        To investigate the role of liver in the elimination of green tea catechins, the hepatic extraction ratio of epigallocatechin gallate, epigallocatechin, and epicatechin gallate was investigated following intraduodenal administration of green tea catechin extracts in Sprague-Dawley rats. The plasma concentrations of the catechins in portal and systemic circulations were determined simultaneously in the same rat to evaluate the hepatic extraction ratio. The values of hepatic extraction ratio of epigallocatechin gallate, epicatechin gallate, and epicatechin were 0.54, 0.28, and 0.51, respectively. Therefore, it is suggested that the hepatic clearance plays a major role in the elimination of epigallocatechin gallate and epicatechin.

      • 에어로빅스 운동시 부상 유발 동작의 운동 역학적 분석

        One of the reason that the aerobic dance is popular for korean women is that it is considered as a moderate aerobic exercise. However, high rate of aerobic dance related injuries have been reported among the participants. The purpose of this study was to estimate the impulsive load to the body while performing certain aerobic dance movement. Based on the preliminary questionairs on aerobic dance injury for 210 replyees, two aerobic dance movements including Run and High Kick were identified as high injury induced movements. The impulsive loads during aerobic dance estimated were joint angular acceleration and the vertical ground reaction force. The joint angular acceleration was determined using a 3-D cinematography technique, and the ground reaction force was measured with using an AMTI force platform system. It was founded that : the peak vertical ground reaction force 1738.7±171.2N, 1990.9±134.9N for Run, High Kick respectively. The peak vertical ground reaction force during High kick movement reached 3.7 body weight, which exceeded 3 body weight of force that can be experienced during jogging. These results indicates that although the aerobic dance movements look moderate means of exercise, certain movement ca produce highly impulsive look to the body and can aggravate injury when the movement is, kept repeated faster than the speed of healing process.

        The pharmcacokinetic study of epigallocatechin gallate was performed following iv bolus administration in Sprague-Dawley rats. The values of systemic clearance (CL) were 68±5 and 27±1 ml/min/kg following iv bolus administration of 1 mg and 5 mg EGCG, respectively. The values of volume of distribution at steady state were 380 and 835 ml/kg body weight after iv bolus administration 1mg and 5mg EGCG, respectively. The decrease in the value of CL and the increase of Vss as a function of dose suggest saturable pharmacokinetics of EGCG in rats.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the kinematic variables on take-off motion of the long jump. A typical high speed film analysis technique including DLT method was adapted to record and analyze total of eight long jumps performed by elite weman athletes at a track and field events. The following were found that: The relationship between take-off horizontal velocity and flight length was significantly related as r=0.6105 respectively at p<0.049 level. However, it was not possible to find the relationship between touch-down horizontal velocity and flight length. It was not possible to reveal the relationship between the touch-down vertical velocity, take-off vertical velocity and flight length. The relationship between take-off velocity and flight length was significantly related as r= 0.7080 respectively at p<0.025 level. However, it was not possible to find the relationship between touch-down velocity and flight length. The relationship between the body lean angle at take-off and flight length was significantly related as r=0.8468 respectively at p<0.004 level. However, it was not possible to find the relationship between the body lean angle at touch-down and flight length. And the relationship between the body COG height at take-off and flight length was significantly related as r=0.6583 respectively at p<0.038 level. However, it was not possible to find the relationship between the body COG height at touch-down and flight length. The relationship between the take off distance and flight length was significantly related as r= 0.7966 respectively at p<0.009 level. The relationship between the foot contact time and flight length was significantly related as r=0.6414 respectively at p<0.047 level.

        결절성 및 괴상성 간세포암에서 역동적 전산화단층촬영 소견에 따른 경동맥화학색전술결과의 예측

        Purpose: To evaluate retrospectively whether it is possible to predict the transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) result with the pre-TACE dynamic CT findings. Materials and Methods: The dynamic CT findings of 33 patients with 35 nodular and 8 massive hepatocellular carcinoma(HCCs) who was taken follow up CT after TACE, were reviewed retrospectively. After excluding the diffuse or infiltrative HCCs, the mass was classified into two groups of nodular and massive types. The size, location, degree of enhancement, pseudocapsule, portal vein(PV) thrombosis and arterioportal(AP) shunt were evaluated on the dynamic CT scans. The vascularity, multiple or parasitic blood supply, AP shunt and the possibility of superselection were considered on the angiography. After TACE, the pattern of lipiodol uptake and residual enhancing nodules were evaluated on the follow-up CT scans. Results: The good TACE results could be obtained in 18 of 35 nodular HCCs with dynamic CT findings of small size(mean=2.94cm), peripheral location, hyper-or iso-enhancement, and absence fo PV thrombosis, with angiographic finding of possible superselection, but the pseudocapsule did not give important effect on the result. Most of the massive HCCs had poor TACE results. Conclusion: The prediction of the TACE results of nodular and massive HCCs was possible with dynamic CT findings. If the good prognostic factors were not observed on the pre-TACE dynamic CT, the multiple TACE and/or combination therapy with percutaneous ethanol injection(PEI), surgical resection or others should be considered for the effective control of the HCCs.

