      • Comparison of the community structure and changes of ground beetle (Coleoptera: Carabidae) as indicator species in forest genetic resource reserve

        2016년도에 조사를 수행한 경상북도 내 위치한 산림유전자원보호구역 3개 지역(봉화・영주・울진)의 곤충 군집 변화를 확인하기 위하여 5월에서 9월까지 함정 트랩(pitfall trap)을 이용하여 5회씩 3반복하여 각각 상대적으로 비교 하였다. 채집된 딱정벌레류는 딱정벌레과 등 22과 141종 2,415개체가 확인 되었으며, MRPP (Multi-response Permutation procedures)분석 결과 서식지간의 군집구조차이가 있음을 확인 하였고(p < 0.001), Bray-cutis 분석결과 군집간의 차이와 함께 신갈나무 군락이 보행성 딱정벌레류의 종 풍부도에 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났고 소나무군락 은 비교적 낮은 영향을 받았다. 식생유형에 대한 지표종 분석결과 신갈나무 군락에서 붉은칠납작먼지벌레(Synuchus cycloderus Bates, 1873)를 포함한 4종, 자작나무 군락에서는 노랑털검정반날개(Ocypus weisei Harold, 1877)를 포함한 3종, 소나무 군락에서는 홍딱지반날개(Platydracus brevicornis Motschulsky, 1862)를 포함한 3종의 지표종 변화를 확인 하였다.

        충남대학교 학술림 산책로 훼손실태 및 관리방안에 관한 연구

        This study concentrates an the trail of the CNU(Chungnam National University) forest. The amount of use and the pattern of damage are considered, as well as the extent of environmental damage. Finally, some managerial strategies are proposed in connection with sustainable maintenance. The trail of the university forest is composed of three sections; one is the neighborhood park and the Institute of Information Technology/Communications, the second is the Institute of Information Technology/Communications and the Dormitory, and the third section is the Dormitory and the Foreign prof's Apt. The total length of the trail is 2.6km. The daily amount of use is 1,269 visitors per day. The amount of using increased three times the amount of that in 1998. This study shows the pattern of damage of the trail in the order of root-exposure, widening, rock-exposure, deepening and the divergence in the frequency of occurrence of all these factors. Environmental damage is also graded thus: grade 3 is 27.4m, grade 4 is 0.8m, grade 5 is 1.5m, and grade 6 is 0.2m. Accordingly, some managerial strategies were proposed in connection with the sustainable trail maintenance.

        Interleukin-6(IL-6) is a multifunctional cytokine that acts on various target cells to induce a diversity of biological responses. Studies were performed on the purification of soluble and functional IL-6 expressed in the periplasm of Escherichia coli. The coding region of the IL-6 gene was fused to the pe1B secretion signal sequence and the expression was under the control of T7 promotor. Upon cell induction under 26 C, recombinant IL-6 was overexpressed in the periplasmic soluble fraction. The periplasmic soluble extract was already 50% pure and was further purified to homogeneity by gel filtration and Mono-Q column chromatography. About 1.5 mg pure protein was obtained from 11 cultured cells. The recombinant IL-6 had a specific activity_ of 1 x 108 U/mg in B9 bioassay, which is eqivalent to that of the natural IL-6. To understand the structure-functional relationship of IL-6, twenty two alanine substitutions of IL-6 have been generated in helix B and surrounding loop regions (amino acid residues 51-109). Most of the mutant proteins were soluble, but those having alanine substitution at Asp7l, G1u93, Phe 94, G1u95, Tyr97, and Arg104 showed little expression or the reduced yield, suggesting that these residues may involve in the folding process or the stability of IL-6 tertiary structure.

        O-deGlcNAcylation is required for <i>Entamoeba histolytica</i>-induced HepG2 cell death

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P> <I>Entamoeba histolytica</I> is an enteric tissue-invading protozoan parasite that causes amoebic colitis and occasionally liver abscess in humans. <I>E. histolytica</I> can induce host-cell apoptosis by initiating various intracellular signaling mechanisms closely associated with tissue pathogenesis and parasitic immune evasion. O-GlcNAcylation, similar to phosphorylation, is involved in various cell-signaling processes, including apoptosis and proliferation, with O-GlcNAc addition and removal regulated by O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) and O-GlcNAcase (OGA), respectively. However, whether O-GlcNAc alterations in host cells affect <I>E. histolytica</I>-induced cell death and which signal molecules participate in <I>E. histolytica</I>-induced deglycosylation remain unknown. In this study, co-incubation of HepG2 cells with <I>E. histolytica</I> increased DNA fragmentation and LDH release as compared with control cells. Additionally, Gal-lectin-mediated amoebic adherence of live trophozoites to HepG2 cells decreased O-GlcNAcylated protein levels within 5 min. We also observed a rapid decrease in cellular OGT protein level, but not OGA, in HepG2 cells in a contact-dependent manner. Furthermore, HepG2 pretreatment with OGA inhibitors or OGA siRNA prevented <I>E. histolytica</I>-induced O-deGlcNAcylation, DNA fragmentation, and LDH release. Our results suggested that <I>E. histolytica</I>-induced O-deGlcNAcylation in HepG2 cells was an important process required for hepatocyte cell death induced by <I>E. histolytica</I> adherence.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> <I>Entamoeba histolytica</I> remarkably induces cell death in HepG2 cells. </LI> <LI> O-GlcNAcylated proteins were rapidly and dramatically reduced in Entamoeba-treated HepG2 cells in a contact-dependent manner. </LI> <LI> Alteration of OGT/OGA expression with OGA inhibitor reduces <I>E. histolytica</I>-induced O-deGlcNAcylation in HepG2 cells. </LI> <LI> Inhibition of OGA activity reduces <I>Entamoeba</I>-induced host cell death in HepG2 cells. </LI> </UL> </P>

