      • 흰쥐에 있어서 악관절 원판의 미세구조적 소견

        In order to investigate the ultrastructure of the articular disc of the rat mandibular joint, the articular discs of aduct rats were studied by light and electron microscope. The findings were as follows. Most cells of the articular disc of the madibular joint were chondroid cells, and were arranged irregularly in anterior and posterior portions, but in middle portion, two or three cells were arranged linearly, and they were encapsulated by territorial matrix. The nacleus of chondroid cell was irregular shape or binucleated, and pyknosed occasionally, the nucleus fibrous lamina was developed, however the rough endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, lysosome, and golgi apparatus were not well developed, and many partitions of the cytoplasm were, filled with intracytoplasmic microfilaments. The micropinocytotic vesicles lining the cell membrane were not well developed, two or three lipid droplet was shown in the cytoplasm, shorter cellular processes which was characteristics of chondrocyte were well developed. The membrane bounded or membrane unbounded electron dense material was scattered in the extracellular matrix. The cells showed degenerative changes, ie rupture of the cell membrane, loss of cytoplasm, outflow of cell organelle were also observed. The cells in close vicinity to synovial cavity showed different aspects from chondroid cells. The cells were long, and had no cellular process, and their nucleus was long and occupied the most parts of the cytoplasm. So the organelle and intracytoplasmic microfilament were not well developed. The articular surface of the articular disc was lined with amorphous electron dense material.

        실험적으로 일이킨 백서에서의 바이러스성 심근염에 대한 연구

        N/A Background: The authors injected EMC virus (Encephalomyocarditis virus) to induce viral myocarditis in ICR mice in order to study the survival rate and serial histopathologic change of viral myocarditis according to duration. Methods: Seventy adult male ICR mice of 8 to 10 weeks were used for experiment. Among 70 mice, 40 mice (Group I) were used to observe survival and 30 mice (Group II) were used to see serial histopathologic change (Each 5 mice were killed before and 5, 10, 20 days after virus injection). The hearts of animals were fixed in 10% buffered formalin and routinely processed. Hematoxylin & Eosin stain and Masson trichrome stain were done to observe inflammation and fibrosis. Results: 1) In Group I, 1 mouse died at each 2, 4, 5, 6 day after virus injection, and 4 mice died at 7 day and 2 mice died at 10 and 11 day. Total 10 animals among 40 died (mortality: 25%), and showed peak death period at 4-7 days, 2) In Group II, at 5th, 10th, 20th day after virus injection, average inflammatory grade in the myocardium were 1.8, 3.4, 2.0, respectively. 3) Histologic findings revealed monouclear cells infiltration, myofiber necrosis & degeneration. These changes occur multifocally rather than diffusely. Inflammation was most severe at 10 days. 4) Fibrosis was increased at 20 days after virus injection compared to early phase of myocarditis. Distribution of fibrosis is relatively parallel with the area of inflammation, but not with the degree of inflammation. 5) In some cases, dilation of both atriums and ventricles and thrombosis accompaning severe pulmonary congestion and edema were observed, indicating possible transition to dilated cardiomyopathy. Conclusions: It is considered that this experimental animal model may be useful not only to study the pathogenetic mechanisms of viral myocarditis but also to observe clinical course and evaluate the effect of possible drugs to treat myocarditis.

        원발성 담즙성 간경변증 2예

        Primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC) is a chronic cholestatic liver disease of unknown origin. The small and medium sized intrahepatic bile ducts are destroyed by an inflammatory process, which, it has been suggested, is of the autoimmune type. It is strongly associated with the presence of antimitochondrial antibodies, predominantly IgM and IgG. The liver changes are classified into four stages, of which stage IV represents the development of cirrhosis, which required orthotropic liver transplantation in the longrun. The prevalence rates was reported 128 per millon in Sweden , but the disease is relatively rare in Oriental area. In medical treatment, long-term administration of ursodeoxycholic acid improves both clinical and biochemical signs, slows the progression of the disease and reduces the complication requiring liver transplantation. We report two cases of PBC, one with histologically proven cirrhosis, and the other with bile duct destruction consistent with stage III and hypothyroidism.

        간의 국소 결절성 과형성 1예

        Focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) is a rare benign hepatic tumor occurring predominantly in women of childbearing age. Generally oral contraceptive is not associated with FNH but might accentuate the vascular abnormalities which may cause the lesion to enlarge and, very rarely, to rupture. FNH is typically asymptomatic and seldom bleeds. Often it is incidentally observed during imaging procedures performed for some other reasons. The histologic feature of FNH is characterized by areas of localized growth of mature hepatocytes and septal fibrosis. Surgical resection is seldom required because of the benign nature of the lesion and its lack of significant complication. We experienced a case of focal nodular hyperplasia without liver cirrhosis confirmed by surgical resection and histologic examination. in a 47-year-old man..(Korea J Hepatol 2000;6:524-529).

