the study, the structure of the core-spun yarn can be clearly observed by scanning electron microscope, the higher the shell PGA content and drug loading, the faster the drug release rate. When the carrier ratio PGA/PCL was 80/20 and the drug loading was 3%, the drug release rate was the fastest and the drug release was high; finally, antibacterial experiments showed that the suture had excellent antibacterial effect and could effectively kill Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The successful preparation of core-spun yarn surgical suture provides a new idea for the study of new antibacterial surgical suture.
