        This study examined one-room(studio apartment) residential dweller's housing values and housing satisfaction, and the relationship between the sense of housing values and housing satisfaction of one-room residence. The study surveyed 302 one-room residents in Busan city, The researcher modified, complimented, and used the previous researches on housing values and housing satisfaction. The analysis of the data used SPSS Win 10.0 program. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: 1. The motive of choosing one-room residence was mainly the closeness to the school or work, Jeonse(Rent with a one-room deposit) was more common than ownership, and the size of one-room residence was 10 to 15 Pyeong. 2. Among the five housing values of one-room residence dwellers, that is, amenity, indoor and outdoor environment, economy/convenience, convenience in transportation, and the interior functionality, the convenience in transportation was ranked highest, and the indoor and out door environment and economy/convenience were followed. 3. The housing satisfaction of one-room residents was highest in location, and also high in the safety and the security or privacy, and the convenience of inside facility.

        콜리플라워를 이용한 피클제조 최적화

        The purpose of this study was to determine the organoleptic characterisitcs of cauliflower pickles made in various compounding ratio according to central conposite design for optimum organoleptic characteristics of the cauliflower pickles. The optimum mixing condition of cauliflower pickles were optimized, using central composite design with 3 variables and 3 levels, by response surface methodology. The various kinds of cauliflower pickle were made in various compounding ratio of vinegar, salt and sucrose - critical ingredients of pickle recipe - and were presented to reliable panels, who graded the subjects in 7 degrees for 4 items : color, lavor, hardness and overall quality. The optimum mixing conditions of cauliflower pickle were 603.50g of vinegar, 80.13g of salt and 251.079 of sucrose in the maximum point of overall quality.

        In order to investgate the change of dye adsorption and printing effect by alkali concentration steaming time, and dyeing paste, cotton fabric was printed with the reactive dyes. The results are as follows : 1. The most effect of dye adsorption showed at 0.5% Na2CO₃to dyeing paste for C. I. Reactive Blue28 and 1% Na2CO₃for Blue 198. 2. The effect of dye adsorption was practically unchanged according to the increase of steaming time for printing was 10 min. 3. The most effect of printing showed at 3% paste to dyeing paste. 4. The colorfastness to laundering of each dye was excellent and the lightfastness was good, but the colorfastness to perspiration was poor more or less. 5. It was found that the colorfastness was not influenced by alkali concentration and steaming time.

        Original Articles : Effect of aldosterone on the amplification of oncolytic vaccinia virus in human cancer Lines

        Background/Aims: JX-594 is an oncolytic virus derived from the Wyeth vaccinia strain that causes replication-dependent cytolysis and antitumor immunity. Starting with a cross-examination of clinical-trial samples from advanced hepatocellular carcinoma patients having high levels of aldosterone and virus amplification in JX-594 treatment, we investigated the association between virus amplification and aldosterone in human cancer cell lines. Methods: Cell proliferation was determined by a cell-counting-kit-based colorimetric assay, and vaccinia virus quantitation was performed by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and a viral plaque assay. Also, the intracellular pH was measured using a pH-sensitive dye. Results: Simultaneous treatment with JX-594 and aldosterone significantly increased viral replication in A2780, PC-3, and HepG2 cell lines, but not in U2OS cell lines. Furthermore, the aldosterone treatment time altered the JX-594 replication according to the cell line. The JX-594 replication peaked after 48 and 24 hours of treatment in PC-3 and HepG2 cells, respectively. qPCR showed that JX-594 entry across the plasma membrane was increased, however, the changes are not significant by the treatment. This was inhibited by treatment with spironolactone (an aldosterone-receptor inhibitor). JX-594 entry was significantly decreased by treatment with EIPA [5-(N-ethyl-N-isopropyl)amiloride; a Na+/H+-exchange inhibitor], but aldosterone significantly restored JX-594 entry even in the presence of EIPA. Intracellular alkalization was observed after aldosterone treatment but was acidified by EIPA treatment. Conclusions: Aldosterone stimulates JX-594 amplification via increased virus entry by affecting the H+ gradient. (Korean J Hepatol 2011;17:213-219)

