        Differential shortening of vertical members in high-rise buildings affect other structural members that have to be considered such as horizontal members and exterior cladding of many elements which affect the total amount of shortening, different loading history mainly comes from the different construction time. Shortening of 66 story concrete column and wall were investigated and compared according to the different construction time. Little difference was found between the total shortening of column and wall.

      • 토끼에서 Etofenprox와 Spinosad 합제의 국소자극성 시험

        This study was performed to evaluation the skin and eye irritation of etofenprox 8% and spinosad 4% combination in male New Zealand White rabbits. In skin irritation test, the combination of etofenprox and spinosad did not showed any change of body weight but caused slight skin irritation with the P.I.I. (primary irritation index) value 0.25. The etofenprox and spinosad combination showed severe eye irritation 1 h, 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h after ocular treatment, having the A.O.I. (acute ocular irritation) value of 37.3. Therefore, these result indicated that the combination of etofenprox and spinosad might be irritant formulation on eye and skin.

      • 인체 치은섬유모세포에 대한 니켈의 세포독성과 Ferulic Acid 및 Vitamin E의 독성경감효과

        Nickel is major metal used in the nickel-chromium alloys of most orthodontic appliances and partial denture. But this metal is known to cause hypersensitivity, dermatitis and asthma. In addition, significant carcinogenic and mutagenic potentials has been demonstrated for compounds containing nickel. The purpose of this study was to develop the compounds repairing on the cytotoxicity of nickel in cultured human gingival fibroblasts. The cytotoxicity of nickel sulfide and nickel oxide in human gingival fibrobalsts treated with dose dependent nickel was measured by MTT assay for cell viability and XTT assay for cell adhesion activity. The cytotoxicity of ferulic acid itself also was investigated by the same cells and methods. The procedure of repairment in human gingival fibroblasts injuried by NiS_50 (nickel sulfide IC_50) and Ni0_50 (nickel oxide IC_50) was carried out to observe after treatment of ferulic acid by dose dependent manner. The 5×10⁴ cells/㎖ of human gingival fibroblasts in each well of 24 multidish were cultured. After 24 hrs, the cells were treated with solution of all groups. After the human gingival fibroblasts were cultured in same condition for 48 hrs, the colormetric methods were performed to evaluate the cytotoxicity. The light microscopic study was carried out to observe morphological changes of cultured human gingival fibroblasts. The results were as follows : 1. According to the MTT absorbance, nickel sulfide and nickel oxide were significantly decreased in 25μM and 50μM, respectively. IC_50 of nickel sulfide and nickel oxide were 138.1μM and 311.7μM, respectively. 2. According to the XlT absorbance, nickel sulfide was significantly decreased in 50 μM and nickel oxide was significantly decreased in 100μM, IC_50 of nickel sulfide and nickel oxide were 104.4μlM and 367.8μM, respectively. 3. MTT_50 and XTT_50 of ferulic acid were 2,130.3μM and 1,773.7μM, respectively. These results were determind to nontoxic by Borenfreund at., al. 4. The inhibitory effects of ferulic acid against nickel-induced cytotoxicity were significantly increased from 25μM ferulic acid, but inhibitory effects of 100μM ferulic acid was more decreased than that of 50μM ferulic acid. 5. Treatment of ferulic acid and vitamin E combination was more assumed an upward curve than that of ferulic acid only. 6. The cell numbers and cell shapes were repaired from 1μM ferulic acid. However 100μM ferulic acid showed degeneration again. These results suggest that ferulic acid and vitamin E may be decrease the cytotoxicity of nickel sulfide and nickel oxide in cultured human gingival fibroblasts.

      • Yersinia pseudotuberculosis 감염증 환아 1례

        Yersinia는 장내세균과에 속하는 그람음성간균으로 그 중 사람에게 병원성을 갖는 것은 Y. pestis, Y. enterocolitica, Y. pseudotuberculosis의 세 균종으로 알려져 있으며, 주로 동물의 병원체이지만 감염된 동물과 직접 또는 간접적으로 접촉한 사람에서도 질병을 일으키는 것으로 보고되고있다. 이중 Y. pseudotuberculosis는 소화기 증상 발현뿐 아니라 피부병변등의 다양한 임상증상을 유발하기 때문에 다른 질환과의 감별이 어렵다고 알려져있다. 그 동안 Y. pseudotuberculosis 감염증은 국내에서 다수 보고되었으나, 청주를 중심으로한 인근지역에서의 발생은 보고된 예가 없었다 이에 저자들은 지속적인 고열과 전신피부발진을 주소로 내원하여 복통, 설사 등의 소화기증상과 더불어 피부의 낙설, 경부임파선염, 입술의 홍조 등 가와사끼병과 유사한 임상양상을 보이며 청주근방의 약수터에서 길어온 약수를 섭취한 기왕력이 있는 5세 여아가 혈청학적으로 Y. pseudotuberculosis로 진단된 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Yersinia pseudotuberculosis infection is an intestinal infectious disease and its clinical symptoms vary. In this report, we describe the clinical symptoms and laboratory findings of a 6 year old female child who had a history of ingestion of mountain water and was diagnosed on the basis of a 4-fold or greater titer change in agglutinating antibody. She admitted to CNU hospital with major complaints of fever, skin rash, and gastrointestinal symptoms. Litter in the course, periungal desquamation developed, mimicking Kawasaki disease. Treatments with antibiotics improved the conditions and serum examination revealed the Yersinia pseudotuberculosis 4a, 4b infection.

