        푸른길 공원의 대기 환경 특성에 관한 연구

        Objectives: This study aimed to survey the characteristics of air quality and meteorological conditions in a greenway park. Methods: We measured meteorological and health related factors, including noise, particulate matter ($PM_{10}$) and selected gaseous air pollutants at three locations in a greenway park and on a general roadside as comparison. The measurements were repeated four times from April to October 2014. Results: The average air temperature in the greenway park was $20.7^{\circ}C$ which was $1-2^{\circ}C$ lower than on the general roadside. The average $PM_{10}$ concentration in the greenway park was $85.0{\mu}g/m^3$, a level 2-3 times lower than that at the roadside. The noise level at the greenway site was 4.4 dB(A)- 23.0 dB(A) lower than at the roadside. The average CO, $CO_2$, $SO_2$ and NOx concentrations in the greenway park were lower than at the roadside. The average phytoncide and anions concentrations in the greenway park were higher than at the roadside. Conclusions: The urban forest of the greenway park may have some impact on air quality and meteorological conditions.

        북한산국립공원의 계류수질 보전 전략(I)

        This study was conducted to investigate physicochemical property changes from July 1998 to August 2001 in Mt. Bukhansan National Park. Four water sampling points were selected to measure the quality of stream water in the northeastern part of the Mt. Bukhansan National Park. The results were summarized as follows; In spring, the average pH of stream water was below the first class of the river water quality standard, while it was normal level in summer. The average electrical conductivity was about 2.3~3.3 times higher in downstream water than in upstream water during spring and summer. The contents of anions($Cl^-$, $NO{_3}^-$, $SO{_4}^{2-}$) were about 1.1~7.4 and 0.4~11.4 times higher in downstream than in upstream water, respectively. These results indicate that water quality was poorer in downstream than in upstream water. We suggest that stream water in the Mt. Bukhansan National Park should be protected from impacts of snow melting mineral particles in spring season and human impacts like wastewater of point source in summer season.

      • Analysis of Genetic Diversity of Korean Wheat Cultivars Using Microsatellite DNA Polymorphisms

        Genetic background and phylogenetic relationships among 20 Korean wheat cultivars were assessed using microsatellites after amplifying with 13 SSR primer pairs. Average allele number per primer pair was 3.36. Genetic similarities for every pair of cultivars ranged from 0.42 to 0.97, with 0.69 of overall average. Korean cultivars were divided into two major groups based on microsatellite DNA polymorphisms. Group I consisted of relatively old cultivars developed until 1970s, and group II contained the recent cultivars developed during 1980s and 1990s. Amongst old elite cultivars/lines, ‘Yukseung 3’, ‘Norin 12’ and ‘Norin 72’ contributed most to the genetic background of cultivars belonging to group I, and ‘Norin 4’, ‘Norin 12’, ‘Norin 43’ and ‘Norin 72’ to group II, respectively. The phylogenetic relationship of Korean wheat cultivars was in accordance with the genealogical data of each cultivar. The genetic background of each cultivar was assessed from the point of breeding and germplasm management such as variety identification and duplicated accessions for assisting in developing a system for the registration of new variety based on the molecular characterization in future.

        Case Report : Improved severe hepatopulmonary syndrome after Liver transplantation in an adolescent with end-stage Liver disease secondary to biliary atresia

        Hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is a serious complication of end-stage liver disease, which is characterized by hypoxia, intrapulmonary vascular dilatation, and liver cirrhosis. Liver transplantation (LT) is the only curative treatment modality for patients with HPS. However, morbidity and mortality after LT, especially in cases of severe HPS, remain high. This case report describes a patient with typical findings of an extracardiac pulmonary arteriovenous shunt on contrast-enhanced transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and clubbing fingers, who had complete correction of HPS by deceased donor LT. The patient was a 16-year-old female who was born with biliary atresia and underwent porto-enterostomy on the 55th day after birth. She had been suffered from progressive liver failure with dyspnea, clubbing fingers, and cyanosis. Preoperative arterial blood gas analysis revealed severe hypoxia (arterial O2 tension of 54.5 mmHg and O2 saturation of 84.2%). Contrast-enhanced TEE revealed an extracardiac right-to-left shunt, which suggested an intrapulmonary arteriovenous shunt. The patient recovered successfully after LT, not only with respect to physical parameters but also for pychosocial activity, including school performance, during the 30-month follow-up period.         음향방출 파형 파라미터 필터링 기법을 이용한 실시간 음원 분류

