        In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

        TDI계 수분산성 폴리우레탄 접착제의 특성에 Diisocyanate의 구조가 미치는 영향

        수년 전부터 많은 연구자들에 의해 폴리우레탄의 수용화, 수분산화의 연구가 수행되어 왔다. 그럼에도 불구하고 폴리우레탄의 특성에 디이소시아네이트가 구조에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구는 많이 진행되지 않았고 또한 미흡한 상태이다. 따라서 번 연구에서는 디이소시아네이트의 형태와 함량 변화에 따른 폴리우레탄의 특성을 연구하였다. 폴리우레1탄 수분산체(PUD)는 poly(tetramethylent ether) glycol (PTMG), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), toluene 2,4-diisocyanate (TDI), dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA), trethylamine (TEA) 등을 사용하여 제조하였다. 제조한 폴리우레탄 수분산체(PUD)의 구조를 FT-IR을 이용하여 확인하였다. 폴리우레탄 수분산체의 특성은 DSC, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), particle analyzer, universal testing machine (UTM) 등을 사용하여 측정하였다. 폴리우레탄 수분산체(PHD)에서 입자크기는 IPDI 함량이 증가할수록 작아지는 경향을 나타내었으며, 유리전이온도(Tg)는 IPDI 함량이 증가할수록 조금씩 낮아지는 경향을 나타내었다. 또한, 폴리우레탄 수분산체(PUD)의 접착세기 변화에서는 [NCO]/[OH] 몰비를 1.2로 유지되도록 하면서 합성에 관여하는 [NCO] 양에 해당하는 [TDI]/[IPDI] 몰비를 변화시켜 얻은 폴리우레탄 수분산체의 접착세기는 [TDI][IPDI] 몰비가 50/50일때 좋은 집착세기를 나타내었다. 또한 [NCO]/[OH] 몰비를 1.6으로 일정하게 유지되도록 하고 [TDI]/[IPDI] 몰비를 변화시켜 얻은 폴리우레탄 수분산체의 접착세기는 [TDI]/[IPDI] 몰비가 75/25일 때 좋은 접착세기를 나타내었다. Aqueous polyurethane dispersions (PUD) has been investigated by many researchers for a long time. However, relatively little systematic work has been reported, in detail, on the effect of structure of the diisocyanate on the properties of polyurethane. This work describes the properties of polyurethane in relation to the variation of diisocyanate type and contents. Aqueous polyurethane dispersions (PUD) were prepared from the poly(tetramethylene ether) glycol (PTMG), toluene 2,4-diisocyanate (TDI), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), dimethyol propionic acid (DMPA), and triethylamine (TEA). Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), FT-IR, GPC, universal testing machine (UTM), and particle analyzer were utilized to characterize the physical and mechanical properties of PUD according to diisocyanate type and contents. As the content of IPDI in PUD increased, the particle size decreased. The glass transition temperatures (Tg) of PUT were shifted to a lower temperature as IPDI conent increased. When [NCO]/[OH] mole ratio was 1.2, the adhesion force of PUD shown the best result at [TDI]/[IPDI] mole ratio of 50/50. And, at [NCO]/[OH] mole ratio of 1.2, the adhesion force of PUD was the best when [TDIl/[IPDI] mole ratio was 75/25.

        Simplified Effective Compressive Strengths of Columns with Intervening Floor Slabs

        The current design codes discuss the effective compressive strengths of columns, which reflect a decrease in load transfer performance that can occur when columns and slabs have different concrete compressive strengths. The effective compressive strength of a column increases as it is confined by the slab, and the design codes mandate three different effective compressive strengths for interior columns (confinement on four sides), exterior columns (confinement on three sides), and corner columns (confinement on two sides). For both corner and exterior columns, the confinement effect of the slab is significantly smaller than that for the interior column, and there is a more marked decrease in load transfer performance. However, there is still a lack of theoretical studies investigating the effective compressive strengths of the corner and exterior columns. Therefore, based on the analysis model established in previous research, this study has proposed an equation for calculating the effective compressive strengths of the corner, exterior and isolated columns without any confinement effects of the slab. In addition, axial loading tests of isolated columns were conducted and the proposed equation was verified.

