        Multiplex PCR Detection for 3 Events of Genetically Modified Maize, DAS-59122-7, TC6275, and MIR604

        A multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method was developed to simultaneously detect 3 events of genetically modified (GM) maize. The event-specific primers were used to discriminate the following 3 events of GM maize (DAS-59122-7, TC6275, and MIR604) using multiplex PCR method. The zein gene was used as an endogenous maize reference gene in the multiplex PCR detection. The primer pair Zein-F/R producing a 99 bp amplicon was used to amplify the zein gene. The primer JI-Das-F1/R1 for DAS-59122-7, JI-TC6275-F3/R3 for TC6275, and JI-MIR F1/R1 for MIR604 yielded an amplicon of 130, 162, and 197 bp, respectively. The detection limit of multiplex PCR was 1% for DAS-59122-7, TC6275, and MIR604 for one reaction.

        김소월 「시혼」의 이기론적(理氣論的)고찰

        This study aims at clarifying that Kim, So-Wol`s poetics is based on LiKi(理氣)philosophy. And this is to show the distinction between Western ideas like Romanticism which is accepted by Kim-uk and So-Wol`s traditional poetics. The results are as follows. First, So-Wol is realized paradoxical sense which can find out positive meaning from negative thing and overcome Western dichotomy by LiKijimyo(理氣之妙) principal means that Li(理) as Hyungisanja(形而上者: metaphysical thing) and Ki(氣) as Hyungihaja (形而下者: physical thing)are neither divided nor united. Second, So-Wol emphasizes that immutable character of Sihon(詩 魂) on his poetics because he wants to show Li`s character as inevitable cause and right. As he authorizes Sihon(詩魂) ontological and axiological character of Li, Sihon(詩魂) has Good truth and thereby has good effect for society. Unlike Kim-uk`s romanticism, to display subjectivity on So-Wol`s poetics is based on LiKi philosophy has a effect for society, because the subjectivity has a moral sensibility. Last, like Li and Ki, Sihon(詩魂) is manifested on poetry by Umyoung(陰影), so poetry is valuated by not Sihon but Umyoung. But So-Wol contradicted himself by asserting that Umyoung(陰影) isn`t discussed merits and demerits. This is explained by considering LiKijimyo(理氣之妙). Ki is a manifestation of Li, therefore when we see poetry as Ki with view is based on authenticity, Ki is not a thing of judgement. But when we poetry with view is based on substantiality, Ki is a thing of judgement. In conclusion, So-Wol intended to include not only eternal nature but also substantiality on modern poetry with LiKi(理氣) philosophy.

        This study was designed to exam the aged's needs for spiritual nursing care. The purpose was to serve as a basis for the development of spiritual nursing practice. The major findings are as follows : 1. The degree of needs for spiritual nursing care as area was that needs of love and relationship mean 22.0, needs of meaning and object mean 28.2, needs of forgiving mean 13.5. Total needs for spiritual nursing care mean 63.7, which was on the upper middle level. The needs of meaning and object was rated highest. 2. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of love and relatiohship wasn't significanlty different. 3. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of meaning and object was significantly different according to two factors : age(F=7.260, p=0.001), religion(F=5.275, p=0.001). Higher needs of meaning and object was possessed by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other. 4. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, four factors made a significantly difference to needs of forgiving : sex(t=-2.851, p=0.006), age(F=8.201, p=0.001), religion(F=6.928, p=0.000), disease(t=2.327, p=0.024). Higher needs of forgiving was possessed by man than woman, by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other, by the one who have disease than the other.

        Statistical Analyses of Interpretive Properties of Korean Multiple Subject Constructions

        Multiple Subject Constructions (MSCs) have been one of the interesting topics in Korean syntax, and there have been lots of studies on this topic. Among the studies, Yoon (2004, 2009, 2015) pointed out that two interpretive properties (Characteristic and Newsworthy) play an important role in making MSCs acceptable to the native speakers. Kim (2015) adopted this idea in her experimental study and showed that these two interpretive properties played a role in Korean native speakers` knowledge of MSCs. This paper applied more statistical analyses to Kim`s (2015) study and investigated how these two interpretive properties affected the acceptability of MSCs. We first adopted a multinomial regression test to examine (i) how these two interpretive properties affected the acceptability of MSCs and (ii) if there is any interaction between these two factors. Then, we applied the predict() function and correlation tests to statistically examine which factor was more powerful. Through the analysis, the following facts were observed: (i) both Characteristic and Newsworthy play a role independently, (ii) there is no interaction between these two factors, and (iii) Newsworthy finally had more powerful influence than Characteristic in the acceptability of MSCs.         영구치의 선천적 결손을 동반한 복합 치아종