        스포츠생리학 / 여자 유도선수들의 월경이 등속성 체간 근력 및 무드상태에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 여자 운동선수의 월경이 체간 근력 및 무드상태(심리적 변인)에 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아보기 위한 것이었다. 피험자는 매월 정상적으로 월경을 하고 신체적으로 결함이 없는 건강한 고등학교 여자유도선수(12명)를 대상으로 하였다. 측정 항목으로는 체격(신장, 체중)과 등속성 채간 굴·신근력, 그리고 무드상태 검사를 생리전과 생리중의 운동수행 후에 실시하였다. 본 연구의 자료처리는 IBM PC의 SPSS 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 각 항목에 대한 평균과 표준편차를 구하고, 생리 전·생리중의 등속성 체간 근력과 심리변화에 대한 유의차 검정을 위해 paired t-test를 실시하였으며, 유의수준은 p<.05로 하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 여성 운동선수들의 생리기간 중 체간 굴근력은 전 각속도에서 유의하게 감소하였으며(p<.05), 신근력은 30˚/sec와 60˚/sec에서 유의하게 감소하였다.(p<.05). 생리기간 중에 무드상태의 긴장(tension), 우울(depression), 분노(anger)에서는 아무런 변화가 나타나지 않았으나, 활력(vigor)은 유의하게 감소하였고(p<.05), 피로(fatigue)는 유의하게 증가하였다(p<.05). 이상의 결과를 볼 때 여자 운동선수들의 월경이 인체의 근기능을 저하시켰으며, 심리적으로는 부정적인 변화를 초래하였다. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of menstruation on isokinetic trunk extension/flexion(TEF) strength and psychological states in female judo athletes(N=12). TEF muscle strength was measured by cybex NORM 770 during pre menses and menses. Psychological states was measured at the same time by using the profile of mood states. There was a significant difference between pre-menses and during menses on trunk strength(p<.05). In psychological test, vigor and fatigue were negatively changed during menstruation(p<.05). It was concluded that menstruation has detrimental effects on trunk muscle strength and mood states. Negative psychological effect may contribute to decrease trunk strength of judo athletes. Other physiological variables such as hormone, electrical imbalance and lactate accumulation need to be investigated to explain the relationship between menstruation and athletic performance.

        글리세롤 근주 이후 발생된 가토의 신장조직변화와 연탄가스 폭로후 변화된 가토의 신장조직 소견에 관한 비교 연구

        Anthracite coal briquette gas is complex, which is made of CO, SONO, and H,S. Each of them has been known to make a its own characteristic pathologic change. Therefore, various pathologic changes have been reported in the Anthractive coal briquette gas poisoning. Particularly, Acute renal failure in the CO poisoning has been one of main topics to many clinicians. Some reserchers presented tissue hypoxia in the early stage of renal damage and rhabdomyolysis in the following stages for the etiological aspects. However, the exact cause of the damage is not yet well characterized. We exposed 44 house rabbits with anthractite coal briquette gas & glycerol under the acute condition as well as the chronic condition, and we observed patologic changes sequentially in the course of time, so that we tried to elucidate the extent of damage effects of the rhabdomyolysis by morphologically comparing the renal pathologic changes of rabbits caused by anthracite coal briquette gas poisoning with that by rhabdomyolysis. The rhabdomyolysis was induced by injection of 50 9p glycerol intramuscullary. The obtained results were as follows, 1) The glomerulus was relatively well preserved, but the tubular and interstitial change, as congestion, vascular dilatation, edema were severe, and dependent on doses, under the acute exposure of anthracite coal briquete gas and glycerol in both. 2) The more severe damages of the kidney was noted in the chronic exposure of anthracite coal briquette gas as compared in the acute exposure, but the recovering change was found in the chronic exposure of glycerol. 3) The severe congestion, vascular dilatation, edema were observed in either of coal gas exposure and glycerol, but the inflammatory change with the mononuclear cell infiltration was confirmed in the acute exposure of coal gas, as well as in the chronic exposure of glycerol. 4) The pathologic findings of renal injury after exposure of anthracite coal briquette gas and glycerol were different. And so, the rhaMomyolysis was not considered to be the main cause of renal damage, even though it could be the concomitant factor of renal injury.