        음향방출기법은 대형 구조물의 구조건전성감시(SHM)를 위한 매우 효율적인 방법이지만, 롤러코스터 지지구조물처럼 승용물의 운행으로 인한 매우 큰 잡음이 일상적으로 존재하는 경우에는 균열 진전 신호만을 분류하여 실시간 감시를 수행하기가 쉽지 않다. 이와 같은 문제의 해결을 위해 본 연구에서는 실시간으로 음원의 분류가 가능한 파형 파라미터 필터링 기법을 제안하였다. 파형 파라미터 필터링 기법은 음향방출 신호의 파형 파라미터를 이용하여 음향방출 히트를 사전에 필터링함으로써 실시간으로 감시하고자 하는 대상 음원만을 분류해내는데 매우 유리한 점이 있다. 다양한 음원에 대해 음향방출 파형 파라미터를 측정 및 분석하여 제안한 기법의 타당성을 살펴보았다. 또한, 파형 파라미터 필터가 내장된 음향 방출 시스템을 구축하고 이를 실제 롤러코스터 지지구조물에 적용하여 실시간 균열진전 감시를 위한 가능성을 타진하였다. The acoustic emission(AE) technique is a well established method to carry out structural health monitoring(SHM) of large structures. However, the real-time monitoring of the crack growth in the roller coaster support structures is not easy since the vehicle operation produces very large noise as well as crack growth. In this investigation, we present the waveform parameter filtering method to classify acoustic sources in real-time. This method filtrates only the AE hits by the target acoustic source as passing hits in a specific parameter band. According to various acoustic sources, the waveform parameters were measured and analyzed to verify the present filtering method. Also, the AE system employing the waveform parameter filter was manufactured and applied to the roller coaster support structure in an actual amusement park.

      • 월아산 근린공원의 식생구조와 동태

        The objectives of this study was to investigate the vegetation structure and dynamics in the urban neighborhood park of Mt. Weola. The results obtained were as follows; 1. The woody plants of 18 species are distributed in upper story. By importance value, the upper story was dominated in the order of Pinus densiflora, Qoercus variabilis, Robinia pseudoacacia, Platycarya strobilacea, Alnus firma, Quercus aliena, Carpinus laxiflora. 2. In middle story is formed by 23 species with dominated in the order of Rhus trichocarpa, Prunus sargentii, Quercus variabilis, Platycarya strobilacea, Carpinus laxiflora, Quercus serrata by importance value. 3. 68 species is forming the upper story. Importance values of dominated species was in the order of Rhus trichocarpa, Indigofera kirilowii, Lesdedeza bicolor, Quercus variabilis, Smilax china, Lindera glauca. 4. 78 species is distributed in herbaceous story. And, importance value was high in the order of Oplismenus undulatifolius, Carex siderosticta, Disporum smilacinum, Phryma leptostachya var. asiatica, Paederia scandens, Carex humilis, Spodiopogon sibiricus. 5. The species diversity and evenness in each story were 0.751 and 0.598 for upper story, 0.473 and 0.347 for middle story, 1.429 and 0.794 for lower story and 1.125 and 0.594 for herbaceous story, respectively.

        Clinical Significance of Classification of Graves` Disease According to the Characteristics of TSH receptor Antibodies

        N/A Background:It has been widely accepted that the epitope (s) and/or functional characteristics of thyrotropin receptor antibodies (TSHRAb) from Graves` patients are heterogenous among patients. However, the clinical significance of such heterogeneity has not been systematically evaluatedyet. We were to elucidate and find the clinical significance of heterogeneity for TSH receptor antibodies in Graves` disease. Methods:We measured stimulating TSHRAb (TSAb) activities using CHO-hTSHR cells, FRTL-5 cells and chimeric receptor expressing cells (Mc1+2 and Mc2), specific blocking TSHRAb (TSBAb) activities using Mc2 cells and TBII activities using porcine thyroid membrane in 136 patients with untreated hyperthyroid Graves` disease. Results: Based on various TSHRAb activities from each patient, the patients could be categorized into 7 subgroups by cluster analysis; 1) Group 1 (n=41) was characterized by moderate TSAb activities bothin CHO-hTSHR cells and in FRTL-5 cells, typical TSAb epitope, rare blocking antibodies and high TBII activities. 2) Group 2 (n=16) was characterized by the presence of blocking TSHRAb in most patients, albeit the other characteristics were the same as those in Group 1. 3) Group 3 (n=19) patients had low TSAb activities bothin CHO-hTSHR cells and in FRTL-5 cells, seldom had blocking TSHRAb, but they had high TBII activities. 4) Group 4 (n=30) could be categorized as `mild disease` group, as they had low activities in all kinds of TSHRAb assay and had low antim icrosomal antibody activities. 5) Group 5 (n=14) was characterized by moderate TSAb activities with atypical epitope (s), rare blocking TSHRAb and moderate TBII activities. 6) Group 6 (n=10) patients had veryhigh TSAb activities with typical epitopes, seldom blocking TSHRAb and low TBII activities. 7) Group 7 (n=6) was characterized by very high TSAb activities with atypical epitopes and high TBII activities. Pretreatment serum thyroid hormone level was low only in group 4 patients compared to the other 6 groups (p<0.05). The size of goiter was significantly larger in those in group 1 and group 3 (p<0.05) compared to the other 5 groups. The prevalence of clinically significant ophthalmopathy was higher in group 2 patients than the other 6 groups (50%vs.27.5%,p=0.06). Among 6 kinds of TSHRAb activities, only the blocking TSHRAb activity was significantly associated with the presence of ophthalmopathy in multivariate analysis. Conclusion:These results suggest that the differences inepitopes for TSAb or the presence of blocking TSHRAb is not a major factor in determining the degree of thyrotoxicosis in Graves` disease. Although the pathogenic mechanism is not clearyet, we suggest that patients with ophthalmopathy have different TSHRAb repertoire from those without ophthalmopathy in Graves` disease.

