Although lipoma is a rare benign tumor of the alimentarty tract, it is the third most common benign tumor of small intestine. In the small bowel, lipomas are found maos frequently in the distal ileum. The diagnoses are delayed or middes in many cases because symptoms are absent or vague and nonspecific until significant complications such as intussusception, obstruction, and hemarrhage develope. Preoperative diagnosis is very important because it helps to spare an unnecessary radical operation in high rick patients. The precise diagnosis was increased by the development of endoscopic tools and characteristic fat density in computed tomography. Recently, we experienced a intussuscepting small intedtinal lipoma which was diagnosed by computed tomography before surgery, Thus, we report a case with a brief review of literatures. The association of tuberculosis with carcinoma has been reported in most of the organs of the body. The common sites are the skin, larynx, and 1ung, where the development of cancer is a complication of chronic tuberculous ulceration, but the coexistence of these diseases at the same site of the intestine has been reported very rarely. The exact relationship between the abdominal tuberculosis and colon cancer is not evident, but the possibility of of a patho-etiological relationship may exist. We report a case of tuberculosis which had been combined with adenocarcinoma at the same site of the transverse colon. A 60-year-old man who had had intestinal tuberculosis diagnosed by colonoscopic biopsy, had been medicated with antituberculous drugs. The clinical symptoms and signs of him had been improved transiently, but progressed to the worsening course thereafter. We had found adenocarcinoma at the lesion of the tuberculous colitis by colonoscopy, later. (Korean J Gastroenterol 1996;28:738 - 742)

Primary malignant melanoma(PMM) of the lung is a rare neoplasm;to date there have been approximately 20 cases reported in the literature. A case of PMM of the lung in a 60-year-old male presented. A 2.5㎝ solitary mass in the right lower pulmonary lobe was discovered on a chest x-ray done for hemoptysis. The patient underwent right lower lobectomy for cure. Multiple detailed physical examinations did not disclose any primary lesions. We report one of the few cases of apparently PMM documented by both clinical and histological examination.

Primary hyperparathyroicism is a state of hypersecretion of PTH by the parathyroid. The etiology has not been established. The three possible etiologies of primary hyperparathyroidism and incidences are adenoma(83%), hyperplasia(15%), and carcinoma(1~2%). Parathyroid carcinoma usually presents in the fourth decades. The hallmark preoperative signs are hypercalcemia(serum calcium 15mg/dl). Palpable neck mass and bane and renal disease. Patients may present with multiple signs and syrnptoms, including recurrent nephrolithiasis, peptic ulcers, mental change, less frequently, extensive bone resorption. However, with greater awareness of the disease and wider use of screening tests, including blood calcium determinations, the diagnosis is frequently made in patients who have no symptoms and minimal, if any, signs of the disease other than hypercalcemia and elevated levels of parathyroid Hormone. An 38-years-old woman was admitted to the hospital due to pain on the left knee joint. We experienced full-brown symptom pertaining to hyperpara- thyroidism. Thus we report a case herein and also discuss clinical manifestation, histologic features and treatment(J Kor Soc Endocrinol 11:221~ 226, 1996).

Menetrier's disease, hypertrophec gastritis or hypertophic gastropathy, with mucosal hypertrophy in which the enlarged gastric rugae involved part or all of the stomach giving the appearance of cerebral convolutions. The enlarged rugae which characterize this disease are not attributable to lymphoma, infiltrative carcinoma or non-neoplastic disease, such as syphilis, tuberculosis kor sarcoidosis. Most impressive of Histologic features if the expanded or thickened mucosa, are mostly to an elongation of the foveolae, which become tortuous or corkscrew. Often these elongated pits will extended to the base of the mueosa where they may become cystic. On occasion, the deep cysts may apper to penetrate the muscularis mucosae and extend into the superficial submucosa, where they are surrounded by bundles of smooth muscle, another example of gastric cystica profunda. Gastritis cystica profunda is a rare condition in which mature glandular epithelium extends into the tissues beneath the muscularis in which mature glandular epithelium extends into the tissues beneath the muscularis mucosae. Benign gastric pseudotumor, gastritis cystica profunda, posses malignant histological features but functionally benignly. It is an analogous to similiar conditions affecting the small and large intestines that are called, repectively, enteritis and colitis cystica profunda. The proposed pathogenesis of these abnormalities relates to ischemia, chronic inflammation, and the presence of a foreign body. We present a case of Menetrier's disease assocated with gastritis cystica profunda and a brief review of clinical and pathologic pictures and management.
