      • The Impact of Transformational Leadership and Transactional Leadership on Voice Behavior and Creative Behavior through Job Crafting

        Purpose - In the face of an increasingly competitive business environment and the growing complexity and dynamism of work activities, employee voice and creative behaviors are essential to organizational growth and survival. Consequently, this study examines how to increase voice and creative behaviors in organizational life using transformational leadership and transactional leadership as the entry points, and selecting job crafting as the mediating variable. Design/Methodology/Approach - A hypothesized model was developed to examine the relationship between the constructs. The sample for the study comprised 364 Chinese employees. Data were analyzed using SPSS and structural equation modelling in AMOS. Findings - Transformational leadership and transactional leadership positively impact job crafting, voice behavior, and creative behavior, complementing the existing theory. Furthermore, this study finds that through job crafting, transformational leadership has an enhanced impact on voice and creative behaviors. Research Implications - Transformational leadership and transactional leadership are two separate and complementary types of leadership. Therefore, organizations should develop leaders that can flexibly use both styles to improve leadership effectiveness. Furthermore, the organization should pay more attention to employee job crafting, voice behavior, and creative behavior. Organizations or supervisors should appropriately grant employees work autonomy to respond to the rapidly changing external environment.

        조선 세 중신(重臣)의 심양(瀋陽) 구류와 교유 ― 김상헌(金尙憲)·최명길(崔鳴吉)·이경여(李敬輿)의 경험

        청나라 수도 瀋陽에는 병자호란 이후 조선에서 잡혀 온 포로와 인질, 분주히 오가는 사신들이 머물렀다. 침략과 패배를 겪은 조선인에게는 특수하고 복합적인 감정을 불러일으키는 공간이었다. 본고에서는 심양에 억류되었던 조선의 세 重臣인 김상헌, 최명길, 이경여를 중심으로 심양살이의 실제와 의미를 살펴보았다. 특히 ‘척화(=항전)와 주화’의 당사자들이 심양에서 같은 곳에 구금되어 서로 이해하고, 그 경험이 이어지는 과정에 주목하였다. 심양은 치욕과 분노의 공간이기도 했지만, 현실에서 아무것도 할 수 없는 시간은 서로의 마음만 쳐다볼 수 있는 시간이 되기도 하였다. 병자호란 전후의 노선을 ‘經權’의 관점에서 풀었던 김상헌과 최명길은 심양 구금 생활을 통해 오해를 풀고 정당성을 얻었다. 여기에 이경여도 간여하면서, 현실 대응이 달랐을 뿐 명분과 지향은 같았다는 인식에 도달하였다. 심양의 경험은 이후 송시열, 남구만, 이민서, 김수항, 김수증 등 세 중신의 후손이자, 조선의 정치-사상계의 주역들에게 전해졌다. 김상헌은 의리의 표상을 굳건히 하였고, 최명길은 한켠의 의심을 씻고 나라를 구한 공을 인정받았으며, 이경여는 온후함으로 이들 사이의 지렛대가 되었고 復讐雪恥의 또 다른 기둥으로 떠올랐다. 심양의 영향은 이들 중신 집안의 혼인과 교유에서 나타났다. 그러나 己巳士禍와 갑술환국을 거치면서 심양의 경험과 기억은 파탄났다. 최명길의 손자 최석정이 김수항의 賜死를 주도했던 오시수 등을 천거하여 등용한 일이었다. 김수항의 아들 김창협, 김창흡은 최석정에게 절교 편지를 보냈다. 이 절교는 20여 년 뒤 최명길의 손자 최석항이 앞장서서 김상헌의 증손자 김창집 등과 이경여의 손자 이건명, 이이명 등을 무고하게 죽이는 신임사화에서 더 악화된 모습으로 재현되었다. Shenyang, the capital of Qing China, was the place of the captives, hostages, and envoys of Choson after the Qing Invasion in 1636. For the people of Choson who defeated Shenyang was also the place of complex sentiments with indignity and dishonor. I studied the life and reconciliation of the three persons of Choson who did a leading role at the dispute during the Namhan-fortress resistance and were interned in Shenyang one by one. Kim Sang-heon, Choi Myeong-gil and Yi Kyeong-yeo were transferred and imprisoned with different reasons and times each other. For them Shenyang was the place of rage and resentment and the chance to reflect the idea of the others because of the time of unable. The conflict between the cause and response could resolve in this time. The experience of Shenyang prison transferred and reminded Song Si-yeol, Nam Gu-man, Yi Min-seo, Kim Su-hang who were their descendants and followers with positive memories strengthening the representative of Kim Sang-heon of the cause in the resistance 1636, recognizing the merit of the negotiation of Choi Myeong-gil, endowing the new face to Yi Kyeong-yeo. The experience appeared in marriages and relationship among them. However the favorable relationship was ruined in the course of the calamity of literati in 1689. After the restoration of 1694 Choi Seok-jeong, a grandson of Choi Myeong-gil, recommended Oh Si-su, Yi Seo-wu etc. who insisted the death penalty on Kim Su-hang, a grandson of Kim Sang-heon, and Yi Sa-myeong, a grandson of Yi Kyeong-yeo in 1689. Kim Chang-hyeop and Kim Chang-heop sent a letter breaking off friendship. The break in 1698 resulted in the disastrous false accusation and oppression of the Soron to the Noron in 1721~1722.