        당뇨병 및 간경변증 환자에서 발생한 Fusarium verticillioides에 의한 피부 감염 1예

        Fusarum species, which are common soil saprophytes, have been implicated as a pathogen causing a variety of opportunistic infections such as keratitis, onychomycosis, burn wound infection or disseminated systemic infections in immunocompromised hosts. We report a case of cutaneous infection caused by F. verticillioides in a 59-year-old man, with a long history of diabetes mellitus and alcoholic liver cirrhosis. He presented with a few papules and fluctuant cutaneous nodules on both forearms traumatized by woodstick 4 months ago. The diagnosis of F. verticillioides infection was established by histopathologic examination and findings of tissue cultures.

        Halon-1301과 CO_2의 물성에 관한 실험식

        몬트리올 의정서에 의해서 규제받는 Halon-1301과 대체 물질중의 하나인 CO_2의 물성(밀도, 점도, 엔탈피)의 실험식을 구하였다. 문헌에서 얻은 실험값을 이용하여 온도에 대한 회귀분석에 의해서 실험식을 얻었다. 압축인자를 이용하여 온도에 대한 2차 함수로서 밀도에 관한 실험식을 제안하였다. 점도는 온도에 대한 지수함수로 표시되며, 보정인자를 사용하여 사용 온도범위를 확장하였다. 엔탈피는 열용량과 마찬가지로 온도에 대한 2차 함수로 정의하여 나타내었다. 본 연구에서 제안된 위의 실험식의 상관계수는 0.99이상이었다. For Halon-1301 regulated by Montreal Protocol and CO_2 as its alternatives, the empirical equations of density, viscosity, and enthalpy were correlated in terms of temperature. They were obtained by regression analysis from the experimental data in the literature. The empirical equation of density was expressed as compressibility factor by the second- order function of temperature. The empirical equation of viscosity was formulated as a power function, and a correction factor was considered to cover the wider range of temperature. Finally, heat capacity as well as enthalpy were well fitted by empirical form of the second-order temperature. The correlation coefficients of the equations in this work were more than 0.99.

      • 간세포암의 고주파 열치료 후 천자침 경로를 통한 전이 1례

        Radiofrequency ablation(RFA), as a form of minimally invasive therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma, has become an important treatment modality. Because of limitation of surgery, RFA has become standard therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma in some situations. But there are some complications of RFA such as bleeding, infection, hematoma, adjacent organ thermal damage including intestinal perforation, needle track seeding, and so on. There are few reports in the literature that systematically evaluate the incidence of needle tract seeding and its associated risk factors. And only 2 cases of needle tract seeding of hepatocellular carcinoma after RFA were reported in Korea. We report a case of needle tract seeding of hepatocellular carcinoma after RFA.

      • SD Rats를 이용 1-hexene의 흡입독성 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the acute (4 hours) and repeated-dose (6 hours a day, 5 days a week, 4 weeks) toxic effects of I -hexene on Sprague- Dawley (SD) rats which were treated by inhalation. The results were as follows; I. The median lethal concentration (LC_(50)) was estimated 52,694 ppm (confidence limit 95%; 49,494~55,447 ppm) in acute inhalation. Abnormal clinical signs related to the l-Hexene were not observed with the acute inhalation dose. Gross findings of necropsy revealed on evidence of specific toxicity related to the 1-hexene, II. By repeated inhalation exposure the body weight of male were more or less reduced by the dose of 2,500 ppm and 5,000 ppm compared with control group. However there were no significant variation hematology and blood biochemistry for the exposed rats compared with the control rats. Abnormal clinical signs and gross findings of necropsy related to the 1-hexene were not shown. In conclusion when we exposed I-hexene to SD rats for 4 weeks, 5 days per week, 6 hours per day, the Lowest observed effect level (LOEL) was over 2,500 ppm and Non observed effect level (NOEL) was below 500 ppm.

        크롬(Ⅵ)의 체내 흡수와 소실속도에 관한 연구

        The CrO3 mostly used in plating. metal surface disposal, leather, cosmetic manufacturing, as an experiment material by repeatedly inhaling and exposure the male S.D. rats at a 0.00, 0.2., 0.50, 1.25 mg/㎡ concentration(particle size: 0.5-0.5 aerosol)6hours a day, 5day a week in 13weeks comparing with 2weeks, 8weeks of recovery group about the noxiousness of the experiment animal and the reduce scale of the CrO3 in the internal organ especially in blook and respiratory organ with the period of convalescent and clearance. The experiment results which we received are as follows. 1. In blood the RBC, HGB and HCT experiment, rats with 0.20, 0.50 mg/㎡ concentration showed that there were some decreases but not dependent. The kidneys absolute weight compared with control group was reduced intentionally(p〈0.05) and the lungs absolute weight compared with control group showed intentional increase(p〉0.05). 2. After the exposure of the experiment material, the whole blook, l\blood plasma and red blood cell in blood by (x): the period of convalescent, per (y); the decreasing of Cr concentration, was y=66.51 e -0.057x, y=67.2 e-0.101x, y=70.01 e-0.030 in 0.50 mg/㎡ exposure concentration by calculating the clearance coefficient of correlation, and the half life (day)was estimated 12.0, 6086, 23.0 each. 3, After the exposure of the experiment material, the experiment animals lung, liver and kidneys by(x); the period of convalescent, per (y); the decreasing of Cr conentration, was y=1808 e-0.00493x, y=12.02e-0.0297x, y=67.61 e-0.0292x in 0.50mg/㎡ exposure concentration by calculating the clearance coefficient of correlation, and the half life(day)was estimated 140.6, 23.3, 23.7, each, and including lung, liver with all of the experiment internal organs, the Cr clearance decreased as the exposure concentration increased.