      • 내시경적 점막절제술로 치험한 식도 과립상 세포종 1례

        과립상 세포종은 Schwann 세포 기원으로 생각되며 인체에 비교적 드물게 발생한다. 과립상 세포종은 전신 어느 곳에서나 발견될 수 있으나 주로 혀, 구강, 피부 혹은 유방 등에서 호발하며 드물게 위장관에서 발견된다. 위장관에서는 식도에서 가장 호발하며 다음으로 위, 대장 순이다. 과립상 세포종은 대부분, 특히 위장관에서는 양성이며 소수의 악성 병변이 보고되었다. 이러한 이유와 함께 수술 전의 진단이 어렵기 때문에 과립상 세포종에 대한 근본적인 치료는 현재까지 외과적 절제술이다. 최근에 시도되는 치료방법들로는 내시경적 레이저 치료, 용종절제술, 내시경적 점막 절제술 등이 있다. 저자들은 상부 소화관 내시경검사를 시행하여 식도 과립상 세포종을 진단하고 내시경적 점막 절제술을 시행하여 합병증 없이 퇴원하여 현재 재발없이 경과 관찰중인 1례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Granular cell tumors, which occur infrequently, are probably of Schwann cell origin. They can occur almost anywhere in the body but usually affect the tongue, oral cavity, skin, or breasts and are rarely found in the gastrointestinal tracts. The esophagus is the most frequent gastrointestinal site, followed by the stomach and the colon. Granular cell tumors are generally benign, especially in the gastrointestinal tract, some malignant lesions have been reported. For this reason, and also because preoperative diagnosis is difficult, the standard treatment for granular cell tumor has until now been surgical excision. In recent years, other therapeutic methods is endoscopic laser therapy (ELT), polypectiomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). We report a case of esophageal granular cell tumor which was diagnosed by an endoscopy and managed using an endoscopic mucosal resection without complication.

        Terminal cancer patients in Korea have increased due to the development of technology and the structural change of diseases resulted from life quality improvement. Following this trend many hospitals are making efforts, such as renovating hospice wards, but architectural criteria are not sufficiently suggested for specialized hospice wards. The purpose of this study is to present the research data to improve the quality of hospice ward in general hospital Data collecting skills such as drawing documents analysis, observation were used to examine the condition of hospice ward. And, case study method was used to generate the design data which can be used for the appropriate spatial composition and the area calculation.

      • 흙의 다짐에 있어서 最大乾燥密度와 最適含水比의 推定에 對하여

        In order to obtain the prediction of the maximum dry density and the optimum moisture content of soil without soil moisture test, compaction test results from 157 different places either under construction or already completed were analyzed. The analyzed results were as follow The relationship between the maximum dry density and the optimum moisture content of the soil showing a correlation coefficient of 0.96 indicated that there was a high correlation between them. From the above relationship we obtained the equation. ◁그림 삽입▷ (원문을 참조하세요) Equation between the optimum moisture content and the maximum wet density of the soil was ◁그림 삽입▷(원문을 참조하세요), and the values of the optimum moisture content being predicted with the maximum wet density of the soil showed a little difference between those and tested values. The values of the maximum dry density being predicted with the moisture content estimated by the maximum wet density of the soil were within the range of ±5% of its tested values.         한우, 칡소 및 제주 흑우 Calpain-Calpastatin 유전자 다양성

        The aim of study was to investigate genetic diversity for the calpain/calpastatin gene in three Hanwoo breeds [(Brown (n=62), Brindle (n=81) and Jeju Black (n=30)]. Random samples from three breeds of Hanwoo were selected and genotyped for the 7 SNPs of calpain/calpastatin using TaqMan method. Allele frequencies were investigated for CAPN1/CAST gene. Allele frequency of CAST2 SNP was 0.75, 0.59 and 0.22 for Brown, Brindle and Jeju black, respectively. The CAST3 revealed allele frequency of 0.59 and 0.57 in Brown and Jeju Black, while it showed very low allele frequency (0.07) in Brindle. In particular, favorable allele (G allele) for the CAPN1-2 SNP which was shown a strong association with tenderness in Taurine and Indicine cattle revealed 16% and 17% higher allele frequency in Brown Hanwoo (0.82) comparing Brindle (0.66) and Jeju Black Hanwoo (0.65). AMOVA demonstrated that among population variance occupied only 10% of total variance and among individual variance was 0%, while within individual variance was 90% of total variance. This result showed that population effect contributed very small portion of genetic to these three Hanwoo breeds, while within individual variance contributed large portion of genetic diversity within these Hanwoo breeds. In conclusion, three Hanwoo breeds (Brown, Brindle and Jeju black) showed a genetically homogeneous based on the 7 SNPs of CAPN1/CAST gene and it came from same ancestor to form modern Hanwoo breed.

      • 변압기 보호를 위한 Fuzzy Decision Making 알고리즘

        This paper presents a new fuzzy decision making algorithm for power transformer protection based on the Dempster-Shafer's theory of evidence. To distinguish internal faults from other transient states, four input variables are selected. Each time dependent fuzzy rule base is composed of twelve fuzzy if-then rules associated with their basic probability assignments (BPAs) for singleton - or compound-support hypotheses. Dempsters rule of combination is used to process the fuzzy rules and get the final decision. The proposed algorithm also has a capability to identify the inrush, over-excitation and external fault with current transformer (CT) saturation besides the internal fault.
