서문자,한경자,최명애,김정은,홍경자,박성애,이명선 서울대학교 간호대학 간호과학연구소 1999 간호학 논문집 Vol.11 No.2
The purpose of this study was to explore how to access nuring information using computer and other softwares. It described the ways to reach and get the database on abstracts of masters' and doctoral dissertations in nursing and medicine in Korea. It also provided the ways to get nursing related database around the world, such as Medline, using internet search tools. Internet search tools included databases and their themes and unique characteristics. In addition, the study illustrated the ways to use netscape navigator using LAN or modem and to use CINAHL-CD-Rom title which is commonly utilized in nursing. The results of this study might help nurses and nursing scholars efficiently access the needed information and database which can be utilized in education and research areas.

Running title: Cases of anesthesia for extremely low birth weight infant. Extremely low birth weight infants (birth weight < 1000 g) are prone to various morbidities such as respiratory distress syndrome, intraventricular hemorrhage, periventricular leukomalacia, patent ductus arteriosus, necrotizing enterocolitis and retinopathy. To accomplish successful anesthetic management, many precautions must be continuously taken during the operation. First, inspired oxygen concentration should be adjusted to avoid oxygen toxicity. Second, body temperature must be maintained adequately. Third, hemodynamic parameters should be kept stable. We report 2 cases of successful anesthetic management for extremely low birth weight infant who underwent ligation of patent ductus arteriosus at the neonatal intensive care unit.
Large-scale functional brain networks for consciousness
Myoung-Eun Han,Si-Young Park,Sae-Ock Oh 대한해부학회 2021 Anatomy & Cell Biology Vol.54 No.2
The generation and maintenance of consciousness are fundamental but difficult subjects in the fields of psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, and medicine. However, recent developments in neuro-imaging techniques coupled with network analysis have greatly advanced our understanding of consciousness. The present review focuses on large-scale functional brain networks based on neuro-imaging data to explain the awareness (contents) and wakefulness of consciousness. Despite limitations, neuroimaging data suggests brain maps for important psychological and cognitive processes such as attention, language, self-referential, emotion, motivation, social behavior, and wakefulness. We considered a review of these advancements would provide new insights into research on the neural correlates of consciousness.

<P>Gastric cancer is the second most common cause of cancer deaths worldwide. The underlying molecular mechanisms of its carcinogenesis are relatively poorly characterized. Hedgehog (Hh) signaling, which is critical for development of various organs including the gastrointestinal tract, has been associated with gastric cancer. The present study was undertaken to reveal the underlying mechanism by which Hh signaling controls gastric cancer cell proliferation. Treatment of gastric cancer cells with cyclopamine, a specific inhibitor of Hh signaling pathway, reduced proliferation and induced apoptosis of gastric cancer cells. Cyclopamine treatment induced cytochrome c release from mitochondria and cleavage of caspase 9. Moreover, Bcl-2 expression was significantly reduced by cyclopamine treatment. These results suggest that Hh signaling regulates the survival of gastric cancer cells by regulating the expression of Bcl-2.</P>
Development of an aptamer-conjugated fluorescent nanoprobe for MMP2

<P>Matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2) plays critical roles in various diseases, such as atherosclerosis and cancer, and has been suggested to contribute to the instability of atherosclerotic plaque. To visualize MMP2 in pathologic tissues, we developed an aptamer targeting MMP2 protein by performing eight rounds of modified DNA systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX). The aptamer showed high affinity for MMP2 (<I>K</I>d = 5.59 nM), precipitated MMP2, and detected MMP2 protein in pathological tissues such as atherosclerotic plaque and gastric cancer tissues. Furthermore, a MMP2 aptamer-conjugated fluorescent nanoprobe successfully visualized atherosclerotic plaques in apolipoprotein E (ApoE) knockout mice. These results suggest that the devised MMP2 aptamer could be useful for the development of various diagnostic tools.</P>
Gastric stem cells and gastric cancer stem cells
Myoung-Eun Han,Sae-Ock Oh 대한해부학회 2013 Anatomy & Cell Biology Vol.46 No.1
The gastric epithelium is continuously regenerated by gastric stem cells, which give rise to various kinds of daughter cells, including parietal cells, chief cells, surface mucous cells, mucous neck cells, and enteroendocrine cells. The self-renewal and differentiation of gastric stem cells need delicate regulation to maintain the normal physiology of the stomach. Recently, it was hypothesized that cancer stem cells drive the cancer growth and metastasis. In contrast to conventional clonal evolution hypothesis, only cancer stem cells can initiate tumor formation, self-renew, and differentiate into various kinds of daughter cells. Because gastric cancer can originate from gastric stem cells and their self-renewal mechanism can be used by gastric cancer stem cells, we review here how critical signaling pathways, including hedgehog, Wnt, Notch, epidermal growth factor, and bone morphogenetic protein signaling, may regulate the self-renewal and differentiation of gastric stem cells and gastric cancer stem cells. In addition, the precancerous change of the gastric epithelium and the status of isolating gastric cancer stem cells from patients are reviewed.