        Effect of nutritional factors on the accretion of secondary metabolites in Malaysian ginseng adventitious root cultures

        In this study, we aimed to verify the effect of nutritional factors on the accretion of secondary metabolites in the adventitious root (AR) cultures of Malaysian ginseng (Eurycoma longifolia Jack) grown in small-scale bioreactors. AR were induced from leaf explants and cultured in different types of media including Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium, Driver Kuniyuki Walnut (DKW) medium, Gamborg’s B5 medium, Woody Plant Medium (WPM), and ¾ MS medium. Among these media, the MS and Gamborg’s B5 media induced lateral root development from initial inoculum, which accounted for the increase in AR biomass accretion. By contrast, the DKW and WPM media did not induce lateral root formation from the cultured explants. The ¾ MS medium was optimal for the growth of AR and accretion of secondary metabolites, after 7 weeks of culture, the biomass of AR increased by 8.6-fold in ¾ MS medium, and the total phenolic and flavonoid contents reached 5.23 and 2 mg g−1 of tissue dry weight, respectively. Analysis of mineral elements in the spent medium revealed that ¾ MS medium was most suitable for nutrient supply to developing AR. LC–MS analysis showed the accretion of eurycomanone, a therapeutically useful metabolite, in the AR of Malaysian ginseng.

        Strong adsorption of arsenic species by amorphous zirconium oxide nanoparticles

        A novel oxide adsorbent of amorphous zirconium oxide (am-ZrO2) nanoparticles was synthesized by a simple hydrothermal process for effective arsenic removal from aqueous environment. Due to their high specific surface area (327.1 m2/g), large mesopore volume (0.68 cm3/g), and the presence of high affinity surface hydroxyl groups, am-ZrO2 nanoparticles demonstrated exceptional adsorption performance on both As(III) (arsenite) and As(V) (arsenate) without pre-treatment at near neutral condition. At pH ~ 7,the adsorption kinetic is fast and the adsorption capacity is high (over 83 mg/g for As(III) and over 32.4 mg/g for As(V), respectively). Under low equilibrium arsenic concentrations (Ce at 0.01 mg/L, the maximum contaminant level (MCL) for arsenic in drinking water), the amount of arsenic adsorbed by am-ZrO2 nanoparticles is over 0.92 mg/g for As(III) and over 5.2 mg/g for As(V), respectively. The adsorption mechanism of arsenic species onto am-ZrO2 nanoparticles was found to follow the inner-sphere complex mechanism. Testing with arsenic contaminated natural lake water confirmed the effectiveness of these am-ZrO2 nanoparticles in removing arsenic from natural water. The immobilized am-ZrO2 nanoparticles on glass fiber cloth demonstrated an even better arsenic removal performance than dispersed am-ZrO2nanoparticles in water, paving the way for their potential applications in water treatment facility to treat arsenic contaminated water body without pre-treatment. 2012 The Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry.         Metagenomic analysis suggests unique gut‐microbiota composition and GH family constitution of Macrotermes annandalei

        Energy supply is a major concern of human survival and development, and that concern demands new sources of renewable clean energy. Cellulose, as a renewable energy material is affected by low activity and high cost of cellulose. Studies of cellulose degrading bacterial microbiota in insect intestine have revealed that these potential microbes can be used as a rich resource of cellulose degrading strains. Here, the present study involves metagenomic sequencing of intestinal microbes of Macrotermes annandalei by Illumina PE150 and a total of 401,190 scaftigs were obtained. Open Reading frame (ORF) species annotation showed that the largest proportion of them belong to the phylum of Bacteroides, followed by Protobacteia, Firmicutes and Mucoromycota. Mapping to the CAZy database indicates that 4,539 genes encoding of glycoside hydrolase belongs to 109 distinct CAZy families. The results provide a theoretical basis for exploring new candidate bacteria for efficient cellulose degradation to obtain high cellulose resource yield.