        보건의료분야의 남북 교류 및 협력 실태와 향후 정책방향

        North Korea has experienced a rapid decline in health care standards due to an acute shortage in health resources. Since the mid l990s, malnutrition, particularly among infants and young children, and tuberculosis and malaria have been reported as major health problems in North Korea. The objectives of this study are to identify laws and regulations between South and North Koreas and analyze the status of humanitarian assistance and find ways for developing cooperation between South and North Koreas in the health sector. The data used in this study are humanitarian assistance of government and non-governmental organizations for North Korea from 1997 to July 2005 and law and regulations related to inter-korean exchanges and cooperations. `The law on Inter-Korean Exchanges and Cooperations` of the South Korea was enacted to legally support humanitarian assistance for North Korea in 1990. Nevertheless, it was shown that due to a lack of coordination between NGOs, there arose several problems such as duplicated support to the North Korean health care sector. The findings suggest that South Korea`s health infrastructure should be focused on promoting participation of health experts, establishment of roles and responsibilities, and networking and inter-agency collaboration, and that the government will have to establish guidelines and strengthen its support for relevant agencies as well as for health and medical experts, with a view to developing effective communication channels between the two Koreas. Effective efforts should be made to meet these problems. Such efforts might include promotion of cooperation which both Koreas can benefit from, as well as provision of supports from a humanitarian standpoint.

      • Visual Control of Automated COVID-19 Swab Sampling Robot

        As coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a global pandemic, the initial screening of patients is regarded as the most effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, enormous swap sampling has led to the high workload of medical professionals as the number of infection has increased. Therefore, we propose a swab sampling robot systems in a fully automated fashion to address these issues. For automation of nasopharyngeal swab, the proposed robot system is designed to automatically insert a sampling swab through one nostril and collect sample via visual feedback. A prototype of the robot system incorporates a 6-DOF manipulator and a RGB-D sensor to investigate the feasibility of a visual-servo control scheme in automatic swab sampling. For accurate and safe operation, a deep learning-based nostril detection algorithm is adopted, which offers an accuracy of 99% at 60 FPS. Given the nostril position in 3D, the robot is planned to reach the target within a specific time. Since the kinematic control of the robot is prone to failure in reaching the target, we introduce the visual-servo control of the robot via the detection and tracking of error between the target position and the current swab tip. As a result, the visual-servo controlled robot could successfully reach the nostril target within an error of 1.11 mm on average for 30 trails trials different swabs, while the non-visual control with a 10.58-mm positioning error failed to reach the target.

        NR1D1 Recruitment to Sites of DNA Damage Inhibits Repair and Is Associated with Chemosensitivity of Breast Cancer

        <P>These findings show how a nuclear receptor and its ligands blunts repair of double-strand DNA breaks, suggesting their candidacy as therapeutic targets in cancer patients.</P><P>DNA repair capacity is critical for survival of cancer cells upon therapeutic DNA damage and thus is an important determinant of susceptibility to chemotherapy in cancer patients. In this study, we identified a novel function of nuclear receptor NR1D1 in DNA repair, which enhanced chemosensitivity in breast cancer cells. NR1D1 inhibited both nonhomologous end joining and homologous recombination double-strand breaks repair, and delayed the clearance of γH2AX DNA repair foci that formed after treatment of doxorubicin. PARylation of NR1D1 by PARP1 drove its recruitment to damaged DNA lesions. Deletion of the ligand binding domain of NR1D1 that interacted with PARP1, or treatment of 6-(5H)-phenanthridinone, an inhibitor of PARP1, suppressed the recruitment of NR1D1 to DNA damaged sites, indicating PARylation as a critical step for the NR1D1 recruitment. NR1D1 inhibited recruitment of the components of DNA damage response complex such as SIRT6, pNBS1, and BRCA1 to DNA lesions. Downregulation of NR1D1 in MCF7 cells resulted in resistance to doxorubicin, both <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I>. Analysis of four public patient data sets indicated that NR1D1 expression correlates positively with clinical outcome in breast cancer patients who received chemotherapy.