        Distribution of the Fairy Pitta (Pitta nympha) in the South Korea: A focus on protected areas

        국내 팔색조(Pitta nympha) 분포 현황을 알아보고자 전국 국립공원 등 보호지역 중심으로 총 19개 지역을 조사하였고, 전문가 네트워크를 통해 자료를 보강하였다. 전국 19개 지역을 조사한 결과 북한산, 지리산 등 내륙지역 7개 국립공원에서는 팔색조가 확인되지 않았고, 경남 거제, 남해, 해남, 장흥 고흥 등 남해안과 인접한 12개 지역에서 팔색조 서식이 확인되었다. 또한 전문가 네트워크를 통해 수집한 팔색조 출현 위치 정보 82건을 분석한 결과, 전국 8개 광역지자체 모두 팔색조 서식이 확인되었고, 내륙지역(26.8%)보다 해안지역(73.2%)에서 더 많이 출현하였다. 연구 결과를 종합해보면, 우리나라의 팔색조는 주로 제주도와 남해안 지역을 중심으로 많이 분포하며, 그 보다 적은 개체수가 내륙 지역에 넓게 분포하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. The present study investigated the current distribution of Fairy Pitta (Pitta nympha) in South Korea. A total of 19 study areas, including protected areas such as national and provincial parks in South Korea were surveyed, and additional data obtained from an expert network. According to the results, Fairy Pitta was absent in seven inland national parks, including Mt. Bukhan and Chiri parks. Fairy Pitta inhabited 12 areas near the southern coast of South Korea, including Geoje, Namhae, Haenam, Jangheung, Goheung, and Gyeongnam Province. The analysis results of 82 datasets obtained from experts with regard to the locations where Fairy Pitta have been spotted showed that the bird inhabits all the eight metropolitan regions in South Korea, and is more frequently spotted in coastal areas (73.2%) than in inland areas (26.8%). The findings demonstrate that Fairy Pitta is mainly distributed in Jeju Island and the southern coast of South Korea, and is distributed in inland areas at relatively lower numbers.

      • Protein kinase A-induced phosphorylation at the Thr154 affects stability of DJ-1

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Introduction</B></P> <P>Most cases of Parkinson's disease (PD) are sporadic, but genetic variations have been discovered in PD patients. PARK7/DJ-1 is a known cause of early-onset autosomal-recessive PD and is implicated in neuroprotection against oxidative stress. Although several post-translational modifications of DJ-1 have been proposed, phospho-modification of DJ-1 and its functional consequences have been less studied.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>Putative phosphorylation sites of DJ-1 were determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS analysis). Subsequently, phosphorylation site of DJ-1 was confirmed by <I>in vitro</I> kinase assay and cell-based pull-down assay. Impaired dimer formation of phospho-null mutant was measured using DSS crosslinking assay and immunoprecipitation assay. To evaluate physiological consequences of this event, protein stability of DJ-1 WT and DJ-1 phospho-null mutant were compared using cycloheximide chase assay and ubiquitination assay.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>Here, we showed that DJ-1 directly bound to the catalytic subunit of protein kinase A (PKAcα). We found that PKAcα is responsible for phosphorylation of DJ-1 at the T154 residue. Interestingly, dimerization of DJ-1 was not detected in a DJ-1 T154A mutant. Furthermore, stability of the DJ-1 T154A mutant was dramatically reduced compared with that of wild-type DJ-1. We found that DJ-1 T154A was prone to degradation by the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS).</P> <P><B>Conclusion</B></P> <P>We identified a novel phosphorylation site of DJ-1. Furthermore, we determined protein kinase A that is responsible for this posttranslational modification. Finally, we demonstrated physiological consequences of this event focusing on dimerization and protein stability of DJ-1.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> PKAcα phosphorylates PARK7/DJ1 at the Thr154 residue. </LI> <LI> Disruption of Thr154 phosphorylation is linked to a lower stability. </LI> </UL> </P>
