Although graphene has been considered as one of the promise materials for future logic devices due to extremely high mobility, its applications in electronics have been limited to a few cases such as a flexible interconnect, and RF devices. Furthermore, most of the studies on graphene devices reported unstable operations, claimed to be due to the poor quality of graphene. Nevertheless, recent studies showed that the electrical performance of graphene field effect transistor could be stabilized even with CVD graphene when well-established integration processes to control the interface of graphene were used. These results indicate that as in the case of silicon devices, a proper control of graphene interface is very important for the stable operation of graphene device as well as other 2D material based devices.

Falcotentorial meningiomas are rare. The infratentorial supracerebellar and the occipital transtentorial approaches are frequently used to reach the tumor. A 56-year-old female was admitted to the hospital because of headache. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of her brain showed a 35×38×20 mm-sized tumor, suspected as a meningioma, with heterogeneous signal intensity in the pineal region. The patient was operated using the occipital bi-transtentorial/transfalcine approach. The observed tumor was a fibrotic mass with calcification and was not pulled to one side after internal decompression. It was totally removed through the bilateral approach. Immediately after surgery, however, the patient complained of total blindness. Following steroid therapy, the patient showed remarkable improvement. The occipital bi-transtentorial/transfalcine approach provides a well-exposed operation field and an optimized visibility of anatomical structures. However, the potential visual cortex injury should be considered due to undue, prolonged retraction.

By incorporation of PM6:Y6 bulk heterojunction to the IGZO transistor, a hybrid phototransistor with ultrahigh photoresponsivity and specific detectivity is realized in this paper. A comprehensive study on parameters affecting the device performance was conducted, and the parameters were optimized to achieve maximum performance. As a result, our PM6:Y6/IGZO hybrid phototransistor exhibited excellent performance, with an ultrahigh photoresponsivity of 2.2×10<SUP>8</SUP> A W<SUP>-1</SUP> and specific detectivity of 9.8 × 10<SUP>16</SUP> Jones under light intensity at only 1.03 nW cm<SUP>-2</SUP>.
섬모에서 extracentral microtubule이 발견된 Kartagener 증후군 1예

Kartagener's syndrome is an autosomal recessively inherited condition characterized by triad of situs inversus, bronchiectasis, and chronic sinusitis. And recently it was classified as a subclass of dyskinetic cilia syndrome, which has a defect in mucociliary transport resulting from immotile or dyskinetic beating of cilia. Electron microscopic examination of the cilia from sperm tails, nasal and bronchial epithelium of patients reveals the partial or the complete absence of dynein arms or radial spoke, or microtubule disposition. This patient had all the triad of Kartagener's syndrome and showed two extracentral microtubules on the electron microscopic examination of the nasal mucosa. Most patients have dynein arms defect, but it is rare to have extracentral microtubules. So we report one case of Kartagener's syndrome with extracentral microtubules confirmed by electron microscopy. (Korean J Med 59:230-234, 2000)
