Human fibroblast Interferon cDNA of which the signal sequence was elimiated by the partial digestion of the restriction enzyme AluI was inserted into the E. Coli expression vector, pkk223-3 which has tac promoter and transcription terminator region, rrnBT₁T₂ and into PLc2833 which has λpL promoter. The former was transformed to JM105 and JM103 and the latter was transformed to NR69 and M5248. The orientation of the IFN-β toward promoter was ascertained by restriction enzyme cutting. Expression of IFN-βgene of pkk223-3-IFN-βin E. Coli was induced by IPTG and the of PLc2833-IFN-β was induced by heat-shock. The induced E. Coli lysates were analysed by using SDS-PAGE.

보존적 한방치료를 진행한 요추 추간판 탈출증 환자의 시간에 따른 영상의학적 추간판 크기 변화 1례

Background: A herniated intervertebral disc (HIVD) triggers low back pain (LBP). Korean conservative treatment can decrease the herniated disc size without traditional surgery, but detailed prognosis is unclear. Case summary: One patient presented with LBP and bilateral sciatica. She was diagnosed with lumbar HIVD by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and treated by Korean medicine (acupuncture, decoction, and physical therapy). For 6 months, MRI follow-up exams showed the aggravation and migration of L5-S1 followed by distinct improvement of the same lumbar vertebra. Conclusion: The disc size in a patient with lumbar HIVD was reduced by Korean conservative treatment, and periodic radiologic examination showed the previously unrecognized process of absorbing the disc.

보존적 한방치료를 시행한 척추 수술 실패 증후군 환자 증례보고 : 출산 후 악화를 포함한 장기 경과 관찰

Background: Because of fear of reoperation and low efficiency, some patients with failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) opt for Korean medicine treatment. Gold standard treatment is not present for FBSS, therefore both surgical and non-surgical treatment are possible. Studies of Korean conservative medicine for FBSS had a short duration of treatment and mainly pre- and post-treatment comparisons. And case of female patients who have worsened after childbirth is rare. The purpose of this study was to report long-term follow-up and rare cases of FBSS. Case summary: A 33-year-old female patient diagnosed with lumbar disc herniation complained with low back pain and radicular pain in the left leg after surgery in 2011. Acupuncture and decoction (Cheongpa-jeon, GCSB-5) were administered to her twice a day for about 6 years and 6 months. The patient’s complaints improved with each hospitalization, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) showed a slight decrease in the size of the recurrent disc (L4/5) and a newly developed disc (L5/S1) that had deteriorated after delivery. Conclusion: Korean medicine could be used to manage the pain of lumbar spine FBSS patients for 6-7 years and to alleviate lumbago after delivery.

만성적 경과관찰을 보이는 Guillain-Barré Syndrome 환자 1례

Objectives: This case study reports on one patient presenting atypical and chronic disorders after being diagnosed with $Guillain-Barr{\acute{e}}$ Syndrome (GBS). Methods: One patient was treated by Yeongseonjetong-eum-gami, Taklisodok-eum-gami, electroacupuncture, and physical therapy. Any improvement in symptoms was assessed by measuring changes in the motor grade of upper limb weakness, the numerical rating scale (NRS) of lower limb numbness, and GBS scores. Results: After 24 days of treatment, the patient's symptoms of GBS showed little improvement. Conclusions: Traditional Korean medical treatment appeared to be effective in reducing GBS symptoms, but more research is required to confirm these results. When treating GBS patients, the clinician should put effort into distinguishing GBS from other nervous disorders, such as acute onset Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP).

교통 사고로 발생한 다발 늑골 골절 환자의 한방복합입원치료로 호전된 증례 보고 5례

Objectives: This study aimed to report five patients who had multiple rib fractures after a traffic accident who improved with the combination of Korean medical admission treatment. Methods: We collected the data of traffic accident patients with multiple rib fractures who were admitted to the Daejeon Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine from April 2018 to May 2018 to receive the combinational Korean medical treatment. We observed these cases of patients treated by Acupuncture, Pharmacopuncture, Herbal medicine, Oriental physical therapy, Chuna treatment. We measured the validity of the treatment with a numerical rating scale (NRS) and the European Quality of Life-5 Dimension (EQ5D) at admission, at two weeks, and at the discharge date of hospitalization. Results: At the end of the treatment, all patients showed a decrease in NRS scores and in increase in EQ5D. The median NRS score was 6 (5-7) at the date of admission and 4 (2-7) at two weeks and then decreased to 3 (2-6). The median EQ5D score was 0.513 (0.350-0.752) at the date of admission and 0.692 (0.418-0.913) at two weeks, and then increased to 0.783 (0.671-0.913). Conclusions: After the combination of Korean medicine admission treatment, five patients with multiple rib fractures after a traffic accident showed that the treatments were effective. However, the number of subjects was insufficient and individual efficacy was not measured in this study. Therefore, further studies are needed on this topic.