        The Influence of Environmental Concern and Green Fashion Advertisements on Consumer Behavior: Chinese vs. Korean

        Recently, issues on the environment, which have become key bottlenecks relative to sustainable economic development, have generated common concern. However, relatively scant research has been devoted to consideration of relations between consumers’ environmental concern, green fashion advertisement value, and green consumption. In this study, using structural equation modeling (SEM), effects of environmental concern, perceived green fashion advertisement value, and attitude towards green fashion advertisements, on ecological purchases and their interrelationships are investigated. A model is constructed to link aforementioned constructs. Data, was collected through a questionnaire-based online survey (www.sojump.com) of 260 Korean consumers and 260 Chinese consumers. Findings suggest that environmental concern can improve their perception of green advertisement value. One of the findings showed strong positive relationship among green advertisement value, positive attitude, and purchase intention towards green fashion advertisement, while environmental concern negatively influenced their attitude towards green fashion advertisements. It suggests that if companies adopt green advertising strategies, environmentally-conscious consumers are willing to pay more, to purchase green fashion goods in to satisfy their needs. We should put more effort in educating consumers about environmental issues, to raise the level of environmental awareness and satisfy their concerns relative to green fashion goods. Conversely, there is significant positive relationship with the moderating effect of consumers’ nationality in all paths, so results above would make significant contributions to green literature, and would also contribute to advertisement strategy implications as well. Especially fashion marketers, an use accurate and fair environmental claims in their advertisements to increase sale and profits.

        Anti-Progressive Collapse Performance of Fully Bolted Steel Frame Structure Connections Based on Performance Improvement

        This paper presents a study on the performance of two types of fully bolted connections in relation to progressive collapse. Two specimens were specifi cally designed and fabricated to represent these connections. One specimen utilized the traditional double web angle connection (DWA), while the other employed a new type of connector, resulting in a new fully bolted connection (NFB). The study thoroughly investigated various aspects of the specimens, including failure modes, load–displacement responses, and resistance mechanisms. The fi ndings revealed that the fl exural behavior and ultimate behavior of the NFB connection were superior to those of the DWA connection, particularly in terms of fl exural behavior. However, the rotational behavior of the NFB connection was slightly inferior to that of the DWA connection. Additionally, refi ned numerical models were used to simulate the failure modes and load–displacement responses of both connections, and a strong correlation was observed between the test results and the numerical analysis. Furthermore, a parametric analysis of the NFB connection was conducted, leading to the discovery that modifying the structural type of the new connector, specifi cally adjusting the form of part C from fl ush to extended, was the most eff ective measure for enhancing the anti-progressive collapse capacity of the NFB connection. Moreover, the rotational capacity and ultimate load-carrying capacity of the NFB connection could be improved by adjusting the thickness of the new connector and increasing the diameter of the bolts within the steel beam.

        Effect of Freeze-Thaw Cycles on Dynamic Characteristics of Undisturbed Silty Clay

        We conducted dynamic triaxial tests of undisturbed soil samples under different control parameters using the Global Digital Systems (GDS) dynamic triaxial instrument. We investigated the dynamic and engineering characteristics of undisturbed soil under a freeze–thaw cycle. When the dynamic load amplitude and the number of freeze–thaw cycles were adjusted, we explored the cumulative plastic strain, dynamic elastic modulus, and dynamic strength of undisturbed soil, and we then proposed appropriate fitting formulae to compute the cumulative plastic strain, dynamic elastic modulus, and dynamic strength. The findings revealed that as the number of freeze–thaw cycles increased, the cumulative plastic strain grew, the dynamic strength progressively fell, and the dynamic elastic modulus dropped first, but then increased. The critical physical and dynamic features of soil changed dramatically during one to six freeze–thaw cycles. This study’s suggested formula for the average growth ratio can directly reflect the cumulative plastic strain fluctuation of soil throughout freeze–thaw cycles. The formula has a good fitting effect on undisturbed soil, according to the test findings, and the accumulative plastic strain, dynamic elastic modulus, and dynamic strength may be computed within a specified range. The findings of this study contribute to a better understanding of the effect of the freeze–thaw cycle on the dynamic characteristics of undisturbed silty clay, as well as a theoretical foundation for the design and construction of silty clay highway subgrade in seasonally frozen regions as well as the dynamic analysis of vehicle simulation in seasonally frozen regions.

        Mechanical properties and neural network prediction of cement fly ash-enhanced roadbed soil in seasonal frozen zones under short-term curing

        The freezing and thawing of roadbed soils in seasonal frozen zones can cause uneven settlement and other road problems, which puts road operation at risk. This paper focuses on the rapid construction of expressways and analyzes the effects of using fly ash and cement as modifiers on the physical properties and chemical composition of subgrade soil. The study found that cement admixtures can improve soil mechanical attributes and frost resistance, while also increasing the degree of fly ash hydration.And the freeze-thaw cycle process can enhance the mechanical characteristics of soils with higher cement admixture content. This is due to the development of hydrates in cement fly ash-enhanced soils during freeze?thaw cycles, resulting in a denser interior structure. The use of neural network prediction analysis showed that using ANN4-10-3 to forecast soil mechanical property parameters can produce superior results. Therefore, it is recommended to use cement fly ash-enhanced soil for roadbed construction in seasonal freezing areas, and neural network can be used to predict soil mechanical parameters.