        치아종은 치아조직의 비정상적인 과성장으로인해 형성되는 외배엽성 상피세포와 중배엽세포로 구성된 혼합종양이다. 양성 치성 종양 중에서 가장 흔하며 신생물이라기보다 과오종으로 보고 있다. 치아종은 악골내 모든 부위에서 발생할 수 있지만 치아와 유사한 복합 치아종은 비교적 상악 전치부에 호발하고,불규칙한 형태를 나타내는 복잡 치아종은 하악 구치부에 호발한다. 일반적인 증상이 없어 일상적인 방사선 검사에서 주로 발견되며 영구치의 맹출지연이나 매복,유치의 만기잔존 등의 원인이 될 수 있지만 영구치의 선천적 결손을 동반한 증례는 매우 드물다 치료는 외과적 제거가 추천되며 완전한 적출시 재발은 드물다. 본 증례는 영구치의 선천적 결손을 동반한 복합 치아종 환자에 대하여 보고하는 바이다. Odontoma is the most common benign odontogenic tumors, and have been defined as mixed odontogenic tumor composed of epithelial and mesenchymal cells. Odontoma is believed to be hamartomatous rather than neoplastic in nature. The classification by WHO divides odontoma into 2 groups such as complex odontoma and compound odontoma. Compound odontoma comprises dental tissues, resembling the morphology of a tooth and has predilection for the anterior maxilla, In contrast, complex odontoma has unorganized mass, not resembling the normal tooth and has predilection for the posterior mandible. Odontoma is almost asymptomatic, so it is usually found on routine radiographic examination. Common presenting symptom is impacted or unerupted permanent teeth and retained primary teeth, but coexistent odontoma and congenital missing of permanent teeth is a very rare condition. The recommended treatment for an odontoma is conservative surgical excision, with care taken to remove the surrounding soft tissue. This report presents 2 patients with compound odontoma of the mandible who have congenital missing of the permanent teeth.

