This essay is to study Derek Walcott's identity embedded in multi-racialism/-culture. Many discussions of Derek walcott's artistic identity echo critics' various views on whether Walcott is a Caribbean poet or not. The critcs's main views are subdivided into two ways; the skepticism produced by the Caribbean purists and the positivism by the Caribbean multi-nationalists. The purists mainly argue that Walcott's poetry is too internalized and too skeptical to reflect the struggle toward authentic West Indian values. This view accuses Walcott's poems in the sixties for the results from Euro-centric humanism. However, other critics don't agree that Walcott's Euro-centric Humanism results in leaving the poet too skeptical and too detached to be a part of the West Indies. This view argues that although Walcott's poetry results from his personal quest, it doesn't lower Caribbeans and their values in status. Considering the two contrastive views of Walcott's poetry, this study puts its focus on the recent views which occurred after the decade of the sixties. Most of the critical views focus on the multiracial and cultural tradition in Walcott's poetry, confirming his West Indian roots and his conviction that these roots strike the human resources. It is believed that these views result from the closest insight into the reality of Walcott and the Caribbean in terms of multi-racism and -culture. Walcott is a multiracial/cultural symbol because he was born of the black maternal line (His mother was a descendent of the first slave-generation from Africa.) and the white paternal line (His father was an English.), and his multiracial/cultural background is absolutely Caribbean because the Caribbean is a melting pot of multi-racism/-culture from Africa, Asia, Europe, and America. Thus, it is natural that Walcott deny the propagandistic voices of the purists' pro-Africanism. Instead, he is obviously a Caribbean poet who doesn't make a one-sided choice irrespective of Caribbean variables in terms of race, culture, and value but positively adopts multi-racism and -culture to nourish his poetry.
According to the design concept of microwave front-end, a low noise amplifier block using HBT cascode topology is proposed to provide high gain and low noise figure with low bias current. We has implemented MMIC-LNA with a modified configuration using inductors to show low noise at the emitter and base of cascoded HBT-MMIC amplifier. The measured performance of the designed MMIC-LNA at 3.7GHz are a gain of 19dB, noise figure of 2.7dB and image rejection of 35dBc using a supply of 3mA and 2.7V. We can convinced that cascoded amplifier block to fulfill a high gain, low noise and image rejection if microwave front-end receiver is designed by cascode MMEC-LNA with the active image rejection filter.