        관상동맥 시술 도중 발생한 좌주간부 관상동맥 박리에 대한 스텐트 삽입 치료의 단장기 임상 결과 : acute and long-term results

        목적 : 심도자 사용 시술과 관련된 좌주간부 관상동맥박리에 대한 적절한 치료는 아직 확실히 정립되지 않은 상태이다. 이에 본 연구는 좌주간부 관상동맥 박리에 대한 스텐트 삽입술의 단장기 임상결과를 후향적으로 분석하였다. 방법 : 좌주간부 관상동맥 박리에 대한 치료로 즉각적인 스텐트 삽입술을 시행하는 것이 안전하고 효과적인 방법임을 가설하였고, 이러한 즉각적인 스텐트 삽입을 시행한 10명의 환자를 대상으로 단장기적 임상경과를 의무기록 고찰과 전화 면담을 통해서 평가하였다. 결과 : 전체 환자 모두 처음부터 좌주간부 관상동맥에 유의한 협착을 가진 환자는 없었으며, 8명의 환자는 심도자의 조작으로 인한 박리가 발생한 경우였고(진단적 혈관 조영술 중에 3명, 유도 도자 조작 중에 5명), 나머지 2명은 다른 병변에 스텐트 삽입시술을 하는 중에 박리가 발생하였다. 이 10명의 환자에서 모두 즉각적인 스텐트 삽입술이 시행되었고, 4명의 환자에서 시술 도중 혈압 저하로 Intra-aortic Ballon Pump (IABP)를 장착하였다. 모든 환자에서 성공적으로 스텐트가 삽입되었고, 병원내 사망은 1명도 없었다. 6개월 추적 관상동맥 조영술은 8명의 환자에서 시행되었다. 혈관 조영상의 재협착(직경 협착 50% 이상)은 8명 모두에게서 관찰되지 않았으며, 퇴원 후 평균 31±25개월의 추적관찰 결과 주요 심장사건은 1건도 발생하지 않았다. 결론 : 비록 대상 환자가 적은 연구였지만 좌주간부 관상동맥 박리에 대한 스텐트 삽입술은 기술적으로 안전하고 빠르게 시행 할 수 있으며, 훌륭한 단장기적인 치료 효과를 보여준다. Background : The optimal treatment of patients with left main coronary artery (LMCA) dissection during catheter-based procedure remains uncertain. We retrospectively analyzed the acute and long-term results of bail-out stenting for LMCA dissection. Methods : In cases with significant LMCA dissection occurring during catheter-based procedure, prompt stent implantation may be safe and associated with favorable clinical outcome. We evaluated the acute and long-term results of bail-out stenting for LMCA dissection occurring during catheter-bases procedure in 1- patients. Results : Initially, there was significant stenosis of LMCA segment in these patients. Catheter-induced dissection occurred in 8 patients (during diagnostic angiography in 3 patients and guiding catheter manipulation in 5 patients). Two patients suffered dissection in the setting of stent deployment in other vessels. Therefore, bail-out stenting LMCA dissection was performed in a total of 10 patients. In 4 patients, hypotension developed and intra-aortic balloon pump was placed during procedure. Stents were successfully deployed in all patients. There was no in-hospital mortality. Six-month angiographic follow-up was performed in 8 patients. Angiographic restenosis(diameter stenosis 50%) was not observed in all patients at follow-up study. During a mean follow-up of 31±25 months after hospital discharge, there was no major adverse cardiac event (death, myocardial infarction, and target lesion revascularization). Conclusion : Bail-out LMCA stenting is technically feasible, and showed good acute and long-term results in a small series of patients.

      • 3차원 캐릭터 애니메이션 저작 도구

        In this paper, we present a three-dimensional modeling and animation tool that end-users can create 3D mesh data directly from photographs in an interactive manner. The mesh data is generated automatically after the users mark specific points in the images. A 3D model is defined and rendered using the mesh data. The animation tool generates motion data depending on the already defined object model structure. The animation tool including our modeling tool. Differently from conventional 3D graphics tools that model objects abased on geometrically calculated data, our tool models 3D geometric and animation data by approximating to the real object using 2D images interactively. It is due that some applications do not need precise representation, and rather need more easy way to obtain an approximated model looking similar to the real object. Our tool is appropriate for such applications.

        관광학부 재학생들의 학교에 대한 조직동일시 연구

        The present study was performed to investigate the possibility of organizational identification in a university context, and to identify the antecedents of organizational identification. Responses to the self-administered questionnaires were collected form 229 students of the Tourism Department of Kyonggi University. All items in the questionnaire were answered using a 5 - point Likert-type scale except those related to personal information. ANOVA, t-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression were used to analyze the collected data. The findings which resulted from above analysis were as follows : (1) It is highly likely that organizational identification exists in the university context. (2) The degree of organizational identification is related to gender with female students identifying more strongly with the institution. (3) Additional factors affecting the level of organizational identification are interest in their major, and the employment potential of, and social status of occupations related to their major. (4) Other influential factor are the competence of their professors, relationships with their classmates, and the prestige of their department within the university.