        북한 가요에 나타난 여성상

        This paper explores women's images as represented in the popular music of North Korea and analyzes how these images are actualized in real life. This paper aims to reveal the gap which has existed between the dual views of women in North Korean society by criticizing views of women in North Korea from a feminist perspective and by examining how the gap is integrated into the political system of North Korea. North Korean society demands that women play two roles, that of chollima who are laborers equal to men, and at the same time that of "ahn-hae (wife)". Within this context the social mobilization of the female labor force is propagated as a method of ultimately solving women's problems and attaining women's liberation, but women are in reality the primary carers of children and the flowers of life' as the "ahn-hae (wife)" who is responsible for household labor and child rearing In order to gain a greater understanding of womens views, the object of this study was restricted to popular songs in which women were the singers or 'storytellers' or which focused on women's lives. These were gathered regardless of the dates of production and release and genre. However, in order to understand more clearly views of women in North Korean music, an examination of the North Korean views of the arts based on "self-reliant" thought and the general characteristics of North Korean music is necessary. The characteristics of North Korean music can be summarized as follows: As culture and the arts are understood as a means to educate the people of the revolutionary spirit of communism, the functions of propaganda and agitation are regarded as important objectives of music. At the same time, this needs to be engaged with the sentiments among North Koreans and a musical style which complies with the peoples' life style, emotion, and aesthetic sense. However, there is an emphasis on the selection of only 'progressive' arts and the need to support national legacies for the future development and succession to the following generations. Rock'n'roll and jazz are considered bourgeois musical genres filled with deterioration and enjoyment and officially prohibited because western music is considered to weaken and violate revolutionary spirits. As the content rather than the format of pop-songs is thought to be more important, exact pronunciation in the delivery of the lyrics and uniform singing methods are required. According to this study, pop-songs of North Korea are produced and disseminated under the directions of the policy of music based on three elements, Party(Communist Party), class and populace. In the third section of this paper, womens images as represented in North Korean pop-songs are divided into those of 'loyal women,' 'waiting women,' 'women in love,' and 'women/femininity as parable and symbol' to critique the dichotomous vision of women. The analysis was focused on the lyrics collected by various means. The findings may be summarized as followed. First, the loyal women' swear their subordination and devotion to the father (Leader) as 'daughter' with utmost, extreme filial piety and loyalty. As 'filial piety' means loyalty to the Leader, the patriarchal relationship is extended to the relationship between the Leader and all women. Therefore the 'loyal women' deny their independent self-reliance with earnest and adoring attitudes toward him, which leave them in a most inferior status in vertical and hierarchical relationships with men (either the Leader or father). Second, the 'waiting women' are those who devote their life to take care of men "heros". This type of woman is idealized in her role of backing men and keeping the family while consoling their men in order that they may be able to exert their utmost ability to accomplish their revolutionary tasks. Formats which include such roles as 'men leaving' and "women maintaining" demonstrates the roles of women who are said to take charge of one wheel of the revolution, while in reality also being defined as an auxiliary of men by the typical sexual division of labor. Third, the 'women in love' type suggest sexual roles and ideal images of men and women through depictions of romantic relationships. Men are depicted as 'working hard', while women are shy and typically good virginal girls. In the process of being wooed "active men" seek out a dichotomously opposite "passive woman". In the act of expressing affection, role types such as "giving women" and "taking men" are considered natural. The behavior of "love" is actualized through women's self-sacrificing pleasure of being able to provide men with something obtained through their physical and emotional labor. The final type is women/femininity represented as parable and symbol through 'flowers' and the image of the 'mother'. Women/femininity as a parable does not directly indicate women's role, but it serves to preserve and spread traditional men-centered images of women. Women are defined as auxiliary and supplementary beings who as sexual objects for mens pleasure, are also mothers who give out unconditional love. The metaphor of women/femininity is also used to parallel the relationship between the Leader/Partys friendly image. Motherhood is utilized to praise the political system and gain propaganda affects. In conclusion, women's images as represented in popular songs in North Korea do not include women's independent consciousness and viewpoint beyond the relationships of the Leader/Party and/or men. In the simultaneous enactment of the roles of flower/wife and laborer, women in North Korea must endure dual status and a heavy burden of work. However, the conflict and inconsistencies caused by such a dual view of women are sealed by loyalty to the Party and the Leader, and womens role for reproduction is regarded as a part of social revolution, not understood as inequality between the genders. This is because the logic of the family line as the revolutionary line" justifies the dual views of women in North Korea politically and harmonizes with them. Accordingly, this research concludes that the propaganda which claims that women in North Korea have obtained womens liberation by becoming a part of the revolution and attaining labor classes status is grossly misleading, and far different to their everyday realities. The dualistic understandings of women and the dual labor roles which are demanded of women reveals the very partial and superficial improvement in womens real lives. Therefore, the status of North Korean women as revealed in the pop-songs of North Korea is not one obtained by womens autonomous demands, but policies that involve women in the maintenance of the status quo.

        자궁경부에 발생한 원발성 세포독성 T-세포 림프종 1예 : A case report

        악성 림프종에서 자궁 경부로의 전이는 드물지 않지만 자궁 경부의 원발성 림프종은 드물다. 우연히 건강검진에서 발견하게된 병기 IE로 진단된 자궁경부의 T-세포 림프종 1 예를 보고하고 올바른 진단과 분류가 이루어지면 적절한 치료를 할 수 있고 이로 인해 성공적인 예후를 보일 수 있음을 강조한다. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma can involve the gynecologic tract, most often as a manifestatiion of systemic involvement. Primary lymphomas of the female genital tract are rare. Most involve the cervix rather than the uterine corpus. All of those previously reported have been B-cell lymphomas, with the exception of several case reports. Primary T-cell lymphoma of the uterine cervix is rare. We describe a rare case of primary cytotoxic T-cell lymphoma of the uterine cervix, Ann Arbor stage IE in a 55-year-old woman. The tumor, incidentally disclosed at gynecological examination, appeared as diffuse cervical enlargement with mucosal erosion. A biopsy was taken and showed diffuse infiltration of variable sized lymphoma cells. Neoplastic cells were positive for LCA, CD3, TIA-1 and consistent with cytotoxic T-cell lymphoma. She was treated with 3 cycles of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisolone(CHOP). After chemotherapy, the patient was treated by pelvic external radiation therapy. At present, the patient is well and disease-free.
