The purpose of this study was to evaluate the condensation prevention performance around the apartment built-in furniture applying vent-type moldings. Recently, condensation and mold problems in apartments have been growing due to the high thermal insulation and air-tightness for energy saving. The considerable amount of moisture generated by various indoor activities such as drying clothes, cooking, and taking a shower in a living space is more likely to cause condensation in apartments, and thus spaces fitted with built-in furnitures are exposed to condensation more frequently. In this study, thermal environment around the built-in furniture with vent-type moldings was measured in actual apartment from January 3 to March 5, 2019, in order to find out the location of vents effective for preventing condensation. As results, the condensation prevention performance was better when the vents were placed on both the bottom and side or both the top and bottom of the front moldings than on the back board of the built-in furniture. The proposed design will be useful to mitigate condensation in spaces fitted with built-in furnitures.

Objective : To investigate intervention methods and effects of Reminiscence Therapy using digital media that can be applied to persons with dementia. Methods : In this study, 6 of studies were selected according to the selection criteria using RISS and Pubmed databases. As search terms were "dementia" AND "reminiscence therapy" in Korean and "dementia" AND "reminiscence therapy" AND "media" OR "digital" OR "app" in English. The studies to be analyzed were classified according to the research-based qualitative level analysis model and summarized as PICO. Results : 6 of studies consists of 1 study each in 2015, 2016, and 2020, and 3 studies in 2021. Various digital media such as tablet, digital software, digital video, and VR devices were applied to the intervention. The effect of reducing depression, improving quality of life, and cognitive function was confirmed the most. As for the evaluation tool, MMSE was most commonly used. Conclusions : Reminiscence Therapy using a tablet and digital software were used, and there were effects such as reduction of depression and improvement of quality of life. Based on these results, it is expected that future research will actively conduct comparative research on which digital media is more effective when applied to Reminiscence Therapy.
Distinct features of dendritic cell-based immunotherapy as cancer vaccines
이채린,이명미,이인무 대한백신학회 2018 Clinical and Experimental Vaccine Research Vol.7 No.1
Dendritic cells (DCs) are the most professional antigen presenting cells that play important roles in connection between innate and adaptive immune responses. Numerous studies revealed that the functions of DCs are related with the capture and processing of antigen as well as the migration to lymphoid tissues for the presenting antigens to T cells. These unique features of DCs allow them to be considered as therapeutic vaccines that can induce immune responses and anti-tumor activity. Here, we discuss and understand the immunological basis of DCs and presume the possibilities of DC-based vaccines for the promising cancer therapy.

Purpose Epidermal growth factor receptor kinase domain duplication (EGFR-KDD) is a rare and poorly understood oncogenic mutation in non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We aimed to investigate the acquired resistance mechanism of EGFR-KDD against EGFR-TKIs. Materials and Methods We identified EGFR-KDD in tumor tissue obtained from a patient with stage IV lung adenocarcinoma and established the patient-derived cell line SNU-4784. We also established several EGFR-KDD Ba/F3 cell lines: EGFR-KDD wild type (EGFR-KDDWT), EGFR-KDD domain 1 T790M (EGFR-KDDD1T), EGFR-KDD domain 2 T790M (EGFR-KDDD2T), and EGFR-KDD both domain T790M (EGFR-KDDBDT). We treated the cells with EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and performed cell viability assays, immunoblot assays, and ENU (N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea) mutagenesis screening. Results In cell viability assays, SNU-4784 cells and EGFR-KDDWT Ba/F3 cells were sensitive to 2nd generation and 3rd generation EGFR TKIs. In contrast, the T790M-positive EGFR-KDD Ba/F3 cell lines (EGFR-KDDT790M) were only sensitive to 3rd generation EGFR TKIs. In ENU mutagenesis screening, we identified the C797S mutation in kinase domain 2 of EGFR-KDDBDT Ba/F3 cells. Based on this finding, we established an EGFR-KDD domain 1 T790M/domain 2 cis-T790M+C797S (EGFR-KDDT/T+C) Ba/F3 model, which was resistant to EGFR TKIs and anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody combined with EGFR TKIs. Conclusion Our study reveals that the T790M mutation in EGFR-KDD confers resistance to 1st and 2nd generation EGFR TKIs, but is sensitive to 3rd generation EGFR TKIs. In addition, we identified that the C797S mutation in kinase domain 2 of EGFR-KDDT790M mediates a resistance mechanism against 3rd generation EGFR TKIs.
