        정어리유의 용매분별과 분별유의 이용

        In order to fractionate sardine oil by different solvents for an effective use of fish oil being subjected to the limit of use, an attempt was to investigate the proper solvents, ratios and fractionation time. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The proper solvent of fractionation using ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, acetone, and hexane was ethanol, and its optimum ratio was 2:1 (ethanol: oil, v/w). The proper time of ethanol fractionation by the ratio (2:1) was 4hr at 10℃, 6hr at 5℃, 8hr at 0℃ and 8hr at -5℃, respectively. 2. In the fractionation by stages using the ratio (2:1) at each temperature, the yield of stearine was 8% at 10℃ (Fraction Ⅰ), 32% at 5℃ (Fraction Ⅱ), 7% at 0℃ (Fraction Ⅲ) and 10% at 0℃ (Fraction Ⅳ), respectively. When ethanol fractionation was undertaken at 5℃ by stages, the yield of stearine (Fraction Ⅱ) was high. 3. lodine value of Fraction Ⅱ was 96.8. This result indicated that the hydrogenation process would be simpliied by fractionation 4. The percentage of the decrease of polyenoic acids from original sardine oil to Fraction Ⅱ oil was from 30.5% to 13.5%. The major fatty acids of Fraction Ⅱ were palmitic and oleic acids and these fatty acids were about 52% of total fatty acids. Therefore, Fraction Ⅱ, which remained liquid oil at room temperature because solid fat content was 6.9% at 20℃, would be used as frying oil.

        강수패턴과 토지이용의 시공간적 분석을 위한 SWAT모형의 검보정 개선방안 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of spatio-temporal changes in land uses and rainfall magnitude using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT). Prior of application of the model to real-world problem, the model should be calibrated and validated properly. In most modeling approaches, the validation process is done assuming no significant changes occurring at the study watershed between calibration and validation periods, which is not proper assumption for agricultural watersheds. If simulated results obtained with calibrated parameters match observed data with higher accuracy for validation period, this does not always mean the simulated result represents rainfall-runoff, pollutant generation and transport mechanism for validation period because temporal and spatial variables and rainfall magnitude are often not the same. In this study SWAT was applied to Mandae study watershed in Korea to evaluate effects of spatio-temporal changes in landuses using 2009 and 2010 crop data for each field at the watershed. The Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency (NSE) values for calibration and validation with either 2009 or 2010 was evaluated and the NSE value for calibration with 2009 and calibration with 2010 were compared. It was found that if there is substantial change in land use and rainfall, model calibration period should be determined to reflect those changes. Through these approaches, inherent limitation of the SWAT, which does not consider changes in land uses over the simulation period, was investigated. Also, Effects of changes in rainfall magnitude during calibration process were analyzed.

        골수외 형질세포종은 드문 종양으로 두경부에 주로 발생하며 수술 혹은 방사선의 국소 치료로 완치가 가능한 종양이다. 저자들은 구개편도에 발생 후 국소 방사선 치료로 완전 관해된 골수외 형질세포종 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Extramedullary plasmacytoma(EMP) is a rare tumor that originates as a clone of malignant transformed plasma cells. EMPs make up 4% of all plasma cell tumors and 90% of EMP cases occur in the head and neck area. The diagnosis of EMP is based on the morphologic and immunophenotypical finding of a localized collection of monoclonal plasma cells in the absence of plasma cell proliferation elsewhere. Patients with EMP can be treated by surgery or radiotherapy alone or in combination. EMP has good prognosis but long-term follow-up is critical because local recurrence or systemic progression to multiple myeloma may develop more than 30 years after the initial diagnosis of EMP. We report a case of EMP in palatine tonsil of 21-year old man who was treated successfully by radiotherapy alone.

        키토산 올리고당에 의한 HL-60 세포의 성장 억제 및 apoptosis 유도

        Chitosan-oligosaccharides (OCHT) have been suggested that it has an inhibitory effect on cancer cell growth. However, the precise mechanism remains to be elucidated. Recently, apoptosis has been recognized that it plays a key role in protection of cancer development. To elucidate the mechanism underlying inhibition of cancer cell growth by OCHT, it is necessary to determine whether the OCHT inhibit the growth of HL-60 cells (human promyelocytic leukemia cell line) through apoptosis. The growth rates of HL-60 cells were remarkably decreased after OCHT treatment. The induction of apoptotic DNA fragmentation by adding OCHT were occurred in a dose dependent fashion. In apoptotic HL-60 cells, caspase-3 activation and Bcl-2 protein down-regulation were shown. Thug, our data suggest that OCHT may inhibit the growth of HL-60 cells through induction of apoptosis.

        MgO 포화 CaO-SiO_2- Al_2O_3 -CaF_2계 슬래그에 의한 탈황반응

        In order to produce low sulfur steel, an optimum ladle slag composition was investigated as a function of CaO/Al_2O_3 (mass%) ratio and (T.Fe+MnO) content of the ladle slag. The effects of CaF_2 addition and ladle slag recycling on the desulfurization rate were also studied. An optimum value of CaO/Al_2O_3 ratio for desulfurization was 1.6∼1.7 and desulfurization reaction was enhanced when T.Fe + MnO was less than 1 mass%. The desulfurization rate constant (K) increase by the increase in the CaO/Al_2O_3 (mass%/mass%) ratio until 1.7 and it decrease afterward. However, desulfurization rate constant (K) did not show decreasing trend over 1.7 (CaO/Al_2O_3 ratio) when recycled ladle slag or CaF_2 was added.