      • 한국 무용 춤사위 중 외발서기 동작의 안정성 분석

        The purpose of this study was conducted to investigate the relationship the stability and the kinetic & kinematic variables in one-foot-stand of Korean Dance. The subject were eight females who were experienced 10 years in Korean Dance. Three dimentional coordination of the body segment parameters and kinematic variables were calculated by three dimentional cinematography using the the DLT (Direct Linear Transformation) method. The ground reaction force and stability in one-foot-stand motion were obtained from an AMTI force platform. The kinetic variables of the center of pressure and kinematic variables of the knee angle, hip angle, elbow angle, shoulder angle, trunk lean angle. horizontal thigh angle at the instant of touch down, 1st extension, 1st flextion, 2nd extension, 2nd flextion, stability were investigated. The conclusion obtained from the analyzed were as follow; The C.O.P displacement of the subjects was 1.21±0.71cm (n=50) during the stability phase in one-foot-stand motion of the Korean Dance. It is concluded that the somewhat greater left knee angle (147.8±12.4。), right knee angle (133.0±8.7。), left elbow angle (77.0±4.6。) and the trunk angle (15.8±5.4。) on the event of stability in the range of the subjects motion would result incresing the stability. And the somewhat less right hip angle (147.8±12.4。), right shoulder angle (104.4±4.7。), horizontal thigh angle (48.0±8.8。) on the event of stability in the range of the subjects motion were found to be important to improve the stability during one-foot-stand motion. The somewhat less 55% C.O.G hight (C.O.G height/height) were found to be important to improve the stability during stability phase in one-foot-stand motion of the Korean Dance.

      • 새로운 고속 EM 알고리즘

        본 논문에서는 여러 분야에 사용되는 EM(Expectation-Maximization)알고리즘의 초기치 설정 방법인 K-means의 문제점 해결을 통한 전체 반복 횟수를 줄이는 새로운 EM의 초기값 선정 방법을 제안한다. 이는, 데이터 분포 특성을 이용한 데이터 공간의 균일 분할에 의해, 기존 K-means의 랜덤한 초기값 선정 문제점을 해결함으로써 얻어지는 결과이다. 또한 본 논문은 EM 알고리즘의 초기값 선정 개선방법과 아울러, EM 과정의 핵심을 이루는 후행 확률(Posterior)의 의미를 부각하여 최대 가능성 후행 확률(Maximum Likelihood Posterior: MLP) 과정을 적용한 빠른 수렴특성의 새로운 EM알고리즘을 제안한다. 결과적으로, 새롭게 제안한 EM알고리즘은 기존의 EM 초기값 선정과 수렴에 대한 문제점을 개선함으로써, EM 알고리즘의 특성을 극대화시키는 방향으로 기존보다 더 향상된 결과를 가져온다. 제안된 알고리즘의 객관적 타당성을 위해 기존의 방법과 제안된 방법에 의한 시뮬레이션 결과를 비교 분석하였다.. In this paper, a new Fast Expectation-Maximization algorithm(FEM) is proposed. Firstly the K-means algorithm is modified to reduce the number of iterations for finding the initial values that are used as the initial values in EM process. Conventionally the initial values in K-means clustering are chosen randomly, which sometimes forces the process of clustering converge to some undesired center points. Uniform partitioning method is added to the conventional K-means to extract the proper initial points for each clusters. Secondly the effect of posterior probability is emphasized such that the application of Maximum Likelihood Posterior(MLP) yields fast convergence. The proposed FEM strengthens the characteristics of conventional EM by reinforcing the speed of convergence. Also the number of iteration of searching for the initial values is reduced in great amount, which removes the possibility of falling into local convergence additionally. The superiority of FEM is demonstrated in experimental results by presenting the reduction of iterations of searching for the central points of clustering groups for initial values of EM and accelerating the speed of convergence in parameter estimation procedures..

        In vitro model systems are increasingly used to investigate the mechanism of chemical-induced toxicity and for toxicological screening of new drug families. The effect of Ekongsan on the cytotoxicity induced by cisplatin on human and rabbit kidney cells was evaluated by tetrazolium-dye(MTT) assay. On the basis of Cl_50 value, cisplatin-induced cytotoxicity on human renal cortical cells was increased depend on concentration, whereas Ekongsan alone did not influence Simultaneous administration of cisplatin and Ekongsan, cytotoxicity of cisplain was reduced depend on the concentration of Ekongsan. With primary cultured proximal tubule cells results to reduce the cisplatin induced-cytotoxicity by Ekongsan was comparable to those with renal cortical cells. Based on these results, Ekongsan may has the potency to protect the nephrotoxicity induced by cisplatin.