미주신경성 실신 증례보고 1례

Objectives: The purpose of this clinical case report is to describe the efficacy of Korean medicine in the treatment of vasovagal syncope. Methods: The patient was treated with acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and herbal medicine. The symptoms (headache, palpitation, sweating, flushing, weakness, coldness) of the patient were observed. Results: After the treatment, the patient's symptoms improved, but more treatments were required. Conclusion: This study can add to understanding of the effect of Korean medicine on vasovagal syncope.

초보 상담자들의 자기 성장을 위한 마음챙김 자비 프로그램 개발 및 효과

본 연구는 상담 경력이 짧은 초보 상담자를 대상으로 알아차림과 자비심을 향상하고 심리적 소진을 낮추어, 자기성장을 돕고자 수행하였다. 이를 위해 Gilbert의 자비중심치료(Compassion Focused Therapy, 2010)를 기반으로 총 8회기 마음챙김-자비 프로그램(Mindful Lovingkindness Compassion Program; MLCP)을 개발하였다. 연구대상은 상담 및 임상전공의 상담경력 2년 미만인 대학원생 22명이다. 이들을 처치집단과 통제집단으로 나뉘었고 프로그램 실시 후, 두 집단 간의 사전·사후 마음챙김, 자아존중감, 공감, 심리적 소진 점수를 비교하였다. 연구결과, 프로그램 참여 집단은 통제집단에 비해 프로그램 후, 마음챙김, 자아존중감이 향상되었고 심리적 소진은 감소되었으나 공감능력이 집단 간 차이가 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 프로그램의 개입이 초보 상담자에게 알아차림 능력과 자존감을 높여주고 심리적 소진을 낮출 수 있음을 나타낸다. 나아가 이러한 상담자의 자기성장은 향후 치료관계에 긍정적인 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다. This study examined whether the Mindful Lovingkindness-Compassion Program(MLCP) could improve the awareness and compassionate mind and reduce the burnout for novice counselor. MLCP consisted of 8 sessions basis ed on Gilbert’s Compassion Focused therapy(2010). Participants are graduated students in counseling and clinical residency are less than 2 years experience of counseling and 22 of people agreed with the study. Participants were assigned to the experimental group(MLCP) or the control group. The results of study showed that participants in the experimental group were more increase in mindfulness, self-esteem, and decrease in burnout than those in the control group. But, level of empathy between groups were not significant differences. Findings in this study suggested that improve the self-growth of counselor could be available for future positive therapeutic relationship.

요추 추간판 탈출증에 대한 한방 치료의 효과 연구 : High-intensive zone(HIZ) 유무에 따라

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of lumbar spinal herniated intervertebral Disc on MRI accompanying or not High-intensive zone(HIZ) by Korean Medical Combination Treatment Methods : 324 patients who received inpatient treatment from January 2017 to September 2017 in the Daejeon-Jaseng of Korean Medicine Hospital were divided into 2 groups by High-intensive zone(HIZ) confirmed with a Lumbar spine magnetic resonance imaging. All patients received a combination of treatment including acupunture, chuna manual therapy, pharmacopunture, herbal medication. They were compared and analyzed on the basis of improvement between measuring Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), EuroQol-5 Dimension Index (EQ5D Index), physical examination as they were hospitalized and as they were discharged. The statistically significance was evaluated by SPSS 18.0 for windows. Results : After treatment, Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), EuroQol-5 Dimension Index (EQ5D Index), physical examination was improved respectively. But there was no statistically significance between 2 group’s improvement after treatment. Conclusions : After inpatient treatment by Korean Medical Combination Treatment, Most patient’s pain, disability and Health Related Quality of Life was improved significantly. But there was no statistically difference between accompanying or not High-intensive zone(HIZ). So We think that future research of higher quality and correct statistics shall be necessary.

경추증성 척수증의 한의학적 치료에 대한 국내외 연구 동향

Objectives This study was performed to research the trends of Korean traditional medicine treatment for cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). Methods Clinical studies about Korean traditional medicine of CSM were searched in 7 online databases. We extracted the characteristics of selected studies according to author, publication year, country, research design, treatment methods, evaluation tools, and adverse events. Results Nineteen studies were selected in online databases. The included studies consist of 8 uncontrolled trial, 7 case reports, 3 randomized controlled trials and 1 non-randomized controlled trials. In these studies, various Korean traditional medicine treatments were performed, and herbal medicine was the most common. The most commonly used outcomes was effective rate. Conclusions This study showed that Korean traditional medicine could be an effective treatment for CSM. It was suggested that various studies should be conducted to provide objective evidence of the therapeutic effects of Korean traditional medicine treatment for CSM.
