이득 선폭이 넓고 가공이 쉬원 고출력 제이저의 증폭 이득 매질로 유리한 Nd:glass 이득 매질의 소신호 이득 계수를 측정하고 이 Nd:glass를 이용하여 제작한 cavity-dumping형 레이저의 출력 특성을 조사하였다. 소신호 이득 계수를 측정하기 위해 Nd:glass, Pockels cell, 편광분할기 등을 포함하는 공진기를 구성하였으며, 측정된 소신호 이극 계수는 전기 입력 에너지가 100J일 때 $0.088 cm_{-1}$ 공진기의 왕복 내부 손실은 56%였다. Cavity-dumping형 레이저 공진기는 곡률반경이 2m인 두개의 전반사경과 Nd:glass, Pickels cell, 편광분할기, $\lambda/4$ plate 등으로 구성되었으며 제작된 레이저의 출력 에너지는 전기 입력 에너지가 140J일 때, 최대 0.85J이었고 출력 레이저 펄스폭은 8ns였다. A small signal gain coefficient of Nd:glass was measured and a cavity-dumped laser was constructed. To measure the small signal gain coefficient, we constructed a resonator consisting of Nd:glass, Pockels cell, polarizing beam splitter. The measured small signal gain coefficient was $0.088 cm_{-1}$ when the input energy was 100 J and the round-trip internal loss of the resonator was 56%. The cavity-dumped laser was constructed using Nd:glass. 2 m radius of curvature HR-mirrors, Pockels cell, polarizinig beam splitter and $\lambda/4$ plate. The output energy of cavity-dumped laser was 0.85 J at 140 J input energy and the laser pulse width was 8 ns.s 8 ns.
High-power Q-switched Rod-type Photonic-crystal-fiber Laser with Linear Polarization

We have developed a high-power Q-switched laser based on a ytterbium-doped rod-type photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with a 100-µm core size. Thanks to the big core size and the high pump absorption of the rod-type PCF, energetic high-peak-power laser pulses can be generated from a short-length Q-switched rod-type PCF laser. The maximal pulse energy is 3.3 mJ with a pulse duration of 13 ns, yielding a 0.25-MW peak power, and the maximal average power is more than 250 W at a high repetition rate of 150 kHz. With a polarizer installed inside the laser cavity, a high degree of linear polarization is achieved even at the maximal output energy.
